  • Looking for tutorial to call WCF service from classic ASP

    Hello everyone, I have some legacy classic ASP code (not ASP.Net, but ASP), and I want to call a WCF service which I developed by using VSTS 2008 + C# + .Net 3.5 and using basic Http Binding. Any reference samples? I heard the only way is -- we have to manually generate the tricky SOAP message, and parse SOAP response, is that true? :-) thanks in advance, George

  • Javascript - find swfobject on included page and call javascript function

    I’m using the following script on my website to play an mp3 in flash. To instantiate the flash object I use the swfobject framework in a javascript function. When the function is called the player is created and added to the page. The rest of the website is in php and the page calling this script is being included with the php include function. A div on the same page has the id ‘#status1’ and a little image of a speaker is in the div. When you push the playbutton, the div with the speaker is fading in and when you push the stopbutton, the div with the speaker is fading out, very simple. And it works as I want it to do. But the problem is, when a song is finished, the speaker doesn’t fade out. Is there a simple solution for this? I already tried using the swfobject framework to get the flash player from the page and call the ‘IsPlaying’ on it, but I’m getting the error that ‘swfobject’ can’t be found. All I need is a little push in the right direction or an example showing me how I can correctly get the currently playing audio player (in flash), check if it’s playing and if finished, call a javascript function to led the speaker-image fade-out again. Hope someone here can help me

    Is it possible to call winrar through perl on a windows system, such as perl -e "rar a -rr10 -s c:\backups\backup.rar @backup.lst" If so, is there a more efficient way to do this? I've looked up "perl -e" +winrar on google, however none of the results gave me any answer that was remotely close to what i was looking for. The system Im running this on is a Windows XP system. Im open to doing this in another language like python if its easier, however I am more comfertable with perl.

    I need to write a VBScript script to check the state of a dial-up connection, perform the dial up if disconnected, hang up the connection etc. I know this can be done using RAS API functions, so I'm wondering if there's any way to call these functions from VBScript?     I have been struggling with this for some times.. I searched around but didnt get a solution yet. This is only an issue on production server. In my development environment, everything works just fine. I am using JQuery/Ajax to update product information based on product's Color attribute. for example, a product has A and B color, the price for color A is different from color B. When user choose different color, the price information is updated as well.     I'm writing a Rails 3 generator that creates two different models. Here's a very simplified example of what I'm trying to do: def my_generator_task invoke "model", ["foo"] invoke "model", ["bar"] end The problem is that the Thor invoke method only invokes a task once, so the second call to the "model" task never happens and the "bar" model is never created. Does anyone know an elegant way to accomplish this, preferably in a way that doesn't break the ability to run "rails destroy" with the generator?

    The Compiler claims an error saying: "initializer element is not constant", when I try to initialize a static variable inside a method with a call to a static method (with + in its definition). Anyway I can tell him that this method always returns the same value. I know this is not the same as static method, but there seems to be no constant methods in Objective-C (other than macros which won't work here because I am calling UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOM() from inside the method).
