  • Default.aspx with IIS 6.0 and .Net 4?

    We have deployed a .net 4 asp.net site on IIS 6.0. Default.aspx is configured as one of the default document. When we access the site using the following url http://testsite We expect it to render http://testsite/Default.aspx But instead we get 404 Not found error. We did not had this issue when it was deployed on .Net 2.0. Only thing that has changed on the server is that we use .Net 4 instead of .Net 2.

  • When I add meta:resourcekey to LinkButton it hides label contained in link button.

    For the code below:- <asp:LinkButton ID="lbtnTest" runat="server" CssClass="toolbar" CommandArgument="Test" meta:resourcekey="lbtnTest1" OnCommand="ChangeText"> <asp:Literal ID="litTest" Text="My Text" runat="server" meta:resourcekey="litTest" /> </asp:LinkButton> When I remove meta:resourcekey="lbtnTest1" from the link button then litTest is rendered properly whereas if I have meta:resourcekey="lbtnTest1" in link button it doesn't display text for litTest. Any idea what I am doing wrong here?

    i am developing an application in which two users can do voice chat on iPhone via bluetooth.Now that i have initiated the voice chat in my code,i found that iPhone 3 does not have microphone builtin.Does anybody has any idea on how can i test my application.Because if i use external microphone then i'll not be able to connect it to my system and so not be able to test unless my code is completly runnable.....     Hi I am writing an iPhone app that that is trying to create a second a view when the user clicks on an element in UITableView. The code looks like ReplyToViewController *reply = [[ReplyToViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"ReplyTo" bundle:nil]; reply.delegate = self; Message *message = [resultData objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; int dbid = [message.bizid intValue]; NSLog(@"dbid=%d",dbid); reply.currentMessage = message; reply.modalTransitionStyle = UIModalTransitionStyleFlipHorizontal; [self presentModalViewController:reply animated:YES]; The reply object gets created properly and the view is proper. Last line in above code segment calls some framework code which eventually calls the viewDidLoad method of the ReplyToViewController. Address of the reply object in the above code and the address of the object in viewDidLoad is not same. Any idea where this new object is coming from? How do I debug? I also added init method the following method in ReplyToViewController hoping that it will get called and I can find who is creating this new object. But it does not stop in this method.   • How to design WCF Contracts?

    We are designing a WCF layer which can be invoked either by a Asp.Net or a WinForm application. Our Application contains too many Entities. If we design WCF Contract around these entities then we get too many Contracts e.g IPartyService, IUserService, IPaymentService etc. So, I may end up with 30-40 Contracts? Is it a good idea or should we go for one huge contracts with around 100 operations? What are the pros and cons of each approach or is there a better way.

    We have a Asp.Net Webform page which contains a GridView inside UpdatePanel and refreshes every minute. And every one minute we get the following error in Event log. Error Message:Unable to validate data. Stack Trace: at System.Web.Configuration.MachineKeySection.GetDecodedData(Byte[] buf, Byte[] modifier, Int32 start, Int32 length, Int32& dataLength) at System.Web.UI.ObjectStateFormatter.Deserialize(String inputString). We have tried the following. Adding a static machine key in the Web.Config. (Did not work?) Disabling the View State Mac in the Web,.Config using following entry. (Did not work) <pages buffer="true" enableViewStateMac="false"> Is there something else that might cause this?

  • Directory Seperator ¥ for japaneses OS

    Hi All, I have an application written in asp.net that I am accessing from a machine with Japanese OS, I use FileUpload component on a page and file path comes as C:\Directory\AnotherDirectory\FileName where it should have been C:¥Directory¥AnotherDirectory¥FileName because ¥ is separator for Japanese OS. Any Idea how this can be fixed or any solution that you would recommend.

  • Improving the performance of an nHibernate Data Access Layer.

    I am working on improving the performance of DataAccess Layer of an existing Asp.Net Web Application. The scenerios are. Its a web based application in Asp.Net. DataAccess layer is built using NHibernate 1.2 and exposed as WCF Service. The Entity class is marked with DataContract. Lazy loading is not used and because of the eager-fetching of the relations there is huge no of database objects are loaded in the memory. No of hits to the database is also high. For example I profiled the application using NHProfiler and there were about 50+ sql calls to load one of the Entity object using the primary key. I also can not change code much as its an existing live application with no NUnit test cases at all. Please can I get some suggestions here?

Windows Service Installed directory : C:\Services\MyService\MyService.exe Path of the xml file : C:\Services\MyService\MyService.xml I am trying to access the file using the following code. using (FileStream stream = new FileStream("MyService.xml", FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read)) { //Read file } I get the following error. "Can not find file : C:\WINDOWS\system\MyService.xml" My service is running with local system account and I don't want to use absolute path.
