Set form action dynamically in https-area

Hi, heres the problem explanation: Im on the domain https://www.example.com - theres an Order-Form with the Action https://www.example-otherdomain.com with an other SSL Certificate. On some conditions i set the form action to https://www.example.com so that it will be posted on our domain, but if the user uses a CreditCart it should get posted to https://www.example-otherdomain.com. So far so good. But in some rare conditions, users with CreditCards still posts their form to https://www.example.com. So my idea is: Is there some Same-Domain-Policy for Javascript/HTTPS to protect the user from phishing? It seems that to set the FormAction to the same domain works, but not to reset it to the external one (with JS). I cant reproduce this error, so im asking here if someone knows if theres such a problem. It doesnt matter which UserAgent the user has (there are post datas from FF, Chrome, Webkit, IE7/8) Thx!

Need a Javascript Expert, IE slow script

I have a jQuery plugin running on my site that is executing very, very slowly in IE7/8 to the point that it throws a slow script warning to the user. It doesn't happen in any other browser, and I can't figure out what might be going on. If you go to this page: http://dev.xeetic.org/projects You'll see that there are 16 results on each page, and each one has a "flip" behavior attached, using the jQuery plugin "quickflip." Attaching this behavior is very slow in IE. If I reduce the result set to 8 or 4 per page, it's faster, but still very bogged down. I have contacted the author of the script with no success. I am willing to pay for a solution, if I'm allowed to offer such a thing on this site. Very desperate. Please help!

How to suppress javascript errors for sites I'm not developing?

I like to keep javascript debugging enabled in my browser so when I'm developing my own code I can instantly see when I've made an error. Of course this means I see errors on apple.com, microsoft.com, stackoverflow.com, cnn.com, facebook.com. Its quite fun sometimes to see just how much awful code there is out there being run by major sites but sometimes it gets really annoyed. I've wondered for YEARS how to change this but never really got around to it. Its particularly annoying today and I'd really like to know of any solutions. The only solution I have is : use a different browser for everyday browsing. I'm hopin theres some quick and easy plugin someone can direct me to where I can toggle it on and off based upon the domain i'm on. Edit: I generally use IE7 for everyday browsing

Show SVG files on Sharepoint 2007

I'm building a WSS site which has to show SVG files stored on WSS. I'm trying to use <object> tag to show it and it doesn't show, however, if I use <embed> it works ok. Im'using IE8 and IE7 I've been reading and everyone tells IE prefers <Object> over <embed>, but in WSS it doesn't work this way. To display the file I'm using a web content editor webpart with this code: <object type="image/svg+xml" data="/samples/sample.svg" name="owMain" width="400" height="150"> </object> Any clue??

CSS sticky footer makes scroll bar unscrollable in IE 8

In IE8 the scrollbar appears but doesn't work, and I don't have any other way to move down. <noscript> not working in Opera 11?

I am testing my noscript tags which display content when javascript is disabled, this works in Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Camino, IE6, IE7, IE8, IE9, basically everything but Opera (I'm running version 11, not sure if its isolated to that version). In Opera 11 nothing is displayed... is the noscript tag not supported? and what is the alternative? Html + Css: How to create a auto-resizing rotated background?

Hi, image a complete black web page. On this web page is a 100% size white div that fills the whole page. I'd like to rotate this div by -7 degrees (or 7 degrees counter-clock wise). This will result in the black background being visible in triangles on the edges, just like you had placed a piece of paper on a desk and turned it a bit to the left. Actually this can be done with some css and it's working quite well (except for IE). The real problem now is: I'd like to have a normal, non-rotated div element on top of that to display the content in, so that only the background is rotated. Rotating a contained div counterwise doesn't work though, because through the two transformations the text will be blurry in all browsers. How can I realize that? Best would be a solution workiing in current Webkit browsers, FF3.5+ and IE7+. If only IE8+ I could live with that too.

mouse tracking on IE

Consider the following snippet: $(document).bind('mousemove', function(e) { $('#someDiv').css({left: e.pageX+'px', top: e.pageY+'px'}); }); This should make #someDiv follow the mouse (tooltip), when the css value for "position" is set to absolute. Works as expected, except when you Zoom IN or OUT in IE7 ( dind't try other version of IE). Then the e.pageX gets completely off. The more you zoom in (using your mousewheel + CTRL), the more off the positioning gets. I've tried to break jQuery's UI demos (sliders) and it seems not even jQuery guys have this figured out. Is there any genius out there who knows how to fix this nasty thing? Thanks in advance!

CSS not displayed depending on page

I have a friend that has a really strange issue with my website. When he clicks on http://www.copeo.fr/ the page displays fine but when he clicks on a link like www.copeo.fr/user/ the CSS is not applied even after a refresh. The raw html does display. I asked him to display the CSS that is hosted on amazon S3 hcopeoressources.s3.amazonaws.com/style/futurvert/style.css and it displays fine. The code validates on W3C validator so does the CSS. I am lost what could be the origin of the issue. Could it be its enterprise cache? configuration of IE7 on his machine? If it happens to someone else who could explain the issue to me, I am all hears. Thanks

Hi Guys, I am sending an AJAX request using POST over X-Domain for a widget we are producing for our website. The problem we are facing is that this is getting blocked. My question is - for "modern browsers" [Chrome, Safari, FF, IE8] - it is my understanding that setting "Access-Control" headers Access-Control-Allow-Origin: http://www.test.com Access-Control-Allow-Methods: POST, GET, OPTIONS Access-Control-Allow-Headers: * Access-Control-Max-Age: 1728000 Will allow these "POST" requests to work ? But for IE7 we need to implement some "custom" JSONP solution? Am I correct in this ?

jQuery $.post & $.append & IE6

I'm having a weird problem with jQuery and IE6. Script works on IE7+ and with all other browsers I have tried it. I can't post the full script, but what it does is this: $.post("file.php",{'foo':'bar'},function(data){ $('#target').append(data) }) When I run the code in IE6, #target just shows ? and a white char with a hole in the middle. I have no idea what this second char is. My initial thought was that this was some sort of content-type problem because the file.php just echoes answer without any header information. I added Content-type: text/html with header() but didn't help. Any suggestions?

I was trying to create a checked radiobutton by using following code in IE7. But it doesn't work. var x = document.createElement(""); var spn=document.createElement("span"); spn.appendChild(x); x.checked=true; document.body.appendChild(spn); I found that I could put x.checked=true after appendChild statement to make it work. I also noticed that when I change "radio" to "checkbox", it can be checked without changing the order of statements. I am really confused by these facts. Am I doing something wrong in the above code?

Links in rounded boxes? In ALL browsers (yep included IE8)

I tried maaaany script but every time I get stuck in something bad. My goal is to create rounded boxes for links. You can see an example of I'm talking about here in the read more link (effects not necessary). Very common I know, but I want to make it work in eeeevery browsers at least safari, FF, chrome and most important IE7+ (IE6 not necessary...). The script that took me closest to the solution is Cornerz but I can't fix a very bad issue on IE8. Does anybody knows a way to get rid of this or to achieve my goal? jquery .attr('alt','logo').css('display','none') not working !!!

I have the three following lines and the first two line gets all the images on the document and hides all, but then when I add the third line shows all the images. What I need its to hide only the images with the attribute alt=minimize and alt=maximize but for some reason hides all the images. $('img').attr('alt', 'minimize').css("display","none"); $('img').attr('alt', 'maximize').css("display","none"); $('img').attr('alt', 'logo').css("display","inline"); I am using IE7, but it should be compatible with IE6 and IE8. Here's the sample code: var d = new Date("2010-06-09T19:20:30+01:00"); document.write(d); On FF3.6 this will give you: Wed Jun 09 2010 14:20:30 GMT-0400 (EST) Other browers tested; Chrome 5, Safari 4, IE7 give: Invalid Date I know there is limited to no support for ISO8601 dates, but does anyone know what and/or where the difference is in FF3.6 that allows this to work? My thought is that FF is just stripping out what it doesn't understand while the others are not. Has anyone else seen this and/or getting different results from the test script?

JSON.stringify() supported by IE 8?

I need to use: JSON.stringify() which should be supported by chrome, safari, and FF (I think). I think IE8 also has support for the JSON object. I think IE7 and 6 do not, so I'm doing this:  so, I think this will import the external javascript only if IE6 & 7. I looked at the url where the script is hosted, they are including only if the IE version is less than 9: http://code.google.com/p/html5shiv/  so should I be including this for IE 8 too? IE div width + scrollbar

I have a modal UI in my web app that necessitates a fixed layout design. After much fussing, I decided absolutely positioned child elements was the way to go. However, I have one div that conditionally requires a vertical scrollbar (if there's too much content). When this scrollbar is added, the width of the div seems to vary between IE 7 and IE 8. IE8 standards mode: IE7 standards mode: I haven't even tested for IE 6, but I'm sure it's even funkier. What's the simplest, least painful way to address this to arrive at a consistent UI in all major browsers?

Getting HTMLUnknownElement with jQuery.find() and an XML Document

I'm attempting to load up an XML document (specifically an RSS feed) via an Ajax request, parse it, and insert some information based on said feed into my page. The code works fine in Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and Safari, but not IE7. Go figure. After doing some initial debugging, I've found that the XML string is being retrieved via the request, and the specific node type I'm getting when trying to parse nodes out of the document is HTMLUnknownElement. Here's the relevant code: $.get('feed.php', function(oXmlDoc) { var titles = $(oXmlDoc).find('title'); var dates = $(oXmlDoc).find('pubDate'); for(var i = 0; i < 5; i++) { parseNodes(titles[i].firstChild.nodeValue, dates[i].firstChild.nodeValue)); } }); The parseNodes function is never actually being hit because IE cannot access firstChild and, consequently, nodeValue. Thanks in advance for any ideas and/or suggestions on how to address this.

AJAX Problem - No response text in FireFox, but ok in IE

Hi, I am making a simple AJAX call to an external site. It works ok in IE, but in Firefox, not response text is returned. I think it might have something to do with the response being "chunked", but I'm not sure. Any ideas?
