  • Error compiling Visual Studio 2010 EditorClassifier Extension Template

    I'm trying to create an Editor Classifier Template project and run it. When I attempt to build I get an error message stating: "Error trying to read the VSIX manifest file 'extension.vsixmanifest'. Exception has been thrown by target of invocation." Any thoughts?   • Google Docs not importing CSVs consistently

    Hey everyone, I'm trying to import some csv data into google docs spreadsheet. The data I am entering is all made up of 16 digit integers. About 90% of them are imported perfectly but 10% are rewritten automatically into scientific notation. How do I turn this feature of. I just want all the numbers kept in their standard form.   • asp.net mvc 2 validating text inputs on modal windows

    hi guys, i am tasked with the job of creating client-side validation on a form in an asp.net MVC 2 application, which has a modal window (the modal exists as part of the wrapping form, it is not a form unto itself). how would i go about providing validation for these text field inputs while the modal is visible, but do not validate while the modal is not displayed (as to not cause problems in the rest of the form if the modal window is never required) What is the best approach to achieve this functionality? thanks, Nick

  • Did IE8 lose the document.frames collection?

    Hey all.. I noticed that an application I am maintaining was giving me a javascript error in IE8 and FF. The script was trying to get a collection of frame elements: document.frames This always returned 'undefined'. I placed a watch on the document object and noticed that this collection does not seem to be a member of the document object in IE8. I think this was always the case in FF but this same code works in older versions of IE. Has this been removed? -Nick

    Consider multiple domains (with different country extensions) that go to one singe physical website. Depending on the country extension of the domain, I want to route to a specific subfolder while keeping the active domain! Examples: www.mydomain.com/we/about-us.aspx to www.mydomain.com/content/com/we/about-us.aspx www.mydomain.fr/we/about-us.aspx to www.mydomain.fr/content/fr/we/about-us.aspx www.mydomain.be/we/about-us.aspx to www.mydomain.be/content/be/we/about-us.aspx Is this possible with the new web routing features in ASP.NET 4.0?   • WebBrowser control not navigating to links to "file://" protocol URIs

    I am setting the DocumentText property to an HTML string that contains links like: <a href="file:///D:/dir/file.html">NewPage</a> The links are shown properly in the WebBrowser, but nothing happens when I click them. The Navigating, Navigated and DocumentComplete events do not fire - nothing seems to happen at all. AllowNavigation is true and other links using HTTP are working. Any ideas please? Nick

    Everytime the IWpfTextView's TextBuffer changes I am trying to get the history's redostack and undostack and simply checking the count. When doing this I am encountering a "Method not supported exception" when trying to access the two stacks.   • Distinguish between screen timeout and power-button-press?

    Hi, my app does something when the screen goes black, but I want it to only carry out that task if the screen was turned off "by itself", through a screen timeout - NOT when the user presses the power-button. Is there any way to distinguish between those two events? ACTION_SCREEN_OFF obviously fires in both cases, and I haven't found any other intents that might match what I'm looking for.     Is there a good open source or reasonably priced EER modeling tool for MySQL besides MySQL Workbench? I find the MySQL Workbench interface to be clunky. I would like to be able to manage my production schema beginning all design changes in the EER and propogating those out to my schema for created and altered tables.     Conversation logs saved by Empathy are in XML format. Each one links to a stylesheet "empathy-log.xsl": <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="empathy-log.xsl"?> I've trawled my hard drive and the web but cannot find it (there is a empathy-log-manager.xsl but this is different). Does it even exist? If there is no such file I'll create my own but I'd rather use the one provided.

  • Bonjour/mDNS Broadcast across subnets

    I have just setup a new OSX Server in our office and verified that everything is working fine over our wired network (192.168.126.0/24). The problem that I am having is that our clients (Mac Laptops) are mainly connected via Wireless, which are running on a different subnet (192.168.1.0/24), and the mDNS Broadcast isn't reaching this subnet. The network configuration is somewhat foreign to myself (I don't manage the network in this location, but as of just recently the servers), however I don't believe there is any firewalls or routing rules between the two subnets which might cause the traffic to be rejected. I'm wondering if this is simply the mDNS broadcast not able to broadcast over the two different subnets (I'm still reading up on broadcast to understand it more) or there is something else which I might be able to try.

    We recently had an issues where I had rebooted our EC2 instance (Ubuntu x86_64, version 9.10 server) and due to an EC2 issue the instance needed to be stopped and was down for a few days. Now I have been able to bring the instance back online I cannot connect to SSH using the keypair which previously worked.   • Blocking internet poker applications

    I 'look after' the wireless internet for a cafe where I live, and we've noticed that there's quite a substantial slow down of internet speeds when certain users are playing internet poker. I've put in filters to block any HTTP traffic referencing gambling and poker etc, however I want to be able to block any applications (i.e. poker clients) which don't use HTTP. I've tried searching around for a list of poker clients and perhaps their ports, but have had no real luck. Does anyone know what these might be?

  • Install mSATA SSD on Lenovo A720

    I apologize in advance for using tag names in title, it seemed it would be clearer this way I just purchased a Lenovo A720 and they have a more expensive version than what I purchased that has a SSD. I figured to buy the SSD separately and save myself a little money and install it myself. I've taken off the base cover but there doesn't seem to be a place to put the SSD. Here are some pictures - any suggestions? There are places on the web where people have said they've done the installation but not how or with pictures.   • Configuring OS X L2TP VPN to use Certificate for IPSEC layer instead of Pre Shared Key

    I'm trying to setup a L2TP VPN on an OS X Snow Leopard Server setup, and have had success using a pre-shared key, however I would rather not rely on a simple string, and use a certificate instead. Setting this up on the server side is seemingly easy, you simply select a certificate you have generated from the list, and hit apply, however when I try to use the certificate on the client side it fails. I have exported the certificate into a P12 file, and then transferred to the client, and imported into the login keychain, however when I try to choose the certificate (from Network preferences, clicking Authentication Settings, then selecting Certificate and pressing Select) I am shown the following error: No machine certificates found Certificate authentication cannot be used because your keychain does not contain any suitable certificates. Use Keychain Access to import the certificate into your keychain. If you do not have the certificates required for authentication, contact your network administrator. Unfortunately even when I try to generate a certificate where I override the defaults, ensure the DNS name etc are set properly this doesn't change. When I select Certificate Authentication for the User Auth, and click Select the certificate for the server shows up there, but obviously this isn't where I need it to be available.

  • No sound from Java web applet

    Using Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers on Ubuntu 9.10, I am unable to get any sound out from Java (version 6 update 15) on Runescape or WebSDR. I'm only interested in getting WebSDR working and Runescape was the only other web applet I knew would have sound. Sound does work in a test applet I downloaded when run from the command line so it seems to be a web specific issue. Anyone else encountered or solved this or a similar issue? Are there any better applets out there that I can use to test my sound?
