  • I receive email not addressed to me - virus?

    Every once in a while I receive email (on Gmail) that isn't addressed to me. Gmail puts it in the spam box, because it 'can't verify that it has been sent by [sender]'. The emails, when opened, contain confidential information about deliveries and paid bills (it does look an awful lot like 'real' mail from well-known companies, and it doesn't look like a scam, since the mail is informative - they give information instead of asking for credit card numbers ;-)), and I even got an email from "Facebook" that I requested a password change and that I have to 'click here' to change the password for [email address that isn't mine]. I am not the only addressee, there seems to be a whole list of Gmail addresses beginning with 'a'. The original addressee obviously has some sort of virus, and now I wonder if this could be a risk for me too. Is my email being sent around without my knowing too? I am not the kind of person who randomly clicks on shady links - I am very careful on the internet - but maybe there are other ways of catching viruses? Is there something I should do/check?     I met some trouble with a function I have written. In fact I have an array in which I have different custom values.   • Grep Crystal Reports (with Sub-reports)

    I need a way to quickly search a large number of Crystal reports (with sub-reports) for the names of several stored procedures. (Trying to find dependencies.) I'm running Windows XP and downloaded this grep program - http://www.wingrep.com/download.htm. So far, I'm not convinced that it's working. Does anyone know of a reliable way, other than opening each report and sub-report, to search Crystal reports for the existence of a file name? Thanks in advance for any tips.

  • Silverlight standard loading animation does not get displayed.

    Can anybody enlighten me as to how the standard Silverlight loading animations (the swirling blue balls) are embedded in a Silverlight application and how they work? I currently don't see it although loading the xap takes long enough for the loading animation to be displayed. The problem is that I'm creating a xap dynamically and trying to write it to the Response Stream which might somehow interfere with the way most Silverlight applications work. So maybe there's something missing from the original aspx page or ClientBin that should be there that has been lost by accident. I haven't found any helpful information about how the loading animation is integrated into Silverlight that could help me debug the problem so far. Does anyone know what the animation needs to triggered as expected?

  • How to check if a generic type definition inherits from another generic type definition

    I'm trying to check whether an open generic type definition implements some open generic interface. Look at the sample below: public interface IService<T> { } public class ServiceImpl<T> : IService<T> { } private static bool OpenGenericTypeImplementsOpenGenericInterface( Type derivedType, Type interfaceType) { return derivedType.GetInterfaces().Contains(interfaceType); } [TestMethod] public void Verify() { Type openGenericImplementation = typeof(ServiceImpl<>); Type expectedInterfaceType = typeof(IService<>); bool implDoesImplementInterface = OpenGenericTypeImplementsOpenGenericInterface( openGenericImplementation, expectedInterfaceType); // This assert fails. Why? Assert.IsTrue(implDoesImplementInterface); } I found out that the returned type from the Type.GetInterfaces() method does not match the type returned from typeof(IService<>). I can't figure out why that is and how to correctly validate whether some generic type definition inherits or implements some other generic type definition. What's going on here and how do I solve fix this problem?

  • FilePageSetupHeader in MS Project VBA project: Display image dynamically

    I want to display an image when printing a page from MS Page using the FilePageSetupHeader. It all works fine if I pass in the parameter for the Text property as a string as such FilePageSetupHeader Alignment:=pjRight, Text:="&P""C:\filepath\image.gif""" However, I'd prefer to be able to pass the filepath to the image to display as a variable. Somehow I can't get it right. So if I try something like the following: vImagePath = """&P""""" & prjFilePath & "\image.gif"""""" FilePageSetupHeader Alignment:=pjRight, Text:=vImagePath it just displays the path as a string. I'm pretty sure it boils down to something simple like escaping the quotes in the correct way, but I've been playing around with it for a while now and I can't seem to get it right. Any idea how this works?

    Dim sString sString = "John;Mary;Anne;Adam;Bill;Ester" Is there a regex I can use to retrieve the following from the above list: John (; at the end of the name) Anne (; at the beginning and end) Ester (; at the beginning) I am currently using the following regex for each: 1. Joh.* 2. .*An.* 3. .*st.* But, the above retrieves the entire string instead of the values I want. How can I get the correct values? Code: Dim oRegex : Set oRegex = New RegExp oRegex.Global = False oRegex.IgnoreCase = False 'John oRegex.Pattern = "Joh.*" Set oMatch = oRegex.Execute(sString) sName = oMatch(0) The above code retrieves the entire string, instead of only John. Same issue with the others :(

  • Debugging an XBAP application with 64-bit browser

    We have an XBAP application that fails when opened in Internet Explorer 8 64 bit. We only get a pretty generic error which makes it hard to determine where the error is coming from. I'm trying to find a way to debug the application with IE 8 64 bit, but I haven't figured out how to do this. I can't set the 64 bit version as the standard browser and overwriting the browser path in the browsers.xml for Visual Studio doesn't work as well. It just gets overwritten as soon as I hit F5 to debug to point to the 32 bit IE. I have figured out how to start the application from Debug with the 64 bit browser by changing the Debug options from "Start browser with URL" to "Start external program" and setting the command line arguments to point to the bin folder. Unfortunately then the XBAP is looking for its config.deploy file which doesn't seem to be generated during regular debug. This doesn't happen when using "Start browser with URL" and the application doesn't seem to care for this file then. Does anybody know why there's a difference between "Start browser with URL" and "Start external program" in the Debug options which might cause this difference in behavior when Debug is started? Also, does anybody know how to successfully debug an XBAP with a 64-bit browser?

    I am able to load my XML file into flash and trace results. Want to populate listbox with information from xml file.   • Good or common naming conventions for xsd target namespaces

    I'm looking for some ideas for good naming conventions for xsd target namespaces. Basically I just need to make a definite decision on how to name the target namespace of my xsd so I try to get it right the first time. Changing it later would require changes to another system which is not in my control. Do you have any experience from past XML schema creations on what is a good and working solution? I've tried to find information online, but most examples just use very generic target namespaces like "http://exampleSchema" and similar. I'm actually trying to find some real life examples.

  • Retrieving the MethodInfo of of the correct overload of a generic method

    I have this type that contains two overloads of a generic method. I like to retrieve one of the overloads (with the Func<T> parameter) using reflection. The problem however is that I can't find the correct parameter type to supply the Type.GetMethod(string, Type[]) method with. Here is my class definition: public class Foo { public void Bar<T>(Func<T> f) { } public void Bar<T>(Action<T> a) { } } And this is what I've come up with, unfortunately without succes: [TestMethod] public void Test1() { Type parameterType = typeof(Func<>); var method = typeof(Foo).GetMethod("Bar", new Type[] { parameterType }); Assert.IsNotNull(method); // Fails } How can I get the MethodInfo of a generic method of which I know the parameters?

  • Can you pass parameters for OnAction in MS Project VBA?

    The way I can define a method to be executed with OnAction in VBA with Microsoft Project is as follows (and works correctly): .OnAction = "Macro ""DoSomething""" ... where DoSomething is the method to execute. I would like to pass a parameter to that method but can't find a way to pass it with this syntax. Does anybody have an idea how to do this? I'm getting the feeling that this is an impossible task, but maybe there's some VBA secret I'm not aware of. Please note that VBA in MS Project seems to have its quirks and is slightly different than VBA for Excel or Access. This seems to be the case for the OnAction property which needs the extra Macro keyword to work correctly. If I'm wrong here please enlighten me.

  • Create a modifiable string literal in C++

    Is it possible to create a modifiable string literal in C++? For example: char* foo[] = { "foo", "foo" }; char* afoo = foo[0]; afoo[2] = 'g'; // access violation This produces an access violation because the "foo"s are allocated in read only memory (.rdata section I believe). Is there any way to force the "foo"s into writable memory (.data section)? Even via a pragma would be acceptable! (Visual Studio compiler) I know I can do strdup and a number of other things to get around the problem, but I want to know specifically if I can do as I have asked. :)

    I have the following function: $('td:eq(' + iColumn + ') input', oSettings.oApi._fnGetTrNodes(oSettings)) .each(function () { aData.push(this.value); }); In typescript I am getting a message saying: Error 3 Function declared a non-void return type, but has no return expression Why am I getting this message? I can resolve the message by saying "return true". Should I always specify a return type for this?

This worked when the value was not inside an input: var tds = $(this).find('td'), text = tds.filter('[id^="refKey_"]').text(), It is supposed to get the Value of the Inputs with id's that start with TempRowKey_ and then use these for padding. But the code does nothing. Here is my HTML: <tr id="row_1"> <td id="tempRowKey_1" > <input type="text" size="10" value="1.0.0" class="updatable" id="TempRowKey_1"> </td> <td id="title_1"> <input id="Title_1" class="updatable" type="text" value="zxxx" size="100" name="item.Title"> </td>. <td ... </tr> Is there some way I can test this. I can't get access to anything inside the jQuery block?

Would I need to use regex twice and can I change the inside of the <a ... >...</a> using regex or is there an easier way with C#?

    I have the following html: <span class="icon-top-margin-4 margin-right sprite-book-open"></span> <p>Topic: No Topic Title</p> and CSS: .icon-top-margin-4 { background-color: red; content: " "; background-image: url(/Images/fugue/sprite.png); background-repeat: no-repeat; display: inline-block; height: 16px; vertical-align:bottom; width: 16px; line-height: 16px; } .sprite-book-open{ background-position: 0 -288px; } What I would like is for the paragraph to start after the icon but it starts on a new line. Is there a way that I can make it start on the same line as the icon? I did try float left on the paragraph but that makes it go before the icon.

  • How to write a CASE WHEN statement with multiple DATEDIFF variables

    I need to calculate the difference between two dates (facility_start_date, facility_end_date) for a report in Reporting Services in SQL 2005. If the facility_end_date is null then it needs to use the report parameter @EndDate in the calculation. However if the facility_end_date is greater than the parameter @EndDate, then it also needs to use the paramenter @EndDate. The code below works fine except that if the facility_end_date is greater than the parameter @EndDate it is still calculating between the facility_start_date and facility_end_date, rather than between the facility_start_date and @EndDate. Any help would be appreciated.   • How to calibrate ASUS k52f battery on Ubuntu?

    I'm not sure if the problem is in software or my battery is dying, I'll move my question to another forum if it's not a SO question I have a problem with the battery on my laptop - ASUS K52F. It shows incorrect information about capacity. When I unplug the charger it can work some time, but then it will power off without any warnings. Sometimes it will power off right after I unplug the charger.
