  • What does the term 'overinstallation' mean?

    I came across this term here: "11882875 -- Essbase Server does not start after an overinstallation." I know that a clean install is a software installation in which any previous version is removed. Googling 'overinstallation' turned up nothing, and I don't like to just assume it simply means 're-install'. UPDATE: So my understanding now is - the term "re-install" can be a bit ambiguous as it could either signify an installation after an uninstallation or otherwise. On the other hand the term "over-installation" specifically talks about installing something over an existing installation, that involved no uninstallations.

  • Ubuntu 14.10 no GUI or term login

    I have updated yesterday my Ubuntu 14.10 installation with apt-get dist-upgrade. I was working all afternoon and after that I have rebooted computer. Once done it, lightdm doesn't starts (only gnome logo) and I can not view any of Ctrl + Shift + [1-6] terminals (cursor is blinking). I have read a lot of posts with no success: nividia/intel conflicts (I have a laptop with an Intel graphic card) I have enabled nomodeset and tried all this options My computer boots to a black screen, what options do I have to fix it? I have repaired grub I can load recovery/livecd/windows and mount partitions and network without problem I have all packages and system updated Here my logs. X11 not shows any error or problem, is loading all needed drivers without problem. How can I raise the level of debug? Best regards.

  • Sharepoint 2010 Managed Metadata - unable to get Term from TermSet

    Hi guys, Having a really aggravating problem using Managed Metadata in SP2010 where I can get a Taxonomy Session, Term Store and Term set fine, but when I try to retrieve a term from the term set, I get a TermStoreOperationException which says that it "failed to read from or write to database". Does anyone have any idea as to why I can get the Term Set but not the terms? I can't quite understand why when they all reside in the same database I can get the set but not the terms within it. The code I'm using is below: TaxonomySession txSession = new TaxonomySession(site, true); TermStore termStore = txSession.DefaultSiteCollectionTermStore; TermSet termSet = termStore.GetTermSet(txField.TermSetId); TermCollection termCollection = termSet.GetTerms(xnField.InnerText.Trim(), true); //exception thrown on this line.     Hello, I use Emacs and I run bash with M-x term command. There is a problem: colors in the *terminal* buffer aren't the same as in Gnome Terminal, and they are worse (do you need a screen shot?).     Hello, I'm using Emacs and M-x term for a terminal. Since my typical workflow looks like this: edit some code C-x C-o to the terminal buffer (or C-x b term[Enter] or something) press Up key to use the last command press Enter to run it C-x C-o to go back I want to bind all of these (except the first step... maybe) to one command, I believe Emacs is awesome enough to do that :-) So, a command must: go to the buffer with terminal (maybe it shouldn't change any windows at all, maybe it should split the window vertially (if it weren't split already) and use the right sid) run a last command what've been run there go back to the last buffer/part of the screen Thank you! I'm not really used to the Emacs scripting system, and I hope someone will help me and someone else will be able to use the answer to improve his workflow, since I believe this is a pretty common one Examples of commands: python manage.py test python manage.py test stats python solve.py # for project-euler puzzles :-) the first and the second runs over a ssh (in a terminal) sometimes (I like developing with vagrant) I understand that it's easy to bind the first and the third ones, but the second changes too often - I'd just like to "run last command"

  • Looking for a short term solution to improve website performance with additional server

    I am working with a small team to run an internal website running with PHP 5.3.9, MySQL 5.0.77. All the files and database are hosted on a dedicated Linux machine with the following configuration: Intel Xeon E5450 8 CPU cores @3.00GHz, 2992.498 MHz, Cache 6148 KB, Cent OS – Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.4 We started small and then the database got bigger and now the website performance degraded significantly. We often get server space overrun, mysql overloaded with too many calls, etc. We don't have much experience dealing with these issues. We recently got another server that we were thinking to use to improve performance. Since it has better configuration, some of us wanted to completely move everything to the new machine. But I am trying to find out how we can utilize both machine for optimized performance. I found options such as MySQL clustering, Load balancer, etc. I was wondering if I could get any suggestion for this situation "How to utilize two machines in short term for best performance", that would be great. By short term we are looking for something that we can deploy in a month or so. Thanks in advance for your time.

  • tmux and screen-256 TERM not supported on remote hosts

    I have set up my tmux to use screen-256colors and it works great with vim. However, when I ssh to a remote host from within tmux, screen-256colors isn't recognized, so I'm getting errors like this: E558: Terminal entry not found in terminfo 'screen-256color' not known. Available builtin terminals are: builtin_ansi builtin_xterm builtin_iris-ansi builtin_dumb defaulting to 'ansi' Other than editing each remote .bashrc (similarly to this suggestion), is there any way to set the TERM correctly and automatically on the remote host?

  • adding a background color to search term results

    I'm trying to add a background color to a user submitted search result when a user enters a search term on a page (which is basically one big table). This is a text based search. I'm using jquery to show/hide the table rows that do not have the search term as text within the TR, but I'd ideally like to take the additional step of taking the search term (the entered value), and matching any of those text terms in the remaining (showing) rows and adding say a yellow background to the word(s).   • What is the correct term for the number of bits used by an operating system

    Recently, some discussions came up about 32 bit vs. 64 bit implementations of operating systems. While I was composing a message about this topic, I realized that I did not know if there was a correct term for the number of bits supported by an operating system. For example, various versions of Solaris and Linux have 32bit and 64bit releases. Is the distinction "architecture"? In my experience, that has referred to chip types (Intel vs. PPC). Is it a "release"? Typically, I think of a release as a version number a consistent feature set, that might run on different architectures. Maybe it is just "architecture", after all, even though a chip family might have used several different bit sizes over time, the chips themselves are different when you jump from 32bit to 64bit.

  • vim: highlighting a search term without moving the cursor

    Using Vim, I sometimes find myself staring at a section of source code for a while and suddenly want some variable on the screen to pop out. That's easy: /<var> which highlights them all. My issue is that it more often than not the search shifts my window so I'm not looking at the source code from the same place. Even if it's only shifted a few lines, it's still throws me off since I need to take a few seconds to figure out where things have moved to. Is it possible to highlight a search term without moving the cursor to the next match?

  • Drupal 7: Create a taxonomy term for each node and use the node title as the term name

    Is there anyway of doing this by using rules or by some custom code? I did try using rules but I can't find a way of adding a new term and set the name as the node title because the [node:title] token is not avilable. I know this is possible using the NAT module but the way this module changes the taxonomy terms hierarchy if you add a term reference field that uses the same taxonomy vocabulary which ruins the whole purpose of what I am trying to do.

  • Copy/Paste in emacs ansi-term shell

    I have configured my emacs to run zsh shell within ansi-term. However, copy/paste no longer works i.e. nothing is getting pasted from kill-ring to the terminal. Changing the TERM to vt100, or eterm doesn't solve the problem. Would appreciate any ideas or solution. Thanks Sandeep
