  • Large Users Profile - Windows 7 - Machine running slowly

    I have the MD of a client of ours who has a Windows 7 Profile that is currently 14GB thanks to Videos/Music and Documents. The first thing we did was to switch from roaming to local. What I need to know is now the profile is local am I wasting my time by reducing it any further? Does it really make a difference to performance having a large local user profile? Only the 4GB outlook ost that talks to the network frequently. Thanks in advance.... Richard

  • Google Webmaster Tools is showing duplicate URLs based on page title differences

    I have 700+ title tag duplicates showing in WMT. Every first link in that picture is as duplicate link of second one. I don't know from where the first link got indexed by Google when that link doesn't exist in the site. It's showing the title of every page as link. Original link: http://www.sitename.com/job/407/Swedish-plus-Any-other-Nordic-Language-Customer-Service-Representative-Dublin-Ireland. Duplicate link: http://www.sitename.com/job/407/Swedish-plus-Any-other-Nordic-Language-Customer-Service-Representative-Dublin-Ireland-Ireland. How can this happen? I have checked entire site I didn't find where the second version is linked. I have no images linked to with duplicated version of URL.

  • Can't I just use all static methods?

    What's the difference between the two UpdateSubject methods below? I felt using static methods is better if you just want to operate on the entities.   • What's the best way to manage list item sort order with Drag & Drop UI?

    I have a list of Students that I should display to user on a web page in tabular format. The items are stored in DB along with SortOrder information. On the web page, user can rearrange the list order by dragging and dropping the items to their desired sort order, similar to this post. Below is a screenshot of my test page. In the above example, each row has sort order info attached to it. When I drop John Doe (Student Id 10) above the Student Id 1 row, the list order should now be: 2, 10, 1, 8, 11. What's the optimistic (less resource hungry) way to store and update Sort Order information? My only idea for now is, for every change in the list's sort order, every object's SortOrder value should be updated, which in my opinion is very resource hungry. Just FYI: I might have at most 25 rows in my table.

  • Drawing a random x,y grid of objects within a prespective

    I'm wrapping my head around OpenGL ES 2.0 and I think I'm trying to do something very simple, but I think the math may be eluding me. I created a simple, flat-ish cylinder in Blender that is 2 units in diameter. I want to create an arbitrary grid of these edge to edge (think of a checker board). I'm using a 3D perspective with GLKit: CGSize size = [[self view] bounds].size; _projectionMatrix = GLKMatrix4MakePerspective(GLKMathDegreesToRadians(45.0f), size.width/size.height, 0.1f, 100.0f); So, I managed to manually get all of these cylinders drawn on the screen just fine. However, I would like to understand how I can programmatically "fit" all of these cylinders on the screen at the same time given the camera location, screen size, cylinder diameter, and the number of rows/columns. So the net effect is that for small grids (i.e., 5x5) the objects are closer to the camera, but for large grids (i.e., 30x30) the objects are farther away. In either case, all of the cylinders are visible.

  • iPhone 3d Model format: .h file, .obj, or some other?

    I'm beginning to write an iPhone game using OpenGL-ES and I've come across a problem with deciding what format my 3D models should be in. I've read (link escapes me at the moment) that some developers prefer the models compiled in Objective-C .h files. Still, others prefer having .obj as these are more portable (i.e., for deployment on non-iPhone platforms). Various 3D game engines seem to support many(?) formats, but I'm not going to use any of these engines as I would like to actually learn OpenGL-ES. Am I putting myself at a disadvantage here by not using a packaged engine? Thanks!

  • Microsoft InTune in a SBS2008 Environment

    I'm looking into using InTune and Office 365, mainly for the licensing benefits it brings but also because our company is moving to having more users based around the globe and I feel it will make managing the computers easier. Currently we have a SBS2008 (Premium) server running Exchange and File and Print which I need to keep for File and Print (Exchange can move to Office 365). I cant find any information on how the AD is synchronized between InTune and the SBS server (as users will still needs access control to file shares on the SBS server). Does anyone have any experience in doing this or even know if its possible? Richard

  • I would like to know if someone has applescript to loop al my stickynotes and put it in a textfile

    I have been meaning to do this for a while, but I never got around to do it. The problem is that I have to do research how applescript works. Anyway, I have now collected over 200 snippets for my programming, but I need to sort them out Putting them all in a textfile with some obvious breaks inbetween I could sort them and tag them for another snippet programm.     Hi, Anyone know how I can add a marker to an image (not a map) in Javascript? Ideally I'd like a handler that behaves much like adding a marker to a map - i.e. onclick causes a marker to be displayed at the point that was clicked, and returns the x/y pixel coordinates of the point that was clicked.   • Google Maps v3 - Adding makers results in duplicate markers

    Hi guys, I'm having some problems with Google Maps v3. I have an event listener on "bounds_change" that adds all accommodations(markers) within the active bounds. When i move the map slightly, the same markers are added again because they are located in the bounds. So every time I move the map, duplicate markers are added.     Hi I'm looking to upgrade from Visual Studio 2008 Pro to Visual Studio 2010 Pro without MSDN. On the MSDN US site there's pricing for Upgrade from Standard for $299. On the UK MSDN site however, the only options are to buy with MSDN for £484.99. Obviously a big difference in price there! I can't find any info as to what qualifies for the Upgrade from Standard - anyone know about this? Or whether it's available in the UK? thanks Richard

    Hi, I trying to create some dirs like this: @mkdir("photos/$cat/$sku", 0777, true) it creates the first directory with 0777 permissions, but when it creates the second is uses 000 as it's perms, so it fails to create the third. A workaround this please? Thanks, Richard.
