• Trying to run my code and compiler seems to just close after it executes [migrated]

• Login screen restarts while entering password

  I am having a problem that only occurred after installing the fglrx proprietary driver through the additional drivers app. The exact same issue is described in this question, however it's closed. Must login twice before entering Unity; first login screen has graphical anomalies When I boot up my computer, once I get to lightdm login screen I will start typing my password, and upon the entering of two of my password characters "n2" the screen will start displaying some corruption in the very top edge of the screen, then after I hit the number 2, lightdm seems to crash and it will restart and everything is fine, I can login from that point. So the issue is, every time I reboot, I have to login once, allow lightdm to crash and restart, then login as normal. The issue did not occur prior to installing fglrx, and has happened through several reinstalls.

• Group Policy Trust Problem

  Hi, I've setup a new group policy for our windows XP users but now when they run a link to a program they get a trust box which they have to click 'run' on. I think its a trusted locations thing ie, mapped drives, etc. Is there a quick way to stop this happening ? Any help would be very much appreciated. Regards Scott

• How can I forward all web traffic from my Cisco ASA 5100 to a checkpoint firewall?

  Hi, I currently have two Cisco ASA 5100 routers setup with a site-to-site VPN at different physical locations. They are successfully configured so that all traffic at our remote site is forwarded over this VPN tunnel to our router here, which is fine, however I need the web traffic that comes here to then be forwarded onto our Check Point firewall router.   Oracle released Agile PLM 9.3 SP2 on June 14 and the Agile installer for AutoVue 20 for Agile PLM on April 30. Also available are the new versions of AUT and Averify - 1.6.3 for both tools. 9.3 SP2 is a combined English and NLS release for use on any version of 9.3.0. SP2 contains many bug fixes and rolls up several Hot Fixes - please review the Readme for all the details. In addition, this release also addresses some scalability issues when working with very large Exports and Reports. When exporting very large BOMs, the export module will now release objects more efficiently to reduce the amount of memory consumed on the Application Server. Adminstrators can also control the maximum row limits for Users verses system processes, like ACS. Several out of the box BOM reports have also been changed to use a new row limit option. The combination of all these changes will provide more stability on the application server for customers managing very large datasets. 9.3 SP2 also adds support for Oracle Database 11gR2 for Windows, Oracle Internet Directory (OID) and Oracle Access Manager (OAM). Please note that currently the Variant Patch is not intended to be released for SP2. Customers running the Variant Patch should remain on 9.3.0.0 or 9.3.0.1. Back in April, we also released the AutoVue 20 for Agile PLM installer. AutoVue 20 has many new features which will help Agile PLM customers. Large multi-page Word documents and 2D CAD documents will open more quickly to the first page or first rendition. Memory usage is less when working with 3D Models. There are many new formats supported for MCAD, 2D Cad, and EDA. AutoVue 20 is immediately available for Windows and Linux platforms. • Drupal to Wordpress migration scope for SEO

  I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum, please let me know if it's not (or if there is a better one) and I'll withdraw the question. I'm migrating a drupal site to wordpress and I was wondering what the concerns are with respect to preserving google rank, etc. while assuming the page content is somewhat similar. I've set up 301 redirects, and created a new site map, but the surrounding html / menus, etc are different. Is this considered a concern and are there a best practice for this kind of migration?

• Why does waking from hibernate take nearly ten minutes on 11.10?

  Im running 11.10 64bit on a Dell XPS 15 L502x laptop. It uses an i5 proc and has 16Gb ram. Whenever I close the lid on the laptop I have it set to hibernate as I want to continue whatever I was previously running. Generally that is simple text editing, so my mem usage would normally be only a Gb or 2. When I open the lid and it resumes from Hibernation, it takes up to ten minutes to do so. Extremely frustrating. Is there anything I can do to make hibernate function properly. On windows it used to wake from Hibernation in less than 30 seconds. Its really frustrating and souring my experience with Ubuntu. Any help would be gratefully appreciated! Thanks guys/gals! S

• Installing Windows 8 over 12.04, but getting "error: unknown filesystem"

  I have had bad experiences with 12.04 on my laptop, too many things just dont work so am wiping it and replacing with Windows 8 release preview to get it running again. Anyway, I installed normally, deleted partitions and formatted and installed windows fine, but now there is an error coming up when it boots: error: unknown filesystem grub rescue Ive tried repairing from Windows 8 disk, doing FixMbr and FixBoot but hasnt worked, neither has reinstalling. Any ideas how to get rid of this?

• Allow access to WordPress site only by links in email newsletters

  I send out a personal email newsletter, and have been looking into sending it via some service like MailChimp, or sendy.co. Many of these email services suggest, or require, the email newsletter content to be available online, in case the recipient's email app doesn't render it properly, or at all. The thing is I don't want my newsletter contents visible to the whole world. Nor do I want to require existing recipients to make accounts/be assigned accounts, with passwords. So, the question is: How can my WordPress site content be viewable only by clicking on the link to it in the email newsletter. It can't be found in a Google search; but once at the site the visitor can view previous newsletter contents. It seems an .htaccess file would do the trick, but I have been unable to figure out the syntax for this. Thanks for your help. I have copied below two other questions, and answers, which have helped me word my question clearly. Similar to this request about allowing access to a certain group while still restricting access to the world: Is there a way to password protect directory only in cpanel. But the user should not be prompted the password, when they try to access it via web? • Mass bulk add domains to web hosting service (possible?)

  I was wondering if anyone does bulk adding of domains to your web hosting provider (Amazon, Linode, Rackspace, etc). I am thinking of creating a product that allows user to host their site on top of my web hosting and want something that can allow me to bulk add domains (and point DNS to my web hosting DNS) with as little manual work as possible. • How to Align Gun with Bullets

  I have a top-down 2D shooter. I have an image of a player holding a gun, that rotates to face the mouse. Please note that the gun isn't a separate image tethered to the player, but rather part of the player. Right now, bullets are created at the player's x and y. This works when the player is facing the right way, but not when they rotate. The bullets move in the right direction, but don't come from the gun. How can I fix this? • Recover files from a SATA drive from USB

  I've damaged the drive I had in my windows laptop and now I want to try to recover as many files as possible. I know very little about linux though. I have Ubuntu 10.04. I have a docking station for the drive and it is connected to my linux machine. The drive appears in disk utility. Unfortunately, this is where I have no idea where to proceed. Any help is appreciated and I can provide more info if needed.
