  • Does the android market use your merchant API callback URL during the Google checkout process for pa

    If I have a paid app on Android Market, will my merchant API callback URL get a hit when the customer goes to check out? I am wondering how merchants/vendors/developers secure their applications for android market. I have used google checkout before to implement a custom integration, so I understand how that all works. What I do not see anywhere that I have looked is what, if any, integration does the merchant/developer have with the Android Market checkout process? I understand that the market uses google checkout, but in that case the market hosts the checkout process and not the merchant, so it's not clear whether they give your URL a call. So where is the hook? Am I right in assuming it is the merchant API callback URL?

    I understand it is possible to sell the same application both in the market and outside it, great. I still don't understand a few things, that AFAIK are not mentioned in the contract but I might have missed or misunderstood something, so I'm going to ask. Disclaimer: I know you're not a lawyer, etc. etc. Let's say I give in the market a demo version, and I sell in the market the full version too. May I also sell the full version outside the market? I understand that you can't give away the demo in the market and then collect the payment outside, but what if I do allow the user to buy it in the market, but also allow him to buy outside the market? What if I charge a lower price if he buys outside the market?

I am looking for some auto-complete stock look-up API like if i query fo "Go*" ... how can i get all stock symbols starting with GO* = Goog etc ... is there any APi for wildcard stock symbol searches Any help would be great ..     Whenever I try and uncompress the tar file, I get this: tar (child): nakasi-jro03d-factory-e102ba72.tg: Cannot open: No such file or directory tar (child): Error is not recoverable: exiting now tar: Child returned status 2 tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now I'm fairly new to Ubuntu. So I'm pretty sure that's my fault. So I just compress it manually using the GUI. But when I try to flash it, I get sudo: ./flash-all.sh: command not found Please help.

    I was told that http://www.edgecast.com/ is very good CDN provider for Australian market. I have a cloud server based in Sydney Australia but was wondering whether it's even worth getting cdn as my target market is only Australia based also. Would I see any performance gain if I use above CDN services or would this be more for sites that target international visitors? I have Apache installed in our server but I would like to install Nginx. Would I see much more gain in performance on this change than CDN or should I go for both as they are all beneficial?

    I believe that my current game project is very well-suited for educational gaming; so well-suited, in fact, that I know of several different schools (one community college and at least one or two high schools) that have used versions of it at some time or another. And that's without any such marketing on my part. I'd like to expand on this part of the potential user base. But I have absolutely no experience in dealing with school administrations. How can I break into this market enough to be noticed? And on a side note, could marketing the game as educational kill the gamers market?

Is there any way to launch the market intent in a mode that will take the user to the feedback / comments section of the page? I already use this approach for linking my demo to the paid app...     Hello all, This is a simple question. Is there a way to allow users to enter in a comment and or rating for my app from directly within my app and have that data posted back to the Android Market? If so, what would the code for that look like if I used an EditText view to allow user input? If not, then is my only other option directly linking to my app in the Market (i.e. the user clicks the link in my app, or a button, and the Market app launches with my app page displayed)? For example: view.setOnClickListener( new OnClickListener(){ public void onClick(View v) { startActivity( new Intent( Intent.ACTION_VIEW, Uri.parse("market://details?id=packagename") ) ); } } *where "packagename" is replaced by my app's package name from the manifest.
