  • Is it possible to change iframe src using javascript exists in page inside that iframe?

    - by Amr ElGarhy
I want to change the iframe source when something change in this iframe content, the iframe is in a different domian than the parent page. is this can be done or not? I just need to add a hash to this iframe src, so that i can access this hash value from the parent page and do some stuff based on this value. What i did: In the iframe page i wrote: window.location.hash = "close_child"; and in the parent page i wrote: if (document.getElementById("MyIFrameId").src.indexOf("#close_child") > 0) { but i always find that the src is empty

  • audio and video data in RTP

    - by Banana
Suppose a user wants to transmit both audio and video to another user, whose formats are AMR for audio and H.264 for video. Does the user have to transmit audio and video packets always separately? Meaning that it is not possible to mix audio and video within the same RTP packed, is that correct? If this is true I guess the RTP protocol will need to know the SSRC of both audio and video to be able to check the sync of the two streams.

  • Is a "Soft Modem" (i.e. internal) really going to cause incompatibilities?

    - by Farseeker
Thanks to the fact that our banking industry in Australia... outdated (which is the politest word I could think of when describing the banking industry)... to do a certain kind of transaction our bank requires us to use a dialup modem and send serial data to them. When reading through their documentation (last update: 1995), they state that any "Soft Modems" (by which I assume they mean internal modems, as they refer to a AMR socket on a motherboard, which I haven't seen in donkeys years) should not be used because of "possible incompatibilities" Seeing as buying an external, serial-port modem is actually quite expensive these days and I have a whole box of PCI modems taken out of a bunch of Dells I really don't want to have to buy an external modem. Additionally I think their documentation is simply outdated. Has anyone had experience with internal modems causing issues, where an external modem didn't?

  • PASS 13 Dispatches: Memory Optimized = On

    - by Tony Davis
I'm at the PASS Summit in Charlotte for the Day 1 keynote by Quentin Clarke, Corporate VP of the data platform group at Microsoft. He's talking about how SQL Server 2014 is “pushing boundaries” and first up is SQL Server 2014's In-Memory OLTP technology (former codename “hekaton”) It is a feature that provokes a lot of interest and for good reason as, without any need for application rewrites or hardware updates, it can enable us to ensure that an application can find in memory most or all of the data it needs, and can lead to huge improvements in processing times. A good recent hekaton use cases article talks about applications that need a “Shock Absorber” when either spikes or just a high rate of incoming workload (including data in ETL scenarios) become a primary bottleneck. To get a really deep look at this technology, I would check out David DeWitt's summit keynote tomorrow (it will be live streamed). Other than that, to get started I'd recommend Kalen Delaney's whitepaper. She offers a lot of insight into how it works and how to start to define memory-optimized tables, and natively compiled stored procedures. These memory-optimized tables uses completely optimistic multi-version concurrency control – no waiting on locks! After that, Tom LaRock has compiled a useful set of links to drill deeper, and includes one to Microsoft's AMR tool to help you gauge the tables that might benefit most. Tony.

  • "Are You There?".. India Tops Logistics List of Emerging Nations

    - by [email protected]
It's just amazing how far, wide and deep modern supply chains are extending. AMR reported on 15 Apr (M.Burkett, A.Reese) in a SCM webcast that 'Penetrating Emerging Markets" was the top priotiy for organizations based on a recent survey. I took this as both adding new consumers to their prospect-list as well as leveraging 'lower cost labor arbitrage". (Read '3 Billion Capitalists") Supply Chain Quarterly reports that India and Brazil received the highest ranking of the logistics markets in developing nations India tops the list of emerging nations that scores the attractiveness of logistics markets to foreign investors. Developed by the UK-based research firm Transport Intelligence, the new  Emerging Market Logistics Index rated 38 developing countries on 3 factors. 1. "Market size and growth attractiveness," considered a country's economic output, projected growth rate, and population size.  2. "Market compatibility," which examined how well-matched a nation was with the services offered by global logistics providers. This includes a country's security levels, market accessibility, foreign direct investment, distribution of wealth and population, and development of its service sector. 3. "Connectedness," which rated the efficiency of customs and border controls, liner shipping connections, and transportation infrastructure. India claimed the top spot due to its market size and growth prospects. Brazil is second because of its economic performance, good levels of market accessibility, and improving domestic and international transport connections. Are you there? • How to ensure YouTube API only returns videos that are playable on iPhone?

    - by prendio2
I'm building some YouTube search functionality into an iPhone app and want to ensure that I only receive results that will be playable on the device. According to the Searching for videos section in the API reference doc this seems to be relatively straightforward: The format parameter specifies that videos must be available in a particular video format. Your request can specify any of the following formats: I've currently set my project to only return videos with "format=1" which will limit to: RTSP streaming URL for mobile video playback. H.263 video (up to 176x144) and AMR audio. I'd love if someone could confirm that this is in fact the appropriate setting or let me know if I'm missing something. Cheers.

  • Mouse receiver stopped working after pairing mouse to an unifying receiver

    - by mp19uy
I bought this mouse, logitech m510, which came with a nano receiver (no-unifying). Yes I know, the mouse is supposed to come with a unifying receiver but I bought it knowing that it won't come on it's original package and it will come with a no-unifying receiver. When I received it, everything worked ok but, after connecting the mouse to another computer using an unifying receiver (that also worked ok, btw), then, when I tried to connect back the mouse to my computer using the no-unifying receiver, I couldn't connect it. I tried everything from removing the batteries and reinstalling the drivers to restarting the computer and trying in different computers, but I couldn't connect them. What I think it happened, is that in fact if you check the documentation of the logitech m510 it says that it works with unifying receivers only, and even more, there is the following article explaining it: http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/18001/~/using-my-m510-with-a-different-usb-receiver So my theory is that the problem was connecting it to a unifying receiver, and now, isn't recognize by another receiver. The receiver (the no-unifying one) itself is recognized by windows, and if I connect the mouse using a unifying receiver, it works. I would like to know if there is any know solution for this or if I can try something else to see if I can solve this.

  • Three ways to upload/post/convert iMovie to YouTube

    - by user44251
For Mac users, iMovie is probably a convenient tool for making, editing their own home movies so as to upload to YouTube for sharing with more people. However, uploading iMovie files to YouTube can't be always a smooth run, I did notice many people complaining about it. This article is delivered for guiding those who are haunted by the nightmare by providing three common ways to upload iMovie files to YouTube. YouTube and iMovie YouTube is the most popular video sharing website for users to upload, share and view videos. It empowers anyone with an Internet connection the ability to upload video clips and share them with friends, family and the world. Users are invited to leave comments, pick favourites, send messages to each other and watch videos sorted into subjects and channels. YouTube accepts videos uploaded in most container formats, including WMV (Windows Media Video), 3GP (Cell Phones), AVI (Windows), MOV (Mac), MP4 (iPod/PSP), FLV (Adobe Flash), MKV (H.264). These include video codecs such as MP4, MPEG and WMV. iMovie is a common video editing software application comes with every Mac for users to edit their own home movies. It imports video footage to the Mac using either the Firewire interface on most MiniDV format digital video cameras, the USB port, or by importing the files from a hard drive where users can edit the video clips, add titles, and add music. Since 1999, eight versions of iMovie have been released by Apple, each with its own functions and characteristic, and each of them deal with videos in a way more or less different. But the most common formats handled with iMovie if specialty discarded as far as to my research are MOV, DV, HDV, MPEG-4. Three ways for successful upload iMovie files to YouTube Solution one and solution two suitable for those who are 100 certainty with their iMovie files which are fully compatible with YouTube. For smooth uploading, you are required to get a YouTube account first. Solution 1: Directly upload iMovie to YouTube Step 1: Launch iMovie, select the project you want to upload in YouTube. Step 2: Go to the file menu, click Share, select Export Movie Step 3: Specify the output file name and directory and then type the video type and video size. Solution 2: Post iMovie to YouTube straightly Step 1: Launch iMovie, choose the project you want to post in YouTube Step 2: From the Share menu, choose YouTube Step 3: In the pop-up YouTube windows, specify the name of your YouTube account, the password, choose the Category and fill in the description and tags of the project. Tick Make this movie more private on the bottom of the window, if possible, to limit those who can view the project. Click Next, and then click Publish. iMovie will automatically export and upload the movie to YouTube. Step 4: Click Tell a Friend to email friends and your family about your film. You are also allowed to copy the URL from Tell a Friend window and paste it into an email you created in your favourite email application if you like. Anyone you send to email to will be able to follow the URL directly to your movie. Note: Videos uploaded to YouTube are limited to ten minutes in length and a file size of 2GB. Solution 3: Upload to iMovie after conversion If neither of the above mentioned method works, there is still a third way to turn to. Sometimes, your iMovie files may not be recognized by YouTube due to the versions of iMovie (settings and functions may varies among versions), video itself (video format difference because of file extension, resolution, video size and length), compatibility (videos that are completely incompatible with YouTube). In this circumstance, the best and reliable method is to convert your iMovie files to YouTube accepted files, iMovie to YouTube converter will be inevitably the ideal choice. iMovie to YouTube converter is an elaborately designed tool for convert iMovie files to YouTube workable WMV, 3GP, AVI, MOV, MP4, FLV, MKV for smooth uploading with hard-to-believe conversion speed and second to none output quality. It can also convert between almost all popular popular file formats like AVI, WMV, MPG, MOV, VOB, DV, MP4, FLV, 3GP, RM, ASF, SWF, MP3, AAC, AC3, AIFF, AMR, WAV, WMA etc so as to put on various portable devices, import to video editing software or play on vast amount video players. iMovie to YouTube converter can also served as an excellent video editing tool to meet your specific program requirements. For example, you can cut your video files to a certain length, or split your video files to smaller ones and select the proper resolution suitable for demands of YouTube by Clip or Settings separately. Crop allows you to cut off unwanted black edges from your videos. Besides, you can also have a good command of the whole process or snapshot your favourite pictures from the preview window. More can be expected if you have a try.

    I have the following code to launch a file : try { path = fileJsonObject.getString("filePath"); if (path.indexOf("/") == 0) { path = path.substring(1, path.length()); } path = root + path; final File fileToOpen = new File(path); if (fileToOpen.exists()) { if (fileToOpen.isFile()) { Intent myIntent = new Intent(android.content.Intent.ACTION_VIEW); myIntent.setData(Uri.parse(path)); final String pathToCheck = new String(path); pathToCheck.toLowerCase(); if (pathToCheck.endsWith(".wav") || pathToCheck.endsWith(".ogg") || pathToCheck.endsWith(".mp3") || pathToCheck.endsWith(".mid") || pathToCheck.endsWith(".midi") || pathToCheck.endsWith(".amr")) { myIntent.setType("audio/*"); } else if (pathToCheck.endsWith(".mpg") || pathToCheck.endsWith(".mpeg") || pathToCheck.endsWith(".3gp") || pathToCheck.endsWith(".mp4")) { myIntent.setType("video/*"); } else if (pathToCheck.endsWith(".jpg") || pathToCheck.endsWith(".jpeg") || pathToCheck.endsWith(".gif") || pathToCheck.endsWith(".png") || pathToCheck.endsWith(".bmp")) { myIntent.setType("image/*"); } else if (pathToCheck.endsWith(".txt") || pathToCheck.endsWith(".csv") || pathToCheck.endsWith(".xml")) { Log.i("txt","Text fileeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"); myIntent.setType("text/*"); } else if (pathToCheck.endsWith(".gz") || pathToCheck.endsWith(".rar") || pathToCheck.endsWith(".zip")) { myIntent.setType("package/*"); } else if (pathToCheck.endsWith(".apk")) { myIntent.setType("application/vnd.android.package-archive"); } ((Activity) context).startActivityForResult(myIntent, RequestCodes.LAUNCH_FILE_CODE); } else { errUrl = resMsgHandler.errMsgResponse(fileJsonObject, "Incorrect path provided. please give correct path of file"); return errUrl; } } else { errUrl = resMsgHandler.errMsgResponse(fileJsonObject,"Incorrect path provided. please give correct path of file"); return errUrl; } } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); Log.i("err","Unable to launch file" + " " + e.getMessage()); errUrl = resMsgHandler.errMsgResponse(fileJsonObject, "Unable to launch file" + " " + e.getMessage()); return errUrl; } @Override protected void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub super.onActivityResult(requestCode, resultCode, data); try { if (requestCode == RequestCodes.LAUNCH_FILE_CODE) { if (resultCode == RESULT_CANCELED) { Log.i("err","errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"); String errUrl = responseMsgHandler.errMsgResponse(FileHandler.fileJsonObject, "Unable to launch file"); mWebView.loadUrl(errUrl); } else if (resultCode == RESULT_OK) { String successUrl = responseMsgHandler.launchfileResponse(FileHandler.fileJsonObject); mWebView.loadUrl(successUrl); } Amd the result ctrl is at "if (resultCode == RESULT_CANCELED)". So how to successfully launch this? May be in short i am doing this: final File fileToOpen = new File(path); if (fileToOpen.exists()) { if (fileToOpen.isFile()) { Intent myIntent = new Intent(android.content.Intent.ACTION_VIEW); myIntent.setData(Uri.parse(path)); if (pathToCheck.endsWith(".txt") || pathToCheck.endsWith(".csv") || pathToCheck.endsWith(".xml")) { Log.i("txt","Text fileeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"); myIntent.setType("text/*"); startActivityForResult(myIntent, RequestCodes.LAUNCH_FILE_CODE); and @Override protected void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub super.onActivityResult(requestCode, resultCode, data); if (requestCode == RequestCodes.LAUNCH_FILE_CODE) { if (resultCode == RESULT_CANCELED) { Log.i ("err","errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"); String errUrl = responseMsgHandler.errMsgResponse(FileHandler.fileJsonObject, "Unable to launch file"); mWebView.loadUrl(errUrl); } else if (resultCode == RESULT_OK) { String successUrl = responseMsgHandler.launchfileResponse(FileHandler.fileJsonObject); mWebView.loadUrl(successUrl); } My err log: 04-04 10:53:57.077: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(6861): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to start activity ComponentInfo{com.tf.thinkdroid.sstablet/com.tf.thinkdroid.write.editor.WriteEditorActivity}: java.lang.NullPointerException 04-04 10:53:57.077: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(6861): at android.app.ActivityThread.performLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:2663) 04-04 10:53:57.077: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(6861): at android.app.ActivityThread.handleLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:2679) ..... 04-04 10:53:57.077: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(6861): Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException 04-04 10:53:57.077: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(6861): at com.tf.thinkdroid.common.app.TFActivity.storeDataToFileIfNecessary(Unknown Source) 04-04 10:53:57.077: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(6861): at com.tf.thinkdroid.common.app.TFActivity.onPostCreate(Unknown Source) ...   • Three ways to upload/post/convert iMovie to YouTube

    - by user351686

  • How can I get FreeNAS to respond to libvirt shutdown requests

    - by ptomli
I have a KVM VM of FreeNAS 0.7.1 Shere (revision 5127) running on Ubuntu Server 10.04 and I'm unable to convince the VM to shutdown from the host virsh shutdown freenas I would expect this to send some ACPI? trigger to the VM and FreeNAS then do what it's told. I'm not a FreeBSD fundi so I don't really know what packages or processes to poke to get this running.
