  • Apache mod_rewrite redirect with prefix

    - by Marc
I am newbie with Apache's mod_rewrite and I'm having some difficulties getting it to do what I want. In my static directory, I have some javascript files (.js) with 2 kind of filename: xxxx.js which is the standard file name AT_xxxx.js (with prefixed filename) which has been duplicated from previous standard file name but also contains my customizations I would like to parse requests for each standard requested javascript file (xxxx.js) to check if a customized file exists (AT_xxxx.js) including all sub-directories. Then, in this case, use the custom file instead of the standard file (perhaps by internal redirect). I tried to figure this out for hours but something is still wrong. Note: Also, I don't know how to find custom files in sub-directories. DocumentRoot "/data/apps/dev0/custom/my_static" <filesMatch "\\.(js)$"> Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/AT_$1.js -f RewriteRule ^(.*[^/])/?$ %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/AT_$1.js [QSA,L] </filesMatch>

  • Serve PHP page in web root but show contents in subdirectories

    - by David
I have a web site on a shared hosting server. My directory layout looks like this /home /user /public_html /pics /family There is an index.php file in public_html. I need help writing .htaccess rules that will Serve the index.php file when www.domain.org is requested Force the user back to public_html when www.domain.org/pics is requested Allow the user to see the directory contents when www.domain.org/pics/family is requested I experimented with a lot of combinations of RewriteCond and RewriteRule, but I don't understand the documentation and examples well enough to know if what I want to do is even possible. The web server application is some version of Apache.

  • .htaccess language redirects with seo-friendly urls

    - by jlmmns
    How do I setup my .htaccess file to detect several languages, and redirect them to specific seo-friendly urls? Basically every url needs to go to index.php?lang=(...) So, for English language detection http://mysite.com has to go to http://mysite.com/en/ (index.php?lang=en) my .htaccess as of now (not working): RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP:HOST} http://mysite.com/ RewriteCond %{HTTP:Accept-Language} ^en [NC] RewriteRule ^$ http://mysite.com/en/ [L,R=301] RewriteCond %{HTTP:Accept-Language} ^de [NC] RewriteRule ^$ http://mysite.com/de/ [L,R=301] RewriteCond %{HTTP:Accept-Language} ^nl [NC] RewriteRule ^$ http://mysite.com/nl/ [L,R=301] RewriteCond %{HTTP:Accept-Language} ^fr [NC] RewriteRule ^$ http://mysite.com/fr/ [L,R=301] RewriteCond %{HTTP:Accept-Language} ^es [NC] RewriteRule ^$ http://mysite.com/es/ [L,R=301] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-l RewriteRule ^(en|de|nl|fr|es)$ index.php?lang=$1 [L,QSA]

  • RewriteRule not working for certain URLs

    - by keiki
There are a few domains pointing towards the same server, and of course I need them all redirect to only one of them. Redirects work, but only for certain URLs. What works: http://www.domain.com, http://domain.com, domain.com/index.html, domain.com/index.php, , domain.com/nonExistentDirectory, and if I click in the menu the following URLs are also redirected correctly: domain.com/foo/bar, domain.com/foo/bar.html or .php or other extension. What doesn't work: domain.com/existentDirectory, domain.com/foo/bar (if I type the URL in the address bar). If anyone will have the time and skill and will to tell me where's the mistake, I'll be deeply grateful. Here's my .htaccess file: AddHandler x-httpd-php .html .htm <ifModule mod_gzip.c> mod_gzip_on Yes mod_gzip_dechunk Yes mod_gzip_item_include file \.(html?|txt|css|js|php|pl)$ mod_gzip_item_include handler ^cgi-script$ mod_gzip_item_include mime ^text/.* mod_gzip_item_include mime ^application/x-javascript.* mod_gzip_item_exclude mime ^image/.* mod_gzip_item_exclude rspheader ^Content-Encoding:.*gzip.* </ifModule> <ifModule mod_expires.c> ExpiresActive On ExpiresDefault "access plus 1 seconds" ExpiresByType text/html "access plus 1 seconds" ExpiresByType image/gif "access plus 2592000 seconds" ExpiresByType image/jpeg "access plus 2592000 seconds" ExpiresByType image/png "access plus 2592000 seconds" ExpiresByType text/css "access plus 2592000 seconds" ExpiresByType text/javascript "access plus 216000 seconds" ExpiresByType application/x-javascript "access plus 216000 seconds" </ifModule> <ifModule mod_headers.c> <filesMatch "\\.(ico|pdf|flv|jpg|jpeg|png|gif|swf)$"> Header set Cache-Control "max-age=2592000, public" </filesMatch> <filesMatch "\\.(css)$"> Header set Cache-Control "max-age=2592000, public" </filesMatch> <filesMatch "\\.(js)$"> Header set Cache-Control "max-age=216000, private" </filesMatch> <filesMatch "\\.(xml|txt)$"> Header set Cache-Control "max-age=216000, public, must-revalidate" </filesMatch> <filesMatch "\\.(html|htm|php)$"> Header set Cache-Control "max-age=1, private, must-revalidate" </filesMatch> </ifModule> <ifModule mod_headers.c> Header unset ETag </ifModule> FileETag None <ifModule mod_headers.c> Header unset Last-Modified </ifModule> # BEGIN WordPress <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] </IfModule> # END WordPress RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^foo\.com$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.foo\.com$ RewriteRule (.*) http://domain.com/$1 [R=301,L,QSA] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^foo1\.com$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.foo1\.com$ RewriteRule (.*) http://domain.com/$1 [R=301,L,QSA] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^foo2\.com$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.foo2\.com$ RewriteRule (.*) http://domain.com/$1 [R=301,L,QSA] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^foo3\.com$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.foo3\.com$ RewriteRule (.*) http://domain.com/$1 [R=301,L,QSA] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^foo8\.com$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.foo8\.com$ RewriteRule (.*) http://domain.com/$1 [R=301,L,QSA] Thinking that the above version was overkill, I've also tried to redirect all the requests for domains different than the main on to be redirected to it like this: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^domain\.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://domain.com [L,R=301] Is it also wrong? Because it doesn't work either! P.S. @Sodved I've tried that and it doesn't help (I comment here because I can't seem to be able to comment your answer.) Removing the following piece of code didn't solve the issue either, so the problem must be somewhere else: # BEGIN WordPress <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] </IfModule> # END WordPress New details: using this tool for checking the redirects I got the following results for the URLs that are not redirected: Checked link: http://domain.com/aDirectory/ Type of link: direct link (note the trailing slash above) and: Checked link: http://domain.com/aDirectory Type of redirect: 301 Moved Permanently Redirected to: http://domain.com/aDirectory/ (no trailing slash here) I hope/suspect I'm getting closer to the cause of this behavior.

  • RewriteRule dropping escaped parameter

    - by Gerd
I need some help with the following RewriteRule: RewriteRule ^/iesearch/(.*)$ /jsp/search/ieaccelerators/visualsearch.jsp?q=$1 [L,PT] The intention is to rewrite search-queries from http://mydomain/iesearch/alvin+the+chip to a JSP. This works fine as long as the URL does not contain encoded characters such as: http://mydomain/iesearch/alvin+%26+the+chip. The rewrite log shows the following: (2) init rewrite engine with requested uri /iesearch/alvin+&+the+chip (2) rewrite '/iesearch/alvin+the+&+chip' - '/jsp/search/ieaccelerators/visualsearch.jsp?q=alvin+&+the+chip' (3) split uri=/jsp/search/ieaccelerators/visualsearch.jsp?q=alvin+&+the+chip - uri=/jsp/search/ieaccelerators/visualsearch.jsp, args=q=alvin+&+the+chip I would have hoped that the %26 is passed on instead of the &.

  • how do I redirect from a subdirectory to another directory, but strip off the original subdirectory

    - by Eric Cope
I have a Ruby on Rails app running on 12001. I am currently redirecting a subdomain to 127.0.0.1:12001 using some ReWriteCond detection. Now I want to redirect my subdirectory to that rails app. http[s]://domain.com/redmine to 127.0.0.1:12001 The current rules apply REQUEST_URI to the above rails path, but I need to strip "/redmine" from the front of REQUEST_URI... Any ideas?

  • Redirect Google crawler to different robots.txt via .htaccess

    - by user3474818
I have googled for the answer all day and still couldn't find an answer. I have a virtual subdomain www.static.example.com which is a mirror site of www.example.com. It means I have just one root folder for subdomain and domain aswell. I want to redirect crawlers to different robots.txt file - robots_static.txt when they see .static in url in which I will forbid indexing via /disallow command. I want to do this because I have duplicated content in Google search results. Subdomain is showing the exact same content as the main domain. Does anyone know how could I achieve that crawlers sees robots_static.txt instead of robots.txt? What I have managed to find so far is this: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.static.*$ [NC] RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^[A-Z]{3,9}\ /.*robots\.txt.*\ HTTP/ [NC] RewriteRule ^robots\.txt /robots_static.txt [NC,L] but when I check in webmaster tools, it still sees robots.txt as my robots file instead of robots_static.txt, so it crawls and index everything twice. What did I do wrong? Thanks EDIT: This is my .htaccess file ## # @package Joomla # @copyright Copyright (C) 2005 - 2013 Open Source Matters. • Why am I getting a 403 error on a POST to a PHP script?

    - by John Gallagher
Background I want to allow my users to submit a crash report which will get emailed to me. I'm using UKCrashReporter with the bundled PHP script I've modified. This code does a POST to a specified URL along with the crash report. I'm on a shared server running Linux. My main domain is synapticmishap.co.uk. The Problem When I send the crash report off, on the Cocoa side, it reports as having sent it successfully, but I don't receive an email. The code has been used in lots of other well established Cocoa projects and it was working for me a few months ago. That leads me to conclude that the problems are related to my web server setup, something I know almost nothing about. When I look at my log files, I see entries like this: IP Redacted - - [10/Jun/2010:09:47:53 +0100] "POST /synapticmishap/crashreportform.php HTTP/1.1" 403 74 "-" "UKCrashReporter" What I've tried I've tried accessing the page at http://synapticmishap.co.uk/synapticmishap/crashreportform.php via a browser. It loads fine. I've made sure the permissions on this php script are set so anyone can execute it. I've tried removing the deny entries from the section of .htaccess at various levels starting with root. I've downloaded the URLParams plugin for Firefox which allows you to simulate POSTs. I put in the URL above and tried a post with "crashlog" as the parameter and "test" as the value. This generated a 200 log entry in my log file - it seemed to work, although no mail message was sent. Code I've got the following at http://synapticmishap.co.uk/synapticmishap/crashreportform.php. I've simplified it to just the bare bones in an effort to get it working. <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <html> <head> <title>Crash Report</title> </head> <body> <p>This page contains super special magic which submits a crash report item to me.</p> <p>Nothing to see here - move along.</p> <?php mail( "[email protected]", "Crash Report", "\r\n\r\nThis is a test."); ?> </body> </html> This is my top level .htaccess file: RewriteEngine on # -FrontPage- IndexIgnore .htaccess */.??* *~ *# */HEADER* */README* */_vti* <Limit GET POST> order deny, allow deny from all allow from all </Limit> <Limit PUT DELETE> order deny, allow deny from all </Limit> Options All -Indexes RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^synapticmishap.co.uk$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.synapticmishap.co.uk$ RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^lapsusapp.co.uk$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.lapsusapp.co.uk$ RewriteRule ^/?$ "http\:\/\/synapticmishap\.co\.uk\/synapticmishap\/lapsuspromo\/" [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^jgtutoring.co.uk$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.jgtutoring.co.uk$ RewriteRule ^/?$ "http\:\/\/synapticmishap\.co\.uk\/tutoring" [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^synapticmishap.co.uk$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.synapticmishap.co.uk$ RewriteRule ^/?$ "http\:\/\/synapticmishap\.co\.uk\/synapticmishap" [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^jgediting.co.uk$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.jgediting.co.uk$ RewriteRule ^/?$ "http\:\/\/synapticmishap\.co\.uk\/editing" [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$ RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://synapticmishap.co.uk/.*$ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://synapticmishap.co.uk$ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.synapticmishap.co.uk/.*$ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.synapticmishap.co.uk$ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://synapticmishap.co.uk/synapticmishap/crashreportform.php/.*$ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://synapticmishap.co.uk/synapticmishap/crashreportform.php$ [NC] RewriteRule .*\.(jpg|jpeg|gif|png|bmp)$ - [F,NC] Help! • Redirect Desktop Internal Pages to Correct Mobile Internal Pages with Htaccess

I have built a Mobile site in a sub-domain. I have successfully implemented the redirect 302 from: www.domain.com to m.domain.com in htaccess. What I'm looking to achieve now it to redirect users from: www.domain.com/internal-page/ > 302 > m.domain.com/internal-page.html Notice that URL name for desktop and mobile is not the same. The code I'm using looks like this: # BEGIN WordPress <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] </IfModule> # END WordPress # Mobile Redirect # Verify Desktop Version Parameter RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} (^|&)ViewFullSite=true(&|$) # Set cookie and expiration RewriteRule ^ - [CO=mredir:0:www.domain.com:60] # Prevent looping RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^m.domain.com$ # Define Mobile agents RewriteCond %{HTTP_ACCEPT} "text\/vnd\.wap\.wml|application\/vnd\.wap\.xhtml\+xml" [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} "sony|symbian|nokia|samsung|mobile|windows ce|epoc|opera" [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} "mini|nitro|j2me|midp-|cldc-|netfront|mot|up\.browser|up\.link|audiovox"[NC,OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} "blackberry|ericsson,|panasonic|philips|sanyo|sharp|sie-"[NC,OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} "portalmmm|blazer|avantgo|danger|palm|series60|palmsource|pocketpc"[NC,OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT} "smartphone|rover|ipaq|au-mic,|alcatel|ericy|vodafone\/|wap1\.|wap2\.|iPhone|android"[NC] # Verify if not already in Mobile site RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^m\. # We need to read and write at the same time to set cookie RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !(^|&)ViewFullSite=true(&|$) # Verify that we previously haven't set the cookie RewriteCond %{HTTP_COOKIE} !^.*mredir=0.*$ [NC] # Now redirect the users to the Mobile Homepage RewriteRule ^$ http://m.domain.com [R] RewriteRule $/internal-page/ http://m.domain.com/internal-page.html [R,L]

  • Can mod_rewrite Conditions/Rules be executed in random order?

    - by Tom
I have some mod rewrite rules that test for the presence of a file on various NFS mounts and I would like that the tests occur randomly, as a very rudimentary way to distribute load. For example: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/(.+)$ RewriteCond /mnt/mount1/%1 -f RewriteRule ^/(.+)$ /mnt/mount1/$1 [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/(.+)$ RewriteCond /mnt/mount2/%1 -f RewriteRule ^/(.+)$ /mount2/$1 [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/(.+)$ RewriteCond /mnt/mount3/%1 -f RewriteRule ^/(.+)$ /mnt/mount3/$1 [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/(.+)$ RewriteCond /mnt/mount4/%1 -f RewriteRule ^/(.+)$ /mnt/mount4/$1 [L] As far as I understand mod_rewrite Apache will look for the file on /mnt/mount1, then mount2, mount3 and so on. Can I randomize this on each request? I understand this is an odd request but I need a creative solution to some unforeseen downtime. On a side note, do I need to redeclare RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/(.+)$ each time like I have done? Thanks

  • Apache2 - rewrite a bunch of specified pathname URLs to one URL

    - by James Nine
I need to rewrite a bunch of urls (about 100 or so) for SEO purposes, and there may be more being added in the future (probably another 50-100 later on). I need a flexible way of doing this and so far, the only way I can think of is to edit the .htaccess file using the rewrite engine. For example, I have a bunch of urls like this (please note that the query string is irrelevant, and dynamic; it could be anything. I was only using them purely as an example. I am only focusing on the pathname--the part between the hostname and query string, as marked in bold below): http://example.com/seo_term1?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=seo_term http://example.com/another_seo_term2?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=seo_term http://example.com/yet_another_seo_term3?utm_source=example_ad_network&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=seo_term http://example.com/foobar_seo_term4 http://example.com/blah_seo_term5?test=1 etc... And they are all being rewritten to (for now): http://example.com/ What's the most efficient/effective way of doing this so that I may be able to add more terms in the future? One solution I came across is to do this (in the .htaccess file): RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ / [NC,QSA] However, the problem with this solution is that even invalid urls (such as http://example.com/blah) will be rewritten to http://example.com instead of giving a 404 code (which is what it is supposed to do anyway). I'm still trying to figure out how all this works, and the only way I can think of is to write 100 more RewriteCond statements (such as: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} =/seo_term1 [NC,OR]) before the RewriteRule directive. For example: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} =/seo_term1 [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} =/another_seo_term2 [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} =/yet_another_seo_term3 [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} =/foobar_seo_term4 [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} =/blah_seo_term5 [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ / [NC,QSA] But that doesn't sound very efficient to me. Is there a better way?

  • mod_rewrite: redirect from subdomain to main domain

    - by Bald
I have two domains - domain.com and forum.domain.com that points to the same directory. I'd like redirect all request from forum.domain.com to domain.com (for example: forum.domain.com/foo to domain.com/forum/foo) without changing address in addres bar (hidden redirect). I wrote something like this and put it into .htaccess file: Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^forum\.example\.net$ RewriteRule (.*) http://example.com/forum/$1 [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-s [NC] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d [NC] RewriteRule ^(.+) index.php/$1 [L] That works only if I add Redirect directive: RewriteRule (.*) http://example.com/forum/$1 [R,L] But it changes previous address in address bar. EDIT: Ok, let's make it simple. I added those two lines at the end of the c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts on my local computer: 127.0.0.3 foo.net 127.0.0.3 forum.foo.net Now, I created two virtual hosts: <VirtualHost foo.net:80> ServerAdmin [email protected] ServerName foo.net DocumentRoot "C:/usr/src/foo" </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost forum.foo.net:80> ServerAdmin [email protected] ServerName forum.foo.net DocumentRoot "C:/usr/src/foo" </VirtualHost> ..and directory called "foo", where i put two files: .htaccess and index.php. Index.php: <?php echo $_SERVER['PATH_INFO']; ?> .htaccess: Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine on RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^forum\.foo\.net$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/forum/ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-s [NC] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d [NC] RewriteRule ^(.+)$ /index.php/forum/$1 [L] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^forum\.foo\.net$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-s [NC] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d [NC] RewriteRule ^(.+) index.php/$1 [L] When I type address http://forum.foo.net/test in address bar, it displays /forum/test which is good. http://foo.net/a/b/c shows /a/b/c which is good. But! http://forum.foo.net/ displays empty value (should display /forum).

  • Mod_rewrite is ignoring the extension of a file

    - by ngl5000
This is my entire mod_rewrite condition: <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> <Directory /var/www/> Options FollowSymLinks -Multiviews AllowOverride None Order allow, deny allow from all RewriteEngine On # force www. (also does the IP thing) RewriteCond %{HTTPS} !=on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^mysite\.com [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://mysite.com/$1 [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^system.* RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php?/$1 [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^application.* RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php?/$1 [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.+)\.(\d+)\.(js|css|png|jpg|gif)$ $1.$3 [L] RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} /index\.(php|html) RewriteRule (.*)index\.(php|html)(.*)$ /$1$3 [r=301,L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^(/index\.php|/assets|/robots\.txt|/sitemap\.xml|/favicon\.ico) RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php/$1 [L] # Block access to "hidden" directories or files whose names begin with a period. This # includes directories used by version control systems such as Subversion or Git. RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} -d [OR] RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} -f RewriteRule "(^|/)\." - [F] </Directory> </IfModule> It is suppose to allow only access to mysite.com(/index.php|/assets|/robots.txt|/sitemap.xml|/favicon.ico) The error was noticed with: mysite.com/sitemap vs mysite.com/sitemap.xml Both of these addresses are resolving to the xml file while the first url should be resolving to mysite.com/index.php/sitemap * For some reason mod_rewrite is completely ignoring the lack of an extension. It sounded like a Multiviews problem to me so I disabled Multiviews and it is still going on. ***And then a different rule will eventually take the index.php out, I am having another problem with an extra '/' being left behind when this happens. This httpd file is setting up for my codeigniter php framework

  • HTTPS/HTTP redirects via .htaccess

    - by Winston
I have a somehow complicated problem I am trying to solve. I've used the following .htaccess directive to enable some sort of Pretty URLs, and that worked fine. For example, http://myurl.com/shop would be redirected to http://myurl.com/index.php/shop, and that was well working (note that stuff such as myurl.com/css/mycss.css) does not get redirected: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond ${REQUEST_URI} !^(index\.php$) RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^/?(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L] But now, as I have introduced SSL to my webpage, I want the following behaviour: I basically want the above behaviour for all pages except admin.php and login.php. Requests to those two pages should be redirected to the HTTPS part, whereas all other requests should be processed as specified above. I have come up with the following .htaccess, but it does not work. h*tps://myurl.com/shop does not get redirected to h*tp://myurl.com/index.php/shop, and h*tp://myurl.com/admin.php does not get redirected to h*tps://myurl.com/admin.php. RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTPS} on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^(admin\.php$|login\.php$) RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://%{HTTP_HOST}/${REQUEST_URI} [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^(admin\.php$|login\.php$) RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://myurl.com/%{REQUEST_URI} [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^(index\.php$) RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^/?(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L] I know it has something to do with rules overwriting each other, but I am not sure since my knowledge of Apache is quite limited. How could I fix this apparently not that difficult problem, and how could I make my .htaccess more compact and elegant? Help is very much appreciated, thank you!
