• Cucumber - How configure it to use "--format pretty" as default?

  I'm starting learning rails, and having some troubles on configure cucumber to run my bdd tests. What I want is run cucumber features and this translate to cucumber features --format pretty I tried to do this editing the config/cucumber.yml file (on a rails project). Edited the line: default: <%= std_opts % features resulting on: default: <%= std_opts % --format pretty features But it make some erros happen: Using the default profile... All but one formatter must use --out, only one can print to each stream (or STDOUT) (RuntimeError) What I can do to make this option "--format pretty" default? Also, is there any other good option to put as default to make result more clear? Thank you.

Receiving data works fine - select works in LINQ and shows data from database(sql server 2008). • Choosing connectionstring in VB.NET application at startup

  I have a VB.NET application with a connection to an SQL Server 2003. On the server there are two databases, MyDatabase and MyDatabase_Test. What I would like to do is to show a dialog when the program starts that let's the user choose which database to use. My idea is to create a new form as the starup form that sets this property and then launches the main form. Currently the connectionstring is specified in the application config file. Best would be if I can specify two different connection strings in that file to choose from, but for now it is also acceptable with other solutions like hardcoding the two connectionstrings into the startup form.

  i have an RoR application Log, which similar to the book store app, my logs_controller has all default action: index, show, update, create, delete.. now i need to add new action :toCSV, i defined it in logs_controller, and add new route in the config/routes as: map.resources :logs, :collection = { :toCSV = :get }. from irb, i checked the routes and see the new routes added already: rs = ActionController::Routing::Routes puts rs.routes GET /logs/toCSV(.:format)? {:controller="logs", :action="toCSV"} then ran ‘rake routes’ command in shell, it returned: toCSV_logs GET /logs/toCSV(.:format) {:controller="logs", :action="toCSV"} everything seems working. finally in my views code, i added the following: link_to 'Export to CSV', toCSV_logs_path when access it in the brower 'http://localhost:3000/logs/toCSV', it complained: Couldn't find Log with ID=toCSV i checked in script/server, and saw this one: ActiveRecord::RecordNotFound (Couldn't find Log with ID=toCSV): app/controllers/logs_controller.rb:290:in `show' seems when i click that link, it direct it to the action 'show' instead of 'toCSV', thus it took 'toCSV' as an id...anyone know why would this happen? and to fix it? • Java Spring 3.0 MVC Annotation vs COC. Whats the preferred method in the Java community?

  I am using Spring's MVC framework for an application I'm hosting on Google's App Engine. So far, my controllers are registered via the @Controller annotation; however, prior to getting into Spring, I evaluated ASP.net MVC 2 which requires no configuration and is based on convention. Is convention over configuration (COC) the current and preferred method in the Java community to implement MVC with Spring. Also, this may be a result of my limited knowledge so far but i noticed that i could only instantiate my Controllers the required constuctor injection if i use the COC method via the ControllerClassNameHandlerMapping. For instance the following controller bean config will fail if i use the defaultannotationhandlermapping. <bean id="c" class="com.domain.TestController"> <constructor-arg ref="service" /> </bean> <bean id="service" class="com.domain.Service" /> My com.domain.TestController controller works fine if i use ControllerClassNameHandlerMapping/COC but it results in an error when i use defaultannotationhandlermapping/Annotations.

• Sharing user controls acrros multiple websites

  Hello, I am currently working on a project which involves three different websites with a lot of common functionality. At the moment the common functionality is placed in a different website full of user controls. The problem is sharing the user controls across the multiple websites. Looking around on SO and other websites, the only solution seems the be using virtual directories. As this is a workable solution (we us this at the moment) it doesn't seem as a "clean" solution. Which "best practices" exist on sharing common functionality (including the GUI/HTML) between different site? Is it (for example) possible to create a single Web Application project and deploy subdirectories (each with their own web.config) to different production environments?

• Whats the proper way of accessing a database through an assembly?

  Hi, I have a ASP.NET MVC application which is build up as an assembly that queries the database and a asp.net frontend that references this assembly and this assembly abstracts the underlying database. This means that my Assembly contains a app.config file that contains the connectionstring to the database (Linq to Sql data model). How do I go about making this more flexible? Should i make a "initialize()" method somewhere in my assembly which takes the connection string from the asp.net mvc application and then that controls which database to use? or how is this done?

  My web app (asp VB 2005) uses Windows authentication. If the user isn't part of a specific AD security group they don't get to edit the data; instead I redirect the user to a read-only page. The program works fine in the IDE. I published the web app to my laptop and Disabled anonymous access. When I ran the program I got redirected to the read-only page. I added a write event to the application event log to see what was going on, and found that the WindowsPrincipal.Identity.Name contained my laptop's ID, not my user name. I reassert: anonymous access is disabled in IIS and the web.config file has Windows Authentication. Can anyone suggest what else to check? Or can you explain what's going on?

• asp.net forms authentication timing out after 1 minute

  I'm using ASP.NET MVC 3 with the Authorize attribute, but it keeps kicking me to the logon page after 1 minute, but even though my expiration is set to a very high value, it times out quickly. I check the cookie in my browser and its still there and not set to expire until about a month later, and it's set to be persistent, so I'm not sure why it keeps booting me. • PHP Linefeeds (\n) Not Working

  For some reason I can't use \n to create a linefeed when outputting to a file with PHP. It just writes "\n" to the file. I've tried using "\\n" as well, where it just writes "\n" (as expected). But I can't for the life of me figure out why adding \n to my strings isn't creating new lines. I've also tried \r\n but it just appends "\r\n" to the line in the file. Example: error_log('test\n', 3, 'error.log'); error_log('test2\n', 3, 'error.log'); Outputs: test\ntest2\n Using MAMP on OSX in case that matters (some sort of PHP config thing maybe?). Any suggestions?

• Cucumber works on Eclipse but not on Jenkins

  I am successfully running Cucumber test on my java/maven eclipse project. But when I add my project do Jenkins I always get the following error "cucumber.runtime.CucumberException: No features found at []". I read in this thread Setting cucumber-jvm options in Maven from the command line that: ...tests are running in separate JVM, so you need to specify that system property in the test plugin configuration (i.e. surefire or failsafe plugin config in your pom.xml) But I am not quite sure how to do this. Can anyone help me? PS: I am using "cucumber-java" and "cucumber-junit" dependencies.

  Hi, For a NUnit test I need to reference a .mdf file from a .config file. Unfortunately, I get the following error message: The FOR ATTACH option requires that at least the primary file be specified. An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file C:\....\*.mdf A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share. I looked for this error on google but didn't find anything that helped me solve my problem. Any idea? Thank you

• Django "Page not found" error page shows only one of two expected urls

The URL config looks like the following: urlpatterns = patterns('my_site.core_prototype.views', (r'^newpost/$', 'newPost'), (r'^$', 'NewPostAndDisplayList'), # capture nothing... #more here... - perhaps the perma-links? ) This is in an app's url.py which is loaded from the project's url.py via: urlpatterns = patterns('', # only app for now. (r'^$', include('my_site.core_prototype.urls')), ) The problem is, when I receive a 404 attempting to utilize newpost, the error page only shows the ^$ -- it seems to ignore the newpost pattern... I'm sure the solution is probably stupid-simple but right now I'm missing it. Can someone help get me on the right track...

• bad_application error starting erlang gen_server application

  I have written a simple erlang app using gen_server. When starting it with application:start(myapp), I get the following tuple... {error,{bad_application,{application,myapp ... (rest of my application config). There are no other error or warning messages. I have also tried to google examples of how to configure gen_server and also the error itself. I am surprised at how little information there is out there. I could start trying to debug OTP?? Any pointers would be appreciated.

• Websphere CE issue in Eclipse EE

  I have downloaded the Websphere 2.1 App Server and verified that it works fine. I now wanted to use eclipse EE to manage it by adding the server to the server tab.   I am confused :) I'm using the p18n component in cakephp found here: http://www.palivoda.eu/2008/04/i18n-in-cakephp-12-database-content-translation-part-2/ This component requires me to set in core.php the following constant: define("DEFAULT_LANGUAGE", 'eng') However when this is set I cannot change the language using: Configure::write('Config.language', 'eng'); At the moment, into my knowledge, the only way to change the locale of my static content is the use of the Configure::write. But for the dynamic content to change through the use of the p28n component I must have the DEFINE_LANGUAGE constant set to a value. This is all very confusing. Any help will be much appreciated.
