Only the last message is been displayed after a long lime of ajax loading message Also on the browser console I just see that after a long time first requested is completed and after that the second request is completed. but there should be for getProgress ? I have checked jquery.doc and it says that $post is an asynchronous request. Can anyone please explain what is wrong with the code or logic?

  I have IIS7 on my computer. It can display html files. But if I put a PHP program in the corresponding folder and then try to open it with the Chrome browser I do not see the expected page. Instead Chrome "downloads" this file. Is it beacuse IIS7 cannot display the PHP files?

  Is it possible to configure loadbalancing on one server with IIS7? What I would like is to have three applications in IIS7 (sites). One site should forward the requests to the other two sites (loadbalanced). Problem is that at a customer of ours loadbalancing is used (with virtual servers). We on the other hand do not have (yet) a virtual environment and only one buildserver. (maybe using Application Request Routing module?)

  So here's my setup. I've got a DynDNS account since I have a dynamic IP. I have Apache listening on port 80 and IIS7 on port 8080. I don't want users to have to enter in mydyndns.dyndns.com:8080 to get to IIS7, so I've added the following code to my Apache httpd.conf file to enable a proxy/reverse proxy: <VirtualHost *:80> ProxyPass / http://localhost:8080/myASPSite/ ProxyPassReverse / http://localhost:8080/myASPSite/ ServerName myaspsite.mydomain.com </VirtualHost> I've got a CNAME record set up on my DNS so that myaspsite.mydomain.com redirects to mydyndns.dyndns.com. When I type in myaspsite.mydomain.com into my browser, everything works beautifully... mostly. IIS7 serves up the ASPX pages and visitors to the site don't know any better. A problem arises, however, when I add Ajax Control Toolkit controls into my ASPX website, because these generate JavaScript and apparently mod_proxy_html isn't geared to handle the JS URIs properly. Sure enough, when I open up the source of my ASPX page, it has script elements as follows: <script src="/myASPSite/WebResource.axd?xyz" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/myASPSite/ScriptResource.axd?xyz" type="text/javascript"></script> Sure enough, these scripts are attempting to be resolved at http://myaspsite.mydomain.com/myASPSite/WebResource..., which through the proxy translates to localhost:8080/myASPSite/myASPSite/.... How can I solve this problem. The couple of websites I found suggested turning on ProxyHTMLExtended but when I tried doing that, the server did not start. I'm guessing I didn't know how to do it properly. Anyone has a handy couple of config lines that I can add to my Apache conf file to get this working as I need? I'm using Apache 2.2.11. Thanks!

• IIS7 - Virtual Directories' Parent Paths behaving differently than previous versions

  I'm doing a migration of a web server running on IIS 5 to IIS 7. I'm noticing that the virtual directories are behaving differently between the two. I have a site located at c:\inetpub\SiteName. This site contains a virtual directory "bob" that points at c:\virtualdirs\bob. There's a script in the bob folder (script.asp) that contains just: <!--#include virtual="../index.asp"--> I'm noticing different behaviors between IIS5 and IIS7 when I attempt to run the script by going to http://SiteName/bob/script.asp: IIS5 references the parent path of the site, and imports c:\inetpub\SiteName\index.asp. IIS7 references the parent folder of the virtual directory, and looks for a c:\virtualdirs\index.asp (that doesn't exist). Doing a Response.Write of a Server.MapPath confirms this. Is there a way to get IIS7 to behave like IIS5 in this regard? Unfortunately, moving index.asp and its logic into the virtualdirs folder isn't an option as the virtual directory will be shared across many sites (with differing index.asps). Thanks.

  My question is pretty much identical to the question listed but they did not get an answer as they ended up using Linux as the reverse proxy. http://serverfault.com/questions/55309/using-iis7-as-a-reverse-proxy I need to have IIS the main site and linux (Apache) being the proxied site(s). so I have site1.com (IIS7) site2.com (Linux Apache) they have subdomains of sub1.site1.com sub2.site1.com sub3.site2.com I want all traffic to go to site1.com and to say anything that is site2.com should be proxied to linux box on internal network, (believe ARR can do this but not sure how). I can not have it running as Apache doing the proxying as I need IIS exposed directly. any and all advice would be great. • Authenticated User Impersonation in Classic ASP under IIS7

  I've recently moved one of our servers from Server 2003 and IIS6 to Server 2008 R2 and IIS7 (technically IIS7.5 I suppose). In doing so I am transitioning a small account management tool written in classic ASP and have run into a problem with user impersonation. Extensive searching hasn't been much help so far. Under IIS6, the site was configured to impersonate the logged-in user. Thus, if a domain admin logged in, he was able to run commands to create user directories, adjust permissions, etc. Using Procmon you can see the processes executing as that user. This worked fine. However, with the same code under IIS7, I am unable to get this behavior. I have enabled Basic Authentication, disabled Anonymous Auth, enabled impersonation and have changed the app pool to classic instead of integrated pipelining. Everything seems to be configured correctly, however, all the processes launched by the classic ASP site continue to run as the default AppPool identity and not the logged-in user. If it matters, programs are being launched with code such as: set Wsh = Server.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") Wsh.Run("cmd.exe /C mkdir D:\users\foo") Monitoring via Procmon shows cmd.exe being run as either "Classic .NET AppPool" or "DefaultAppPool" depending on the pipeline mode. Any suggestions on how to get the classic ASP site to impersonate and execute as the authenticated user would be great. Thanks!

• Compression for custom mime type works on IIS 7.5, but not IIS 7.0?

  I've managed to set up compression for a custom mime type on IIS 7.5 with no problem. Add the mime type to IIS then add it to the httpCompression element in applicationHost.config. But when I do the same thing on IIS 7, the particular mime type is never compressed. This isn't a problem with compression in general since other mime types are compressed correctly. As far as I can tell, IIS 7 and IIS7.5 are configured in exactly the same way. Does IIS7 behave differently and do I need to do something else to get it working? I've setup failed request tracing and get a NO_MATCHING_CONTENT_TYPE error during compression but I can't figure out what else I need to do to tell IIS about my mime type

I want to tweak this to allow anyone to request a certain URL: http://example.com/public/file.html How do I change this to allow /public/file.html requests to get through from anyone? Note: /public/file.html doesn't actually exist as a file on the server. I redirect all incoming requests through a single index file using mod_rewrite.

  In Windows Server 2003/IIS6 land we typically create an app pool that runs as the identity of an AD account created with minimal privileges simply for that purpose. This same domain user would also be granted access to SQL Server so that any ASP.NET application in that app pool would be able to connect to SQL Server with Integrated Security=SSPI. We are making a brave move to the world of Windows Server 2008 R2/IIS7.5 and are looking to replicate this model, but I am struggling with how to make the application pool in IIS7.5 run as the identity of an AD account? I know this sounds simple and hopefully it is, but my attempts so far have been fruitless. Should the application pool identity be a 'Custom account' for a domain account? Does the domain account need to be added to any groups?

It is enough if the basic configuration (folder, virtual folders inside, hostheaders, ) is migrated. a great part of the configuration is in web.config anyway. It is even okay if they're just created as "classic" mode applications. I have tried the following things: Msdeploy. This copies the whole directoried though, not good... Tried exporting the iis websites to xml... Found nothing to give them to iis7... Anybody got an idea?

TLS_DHE_DSS_WITH_3DES_EDE_CBC_SHA TLS_DHE_DSS_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA TLS_DHE_DSS_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA TLS_RSA_WITH_3DES_EDE_CBC_SHA TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA I have put that list in the box in the following policy: Computer Configuration | Administrative Templates | Network | SSL Configuration Settings | SSL Cipher Suite Order Is that sufficient? Are any of the suites in my list not TLS 1.0? Are there any other TLS 1.0 suites supported by IIS7 that aren't in the list? The server, by the way, is Windows Server 2008 R2. Thanks

What I would like to do is setup the servers as IIS7 servers and allowing them to failover from datacenter to datacenter with little (or preferably) no interruption. Servers on both sides are running Windows Server 2008 x64 with IIS7 (or 7.5 if needed). I am interested in how to point DNS traffic to the new datacenter without manual human intervention. For example: Datacenter A: IP: 192.168.1.115 Servers: Server 2008 x64 w/ IIS 7 Datacenter B: IP: 192.168.1.220 Servers: Server 2008 x64 w/ IIS 7 Other information: Domain Name: Example.org Domain DNS: 192.168.1.115 If Datacenter A connectivity went down (broken service line, etc.) how does the traffic know to route to Datacenter B on 192.168.1.220? There isn't support for IISPassword on IIS7 at the moment. Is there an equivalent mechanism I can use built into IIS7 instead? I'm well aware of ASP.NET Forms Authentication, but I need a way for users deploying non-ASP.NET content (such as PHP, Perl, images etc) to be able to use Basic authentication but not have to write code to achieve this. Unfortunately, IIS seems to recycle the process on a fairly regular basis. So I am trying to change the settings on the Application Pool to make sure that IIS does not recycle the application. So far, I've change the following: Limit Interval under CPU from 5 to 0. Idle Time-out under Process Model from 20 to 0. Regular Time Interval under Recycling from 1740 to 0. Will this be enough? And I have specific questions about the items I changed: What specifically does Limit Interval setting under CPU mean? Does it mean that if a certain CPU usage is exceeded, the application pool will be recycled? What exactly does "recycled" mean? Is the application completely torn down and started up again? What is the difference between "Worker Process shutdown" and "Application Pool recycling"? The documentation for the Idle Time-out under Process Model talks about shutting down the worker process. While the docs for Regular Time Interval under Recycling talk about application pool recycling. I don't quite grok the difference between the two. I thought the w3wp.exe is the worker process which runs the application pool. Can someone explain the difference to the application between the two? The reason for having IIS7 and IIS7.5 tags is because the app will run in both and hope the answers are the same between the versions. Image for reference:

  I build a basic WCF service that I now want to host in IIS7 under Windows Server 2008 R2. I added the service as an application under the default web site but whenever i try to run the application I get the following error: HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid. Config Error - Cannot read configuration file due to insufficient permissions The only way I can get this service working is if i choose to "connect as" the server Administrator when adding the service. the "application user (pass-through authentication)" option does not seem to work. Could anyone help me out, I've just started using IIS7 and have no idea what to do... Thanks

  Hi, Previously when I used IIS6, I used IIS6 Metabase Explorer to edit Metabase.xml and manually turned on compression, specified the compression level and the file extensions to compress. IIS7 seems a bit different, there is no Metabase.xml file in the system32\inetsrv folder. Enabling compression is easy to turn on by checking the checkbox in the Compression module. But how do I manually tweak and set the compression levels and file extensions to compress? I also ran across an article saying that IIS7 also automatically throttles the compression if your CPU load is 50% then compression is turned off. Where are all these settings located?

• PHP: Extensionless URLs in IIS7 (windows)? (for wordpress)

  Hi there, I have recently installed wordpress but i would like to configure extensionless URLs .. I am using IIS7 but on a shared server. I presume i cna add something to web.config file?? I am little bit confused, in IIS7 and asp.net mvc it is done via code... but in PHP i don't think it is .... so the only alternative is to use a re-write module but i can't as I am on a shared server and can't install ISAPI stuff.. so I was wondering if there is a way to do the mapping i.e. when going to testme it would actually load testme.php Any advise really appreciated Thanks
