  • Cannot work for 2nd iteration because of writing delay.

    - by karikari
    My code's IF-THEN does not work for 2nd iteration. This is due to, the jar processing take some time to write it result inside the output.txt. Since the writing is a bit late, my code's 2nd iteration will always read the previous written value inside the output.txt in order to pass it to the IF-THEN. For example, in 1st iteration: output.txt -- 0.9888 twrite.txt -- msg: ok 2nd iteration: output.txt -- 0.5555 twrite.txt -- msg: ok //the IF-THEN still gives this result which is based on previous iteration. it should be msg: not ok . since it is < 0.7 I need help, how to solve this 'delay' problem? HRESULT CButtonDemoBHO::onDocumentComplete(IDispatch *pDisp, VARIANT *vUrl){ ATLTRACE("CButtonDemoBHO::onDocumentComplete %S\n", vUrl->bstrVal); WinHttpClient client(vUrl->bstrVal); client.SendHttpRequest(); wstring httpResponseHeader = client.GetHttpResponseHeader(); wstring httpResponse = client.GetHttpResponse(); writeToLog(httpResponse.c_str()); if (isMainFrame(pDisp)){ m_normalPageLoad=false; FILE *child = _popen("javaw -jar c:\\simmetrics.jar c:\\chtml.txt c:\\thtml.txt > c:\\output.txt", "r"); fclose(child); char readnumber[10]; float f = 0; FILE *file11 = fopen("c:\\output.txt","r"); char* p = fgets(readnumber,10,file11); std::istringstream iss(p); iss >> f; if (f > 0.7) { wfstream file12 ("c:\\twrite.txt", ios_base::out); file12 << "Msg: ok"; file12.close(); } else { wfstream file12 ("c:\\twrite.txt", ios_base::out); file12 << "Msg: not ok"; file12.close(); } iss.clear(); fclose(file11); return S_OK; } return S_OK; }

  • Should I call class destructor in this code?

    - by peterg
    I am using this sample to decode/encode some data I am retrieving/sending from/to a web server, and I want to use it like this: BOOL HandleMessage(UINT uMsg,WPARAM wParam,LPARAM lParam,LRESULT* r) { if(uMsg == WM_DESTROY) { PostQuitMessage(0); return TRUE; } else if(uMsg == WM_CREATE) { // Start timer StartTimer(); return TRUE; } else if(uMsg == WM_TIMER) { //get data from server char * test = "test data"; Base64 base64; char *temp = base64.decode(test); MessageBox(TEXT(temp), 0, 0); } } The timer is set every 5 minutes. Should I use delete base64 at the end? Does delete deallocates everything used by base64?

  • Should I use a global var or call the function every time? C++

    - by extintor
    Im using: bool GetOS(LPTSTR pszOS) { OSVERSIONINFOEX osve; BOOL bOsVersionInfoEx; ZeroMemory(&osve, sizeof(OSVERSIONINFOEX)); osve.dwOSVersionInfoSize = sizeof(OSVERSIONINFOEX); if( !(bOsVersionInfoEx = GetVersionEx ((OSVERSIONINFO *) &osve)) ) return false; TCHAR buf[80]; StringCchPrintf( buf, 80, TEXT("%u.%u.%u.%u"), osve.dwPlatformId, osve.dwMajorVersion, osve.dwMinorVersion, osve.dwBuildNumber); StringCchCat(pszOS, BUFSIZE, buf); return true; } to get the windows version, and I am planning to use pszOS every a few minutes, Should I use pszOS as a global var or call GetOS() every time? What's the best option from a performance point of view.

  • Using MATLAB's plotting features as an interactive part of a Fortran program

    - by ldigas
    Although many of you will have a decent idea of what I'm aiming at, just from reading the title -- allow me a simple introduction still. I have a Fortran program - it consists of a program, some internal subroutines, 7 modules with its own procedures, and ... uhmm, that's it. Without going into much detail, for I don't think it's necessary at this point, what would be the easiest way to use MATLAB's plotting features (mainly plot(x,y) with some customizations) as an interactive part of my program ? For now I'm using some of my own custom plotting routines (based on HPGL and Calcomp's routines), but just as part of an exercise on my part, I'd like to see where this could go and how would it work (is it even possible what I'm suggesting?). Also, how much effort would it take on my part ? I know this subject has been rather extensively described in many "tutorials" on the net, but for some reason I have trouble finding the really simple yet illustrative introductory ones. So if anyone can post an example or two, simple ones, I'd be really grateful. Or just take me by the hand and guide me through one working example. platform: IVF 11.something :) on Win XP SP2, Matlab 2008b

  • Manage DirectX as a starting point

    - by numerical25
    I know the difference between manage and unmanaged DirectX. My question is if I decided to do managed directX as a starting point, would it help me to better understand unmanaged DirectX. Honestly, the only thing I see different about the 2 is how you initiate and access resources. Matrix Math is Matrix no matter what so If I learn it in managed, then I should be fine in unmanaged

  • how to run href="#var=something" before onclick function fires in javascript?

    - by korben
    i'm using the below javascript to change an image on an aspx in asp.net c# <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> var updateImageWhenHashChanges = function() { theImage = document.getElementById("ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_Image1a"); if(window.location.hash == "#size=2") { theImage.src = "<%# Eval("realfilename", "/files/l{0}") %>"; } else if(window.location.hash == "#size=3") { theImage.src = "<%# Eval("realfilename", "/files/{0}") %>"; } else if(window.location.hash == "#size=1") { theImage.src = "<%# Eval("fullthumbname", "/thumbnails/{0}") %>"; } else { } } </script> here's how i call it with a link <a href="#size=3" onclick="updateImageWhenHashChanges();">test</a> the problem is that it only does what i'm expecting on the SECOND click of the link, because it seems onclick fires before the href, so the first time i'm just placing the var and the 2nd time i'm actually getting what i want. does anyone know how i can fix this? i'm trying to get the image to change on each click

  • Tfs 2010: how to set up a corporate source server?

    - by bwerks
    Hi all, I'm looking for guidance in setting up a corporate source server, but when I google this topic the best I can come up with is articles and walkthrough concerned with configuring VS to use microsoft's public symbol servers for use with debugging .NET assemblies. Provided for background info, the environment I'm concerned with using is Vs2010/Tfs2010. Basically, the workflow I'm looking to facilitate is this: 1) customer reports problem with application 2) application of the appropriate version is installed on a virtual machine 3) developer repros bug attaching to process on virtual machine and leveraging source server (symbol server?) on corporate domain. This is the step I'm concerned with. 4) developer pinpoints problem fixes bug in workspace. 5) developer performs a dll swap on VM to test changes? (side topic, not sure on this) 6) normal development/source control workflows. Any advice is welcome! Edit: since writing this, I have stumbled on this article, which is a nice writeup on the configuration of source server for TFS 2008. Has anyone adapted this for Tfs 2010?

  • How to program three editions Light, Pro, Ultimate in one solution

    - by Henry99
    I'd like to know how best to program three different editions of my C# ASP.NET 3.5 application in VS2008 Professional (which includes a web deployment project). I have a Light, Pro and Ultimate edition (or version) of my application. At the moment I've put all in one solution with three build versions in configuration manager and I use preprocessor directives all over the code (there are around 20 such constructs in some ten thousand lines of code, so it's overseeable): #if light //light code #endif #if pro //pro code #endif //etc... I've read in stackoverflow for hours and thought to encounter how e.g. Microsoft does this with its different Windows editions, but did not find what I expected. Somewhere there is a heavy discussion about if preprocessor directives are evil. What I like with those #if-directives is: the side-by-side code of differences, so I will understand the code for the different editions after six months and the special benefit to NOT give out compiled code of other versions to the customer. OK, long explication, repeated question: What's the best way to go?

  • Unusual heap size limitations in VS2003 C++

    - by Shane MacLaughlin
    I have a C++ app that uses large arrays of data, and have noticed while testing that it is running out of memory, while there is still plenty of memory available. I have reduced the code to a sample test case as follows; void MemTest() { size_t Size = 500*1024*1024; // 512mb if (Size > _HEAP_MAXREQ) TRACE("Invalid Size"); void * mem = malloc(Size); if (mem == NULL) TRACE("allocation failed"); } If I create a new MFC project, include this function, and run it from InitInstance, it works fine in debug mode (memory allocated as expected), yet fails in release mode (malloc returns NULL). Single stepping through release into the C run times, my function gets inlined I get the following // malloc.c void * __cdecl _malloc_base (size_t size) { void *res = _nh_malloc_base(size, _newmode); RTCCALLBACK(_RTC_Allocate_hook, (res, size, 0)); return res; } Calling _nh_malloc_base void * __cdecl _nh_malloc_base (size_t size, int nhFlag) { void * pvReturn; // validate size if (size > _HEAP_MAXREQ) return NULL; ' ' And (size _HEAP_MAXREQ) returns true and hence my memory doesn't get allocated. Putting a watch on size comes back with the exptected 512MB, which suggests the program is linking into a different run-time library with a much smaller _HEAP_MAXREQ. Grepping the VC++ folders for _HEAP_MAXREQ shows the expected 0xFFFFFFE0, so I can't figure out what is happening here. Anyone know of any CRT changes or versions that would cause this problem, or am I missing something way more obvious?

  • I set a global bug catcher in my application for unhandled exceptions and it is picking up all exceptions

    - by user1632018
    I am trying to figure out why this is happing. In my vb.net application I set a global handler in the ApplicationEvents.vb which I thought would only pick up any unhandled exceptions, although it is picking up every exception that happens in my application whether or not they are handled with try catch blocks. Here is my code in applicationevents Private Sub MyApplication_UnhandledException(ByVal _ sender As Object, ByVal e As _ Microsoft.VisualBasic.ApplicationServices.UnhandledExceptionEventArgs) _ Handles Me.UnhandledException e.ExitApplication = _ MessageBox.Show(e.Exception.Message & _ vbCrLf & "The application has encountered a bug, would you like to Continue?", "An Error has occured.", _ MessageBoxButtons.YesNo, _ MessageBoxIcon.Question) _ = DialogResult.No End Sub In the rest of my application I set normal try catch blocks like this: Try Catch ex as exception End Try Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

  • Missing DLL Problem

    - by Liran
    Hi everyone. I have a C++ native application that was built under VS2005 (sp1),On machine A. (Debug Mode) Now,I need to run this application on a "clean" computer, Clean means it has no VS installed on. When i copy the runtime folder from machine A to the "clean" machine and try to activate the application it demands to reinstall the application. obviously missing DLLs are causing this problem cause on machine A the app works just fine, Is there any "clean" solution for this kind of problem besides gessing which DLLs are missing ? maybe a smart tool or installer that indicates which DLLs are missing at the runtime ? Thanks, Liran

  • tricky interview question for C++

    - by Alexander
    Given the code below. How would you create/implement SR.h so that it produces the correct output WITHOUT any asterix in your solution? I got bummed by this question #include <cstdio> #include "SR.h" int main() { int j = 5; int a[] = {10, 15}; { SR x(j), y(a[0]), z(a[1]); j = a[0]; a[0] = a[1]; a[1] = j; printf("j = %d, a = {%d, %d}\n", j, a[0], a[1]); } printf("j = %d, a = {%d, %d}\n", j, a[0], a[1]); } //output j = 10, a = {15, 10} j = 5, a = {10, 15} #include <cstdio> #include "SR.h" int main() { int sum = 0; for (int i = 1; i < 100; i++) { SR ii(i); while (i--) sum += i; } printf("sum = %d\n", sum); } //The output is "sum = 161700".

  • Junctions or Virtual Directories for Web Applications?

    - by Kevin
    I see that junctions are a common way of referencing shared code in many projects. However, I have not seen them used in web applications before. Our team is exploring the possibility of abandoning virtual directories in favor of junctions to simplify our build process. My goal is to compile a list of pros and cons in order to make an informed decision regarding this change. Is it more appropriate to use junctions or virtual directories on web application projects? Environment is ASP.NET, IIS6/IIS7, VS.NET.

  • Saving results to a file in C++

    - by user1680877
    I have a problem with this code. What I am looking for in the code is to get the result of "first" and "second" randomly and put the result in a file. It works great if I run it without using the file and I get all the correct results, but when I try to save the result in the file, I get only the first node which contains (first, secnd). Here is the code: #include<iostream> #include <fstream> #include<cmath> using namespace std; void main() { int first[100],secnd[100]; for (int i=0; i<100 ;i++) { first[i]=rand()%500; //random number from to 499 secnd[i]=rand()%500; //random number from to 499 ofstream myfile; myfile.open ("example.txt"); myfile << "Writing this to a file.\n"; myfile <<first[i]<<" "<<secnd[i]; myfile.close(); } }

This is what the view source looks like HTMLHEAD META content="text/html; charset=windows-1252" http-equiv=Content-Type/HEAD BODY/BODY/HTML I took out the < in the tags so that it would display here... If i take out the Me.lbl1.Text = cookie.Value.ToString the page loads fine.. All i'm putting to the page is some text and the label control. anyone have any ideas
