  • Drupal form being rendered before submit action

    - by alxp
    I have a Drupal module page where I am populating a form with a drop-down that contains a list of available parts of a set of files that the user can upload. Once the user uploads a file of a certain type, it removes that option from the list, and when all the available files are uploaded the form will not be rendered. The problem is that Drupal is drawing the form before it carries out the submit action, so it appears to the user that the operation didn't work until they reload the page. What is the common way to deal with this? Setting form_state['redirect'] to go to the page doesn't seem to work.

  • Drupal view filter to show only one of a certain item

    - by Joel
    I'm fairly new to Drupal, and am using Node Import to take a TSV file and turn it into nodes. I'm hitting a problem, though, with automating updates to the nodes. Again, I'd like to take a Tab Separated Values text file, and load it into my site via Node Import (or whatever else anyone might suggest) and then only show updated Nodes. Here's a specific example: I have a Node with the following info: StoreId Name Address Phone Contact 01 Name1 Address1 Phone1 Contact1 02 Name2 Address2 Phone2 Contact2 etc. The info pulls into the nodes just fine (Thank you Node Import!), but we also want to process updates to the nodes. So far I have two ideas... figure out how to delete duplicate (previous) instances of the same StoreID, or just save the node with the duplicate StoreID (and new other info) and just display the most current version. In Views, I can get it to show the nodes and everything, but I can't figure out how to only display the most recent version of each StoreID. A view of views would work, but I can't seem to get that to work, either. Any ideas or other approaches I could take? Thanks in advance for the help!

  • Drupal: Content in blocks from node_reference fields?

    - by Marco
    After only a few weeks of working with Drupal I've come up with a recurring problem, which I don't really have an optimal solution to, so I'm hoping that someone here might be able to give some best practice pointers. What I have is a region inside my node.tpl.php, which is populated with blocks that display content from two different CCK fields of the type node_reference. This works fine when displaying a single node. The problem appears when I need to use a view. For example, lets say I have a news listing, and a single news item view. When I display the single news item I can use the news node node_reference field to reference whatever material I would like to have in my sidebar, but when on the news listing view I would like to reference nodes separately. What would be the best practice to solve this? I'm having a few ideas, but none seem like the logical choice, how would you do?

  • Add image gallery to node in Drupal

    - by vian
    I'm using Image module for Drupal 6 and the submodule of Image Gallery. Image gallery is identified by taxonomy term of certain vocabulary. What I need is to attach Image Gallery View supplied with Image Gallery to certain node. I am now trying to use Views Attach to do this. But how can I pass an argument of taxonomy term for gallery to the view? Also I added the taxonomy term for gallery to be defined for both images and my node type. Is it ok?

  • Drupal - Getting node id from view to customise link in block

    - by hfidgen
    I got a little problem with Drupal (again) in that I'm trying to work out how I can build a block which is able to show the node ID of the view page the block is currently sitting on. I'm using views to build a large chunk of my site, but I need to be able to make "intelligent" blocks in PHP mode which will have dynamic content depending on what the view is displaying. So.. how can I go about finding the $nid which a view is currently displaying?! Any ideas?

  • Drupal: Views titles

    - by stef
    I have a View that outputs a page. Under Basic Settings I set a "title". When I load the page, I see that title as the page title (at top of the browser) - all good. How can I print this value out in the "Display output" .tpl file? The $title variable doesn't seem to hold any value here. Do I need to use a preprocess function? Thanks

I just realized that there is not the taxonomy field from Content:Taxonomy There is only Taxonomy:Term category and warning: "The content might be duplicated, use appropriate filters". Should I use this item ? What kind of filters should I use ? thanks

  • Drupal 6 vs Drupal 7 performance

    - by lifecoder
    Hi all. I want to start new project and stuck without idea what version to use. I have huge expirience with D6, and also one project (module developement) for D7. It looks like D7 slower, have bigger memory consumption and also have a lack of documentation by the moment. I don't need new CCK, Views and other - looks like I'll coding all features needed as modules. Is D7 have sweet parts now, or better way is develop project under D6? What way you choose for yourself, and why?

  • Drupal 5: CCK fields in custom content type

    - by Kuroki Kaze
    I have module that implements custom content type via NodeAPI hooks (hook_insert, hook_update etc). I want to add CCK field to this content type and populate it via hook_nodeapi calls like create or update (to show content nodes in Views). Problem is, I cannot access CCK fields for this content type. Sure, it's enabled on "Manage Fields" page, but when I load any node of this type with Devel module, I cannot see field attribute (field_flag) in node object. I can see it under "Dev Render" tab as part of "content" attribute, like $node-content['field_flag']['#value'], but if I assign value to $node-field_flag or $node-content['field_flag']['#value'] and call node_save, CCK fields are not saved. Maybe I must call some other function to save CCK fields? Or what may be wrong with this setup?

  • Drupal SQL injection attacks prevention and apostrophe handling in Forms

    - by jini
    in typical PHP applications I used to use mysql_real_escape_string before I did SQL inserts. However I am unable to do that in Drupal so would need some assistance. And without any sort of function like that, user input with apostrophes is breaking my code. Please suggest. Thank You My SQL is as follows: $sql = "INSERT INTO some_table (field1, field2) VALUES ('$field1', '$field2')"; db_query($sql);

  • Registering Drupal Menu Paths?

    - by Kevin
    If I am making a module, and want to have two custom paths: path/path/path/index.htm (calls drupal_get_form) and post to path/path/path/result.htm How do you do that? I get a 404 on the second path. I get the form and what I want with the first path easily enough. All I want to do is theme the form results as a drupal table and display it here.

  • How to implement hook_theme in drupal 7?

    - by solomon_wzs
    I created a new drupal 7 theme and trying to implement hook_theme at template.php like this: function mytheme_theme($existing, $type, $theme, $path){ return array( 'mytheme_header'=>array( 'template'=>'header', 'path'=>$path.'/templates', 'type'=>'theme', ), ); } then I placed header.tpl.php into templates directory and cleared all caches, and call theme function: theme('mytheme_header', $vars); but it did not work and render page with header.tpl.php. What's wrong with my code?

  • Drupal 6: How to quickly theme a view ?

    - by Pierre-Jean Coudert
    I've defined a view with the cck and view2 modules. I would like to quickly define a template specific to this view. Any tutorial or information on this ? What are the files I need to modify ? Here are my findings: (Edited) In fact there are two ways to theme a view : the "field" way and the "node" way. In "edit View", you can choose "Row style: Node", or "Row style: Fields". with the "Node" way, you can create a node-contentname.tpl.php wich will be called for each node in the view. You'll have access to your cck field values with $field_name[0]['value']. (edit2) You can use node-view-viewname.tpl.php wich will be only called for each node displayed from this view. with the "Field" way, you add a views-view-field--viewname--field-name-value.tpl.php for each field you want to theme individually. Thanks to previous responses, I've used the following tools : In the 'Basic Settings' block, the 'Theme: Information' to see all the different templates you can modify. The Devel module's "Theme developer" to quickly find the field variable names. View 2 documentation, especially the "Using Theme" page.

  • Drupal 7 Forms API Conditional Logic not working in IE

    - by Francis Yaconiello
    I have a drupal 7 form with a bunch of fields: $form['account_type'] = array( '#title' => t('Utility Account Type'), '#type' => 'select', '#options' => necp_enrollment_administration_portal_account_type_options(), '#required' => TRUE, '#default_value' => isset($form_state['values']['account_type']) ? $form_state['values']['account_type'] : '', ); // Should show if account_type = 1 $form['home_wrapper'] = array( '#type' => 'fieldset', '#states' => array( 'visible' => array( ':input[name="account_type"]' => array('value' => 1), ), ), ); $form['home_wrapper']['first_name_1'] = array( '#title' => t('Primary Account First Name'), '#type' => 'textfield', '#default_value' => isset($form_state['values']['first_name_1']) ? $form_state['values']['first_name_1'] : '', '#states' => array( 'required' => array( ':input[name="account_type"]' => array('value' => 1), ), ), ); $form['home_wrapper']['last_name_1'] = array( '#title' => t('Primary Account Last Name'), '#type' => 'textfield', '#default_value' => isset($form_state['values']['last_name_1']) ? $form_state['values']['last_name_1'] : '', '#states' => array( 'required' => array( ':input[name="account_type"]' => array('value' => 1), ), ), ); // Should show if account_type = 2 $form['business_wrapper'] = array( '#type' => 'fieldset', '#states' => array( 'visible' => array( ':input[name="account_type"]' => array('value' => 2), ), ), ); $form['business_wrapper']['company_name'] = array( '#title' => t('Company/Organization'), '#type' => 'textfield', '#default_value' => isset($form_state['values']['company_name']) ? $form_state['values']['company_name'] : '', '#states' => array( 'required' => array( ':input[name="account_type"]' => array('value' => 2), ), ), ); In Firefox/Chrome/Opera all versions this form behaves as it should. However in all versions of IE the form initializes with display:none; style on all of the conditional fields regardless of what the value in account_type is. Changing the selected option of account_type does not effect the hidden status. Any tips on debugging this form would be awesome. Notes: I am not much of a Drupal developer, I inherited this site. Just trying to iron out the last couple bugs so we can go live there are more fields than are listed above, I just gave you some of the applicable ones so that you could get the gist of how my forms were setup current url for the form in development: https://northeastcleanpower.com/enroll_new I'm using http://www.browserstack.com/ to debug IE 7 - 10pp4 (I think we only have to support 8 and up though) I've also tried: ':select[name="account_type"]' => array('value' => 1), '#edit-account-type' => array('value' => 1),

  • drupal's hook_preprocess_page not working as expected

    - by Peter Carrero
    i am having an issue where hook_preprocess_page 's changes to &$variables is not being rendered, even though it is the last item under $theme_registry['page']['preprocess functions']. logging contents of $variables to a file show the contents changed, but contents appear unchanged on the site. flushed all cache on drupal, flushed all browser caches and still the same result. /** * Implementation of hook_preprocess_page(). */ function grinchlist_preprocess_page(&$variables) { if (grinchlist_usercheck($variables['user']['uid'])) { $variables['scripts'] = preg_replace('/<script[^>]*christmas_snow.*<\/script>/','',$variables['scripts']); } file_put_contents('/tmp/vars.txt',print_r($variables,true)); } the /tmp/vars.txt shows the variables properly, but the browser still show the script being loaded. this may be a silly example, but i've had this issue with the hook_preprocess_page in other instances and it would really help out to understand what is going on here... thanks.

  • Correct way to use Drupal 7 Entities and Field API

    - by Martin Petts
    I'm trying to use Drupal 7's entities and field API to correctly build a new module. What I have been unable to understand from the documentation is the correct way to use the new API to create a 'content type' (not a node type) with a number of set fields, such as Body. I'm trying to set up the entity using hook_entity_info, then I believe I need to add the body field using field_create_instance, but I can't seem to get it to work. In mycontenttype.module: /** * Implements hook_entity_info(). */ function mycontenttype_entity_info() { $return = array( 'mycontenttype' => array( 'label' => t('My Content Type'), 'controller class' => 'MyContentTypeEntityController', 'base table' => 'content_type', 'uri callback' => 'content_type_uri', 'entity keys' => array( 'id' => 'cid', 'label' => 'title' ), 'bundles' => array( 'mycontenttype' => array( 'label' => 'My Content Type', 'admin' => array( 'path' => 'admin/contenttype', 'access arguments' => array('administer contenttype') ) ) ), 'fieldable' => true ) ); return $return; } /** * Implements hook_field_extra_fields(). */ function mycontenttype_field_extra_fields() { $return['mycontenttype']['mycontenttype'] = array( 'form' = array( 'body' = array( 'label' = 'Body', 'description' = t('Body content'), 'weight' = 0, ), ), ); return $return; } Then does this go in the .install file? function mycontenttype_install() { $field = array( 'field_name' => 'body', 'type' => 'text_with_summary', 'entity_types' => array('survey'), 'translatable' => TRUE, ); field_create_field($field); $instance = array( 'entity_type' => 'mycontenttype', 'field_name' => 'body', 'bundle' => 'mycontenttype', 'label' => 'Body', 'widget_type' => 'text_textarea_with_summary', 'settings' => array('display_summary' => TRUE), 'display' => array( 'default' => array( 'label' => 'hidden', 'type' => 'text_default', ), 'teaser' => array( 'label' => 'hidden', 'type' => 'text_summary_or_trimmed', ) ) ); field_create_instance($instance); }

  • drupal - override form action?

    - by n00b0101
    I originally started this question in another thread, but that thread was sorta, kinda answered, and now I primarily want to know how to specify another form action... I tried using the code below, but the form action, when output, remains unchanged, although looking at the print_r($form), it's correctly changed... Why isn't it picking up? function mytheme_user_profile_form($form) { global $user; $uid = $user->uid; //print '<pre>'; print_r($form); print '</pre>'; $category = $form['_category']['#value']; switch($category) { case 'account': $form['#action'] = '/user/'.$uid.'/edit?destination=user/'.$uid; break; case 'education': $form['#action'] = '/user/'.$uid.'/edit/education?destination=user/'.$uid; break; case 'experience': $form['#action'] = '/user/'.$uid.'/edit/experience?destination=user/'.$uid; break; case 'publications': $form['#action'] = '/user/'.$uid.'/edit/publications?destination=user/'.$uid; break; case 'conflicts': $form['#action'] = '/user/'.$uid.'/edit/conflicts?destination=user/'.$uid; break; } //print '<pre>'; print_r($form); print '</pre>'; //print $form['#action']; $output .= drupal_render($form); return $output;

  • Drupal image management

    - by vian
    Please suggest how should I approach these requirements. What ready-to-use solutions (modules) are best suited to achieve something like this: What I need is an image library that has searchable, tagged images that are already resized when we publish them. If the author searches the library and the image he needs isn’t there, he can upload one and have it added to the index. The important thing is that images in the library can be sorted into three categories: News images, top story images and feature images so that, over time, we don’t end up with hundreds of images crammed into one folder, thus making browsing a pain (and to prevent someone from something like: Searching for a keyword so they can find an image for the news, picking an image, and then seeing it’s 1600X. 1200). Also, I need something which will assemble thumbnail galleries easily. I don’t want to have to go to the image library, get a URL, go back, paste it in, etc. I should be able to pick, say, 8 images and say “create gallery”. How this objective is achieved is flexible, but I am looking for a shortcut to get around assembling screenshot galleries by hand.

  • Error after installing Classified Ad Module on Drupal 7

When i look up at the php code i can't figure out how to correct it. Here is my code: function ed_classified_form_alter(&$form, $form_state, $form_id) { module_load_include('inc', 'ed_classified', 'ed_classified_utils'); if ($form['type']['#value'] == EDI_CLASSIFIED_MODULE_NAME) { if ($form_id == 'ed_classified_node_form' && $form['attachments'] && _ed_classified_variable_get('alter_attachment_text', EDI_CLASSIFIED_VAR_DEF_ALTER_ATTACHMENT_TEXT) ) { // Don't allow the attachments block to be collapsed. $form['attachments']['#collapsed']=FALSE; $form['attachments']['#collapsible']=FALSE; // Enhance the help for classified ads. // NOTE: this is appropriate for the upload_image module enhancements only! $form['attachments']['#title']=t('Photo Attachments'); $form['attachments']['#description']= _ed_classified_variable_get('alter_attachment_text_description', t(EDI_CLASSIFIED_VAR_DEF_ALTER_ATTACHMENT_TEXT_DESCRIPTION)); } } } Any suggestion ?

  • Default values for Content Taxonomy fields in Drupal with Hierarchical Select widget

    - by lazysoundsystem
    I'm trying to set the default value for a Content Taxonomy field in a hook_form_alter, but can't pin down the necessary format. I've tried this and many variations: foreach (element_children($form) as $child) { // Set $default_value. if ($form[$child]['tids']) { // This, for Content Taxonomy fields, isn't working: $form[$child]['tids']['#default_value'] = array('value' => $default_value); dsm($form[$child]['tids']['#default_value']); } else { // This, for other fields, is working: $form[$child][0]['#default_value']['value'] = $default_value; } } Can anyone tell me what I'm missing? Edit: In response to Henrik Opel (thanks for getting involved), here is the print out of the relevant field of the form with my changes to the default fields commented out, showing the '#default_value' field I'm trying to influence. It also shows that the option widget I'm using is Hierarchical Select (could this be a factor?). In the dsm() in the code above, the changes to the default value are recognised, but they don't get processed later on. field_name_of_content_taxonomy_field (Array, 3 elements) #tree (Boolean) TRUE #weight (String, 1 characters ) 5 tids (Array, 7 elements) #title (String, 10 characters ) Vocabulary_name #type (String, 19 characters ) hierarchical_select #weight (String, 1 characters ) 5 #config (Array, 15 elements) // 15 elements here #required (String, 1 characters ) 0 #description (String, 0 characters ) #default_value (Array, 0 elements)

  • A Custom View Engine with Dynamic View Location

    - by imran_ku07
        Introduction:          One of the nice feature of ASP.NET MVC framework is its pluggability. This means you can completely replace the default view engine(s) with a custom one. One of the reason for using a custom view engine is to change the default views location and sometimes you need to change the views location at run-time. For doing this, you can extend the default view engine(s) and then change the default views location variables at run-time.  But, you cannot directly change the default views location variables at run-time because they are static and shared among all requests. In this article, I will show you how you can dynamically change the views location without changing the default views location variables at run-time.       Description:           Let's say you need to synchronize the views location with controller name and controller namespace. So, instead of searching to the default views location(Views/ControllerName/ViewName) to locate views, this(these) custom view engine(s) will search in the Views/ControllerNameSpace/ControllerName/ViewName folder to locate views.           First of all create a sample ASP.NET MVC 3 application and then add these custom view engines to your application,   public class MyRazorViewEngine : RazorViewEngine { public MyRazorViewEngine() : base() { AreaViewLocationFormats = new[] { "~/Areas/{2}/Views/%1/{1}/{0}.cshtml", "~/Areas/{2}/Views/%1/{1}/{0}.vbhtml", "~/Areas/{2}/Views/%1/Shared/{0}.cshtml", "~/Areas/{2}/Views/%1/Shared/{0}.vbhtml" }; AreaMasterLocationFormats = new[] { "~/Areas/{2}/Views/%1/{1}/{0}.cshtml", "~/Areas/{2}/Views/%1/{1}/{0}.vbhtml", "~/Areas/{2}/Views/%1/Shared/{0}.cshtml", "~/Areas/{2}/Views/%1/Shared/{0}.vbhtml" }; AreaPartialViewLocationFormats = new[] { "~/Areas/{2}/Views/%1/{1}/{0}.cshtml", "~/Areas/{2}/Views/%1/{1}/{0}.vbhtml", "~/Areas/{2}/Views/%1/Shared/{0}.cshtml", "~/Areas/{2}/Views/%1/Shared/{0}.vbhtml" }; ViewLocationFormats = new[] { "~/Views/%1/{1}/{0}.cshtml", "~/Views/%1/{1}/{0}.vbhtml", "~/Views/%1/Shared/{0}.cshtml", "~/Views/%1/Shared/{0}.vbhtml" }; MasterLocationFormats = new[] { "~/Views/%1/{1}/{0}.cshtml", "~/Views/%1/{1}/{0}.vbhtml", "~/Views/%1/Shared/{0}.cshtml", "~/Views/%1/Shared/{0}.vbhtml" }; PartialViewLocationFormats = new[] { "~/Views/%1/{1}/{0}.cshtml", "~/Views/%1/{1}/{0}.vbhtml", "~/Views/%1/Shared/{0}.cshtml", "~/Views/%1/Shared/{0}.vbhtml" }; } protected override IView CreatePartialView(ControllerContext controllerContext, string partialPath) { var nameSpace = controllerContext.Controller.GetType().Namespace; return base.CreatePartialView(controllerContext, partialPath.Replace("%1", nameSpace)); } protected override IView CreateView(ControllerContext controllerContext, string viewPath, string masterPath) { var nameSpace = controllerContext.Controller.GetType().Namespace; return base.CreateView(controllerContext, viewPath.Replace("%1", nameSpace), masterPath.Replace("%1", nameSpace)); } protected override bool FileExists(ControllerContext controllerContext, string virtualPath) { var nameSpace = controllerContext.Controller.GetType().Namespace; return base.FileExists(controllerContext, virtualPath.Replace("%1", nameSpace)); } } public class MyWebFormViewEngine : WebFormViewEngine { public MyWebFormViewEngine() : base() { MasterLocationFormats = new[] { "~/Views/%1/{1}/{0}.master", "~/Views/%1/Shared/{0}.master" }; AreaMasterLocationFormats = new[] { "~/Areas/{2}/Views/%1/{1}/{0}.master", "~/Areas/{2}/Views/%1/Shared/{0}.master", }; ViewLocationFormats = new[] { "~/Views/%1/{1}/{0}.aspx", "~/Views/%1/{1}/{0}.ascx", "~/Views/%1/Shared/{0}.aspx", "~/Views/%1/Shared/{0}.ascx" }; AreaViewLocationFormats = new[] { "~/Areas/{2}/Views/%1/{1}/{0}.aspx", "~/Areas/{2}/Views/%1/{1}/{0}.ascx", "~/Areas/{2}/Views/%1/Shared/{0}.aspx", "~/Areas/{2}/Views/%1/Shared/{0}.ascx", }; PartialViewLocationFormats = ViewLocationFormats; AreaPartialViewLocationFormats = AreaViewLocationFormats; } protected override IView CreatePartialView(ControllerContext controllerContext, string partialPath) { var nameSpace = controllerContext.Controller.GetType().Namespace; return base.CreatePartialView(controllerContext, partialPath.Replace("%1", nameSpace)); } protected override IView CreateView(ControllerContext controllerContext, string viewPath, string masterPath) { var nameSpace = controllerContext.Controller.GetType().Namespace; return base.CreateView(controllerContext, viewPath.Replace("%1", nameSpace), masterPath.Replace("%1", nameSpace)); } protected override bool FileExists(ControllerContext controllerContext, string virtualPath) { var nameSpace = controllerContext.Controller.GetType().Namespace; return base.FileExists(controllerContext, virtualPath.Replace("%1", nameSpace)); } }             Here, I am extending the RazorViewEngine and WebFormViewEngine class and then appending /%1 in each views location variable, so that we can replace /%1 at run-time. I am also overriding the FileExists, CreateView and CreatePartialView methods. In each of these method implementation, I am replacing /%1 with controller namespace. Now, just register these view engines in Application_Start method in Global.asax.cs file,   protected void Application_Start() { ViewEngines.Engines.Clear(); ViewEngines.Engines.Add(new MyRazorViewEngine()); ViewEngines.Engines.Add(new MyWebFormViewEngine()); ................................................ ................................................ }             Now just create a controller and put this controller's view inside Views/ControllerNameSpace/ControllerName folder and then run this application. You will find that everything works just fine.       Summary:          ASP.NET MVC uses convention over configuration to locate views. For many applications this convention to locate views is acceptable. But sometimes you may need to locate views at run-time. In this article, I showed you how you can dynamically locate your views by using a custom view engine. I am also attaching a sample application. Hopefully you will enjoy this article too.
