  • django DateTimeField list records by day

    Hay, i have a field in one of my models which saves the creation date of an object created_on = models.DateTimeField(blank=False, auto_now_add=True) This works as expected. In my templates i want to list objects like this June 15 {{ objects here which was created on June 15 }} June 14 {{ objects here which was created on June 14 }} etc Any idea how i would go about doing this?     Hay i need help. I want to find all muliples of a number in PHP. I'm using something like this if($count != 20 ) to work out if $count is not equal to 20. but i also need this script to check if $count is not equal to 20,40,60,80,100,120,140,160 etc. Any ideas? I think i need to use the modulus symbol (%), but i don't know. Thanks

  • Django call function when an object gets added

    Hay, i have a simple model class Manufacturer(models.Model): name = models.CharField() car_count = models.IntegerField() class Car(models.Model): maker = ForeignKey(Manufacturer) I want to update the car_count field when a car is added to a manufacturer, I'm aware i could just count the Manufacturer.car_set() to get the value, but i want the value to be stored within that car_count field. How would i do this? EDIT Would something like this work? def save(self): if self.id: car_count = self.car_set.count() self.save()

  • debian modem problems !!!

    hay there guys ... I'm a new Debian user, it looks like a very good choice 4 me, every thing is stable, free and easy to use. the problem is, I'm using my modem to establish a dial up connection to the internet (ppp) (a very old stupid way I'm forced to use for now), and using the KPPP application to do that, and nothing is working properly for me. it seems like it didn't recognize my modem or something. i already tried to make a few stuff, and now i know my modem is on /dev/tty0, so i made a link for that on /dev/modem, and query the modem using KPPP and it responded with something like: Ati : Ati0: Ati1: ... ... Ati7: with a textBox to fill up in front of each one of thees Atis, and now, when i press connect on kppp, it says modem ready, and that's it. BTW, my modem is MDC AC'97 any suggestions pleas ....

  • Qmail/Plesk email help

    Hay Guys. I'm using plesk with Qmail as an outgoing server. I've never used my plesk setup before to send emails. I usually use my ISP. I'm having a little trouble settng this up. I've created a simple email account, [email protected]. All is well, i setup my POP account in my mail client (apple mail) and i can receive mail. However i can't send any. These are the details im using smtp.mycrazydomain.com standard auth (i've tried SSL and non SSL) username: [email protected] password: mypassword However nothing has happened. Anyone got any ideas?

  • Change permission of files with the owner 'apache'

    Hay, i have some files on my server with the owner set to "apache", I'm not quite sure how this happened. Anyway, i need to change the permission of these files to 0777 so i can download/edit them. However i cannot. I'm using a 1and1 Linux server and use Plesk to administrate it. I have the ability to login via SSH. However, if i run chmod or chown i get a "permission denied" error, and if i try to sudo chmod or chown it says the command cannot be found. When i go to edit my domain details, i get this option Shell access to server with FTP user's credentials and have these options /bin/sh /bin/bash /sbin/nologin /bin/bash (chrooted) /bin/rbash Any idea's how i should go about changing the permissions or changing the owner?   • Hablamos de Formación en la Conferencia Total Training en Lisboa

    El pasado 22 de Octubre se celebro en Lisboa la 2ª Edición del Total Training Conference, la feria de la formación en la empresa de Portugal. Este año contó con la participación de cerca de 90 profesionales de los Recursos Humanos y se trataron los temas de mayor interés para los departamentos de formación de las empresas. ¿De qué se habló en la conferencia? Los ejes principales de las ponencias estuvieron centrados en la combinación de formación presencial y elearning, para sacar el máximo provecho de los presupuestos de formación y utilizar el medio adecuado para impactar de la manera más efectiva en los alumnos, ya estemos tratando de inculcar valores o comportamientos o simplemente transmitiendo una serie de conocimientos que tienen que ser utilizados en el día a día. Tambien se trato de los aspectos de aprendizajes informales, también conocidos como social learning, o cómo podemos transformar a nuestros empleados en profesores de sus compañeros resolviendo necesidades puntuales, pero a veces críticas. En la última ponencia se explicó y trató el novedoso tema de la gamificación o cómo introducir en la generación de contenidos formativos elementos lúdicos del juego para aumentar la efectividad de los mismos, concretando las definiciones y aclarando que formación no es una gamificación aunque por su similitud pueda confundirse. ¿Qué aportó Oracle a esta jornada? Desde Oracle quisimos aportar nuestro granito de arena, explicando los beneficios de una solución de formación en la nube, dónde, desde el punto de vista de funcionalidad no se renuncia a nada que pueda ofrecer una solución onpremise, con una serie de ventajas adicionales, como son: Pagar por uso y no hay que hacer desembolsos iniciales importantes como el pago de licencias o la compra de servidores o la contratación o asignación de personal informático para mantener un sistema en la casa. Así mismo al ser mantenida por el propio fabricante, el sistema es actualizado de forma constante, de forma transparente para el propio cliente sin los quebraderos de cabeza típicos de esos proyectos de implantación. Aprovechamos la ocasión para comentar algunos de los proyectos transformacionales de algunos de nuestros clientes para ilustrar como un sistema de formación puede por ejemplo convertir a un departamento que es un centro de coste en un centro de beneficio, o cómo un despliegue adecuado de la formación puede reducir la rotación, aumentar la satisfacción de los empleados y ayudar en el despliegue de nuevos productos.     I have noticed a problem when releasing new features for a game that I wrote for Android and published on Google Play Store. Because my game is "stage-based" - and not a game like Hay Day, for example, where users will just go into the game every day since it can't really be finished - my users are not aware of new features that I release for the game. For example, if I publish a new version of my game and it contains a couple new stages, most of their devices will just auto-update the game and they don't even notice this and think to check out what's new. So this is why an approach like popping open a dialog that showcases the new feature(s) when they open the game for the first time after the update was done is not really sufficient. I am looking for some tips on an approach that will draw my users back into the game and then they could read more detail about new features on such a dialog. I was thinking of something like a notification that tells them to check out the new features after an update is done but I am not sure if this is a good idea. Any suggestions to help me solve this problem would be awesome.

  • django ManyToMany through help

    Hay I've got a question about relationships. I want to Users to have Friendships. So a User can be a friend with another User. I'm assuming i'll need to use the ManyToManyField, through a Friendship table. But i cannot get it to work. Any ideas?   • PHPMailer erroring out with Call to undefined method PHPMailer::SetFrom()

    Hay I'm using PHPMailer to send some simple emails, however the function SetFrom() doesn't seem to work, even though the code I'm using is straight from phpmails docs (http://phpmailer.worxware.com/index.php?pg=examplebmail) Here my error Call to undefined method PHPMailer::SetFrom() and my script require_once('inc/phpmailer/class.phpmailer.php'); $mail = new PHPMailer(); // defaults to using php "mail()" $body = $message; $mail->SetFrom('[email protected]', 'tell a friend'); $mail->AddAddress($to_email, $to); $mail->Subject = "tell a friend"; $mail->MsgHTML($body); $mail->Send(); Any ideas? EDIT turns out the SetFrom() function doesnt exist in my version of phpmailer, i can set these values using $mail->From = ''; $mail->FromName = '';

  • Socksifying a Java ServerSocket - how to approach

    I would like to have a Java program running on network A have a ServerSocket living on another network B through a proxy. I have played with a SOCKS5 proxy (which works) but it appears that all the proxy facilities in Java only work with client connections, not with ServerSockets (no constructor taking a Proxy argument). Asking Google gives much hay and few needles. What is the approach I should take to get this running? If a specific client is better than a generic SOCKS or web proxy then fine, but it needs to be Java (that leaves sshd out). Target JVM is preferrably Java 5, and then Java 6.

    Hay, i can't seem to send emails using send_mail(), and I'm not sure why. Here's my details settins.py EMAIL_HOST = 'localhost', EMAIL_PORT = 25 My view from django.core.mail import send_mail send_mail('Subject here', 'Here is the message.', '[email protected]', ['[email protected]'], fail_silently=False) This fails with the error getaddrinfo() argument 1 must be string or None Anyone have any ideas?   • creating my own context processor in django

    Hay, I have come to a point where i need to pass certain variables to all my views (mostly custom authentication type variables). I was told writing my own context processor was the best way to do this, but i am having some issues. My settings file looks like this TEMPLATE_CONTEXT_PROCESSORS = ( "django.contrib.auth.context_processors.auth", "django.core.context_processors.debug", "django.core.context_processors.i18n", "django.core.context_processors.media", "django.contrib.messages.context_processors.messages", "sandbox.context_processors.say_hello", ) As you can see i have a module called 'context_processors' and a function within that called 'say_hello'. This looks like def say_hello(request): return { 'say_hello':"Hello", } Am i right to assume i can now do this within my views {{ say_hello }} because it doesn't return anything.

    Hay, I'm working on a simple voting system, where users can vote on a poll. My model looks like this class Poll(models.Model): question = models.CharField() votes = models.IntegerField() usersVoted = models.ManyToManyField(User) Now, i want to scan through the usersVoted field to see if a User object is in there. This User object will then be matched against a logged in User (User obj saved in a session). If the User has voted i want to be able to set a 'has_voted' field. I then want to use this field in my view. I will be using the Property() thingy inside the model to work this 'has_voted' value out. Like so def _can_vote(self): return False can_vote = property(_can_vote) Obviously it'll return a Bool. Any ideas how to search through a related field to find a specific Object?

  • Debugging kernel hang

    I am trying to run an app which is using a kernel mode driver. System locks up every hour and the only way to recover it is a hard reset. Sysrq stops responding, telnet sessions hang and there are no error messages of any kind. Unfortunately the board does not have ejtag support. I have been trying to isolate it functionally, but this is like looking for a needle in a hay stack. Any suggestions? PS: This is a mips linux system (2.6.31).
