  • WPF HiercharchicalDataTemplate.DataType: How to react on interfaces?

    - by David Schmitt
Problem I've got a collection of IThings and I'd like to create a HierarchicalDataTemplate for a TreeView. The straightforward DataType={x:Type local:IThing} of course doesn't work, probably because the WPF creators didn't want to handle the possible ambiguities. Since this should handle IThings from different sources at the same time, referencing the implementing class is out of question. Current solution For now I'm using a ViewModel which proxies IThing through a concrete implementation: public interface IThing { string SomeString { get; } ObservableCollection<IThing> SomeThings { get; } // many more stuff } public class IThingViewModel { public IThing Thing { get; } public IThingViewModel(IThing it) { this.Thing = it; } } <!-- is never applied --> <HierarchicalDataTemplate DataType="{x:Type local:IThing}"> <!-- is applied, but looks strange --> <HierarchicalDataTemplate DataType="{x:Type local:IThingViewModel}" ItemsSource="{Binding Thing.SomeThings}"> <TextBox Text="{Binding Thing.SomeString}"/> </HierarchicalDataTemplate> Question Is there a better (i.e. no proxy) way?

  • Is there a literal notation for decimal in IronPython?

    - by jeroenh
suppose I have the following IronPython script: def Calculate(input): return input * 1.21 When called from C# with a decimal, this function returns a double: var python = Python.CreateRuntime(); dynamic engine = python.UseFile("mypythonscript.py") decimal input = 100M; // input is of type Decimal // next line throws RuntimeBinderException: // "cannot implicitly convert double to decimal" decimal result = engine.Calculate(input); I seem to have two options: First, I could cast at the C# side: seems like a no-go as I might loose precision. decimal result = (decimal)engine.Calculate(input); Second option is to use System.Decimal in the python script: works, but pollutes the script, which should be understandable for my users... import clr import System def CalculateVAT(amount): return amount * System.Decimal(1.21) Is there a way to tell the DLR that the number 1.21 should be interpreted as a Decimal, much like I would use the '1.21M' notation in C#?

  • How would you handle making an array or list that would have more entries than the standard implemen

    - by faceless1_14
I am trying to create an array or list that could handle in theory, given adequate hardware and such, as many as 100^100 BigInteger entries. The problem with using an array or standard list is that they can only hold Integer.MAX_VALUE number of entries. How would you work around this limitations? A whole new class/interface? A wrapper for list? another data type entirely?

  • Time DataType in Sql Server 2005

    - by MadBoy
I've created small database under SQL Server 2008. Now i wanted to move it to SQL Server 2005 and it doesn't work since it doesn't have Time datatype. What option do I have to store only time in SQL Server 2005. I've written small TimeSheet application which needs to write hours and minutes mostly in format like 05:30:00 (hh:mm:ss) but ss is optional.

  • C++ long long manipulation

    - by Krakkos
Given 2 32bit ints iMSB and iLSB int iMSB = 12345678; // Most Significant Bits of file size in Bytes int iLSB = 87654321; // Least Significant Bits of file size in Bytes the long long form would be... // Always positive so use 31 bts long long full_size = ((long long)iMSB << 31); full_size += (long long)(iLSB); Now.. I don't need that much precision (that exact number of bytes), so, how can I convert the file size to MiBytes to 3 decimal places and convert to a string... tried this... long double file_size_megs = file_size_bytes / (1024 * 1024); char strNumber[20]; sprintf(strNumber, "%ld", file_size_megs); ... but dosen't seem to work. i.e. 1234567899878Bytes = 1177375.698MiB ??

  • Add new types to Go

    - by nevalu
I'm trying add new types for that been managed/used as in Go core types. To create new types is anything very interesting to validate data before of send it to a non-SQL DBMS or to check data from a form. Go uses univeral constants to define them at global level: var DateType = universe.DefineType("date", universePos, &dateType{}) In this case they're defined to be called from a package like types: var Date = &dateType{} I get these errors: test.go:58: o.lit undefined (cannot refer to unexported field lit) test.go:62: *dateType is not Type missing Pos() token.Position The code is based on: http://github.com/tav/go/blob/master/src/pkg/exp/eval/value.go http://github.com/tav/go/blob/master/src/pkg/exp/eval/type.go package main import ( "exp/eval" "fmt" // "go/token" ) // http://github.com/tav/go/blob/master/src/pkg/exp/eval/value.go type DateValue interface { eval.Value Get(*eval.Thread) string Set(*eval.Thread, string) } /* Date */ type dateV string func (v *dateV) String() string { return fmt.Sprint(*v) } func (v *dateV) Assign(t *eval.Thread, o eval.Value) { *v = dateV(o.(DateValue).Get(t)) } func (v *dateV) Get(*eval.Thread) string { return string(*v) } func (v *dateV) Set(t *eval.Thread, x string) { *v = dateV(x) } // http://github.com/tav/go/blob/master/src/pkg/exp/eval/type.go type Type interface { eval.Type // isDate returns true if this is a date type. isDate() bool } /* Common type */ type commonType struct{} // added func (commonType) isDate() bool { return false } /* Date */ type dateType struct { commonType } // * It should not be an universal constant //var universePos = token.Position{"<universe>", 0, 0, 0} // added //var DateType = universe.DefineType("date", universePos, &dateType{}) var Date = &dateType{} func (t *dateType) compat(o Type, conv bool) bool { t2, ok := o.lit().(*dateType) return ok && t == t2 } func (t *dateType) lit() Type { return t } func (t *dateType) isDate() bool { return true } func (t *dateType) String() string { return "<date>" } func (t *dateType) Zero() eval.Value { res := dateV("") return &res } /* Named types */ /* type NamedType struct { eval.NamedType Def Type }*/ type NamedType struct { // added // token.Position Name string // Underlying type. • PHP: Type hints for fields with Eclipse PDT

    - by Silvio Donnini
Using Eclipse + PDT, I know that you can specify the return type of a method or the type of a variable within a method via type hints. How about class fields? Can I declare the type of a field in order to enable autocompletion for that variable? I tried something on the lines of: class MyClass { protected $Field; /* @var $Field MyType */ ... but it doesn't work. Is there a way to achieve autocompletion of class fields with Eclipse and PDT? thanks, Silvio

  • IronPython/C# Float data comparison

    - by Gopalakrishnan Subramani
We have WPF based application using Prism Framework. We have embedded IronPython and using Python Unit Test framework to automate our application GUI testing. It works very well. We have difficulties in comparing two float numbers. Example class MyClass { public object Value { get; set;} public MyClass() { Value = (float) 12.345; } } In IronPython When I compare the MyClass Instance's Value property with python float value(12.345), it says it doesn't equal This statement raises assert error self.assertEqual(myClassInstance.Value, 12.345) This statement works fine. self.assertEqual(float(myClassInstance.Value.ToString()), 12.345) When I check the type of the type(myClassInstance.Value), it returns Single in Python where as type(12.345) returns float. How to handle the C# float to Python comparison without explicit conversions?

  • SSIS - How do I see/set the field types in a Recordset?

    - by thursdaysgeek
I'm looking at an inherited SSIS package, and a stored procedure is sending records to a recordset called USER:NEW_RECORDS. It's of type Object, and the value is System.Object. It is then used for inputting that data to a SQL table. We're getting an error, because it seems that the numeric results of the stored procedure are being put in a DT_WSTR field, and then failing when it is then put into a decimal field in the database. Most of the records are working, but one, which happens to have a longer number of decimal digits, is failing. I want to see exactly what my SSIS recordset field types are, and probably change them, so I can force the data to be truncated properly and copied. Or, perhaps, I'm not even looking at this correctly. The data is put into the recordset using a SQL Task that executes the stored procedure.

  • Mapping a boolean[] PostgreSql column with Hibernate

    - by teabot
I have a column in a PostgreSql database that is defined with type boolean[]. I wish to map this to a Java entity property using Hibernate 3.3.x. However, I cannot find a suitable Java type that Hibernate is happy to map to. I thought that the java.lang.Boolean[] would be the obvious choice, but Hibernate complains: Caused by: org.hibernate.HibernateException: Wrong column type in schema.table for column mycolumn. Found: _bool, expected: bytea at org.hibernate.mapping.Table.validateColumns(Table.java:284) at org.hibernate.cfg.Configuration.validateSchema(Configuration.java:1130) I have also tried the following property types without success: java.lang.String java.lang.boolean[] java.lang.Byte[] How can I map this column?

  • C# Custom data type!

    - by Betamoo
After I decided at last to implement my Int128 in C#, I thought it would be nice to make it look like other dotNet data types.. But I could not implement the following feature: suffix initialization: such as 13L and 0.2D Can I make my own suffix in C#? And if I can not.. how can I initialize it? i.e Int128 a= ??

  • "Pattern matching" of algebraic type data constructors

    - by jetxee
Let's consider a data type with many constructors: data T = Alpha Int | Beta Int | Gamma Int Int | Delta Int I want to write a function to check if two values are produced with the same constructor: sameK (Alpha _) (Alpha _) = True sameK (Beta _) (Beta _) = True sameK (Gamma _ _) (Gamma _ _) = True sameK _ _ = False Maintaining sameK is not much fun, it is potentially buggy. For example, when new constructors are added to T, it's easy to forget to update sameK. I omitted one line to give an example: -- it’s easy to forget: -- sameK (Delta _) (Delta _) = True The question is how to avoid boilerplate in sameK? Or how to make sure it checks for all T constructors? The workaround I found is to use separate data types for each of the constructors, deriving Data.Typeable, and declaring a common type class, but I don't like this solution, because it is much less readable and otherwise just a simple algebraic type works for me: {-# LANGUAGE DeriveDataTypeable #-} import Data.Typeable class Tlike t where value :: t -> t value = id data Alpha = Alpha Int deriving Typeable data Beta = Beta Int deriving Typeable data Gamma = Gamma Int Int deriving Typeable data Delta = Delta Int deriving Typeable instance Tlike Alpha instance Tlike Beta instance Tlike Gamma instance Tlike Delta sameK :: (Tlike t, Typeable t, Tlike t', Typeable t') => t -> t' -> Bool sameK a b = typeOf a == typeOf b

  • C# Get Type of IEnumerable<TModel>

    - by Jimbo
I have a method to which I pass an IEnumerable<TModel>. Then depending on the type of TModel, the method carries out a set of instructions as below: public void MyMethod<TModel>(IEnumerable<TModel> items) where TModel : class { int operationType; switch (typeof(TModel)) { case typeof(MyModelOne): operationType = 1; break; case typeof(MyModelTwo): operationType = 2; break; case typeof(MyModelThree): operationType = 3; break; default: throw new Exception("The collection model passed to MyMethod is not recognized"); } ... } This doesnt work, I get the error: There is no application variable or memeber 'TModel'

  • Empty accessors do matter? Regarding value types and their modification

    - by Petr
Hi, I have following code that does not work due to "a" being a value typed. But I thought it would not work even without accessors, but it did: class Program { a _a //with accessors it WONT compile { get; set; } static void Main(string[] args) { Program p = new Program(); p._a.X = 5; //when both accessors are deleted, compiler does not //complain about _a.X not being as variable } } struct a { public int X; } It does not work as "a" is struct. But when I delete accessors from "_a" instance, it works. I do not understand why. Thanks

  • Generic C# Class: Set "Generic" Property

    - by BlaM
I'm quite new to C#, so I might have a problem that C# has a simple solution for. I have a generic class with a property of "generic" type. I want to have a function to set that property, but I need to convert it to do so. public class BIWebServiceResult<T> { public T Data; public delegate StatusCode StringToStatusCode(string Input); public void SetData(string Input, StringToStatusCode StringToError) { if (StringToError(Input) == 0) { if (Data is string[]) { Data = new string[1]; Data[0] = Input; } else if (Data is string) { Data = Input; } else if (Data is bool) { Data = DetectBool(Input); } } } private bool DetectBool(string Compare) { return Compare == "true"; } } The problem with that approach is, that it does not work :) (No that's not all code, just a snippet to show what my problem is) It doesn't even compile, because "Data = new string[]" can't work if Data is - for example - boolean. How do I implement a function that behaves differently depending on the type of my generic property?

  • How to put large text data (~20mb) into sql cs 3.5 database?

    - by Anindya Chatterjee
I am using following query to insert some large text data : internal static string InsertStorageItem = "insert into Storage(FolderName, MessageId, MessageDate, StorageData) values ('{0}', '{1}', '{2}', @StorageData)"; and the code I am using to execute this query is as follows : string content = "very very large data"; string query = string.Format(InsertStorageItem, "Inbox", "AXOGTRR1445/DSDS587444WEE", "4/19/2010 11:11:03 AM"); var command = new SqlCeCommand(query, _sqlConnection); var paramData = command.Parameters.Add("@StorageData", System.Data.SqlDbType.NText); paramData.Value = content; paramData.SourceColumn = "StorageData"; command.ExecuteNonQuery(); But at the last line I am getting this following error : System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeException was unhandled by user code Message=The data was truncated while converting from one data type to another. • GetDiskFreeSpaceEx reports wrong number of free bytes

    - by rboorgapally
__int64 i64FreeBytes unsigned __int64 lpFreeBytesAvailableToCaller, lpTotalNumberOfBytes, lpTotalNumberOfFreeBytes; // variables used to obtain // the free space on the drive GetDiskFreeSpaceEx (Manager.capDir, (PULARGE_INTEGER)&lpFreeBytesAvailableToCaller, (PULARGE_INTEGER)&lpTotalNumberOfBytes, (PULARGE_INTEGER)&lpTotalNumberOfFreeBytes); i64FreeBytes = lpTotalNumberOfFreeBytes; _tprintf(_T ("Number of bytes free on the drive:%I64u \n"), lpTotalNumberOfFreeBytes); I am working on a data management routine which is a Windows CE command line application. The above code shows how I get the number of free bytes on a particular drive which contains the folder Manager.capdir (it is the variable containing the full path name of the directory). My question is, the number of free bytes reported by the above code (the _tprintf statement) doesn't match with the number of free bytes of the drive (which i check by doing a right click on the drive). I wish to know if the reason for this difference?

  • Casting Between Data Types in C#

    I have (for example) an object of type A that I want to be able to cast to type B (similar to how you can cast an int to a float) Data types A and B are my own. Is it possible to define the rules by which this casting occurs? Example int a = 1; float b = (float)a; int c = (int)b;
