• Install Additional Printer Drivers (x86) on Vista (x64) - Can't find suitable (x86) ntprint.inf

  I have a printer connected to my computer that I'd like to share on my home network - shouldn't be a problem. The computer the printer is connected to is running Vista Ultimate x64. The computers I'm trying to share with are x86 Windows XP Professional and x86 Vista, so I need to install additional (x86) drivers. I checked the box to add x86 printer drivers and then it asked for the location of the drivers. I browsed to the location and clicked OK. It then prompted "Please provide path to Windows media (x86 processor). When I click "Browse..." it wants the location of a file named ntprint.inf It looks like it's asking for a Windows (x86) installation disk. I put one in but I can't seem to find this file on the 32-bit Vista install disk Where is the proper place to find this file?

  I originally tried to rejoin a computer to a network which led to a "cannot find domain" error. The username/password box don't even come up. some tests i ran: I can ping the server, however I can't ping the domain name domain1.local. nslookup can't find the domain either. It looks to the isp's dns instead of my own to resolve the local machines. So i go to the dns and run netdiag.exe and gives me this error.   If someone starts to use the wifi, i can see that with logread: Jan 23 21:04:47 router daemon.info hostapd: wlan0: STA XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX IEEE 802.11: authenticated But how can i see, that he/she's disconnecting? Theres no "bla-bla deauthenticated bla" line in logread, or even a thing that points to that someone get's disconnected.. I tried to google: http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/uci/system But it doesn't writes about loglevel. Can anyone help me find out, how to find out that someone disconnects it's wifi from the router?   This problem already has been described mutliple times in different mailing lists, but no solution has yet been published. My original setup is as follows (but in the mean time i have a simpler one on Windows 7): Ubuntu server with apache 2.2 and python 2.7 virutal python environment created with virtualenv installed babel, genshi and trac in this order using pip in the virtual environment Trac seems to run fine with tracd, but when visiting it through apache, i get the following error in an official trac error page: AttributeError: Cannot find an implementation of the "IRequestHandler" interface named "WikiModule" The stacktrace looks like this: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/srv/trac/python-environment/lib/python2.5/site-packages/Trac-0.13dev_r10668-py2.5.egg/trac/web/main.py",line 473, in _dispatch_request dispatcher.dispatch(req) File "/srv/trac/python-environment/lib/python2.5/site-packages/Trac-0.13dev_r10668-py2.5.egg/trac/web/main.py", line 154, in dispatch chosen_handler = self.default_handler File "/srv/trac/python-environment/lib/python2.5/site-packages/Trac-0.13dev_r10668-py2.5.egg/trac/config.py", line 691, in __get__ self.section, self.name)) AttributeError: Cannot find an implementation of the "IRequestHandler" interface named "WikiModule". Please update the option trac.default_handler in trac.ini. I already tried a lot to get down to the root of the problem, for me it looks as if all nativ trac components refuse to load. When one explicitely imports these components in the wsgi handler, some of them start to work somehow. Since i suspected the virtual environment, i dropped it, and manually copied all dependencies (babel, genshi, trac, ..) to one directory, and added this directory to system.path in the wsgi handler. I get exactly the same error. Since this setup is now independend from the environment, one can easily try it out on any other machine (windows or linux) running apache 2 and python 2.7. On my Windwos 7 machine, i got exactly the same problem. I zipped together the whole bundle, one can download it from http://www.xterity.de/tmp/trac-installation.zip . • Conditionally create symbolic link by filesize using find exec ubuntu 10.04

  I have an interesting problem. I'm trying to create symbolic links in a single folder, for all files in a directory which are larger than a specified size. For clarification, here is an example: /Files /Large_Files /LargeFile1_symlink /LargeFile2_symlink /Folder1 /file_a /file_b /Folder2 /LargeFile1 /Folder3 /LargeFile2 /file_c What I have so far to try to accomplish this is: find -size +102400 -exec ln -s $PWD/{} Large_Files/ \; However, this find produces ./LargeFile1 So my symlink command produces ln -s /Files/Folder2/./LargeFile1 Large_Files/ My question is, would it be possible to use the basename command to separate out only the filename so this command will work? Or does anybody have a suggestion on how to do this without writing a script, or give me an example on writing a script? I've never done scripting before, but I do know Java, but don't want to take the time to do all this in Java. Thank you for any help! Edit: adding tags

• ESXi 4 failed to find boot device

  I had exsi 3.5 running just fine, the upgrade to 4 failed ( i thought it would so everything is backed up ). but it did boot just could not import the data store So i did a fresh install of ESXi 4. Now it says failed to find boot device. Not sure why. i have wiped the disk, the controller is a adaptec 3405, it worked fine in 3.5 and when i upgrade to 4 it did boot. Now it just hangs at loading vfat. then the failed to find boot device. Any ideas?

• Compiling PHP 5.3.3 on Ubuntu 8.04: Could not find libevent

  When attempting to ./configure PHP 5.3.3 on Ubuntu 8.04, I get the error: checking for libevent >= 1.4.11 install prefix... configure: error: Could not find libevent >= 1.4.11 in /usr/local/ I tried installing the libevent-dev and libevent1 packages, but same error. I then removed the packages, downloaded and compiled libevent from source. Same error. Locate shows that libevent was installed to /usr/local/lib/libevent.so with all its friends in /usr/local/lib/. I tried configuring with the option: --with-libevent-dir=/usr/local/lib/ Basically the same error: checking for libevent >= 1.4.11 install prefix... configure: error: Could not find libevent >= 1.4.11 in /usr/local/lib/ Any suggestions??

  I am using Mountain Lion Developer Preview 2. I cannot find the "Create Network" menuitem in the WiFi icon menu in the menubar. It was there before when I was using Lion. It started missing since I upgraded to Mountain Lion Developer Preview 1. By the way, is there any other method to create an ad-hoc WiFi network on OS X? I tried to use Internet Sharing via WiFi, but other devices using the shared connection could not find the Mac in their local networks. I am using an early 2011 MacBook Pro 15'. Thanks.

  I am trying to process some data in Calc. One of the steps involve finding if a certain string is part of one of the column. I tried using FIND and SEARCH functions. Both behave in the same way and I am not getting correct results. E.g. Say I have following strings in Column A NY SF LON CAN US and am trying to put following formula in column C =SEARCH("NY",A2) The result is - cell C2 will have 1 (which is correct) but if the same formula is copied to other cells in column C - it gives me "#VALUE!" error and I am unable to find out why ? Any one has any ideas ? Thanks in advance TT

I would like it to search through all the lines in column A, to find something that has that name in it, then it should count the number of people, and come out with the number (in how many) the "middle price" I want it to take the price of B (depending on where it found it called headphones) and take the average price of it. In secured, as I would like it to count how many of them (from the number, or from the beginning) that have "secured" as "no" and "yes." I would like to use this on several things. For what is marked in pink: Where would I find the average price of all the goods, and what the name of the particular item is? Same with the highest and lowest price. How can I do this?

  I cannot find a Windows Explorer alternative that has full-tree view functionality like Path Finder on the Mac This is the type of view I am looking for (screenshot of Path Finder on Mac): By full-tree I mean: A tree view that includes files in addition to folders, and can be operated as its own pane-- not as a shared pane or attached pane which is characteristic of Q-Dir. Q-Dir and most others simply stick a folder tree pane on to a file list pane, which is not as useful (think Ruby on Rails application or anything with MVC-- I want to be able to pop open folders in the tree and have them stay open as I work between them).   Hi, I've been using Wim2Vhd to create native boot vhd files. (I'm using this to keep several development environments ready, I'm a developer, I know -- I need help ;-) Now the first boot always ends up in several minutes installing all of the windows updates... I' know I could avoid this if I had a massive list of qfe (.msu) packages that I could supply to the command line of Wim2Vhd. Where can I find all of the updates so I can download them. I have found this: http://www.megaleecher.net/Downloading_Microsoft_Windows_7_Offline_Updates but I'd like a more official source and I'd like an easier way to download them all. I'm a developer, so if I find the information (web service?) to get all the current packages, I'll build a tool to download them to a single location and generate a list of them for use with Wim2Vhd.

  I am obviously stupid... because I'm logged into this Windows 2003 Server box as administrator, yet when I go under Administrative Tools, I can't find "Terminal Services Manager". Terminal Services are installed... I'm using them right now... and I know that's where the manager is supposed to be... yet it is not what am I missing? why isn't it showing? where else can I find it?

  If you open (not save) a Word attachment in Windows Mail, then it will open the document up in Microsoft Word. This is saved somewhere, and you can edit the file and save it (i.e. no "save as" dialog appears). If you then close Word without explicitly saving the file somewhere, how do you then find the edited file? (Assuming that it can be found, and isn't automatically deleted). Windows Search does not find the file (presumably because it's in the folders that are excluded from search).

  I have a script log file that looks a bit like this: 2012-9-16 Did something Did 345 things Script time: 244 seconds 2012-9-17 Did yet something Did another thing 23 times Script time: 352 seconds 2012-9-18 Did something special for 34 seconds 51 times Did nothing at all Script time: 122 seconds I would like to find the largest value of N in the lines Script time: N seconds. However, I need to keep the context, so simply removing all lines that don't contain Script time in them is not a viable solution. Currently, I am grepping for lines with Script time, then sorting those to find the highest value, then going back to the original file and searching for that value. However, if there is a more straightforward way then I would love to know. This is on Vim 7.3 on a recent CentOS. I would prefer to remain in VIM if possible. Thanks.

• How can I edit files directly from find results

  Let's say, I want to replace one string with another. Normally I use TextMate, but today, I don't remember why, I decided to run the search in Sublime Text 2 (which I installed some time ago, but haven't used since). I was impressed with "Find Results" window, seems more useful that textmate's. Then I tried to edit text right inside that window and (I can swear on my macbook) it worked (I was able to commit those changes to git repo)! I thought then, "Wow, that's a really nice feature. Should I migrate from TM already?". Unfortunately, I wasn't able to reproduce this behaviour later. I can still edit text in "find results" window, but changes don't persist (that is, original files are not touched). Am I doing something wrong now, or was it caffeine-induced hallucination earlier in the day?

  I got an HP ProBook 4540s in December--When I first got it, every time I booted up, there was a rather large icon, almost like a Windows 7 gadget, to access HP Protect Tools, but I had too much going on to mess with it right away and kept clicking on something like "remind me next time I log on" and determined to get acquainted with it after the holidays--But at some point in time, that icon went away and now I can't locate it at all-- I'd like to try, and probably use, the fingerprint reader and explore whatever else is among the Protect Tools, but now I can't find them or any folder or .exe to acceess them-- Can anyone help me find them?-- Thanks so much

• cannot at all find sql instance (while installing an asp.net app on IIS)

  So I'm really not a DBA, I'm an app dev. I had to install my asp.net mvc3 app on my client's(a large company) IIS6 + Win2k3 machine, with absolutely no help from their sysadmins. The final problem now is SQL Server 2008 r2, after figuring out how to create a login from windows, my app and sqlcmd.exe always complains it cannot find a sql server instance!! I have all the sql services (in services.msc) running to Log On as the local system. I can login fine with SQL Server Management Studio with Windows Auth. I created my database, my asp.net app needs/uses windows auth. But for the love of God, whatever I do my app always complains it cannot find the instance. (Also tried running SQL CMD and it complains of the same thing too!) My data base connection string looks like this: Data Source=machinename\username;Initial Catalog=myDataStore;Integrated Security=True;MultipleActiveResultSets=True Machinename\user is the same thing that shows up on the sql server management studio login if I choose windows authentication right?

  A number of application servers started erroring out in my domain. Troubleshooting led me to a missconfiguration of NTP. I fixed the issue, but I don't know how the issue arose in the first place. The only errors I can find are System Error: 1097 Source: useenv System Error: 1058 Source: useenv System Error: 1030 Source: useenv System Error: 1000 Source: mmc How else can I find out why NTP started acting up on my domain? Is there any troubleshooting steps to diagnose why my DC started pulling from a random timeserver with the wrong time? EDIT: Current issue actually remains: the two 2003 DCs are not syncing with the PDC (a 2k8 box). w32tm /resync -- The computer did not resync because no time data was available.

  This weekend I found my PC was possibly infected by some virus or spyware. There is one "svchost.exe -k netsvcs" in my task manager, and it is running under my user name, rather than SYSTEM accounts. There is already another same process with same command line options under SYSTEM account. This user account svchost.exe consistently consumes 50% CPU (1 of 2 cores of my CPU). In Process Explorer, I can see it is started by explorer.exe, instead of services.exe. However, I failed to find its real service dll place in registry or disk. Does anyone know how to find this malicious program?

  I'm trying to find youtube video (just watched) in Firefox cache folder, but I cant find the folder. win xp sp3 Firefox 16.1 I tried C:\Documents and Settings\eDIN\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xp44aixq.default\Cache Also C:\Documents and Settings\eDIN\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\49mvq84u.default\Cache In this folder I found the png thumbnail of visited youtube page C:\Documents and Settings\eDIN\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\49mvq84u.default\thumbnails But, there is no video file. I also searched all files and folders arround (Default user, All users...etc). There is only one win user.

• Error in New-MailboxExportRequest - "Couldn't find the Enterprise Organizational Container" even though permissions seem right

  When disabling users I typically will be asked to retain a copy of their mailbox. I accomplish this by literally creating their mailbox in Outlook and then exporting to PST. Is there some way around having to do this just to save a mailbox? Edit: I've tried New-MailboxExportRequest but I keep getting the following after providing an alias: Supply values for the following parameters: FilePath: \\localhost\EXPORT_PST\myuser.pst Mailbox: myuser Couldn't find the Enterprise Organization container. <--- the error I've also tried supplying [email protected] as the mailbox as well. Edit 2: I had already seen the post at http://www.mikepfeiffer.net/2010/10/error-couldnt-find-the-enterprise-organization-container-when-creating-a-new-mailbox-export-request/ so I set the permissions as follows below: NTFS permissions Sharing permissions I am still getting that error. Final Solution In Exchange SP2, it does not warn you that you have not set role assignments, it just fails. So be sure to create a management role for "Mailbox Import Export" and add your user to the group, then restart PowerShell for this to take effect.
