  • count specific values in a multidimensional array

    - by user1680701
I have an odd set of arrays that I need to count how many times specific values show in the results. Currently I have this bit of code. $nested_arrays = shopp_orders( '2011-11-30 00:00:00', '2012-11-30 12:59:59', false, '', 2 ); print_r($nested_arrays); This code pulls multiple arrays (serialized data) from the database and outputs like this Array ( [30] => Purchase Object ( [purchased] => Array ( ) [columns] => Array ( ) [message] => Array ( ) [data] => Array ( ) [invoiced] => [authorized] => Thank You.

  • what does calling ´this´ outside of a jquery plugin refer to

    - by Richard
Hi, I am using the liveTwitter plugin The problem is that I need to stop the plugin from hitting the Twitter api. According to the documentation I need to do this $("#tab1 .container_twitter_status").each(function(){ this.twitter.stop(); }); Already, the each does not make sense on an id and what does this refer to? Anyway, I get an undefined error. I will paste the plugin code and hope it makes sense to somebody MY only problem thusfar with this plugin is that I need to be able to stop it. thanks in advance, Richard /* * jQuery LiveTwitter 1.5.0 * - Live updating Twitter plugin for jQuery * * Copyright (c) 2009-2010 Inge Jørgensen (elektronaut.no) * Licensed under the MIT license (MIT-LICENSE.txt) * * $Date: 2010/05/30$ */ /* * Usage example: * $("#twitterSearch").liveTwitter('bacon', {limit: 10, rate: 15000}); */ (function($){ if(!$.fn.reverse){ $.fn.reverse = function() { return this.pushStack(this.get().reverse(), arguments); }; } $.fn.liveTwitter = function(query, options, callback){ var domNode = this; $(this).each(function(){ var settings = {}; // Handle changing of options if(this.twitter) { settings = jQuery.extend(this.twitter.settings, options); this.twitter.settings = settings; if(query) { this.twitter.query = query; } this.twitter.limit = settings.limit; this.twitter.mode = settings.mode; if(this.twitter.interval){ this.twitter.refresh(); } if(callback){ this.twitter.callback = callback; } // ..or create a new twitter object } else { // Extend settings with the defaults settings = jQuery.extend({ mode: 'search', // Mode, valid options are: 'search', 'user_timeline' rate: 15000, // Refresh rate in ms limit: 10, // Limit number of results refresh: true }, options); // Default setting for showAuthor if not provided if(typeof settings.showAuthor == "undefined"){ settings.showAuthor = (settings.mode == 'user_timeline') ? • How do I mock an object in this case? no obvious way to replace object with mock

    - by Tristan
Hi there, Suppose I have this very simple method in Store's model: def geocode_address loc = Store.geocode(address) self.lat = loc.lat self.lng = loc.lng end If I want to write some test scripts that aren't affected by the geocoding service, which may be down, have limitations or depend on my internet connection, how do I mock out the geocoding service? If I could pass a geocoding object into the method, it would be easy, but I don't see how I could do it in this case. Thanks! Tristan

  • iPhone - access location information from a photo.

Is it possible, in an iPhone app, to extract location information (geocode, I suppose it's called) from a photo taken with the iPhone camera? If there is no API call to do it, is there any known way to parse the bytes of data to extract the information? Something I can roll on my own?

  • Twitter Search API is returning weird characters - is it more or is it them?

    - by DanSingerman
We are building an app that accesses the Twitter search over JSONP. It mostly works fine, but occasionally the request returns a JSONP callback that exists of weird unparseable characters. Here is an example: http://search.twitter.com/search.json?result_type=recent&rpp=100&geocode=51.4375857,-0.1658648,1km&page=5&callback=jsonp1272532482854 (If you change page=5 to a value less than 5 in the URL it works fine) So Am I doing something wrong? Can anyone suggest a workaround?

  • How to properly pass address to google geocoding service

    - by clinisbut
I'm getting some problems trying Google Geocoding service when using special characters like "º" or letters with accents. Whenever I try something like: "barcelona, nº 10" I get 0 results. But trying: "barcelona n 10" I get results... I suspect is something related with encoding. I tried this: geocoder.geocode({'address': encodeURI( $('#direction').val() )}, function(){} ); But didn't help. Any Idea?

  • How to geocoding big number of addresses?

    - by user308569
I need to geocode, i.e. translate street address to latitude, longitude for ~8,000 street addresses. I am using both Yahoo and Google geocoding engines at http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/geocoder/, and found out that for a big number of addresses those engines (one of them or both) either could not perform geocoding (i.e.return latitude=0,longitude=0), or return wrong coordinates (incl. cases when Yahoo and Google give different results). What is the best way to handle this problem? Which engine is (usually) more accurate? I would appreciate any thoughts, suggestions, ideas from people who had previous experience with this kind of task.

(I am a little confused after reading Google's API documentation http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/javascript/v2/services.html) Thanks :)

    - by Kjensen
I need to geocode adresses (get lat/long from addresses) using in .Net, to store in the database. What is the library/project to look into, to get that done? After a search here, on google and codeplex.com, I have found there to be a few options, that seem like they will do what I ask for... But some of them could be crap and a waste of time - and some might just be stellar. Which one is the one to go for? Have you used any of them?

  • Geocoding autocomplete bias not working

    - by chris
I'm using the following code to get the autocomplete functionality for an address input box using Google Maps API v3: function initializeAutocomplete() { var defaultBounds = new google.maps.LatLngBounds( new google.maps.LatLng(1.484016,103.575212), new google.maps.LatLng(1.233592,104.033618)); var input = document.getElementById('destStreet'); var myOptions = {bounds: defaultBounds, types: ['geocode']}; autocomplete = new google.maps.places.Autocomplete(input, myOptions); } The problem is that biasing doesn't seem to work as the first results are usually not relevant to the defined bounds (a country). I've seen a few apps working fine, so I'm wondering where the problem is. I came across the JQuery autocomplete plugin (http://code.google.com/p/geo-autocomplete/) which would seem like a good alternative since it has a region filter, but I'm unable to "install it" or use it because of my very limited knowledge (I learn by example). Could you please help me getting more relevant results with the above code or guide me through the implementation of the JQuery alternative? Of course I'm very open to other suggestions as well.

  • Google Maps custom marker - can the iframe accept one like the static maps?

    - by alex
I was reading the static maps API, and it says you can include a custom marker in the GET params. You simply link to an image file. I now have a second Google Map within an iframe, and was wondering if you can attach custom markers via the GET params to it? Here is the src attribute of the iframe currently. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=111+Fake+Street+Noosaville+Queensland+Australia&ie=UTF8&output=embed I can't seem to find the documentation on how to do this, if possible. Is this possible?

  • Cannot set focus on input field in infoWindow

    - by thomas
    Hi Why is focus not set to noteTitle? I am using google maps API V3. The getNoteForm() returns a input field "noteTitle". The $("#noteTitle").focus() works fine when executed in firebug. I call this function when clicking on the map: function setNewNoteInfowindow(latlng) { if (geocoder) { geocoder.geocode({'latLng': latlng}, function(results, status) { var address = ""; if (status == google.maps.GeocoderStatus.OK) { if (results[1]) { address = results[1].formatted_address; } } newNoteInfowindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow({ content: getNoteForm(latlng, address), size: new google.maps.Size(40,50) }); newNoteInfowindow.open(map, newNoteMarker); google.maps.event.addListener(newNoteInfowindow, 'domready', function() { $("#noteTitle").focus(); }); google.maps.event.addListener(newNoteInfowindow, 'closeclick', function() { newNoteMarker.setVisible(false); }); }); } }
