• Dynamic localization with Data Annotations possible?

  Hi, I'm trying to dynamicly update the language of a Silverlight application. I tried the example provided by Tim Heuer and that was exactly wat I needed. Silverlight and localizing string data Now I'm experimenting with Data Annotations and would like to have the same behaviour.But with no luck... Can someone point me in the right direction. • What's the thought behind Children and Controls properties in WPF?

  I don't know if this should go on Programmers, but I thought it was relevant here. Being a skilled WPF programmer myself, I often wonder what people were thinking when they designed WPF in terms of naming conventions. Why would you sometimes have a property called Children for accessing the children of the control, and then sometimes have an equivalent property, just called Controls instead? What were they thinking here? Another example is the Popup control. Instead of a Content property, it has a Child property. Why would you do that? To me that's just confusing. So I'm wondering if there's a logical reason for it, which would probably also help me understand what the properties are called next time I need to do some speed-programming. If there's no reason behind it, then all I can say is WAT.

• Unable to authenticate in imap server through windows application

  In C#,I'm using LumiSoft.Net.IMAP.Client library to connect to the imap server and I'm viewing my emails through that class library... I used it for more than 5 months. Now, when I tried to authenticate, it shows the following exception (even though the server is connected..) Server returned:CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 UNSELECT LITERAL+ IDLE NAMESPACE QUOTA ID XLIST CHILDREN X-GM-EXT-1 UIDPLUS COMPRESS=DEFLATE I searched for this error. • Convert PDF to PDF/A-1

  I know this probably is not strictly a programming-question (well maybe it is, i don't know) but i'm having serious problems trying to convert a regular pdf (with hyperlinks, bookmarks, images, embedded fonts etc.) into a PDF/A-1 format. I get all kinds of errors when i check it with pdfaPilot. How can i prepare a pdf so no problems will occur when i try to convert to PDF/A-1. Most problems can be fixed with pdfaPilot but apparently not all. One of the problems i get is with the XMP Metadata which are "not properly defined". Wat exactly does this mean, and can i do something to prevent this. Another one is: "Syntax problem: Array with more than 8191 elements" (i hope this one is solvable) I hope someone can help me out here, since i'm in a tight spot right now with deadlines that are killing me.

  Ok so I have a php page with data dynamically outputs depending on a $_GET variable ['file']. I have another page (index.php) which has a jQuery script that uses the load() function to load the php page. I have a list of links and when you click on one, it needs to change the $_GET variable to load, then refresh the load() jQuery variable. Heres a snippet: $("#remote-files").load("data.php?file=wat.txt"); $(".link1").mousedown(function() { $("#remote-files").load("data.php?file=link1.txt"); }); As you can see it loads the data into a div with the ID of remote-files. Is there a better way to do this, like update the page with the new get variable instead of redefining a new load function?

  I have a question about XSS Can forms be used as a vector for XSS even if the data is not stored in the database and used at a later point? i.e. in php the code would be this: <form input="text" value="<?= @$_POST['my_field'] ?>" name='my_field'> Showing an alert box (demonstrate that JS can be run) on your own browser is trivial with the code above. But is this exploitable across browsers as well? The only scenario I see is where you trick someone into visiting a certain page, i.e. a combination of CSRF and XSS. "Stored in a database and used at a later point": the scenario I understand about CSS is where you're able to post data to a site that runs JavaScript and is shown on a page in a browser that has greater/different privileges than your own. But, to be clear, this is not wat I'm talking about above.

  Hi After scouring the web I have edited my question from the one below to what it is now. Ok I seem to understand that I don't need all the capabilities of excel right now. I think i am satisfied having a data grid to display data. Basically i am working on Struts 2 and I wat my jsp page to have an excel like feel and hence looks like even a datagrid is sufficient. • Restricting Directory access from web application context

  i have a web application which stores users file in directory which is under webroot directory.. Suppose web application is under 'fileupload' and all files are getting stored in 'xyz' folder under 'fileupload' so now if user points to url say like www.xyzpqr.com/fileupload/xyz/abc.doc, he gets that file. How do i restirct this from happening.. i have thought of putting xyz folder in WeB-inf folder but as my application is very big i have to made changes at too many places.. so is there any way so that without moving the folder to web-inf (restricted folders) i can achieve wat i want..

  hi, i have an webserivce written where i do an insertion opertion to DB. path :http://localhost:1838/Ajax/WebService.asmx?wsdl.name of the webservice is localhost i have added webservice for the project now on button click event i try to call this webserice like this localhost obj= new localhost(); obj.insert(); now i am able to do the insertion operation fine. but i wanted to create an proxy for the webservice so wat is the use of it doing like tat? when i run this command in my command prompt in vs wsdl /out:myProxyClass.cs http://localhost:1838/Ajax/WebService.asmx?WSDL i get an error unable to connect the remote server. no connection would be made because the target machine actively refused it looking forward for an solution any help would great thank you

  Hi there, I am using phpQuery in order to apply some twaks to editorial content. As its syntax is the same as jQuery, I consider this a dom scripting issue. To get rid of elements which are not representing anything, but wrapping other stuff (like the div in <div><p>blah</p></div> I came up with this selector: ['div:not([align][class][id][style][title][dir][lang][onclick][ondblclick][onmousedown] [onmouseup][onmouseover][onmousemove][onmouseout][onkeypress][onkeydown][onkeyup])'] which looks quite monstrous for a selector simply aming on Divs which just do not have any (valid) attribute. I guess there must be a more straight-forward way to accomplish that, right? Edit: Oh, and I just noticed that it even doesn't do wat I intended to ...

• Getting All categories in external page.

  This is very basic magento question i guess. I want to first get all the store categories, then loop through them to get their sub-categories and products and similarly continue till the last sub-category. I will be using this in an external page having Mage::app() declared at the top of the page. I am not aware of the Magento API's(if thats wat they are called) to use to get this functionality. Remember I am not using this in any of the templates, so something like getCurrentCategory() will not work here i guess. Also please guide if there are any good resources to search for particular functionality in magento and API's to implement it, or am i doomed to go through their phpdoc to know the list of methods.   Hi friends, i am building one app almost similar to contact management system...in which i have a detail view .. on pressing one of the table cells, a new view will be shown were the user can enter the new values and on pressing the save button the values will be updated in the database. On going back to the detail view the user should be able to see the updated values in the table cells.. or how can i update the values in detail view from another view...? i came to know that this can be acheived through Appdelegate objects ... but i couldnt understand wat is it or how it is done.... may be bcuz i am new to iPhone apps development...   There is a Dell XPS 400 with Windows Media Center installer. It is installed on RAID (Intel Matrix Storage) which is built-in chipset south bridge. Raid has two 150 Gb WDC drivers connected as mirror. All drivers and updates are installed( sp3 and so on). A week ago PC changed its video mode to 256 colors (like VESA mode) and after several moments I got BSOD: c000021a: 0xc0000005 Doctor watson did not create dump although it is installed as default debugger. After reboot it said that config file is missing or corrupted. So, I boot to recovery console and found that registry file (config) is so small. I've replaced it with one from recovery point and windows booted sucessfully. But after about 3 hrs -- it has crashed again in the same wat! I look in event viewer: is said that Explorer.exe failed to open \global??\DLIAFS. I look in winobj, and found that it is a device. I made "deny from everyone" for this device ACL, and after several hours my windows crashed. I restored registry, boot again and there was no error about DLIAFS. I did full chkdsk and it did not found anything bad. But I found event about error paging to \Harddrive1\D. I do not have pagefile there, but I thought I should check my disk again. Unfortunatelly I cannt use smart tools for RAID, but I downloaded latest software from Intel (it can do the same things like RAID bios can but from windows). It verified my disks, found some errors, fix them, than I rebooted. And it crashed again. I am lost. What (except kernel debugging) could be done here? Thanks
