    With Entity Framework 5 in Visual Studio 2012 the code first feature could let you come to the question “Where is the automatically created database located?” I run in the question after changing the model which throws during the next run this error: “The model backing the 'MyContext' context has changed since the database was created. Consider using Code First Migrations to update the database (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=238269).” Okay – clear I thought “delete the database”. But where is the database and what type is it??? In this constellation the frameworks generates a localDB. You could access this database via SQL Server Object Explorer. For the first time you have to add this localDB. The server name is “(localdb)\v11.0”: And so we could browse through the content of this database. It got the same name like the context class.

  • Has Dart something useful that javascript doesn't have?

    http://www.dartlang.org/ I've checked out the site very briefly, and got curious. Is there any advantages of using Dart? Is it just a replacement for javascript? It looks like simpler java. Writing quite a lot of C# at work, the language feels very much like what I'm used to, so learning the syntax looks like a breeze to learn. Has anybody any opinions or experiences with the language? (Compared to coffeescript (= I'm not doing ruby syntax) the syntax looks more familiar to me).

    I think there are some js-libraries with programming the html5 canvas element. Which one to choose? I've done some js-coding with canvas and are somewhat familiar with the api. But I think somekind of library which encapsulates the somewhat tedious canvas api would be a good thing, so it speeds up the development.   • Interesting issue with WCF wsHttpBinding through a Firewall

    I have a web application deployed in an internet hosting provider. This web application consumes a WCF Service deployed at an IIS server located at my company’s application server, in order to have data access to the company’s database, the network guys allowed me to expose this WCF service through a firewall for security reasons. A diagram would look like this. [Hosted page] --- (Internet) --- |Firewall <Public IP>:<Port-X >| --- [IIS with WCF Service <Comp. Network Ip>:<Port-Y>] link text I also wanted to use wsHttpBinding to take advantage of its security features, and encrypt sensible information. After trying it out I get the following error: Exception Details: System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException: The message with To 'http://<IP>:<Port>/service/WCFService.svc' cannot be processed at the receiver, due to an AddressFilter mismatch at the EndpointDispatcher. Check that the sender and receiver's EndpointAddresses agree. Doing some research I found out that wsHttpBinding uses WS-Addressing standards, and reading about this standard I learned that the SOAP header is enhanced to include tags like ‘MessageID’, ‘ReplyTo’, ‘Action’ and ‘To’. So I’m guessing that, because the client application endpoint specifies the Firewall IP address and Port, and the service replies with its internal network address which is different from the Firewall’s IP, then WS-Addressing fires the above message. Which I think it’s a very good security measure, but it’s not quite useful in my scenario. Quoting the WS-Addressing standard submission (http://www.w3.org/Submission/ws-addressing/) "Due to the range of network technologies currently in wide-spread use (e.g., NAT, DHCP, firewalls), many deployments cannot assign a meaningful global URI to a given endpoint. To allow these ‘anonymous’ endpoints to initiate message exchange patterns and receive replies, WS-Addressing defines the following well-known URI for use by endpoints that cannot have a stable, resolvable URI. http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/08/addressing/role/anonymous" HOW can I configure my wsHttpBinding Endpoint to address my Firewall’s IP and to ignore or bypass the address specified in the ‘To’ WS-Addressing tag in the SOAP message header? Or do I have to change something in my service endpoint configuration? Help and guidance will be much appreciated. Marko. P.S.: While I find any solution to this, I’m using basicHttpBinding with absolutely no problem of course.

  • Problem connecting to isp server using xl2tpd as client. Ubuntu server 13.04

    I have followed guides found on google and ubuntu support pages and can get xl2tpd connection up but only under the following conditions: 1 - ADSL model must be configured and connected to the ISP or 2 - ADSL modem in bridge mode I must have an existing PPPoe connection established. If neither of the above are active xl2tpd wont trigger pppd and connect to the isp and thus tunnel connection fails to connect to the L2TP server of the ISP.   • c# Counter requires 2 button clicks to update

    Hi, I have a problem that has been bugging me all day. In my code I have the following: private int rowCount { get { return (int)ViewState["rowCount"]; } set { ViewState["rowCount"] = value; } } and a button event protected void addRow_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { rowCount = rowCount + 1; } Then on Page_Load I read that value and create controls accordingly. I understand the button event fires AFTER the Page_Load fires so the value isn't updated until the next postback. Real nightmare.     After about 15 minutes, a Norton Ghost 14 backup fails with Error EBAB03F1: The specified network name is no longer available. The source computer is a P4 laptop running Windows XP SP3. The target computer is a Core2 Quad desktop running Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. It does not help to disable Norton 360 on the source computer or Norton Antivirus 2008 on the target computer. The Event Viewer consistently shows the same two VSS-related errors after Norton Ghost starts but before it fails. It makes no difference if the VSS service is started or stopped. The VSS errors do not appear elsewhere in the event log, only after Ghost starts. The MSS event messages, however, are quite common, appearing throughout the log, and they may have nothing to do with the problem.     I want to migrate from my current mail server (old_server) for my domain mydomain.com. old_server setup is Postfix+LDAP+Cyrus. Now I want to migrate my domain mail to Zimbra server (zimbra), but I am considering option to leave current mail server working in the first phase, and then to only have subset of email addresses to be forwarded to zimbra server. It seems that zimbra refers this in their documentation as 'edge MTA'. Current config mydomain.com MX: old_server <---------- smtp send ----------> smtp receive New config mydomain.com MX: old_server zimbra <------------------------------------------- smtp send ----------> smtp receive ---- forward ----> smtp receive I need following: old_server to receive mail for my domain as before, but for some of the email addresses I want them to be delivered to zimbra server. I should be able to determine which email addresses will be forwarded. I would like to avoid possible false spam detections for mails from mydomain.com due to this setup. Questions: How should I configure postfix on old_server to support this mail forwarding? To avoid false spam detection, can I have outgoing mail from mydomain.com to be sent by zimbra or should I use old_server? Is there anything extra I would need to do in order to avoid possibility of my outgoing mails being marked as spam on other servers?

  • OSX: DNS records won't change?

    I've had two sites on my local host and have had mysite1.local and mysite2.local in my /etc/hosts file to pointing in my localhost. Now, I moved those sites into my homeserver (Ubuntu, Local network) and made changes to hosts file + also in /private/etc/hosts is same. 192.168.0.50 mysite1.local 192.168.0.50 mysite2.local I flushed my dnscache sudo dscacheutil -flushcache rebooted machine, reseted safari but still no changes.. Still if I try to go either mysite1.local or mysite2.local it is pointing to localhost?!? What could be the problem?? OS is Snow Leopard 10.6.8

  • laptop overheating ran defraggler and now its not as hot

    Trying to diagnose and fix an overheating Acer 5735 laptop, running speedfan and doing general workload to try and cause the overheat conditions. I notice that windows xp is badly fragmented according to defraggler, at 58% fragmentation. So I defrag whilst watching the speedfan window, which was at the start reporting high warning style symbols for all of the sensors. After the defrag, I rebooted and ran a few programs, and even defraggler again and the sensors in speedfan all reported green i.e. not high. Wondering if there is a correlation between windows fragmentation causing the hard drive to work harder and produce more heat inside the laptop? dont want to just assume that the problems are resolved, so either speedfan is not accurate enough or fragmentation can lead to additional hard drive heat? All comments or suggestions welcome.

    Hello. I am using port forwarding to utilize proxy server which is on remote machine. Remote machine hostname is remotemachine. Proxy is listening on 8118 port. I am translating this port to local port 5223. ssh -vvv -N remotemachine -L 5223:localhost:8118 Everything is fine if I don't use more than 10 simultaneous connections, when ssh just freezes. It no longer send data trough port forwarding. I.e. ab -c 10 -t 5 -X 'localhost:5223' 'http://www.google.ru/' works, but ab -c 20 -t 5 -X 'localhost:5223' 'http://www.google.ru/' causes ssh to freeze MaxSessions 30 parameter in /etc/ssh/sshd_config didn't helped at all. What can I do to remove this 10 connection limit? Nothing interesting in -vvv output =(

  • Replacing a W2K3 Domain Controller - what do I need to know?

    I have a network of around 70 machines, currently with two DCs both running Windows Server 2003 (DC0 & DC1). DC0 is a five year old Poweredge 1850 and has recently become increasingly flakey, and in the past fortnight has fallen over twice. I want to replace this machine, but I'm cautious as there is huge scope for this sort of thing to go wrong. The way I imagine doing this is building a new machine then doing a DCPROMO and running three domain controllers for a month or so until I'm happy that everything is working as it should be before retiring the old machine. Particular areas of concern are the replication of roles from the current controllers (GP settings for instance) and the ramifications of switching off the machine that has, up until now, been the 'primary'. If there are compelling reasons to use Server 2008 I'm willing to do so, however I don't know if this would cause problems with my exisiting 2003 machines. Any advice on best practice or previous experiences would be most welcome.

The suite has been working perfectly until last week ( no significant changes to system ) I have tried downloading the VC++ & uninstalled & reinstalled twice, even deleted the registry entry for office 2010 before reinstall but have had no success. I have tried resetting user accounts as well as computer accounts in Active Directory. I have removed the clients and even the proxy server from the domain, and rejoined them. I have installed a complete separate proxy server and get exactly the same problem when I point clients to a different proxy server on a different IP address.

  • Why do my download speeds drastically vary during a download?

    I watch the download speed rise and fall like waves in a storm. At night, during low bandwidth usage I have achieve speeds as high as 3.23 M/sec but the watch them decline to 250 K/sec. and then climb back up. Over and over. During the day my best is around 1.67 M/sec with lows into the 65 K/sec. On top of this, why does a download need to slow down when approaching the end of the download? It's not like a multi-hundred ton train needing to decrease speed as it approaches the station.

  • Samsung S23A750D 23" 120Hz get no signal

    I have a few days ago received this monitor. Samsung S23A750D 23" 120Hz I am using it with a Gainward Nvidia GTX570 Phantom GPU via DisplayPort cabling. The trouble I am having is that the monitor has great trouble picking up a signal from the GPU when the computer has gone into sleep mode or been switched off (at this point I can get a signal to the monitor). It's only when I turn the computer back on and then the monitor that I get no signal. To get a signal I have to remove the power cable and put back in or sometimes remove the DP cable and put back in. I have tried not turning the monitor off (the monitor goes into a sleep mode when the computer goes into sleep mode) but on putting the computer on it does not pick up a signal. It is only by removing the power cable and/or DisplayPort cable will I get a signal. And this is intermittent. I have tried upgrading the firmware from Samsung but this hasn't helped. Any ideas?

    Having problems with the NAT RULES and Access Rules changes on my ASA5505. Want to straight replace a 5505 with a newer 5505 and unfortunately this means dealing with old version 7.2 and the newer 8.4 configurations. my old NAT RULE: static (inside,outside) WebOutside WebInside netmask 255.255.255.255 and an Access Rule of: access-list outside_access_in extended permit tcp any host WebOutside eq www these dont work in 8.4 I understand there are some changed but I can find little information that makes any sense on how to configure these. Any pointers welcomed.
