  • Is mono fast enough for Mac OS X?

    - by prosseek
I have to use .NET/C# for the next company project. As I've developed my project on Mac, I looked into the mono for development environment/tool. Is the mono for Mac OS X is fast enough? I mean, what about the performance in running the assembly compared to running the same code on .NET under windows machine? Do I have to buy PC laptop for developing C#/.NET in practical sense?

  • Postgresql - Edit function signature

    - by drave
POSTGRESQL 8.4.3 - i created a function with this signature CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION logcountforlasthour() RETURNS SETOF record AS realised i wanted to change it to this CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION logcountforlasthour() RETURNS TABLE(ip bigint, count bigint) record AS but when i apply that change in the query tool it isnt accepted or rather it is accepted, there is no syntax error, but the text of the function has not been changed. even if i run "DROP FUNCTION logcountforlasthour()" between edits the old syntax comes back if i edit the body of the function, thats fine, it changes but not the signature is there something i'm missing thanks

  • A lot to merge after creating a new branch in SVN

    - by homaxto
We have recently made a new branch, let us call it rel3.6, which was based on the last release named rel3.5. Work has started on rel3.6, and meanwhile some bugs has been fixed on rel3.5 which now is used for a service pack to be released soon. Today I wanted to merge those bugs from rel3.5 to rel3.6, so I fired up SmartSVN. Standing in the rel3.6 branch i chosed\ to merge with rel3.5 and selected to browse for a revision range. To my surprise there was a huge list of changes even though I checked "Stop on copy" and only showing mergeable revisions. Most of them where dated back before the creation of rel3.6. I did not expect to find anything from before rel3.5 was created. If I make a merge, the only thing I get are changes and conflicts to directory properties. Have I misunderstood something, or is it possible that something was done wrong when creating the branch?

  • Monitor vs Watch on SourceForge Tracker

    - by Vulcan Eager
What exactly is the difference Watching and Monitoring a project on the SourceForge Tracker UI? PS: The tool tips are really helpful. Hold your mouse over the "Monitor" button and it says "Monitor this project"... hold it over "Watch" and it says nothing. That's really awesome coming from SF.

  • Python Tkinter after loop not working fast enough

    - by user2658538
I am making a simple metronome where it plays a tick sound every few milliseconds depending on the bpm and plays the sound using the winsound module. I use tkinter because there will be a gui component later but for now the metronome code is working, it plays the sound at a constant rate, but even though I set the after loop to play the sound every few milliseconds, it waits longer and the beat is slower than it should be. Is it a problem with the code or a problem with the way I calculate the time? Thanks. Here is my code. from Tkinter import * import winsound, time, threading root=Tk() c=Canvas(root) c.pack() class metronome(): def __init__(self,root,canvas,tempo=100): self.root=root self.root.bind("<1>",self.stop) self.c=canvas self.thread=threading.Thread(target=self.play) self.thread.daemon=True self.pause=False self.tempo=tempo/60.0 self.tempo=1.0/self.tempo self.tempo*=1000 def play(self): winsound.PlaySound("tick.wav",winsound.SND_FILENAME) self.sound=self.c.after(int(self.tempo),self.play) def stop(self,e): self.c.after_cancel(self.sound) beat=metronome(root,c,120) beat.thread.start() root.mainloop()

  • C++ packing a typedef enum

    - by Sagar
typedef enum BeNeLux { BELGIUM, NETHERLANDS, LUXEMBURG } _PACKAGE_ BeNeLux; When I try to compile this with C++ Compiler, I am getting errors, but it seems to work fine with a C compiler. So here's the question. Is it possible to pack an enum in C++, or can someone see why I would get the error? The error is: "semicolon missing after declaration of BeNeLux". I know, after checking and rechecking, that there definitely is a semicolon there, and in any places required in the rest of the code.

  • Has anyone used Sphinx to document a C++ project?

    - by Nick
Sphinx is a new documentation tool for Python. It looks very nice. What I'm wondering is: How suitable this is for documenting a C++ project? Are there any tools for converting existing documentation (e.g. doxygen) to Sphinx format? Are there online/downloadable examples of C++ projects that use Sphinx? Any tips from anyone who has used Sphinx?
