  Sometimes I share screen shots and clips of vim usage with others. It would be nice to expand on the part of the status bar highlighted in this picture: I would like some way to make previous key sequences visible as well, such as: y2w jj f[ p 2d - You can see the key sequences leading up to the current one. I'll elaborate on my wish list at the bottom. Is something like this is available as a plugin or vim script? The sheer number of scripts available on vim online makes this hard to find by keyword. Some features I would hope for (but seem improbable): Delimit key sequences with a non-keyboard character instead of space, and a different one for the current command, so y2w jj f[ p 2d might become y2w¦jj¦f[¦p » 2d Replace keys that have a letter alternative with the alternative, such as the right arrow key - ^[[C with the equivalent l. Edit: To clarify, the right arrow key is a valid key in vim, but has no character to represent it, the l key preforms the same function and could/should substitute it. Have previous keystrokes run all the way to the beginning of the line (instead of just one or two), and just have vim's command prompt overwrite it when necessary. Replace some keystrokes with a more elegant alternative, for example hhhhh with 5h or more impressively d2f) with d% (in the appropriate situation).

This now happens every single time. It is imperative that I get it sorted. The strange thing is that it behaves initially then starts to hang after several hours. • SQL 2005 AD Group permission levels

  I'm trying to give permissions to a (sql 2005) database app based on AD groups. The general idea is to require a user to have a membership to "app_users" to view anything, and membership to other groups gives them write access to that group. "app_customers" gives write access to the customers module, "app_sales" to sales, etc. I've listed an example below: user1: AD member of app_users user2: AD member of app_users, app_customers For dbo.customers table: app_users - Granted: Select permission - Denied: Insert, Update, Delete app_customers - Granted: Select permission - Granted: Insert, Update, Delete I would expect user1 to be able to view the dbo.customers table, but will not be allowed to modify anything (insert/update/delete) - which works. In the same vein, I would expect user2 to be able to view AND modify the dbo.customers table, since they are a member of app_customers. However, this is not the case. Instead, user2 is denied any modifications just like user1. I seem to remember something about deny permissions winning if there was a conflict, but it's honestly been too long since I've dealt with them. Am I going about this the right way?   We recently had an issues where I had rebooted our EC2 instance (Ubuntu x86_64, version 9.10 server) and due to an EC2 issue the instance needed to be stopped and was down for a few days. Now I have been able to bring the instance back online I cannot connect to SSH using the keypair which previously worked. • SSH is not working .. Password promt is not coming

• Exchange 2010 SP2 Not Allowing Logon for Users with Expired Passwords

  When we provision users we set the "User must change password at next logon" flag and instruct them to go to OWA to login for the first time and change their password. Using the registry setting ChangeExpiredPasswordEnabled as explained here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb684904.aspx worked well prior to SP2 installation. This allows users with 'expired' passwords to logon and forces a password change before they can access OWA. We just installed Exchange 2010 Service Pack 2 and now it's no longer working. Users with this flag set ('expired' passwords) can't login in at all unless we clear the flag. FYI here's the registry key configuration as set now with SP2 installed: Any suggestions as to how I might fix this? Or did MS break this feature in Service Pack 2?

  I am trying to setup reporting services on a SQL server 2008 and get this error message when I try to connect to the http://localhost/reports The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized. I asked the server administrator and the IIS should be running (can't find it under administrative tools though) I used the Reporting Services Configuration manager to setup reporting services and am pretty sure it is setup correct.

• Amazon EC2 pem file stopped working suddenly

  I was connecting to Amazon EC2 through SSH and it was working well. But all of a sudden, it stopped working. I am not able to connect anymore with the same key file. What can go wrong ? I've already googled everything and checked : Public DNS is same (It hasnt changed), Username is ubuntu as it's a Ubuntu AMI ( Used the same earlier), Permission is 400 on mykey.pem file ssh port is enabled via security groups ( Used the same ealier )
