• jQuery Drag And Drop Using Live Events

  Hello. I have an application with a long list that changes frequently, and I need this the items of this list to be draggable. I've been using the jQuery UI draggable plugin, but it is slow to add to 400+ list items, and has to be re-added every time new list items are added. Does anyone know of a plugin similar to the jQuery UI draggable plugin that uses jQuery 1.3's .live() events? This would solve both problems. Thanks!

  I'm trying to load an external JavaScript using jQuery's getScript(), like this: $.getScript("http://api.recaptcha.net/js/recaptcha_ajax.js", function(data) { window.alert(data); }); but as the alert window shows, the data variable in the callback function is undefined, unlike promised in http://docs.jquery.com/Ajax/jQuery.getScript#urlcallback. • Problem with saving new elements in my xml at right level

  I have a xml file that looks like this: <DataTalk> <Posts> <TalkPost> <PostType>dialog</PostType> <User>ABBE</User> <Customer>HRM - Heroma</Customer> <PostedDate>0001-01-01T00:00:00</PostedDate> <Message>TEST</Message> </TalkPost> </Posts> </DataTalk> When I now want to save new elements, I do: document.root.add((new XElement("TalkPost", new XElement("PostType", newDialog.PostType), new XElement("User", newDialog.User), new XElement("Customer", newDialog.Customer), new XElement("PostedDate", newDialog.PostDate), new XElement("Message", newDialog.Message))); The problem is now that it gets saved at the wrong hierarchal level. They all gets saved under <datatalk> and not under <posts> that I wan't to. How should I do to save the new elements under the <posts> hierarchically

• Save all xml nodes to db without looping through it

  I have this xml: <Path> <Record> <ID>6534808</ID> <Distance>1.05553036073736</Distance> </Record> <Record> <ID>6542471</ID> <Distance>1.05553036073736</Distance> </Record> ... and about more 500 nodes </Path> And I'm using the code below to get all "Record" nodes: XmlNodeList paths = xDoc.SelectNodes("//Record"); And, after that, I save each record to database. But, the problem is that I'm using a foreach to loop through this nodes and the count of this nodes may be more than 500, sometimes it gets up to 1000 "Records" node. And this gets too long... Is there a way to save all of these nodes without looping through it? Thanks!!

  I've to read a big XML file with a lot of information. Afterwards I extract the needed information (~20 Points(columns) / ~80 relevant Data (rows, some of them with subdatasets) and write them out in a Excel File. My Question is how to handle the extraction (of unused Data) part, should I copy the whole file and delete the unused parts, and then write it to excel or is it a good approach to create Objects for each column? should I write the whole xml to excel and start to delete rows in excel? What would be performant and a acceptable solution?

• Is it possible to alternate between two types in an XML Schema

  I'm wondering if I am missing something obvious. I have a list of numbers, possibly including ranges (think of the print page option of a print dialog). Ideally I'd like to have the final XML output look like this, with page and pageRange in an order. <pages> <page> 1</page> <pageRange><start>3</start><end>6</end></pageRange> <page> 34</page> </pages> What would I have to put into a schema to allow this? From what I saw: Sequence with multiple page and page Range allowed doesn't permit alternation. Choice only allows one or the other. I tried messing with all, but I wasn't getting it to validate properly. My short term solution is to have a sequence of ranges, and to force single numbers into the range, but it seems potentially cumbersome. So am I missing something?

  I'm making a (conceptual) system to simulate any kind of sports match (like soccer,basketball,etc) with actions (for example pass,pass,out,pass,score) so it will be like a real report. The main statistics (play time, number of actions etc.) I'm saving to a MySQL database, but the report itself, can contain more than 1000 actions per match. To avoid millions of records in my database I'm thinking of saving the detailled report in a SQLite database or a XML file. For every match played, a file will be created. When a user request the match details, I read the file for details. What is the best choice for this purpose? SQLite or XML?

Basically, I want the autocomplete results to drop down and I want people to be able to click on them and be navigated to a different page. I have the following files referenced in the head section. jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.css jquery-1.3.2.min.js jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.min.js Theme:smoothness UI Version: 1.7.2 for jQuery 1.3.2 I have nothing else going on in the page but still get the error 'error updating JScript Intellisense. I am using VS2008 SP1. Any ideas? TIA ps: VS shows intellisense if i refer to 1.4.1.js & 1.4.1-vsdoc.js

  I am using jQuery and my js file thats calling a jquery function resides in totally different directory than jQuery is in. I need to call this function reloadPage like this from js file reloadPage({param1:'First Parameter', param2:ID}); but it gives me an error Line: 341 Error: Object doesn't support this property or method Line 341 is reloadPage({param1:'First Parameter', param2:ID});. What can I do to run this function from outside the directory? I tried parent.reloadPage({param1:'First Parameter', param2:ID}); But that didnt work either.

  It just started experimenting with the ajax.net ToolkitScirptManager and it works fine but then I realized that it is breaking my ajax calls I'm doing using the jQuery library. I'm guessing that it is the issue with the $ symbol, does anyone have anythoughts on how to use both libraries. I don't want to use jquery's noconflict mode because we use other jquery plugins that I'm afraid won't work. Any thoughts?

For office 365, the prefered location to add jQuery files is the "Site Asserts" library.Deployment Best PracticesThey are only as good as the context it’s being referenced.  In other words, take into account your world before applying it.Script your deployment options.  Folder in SPD. Use the file system.  Make external references.  The JQuery library is on the Microsoft Ajax Content Delivery Network. You may even choose to publish to and from the document library.   I am using both JQuery UI Dialog and JQuery UI autocomplete both have the same erroneous behavior when they popup, the position is always 0,0! I have tried some different position arguments when popping up the dialog but non seems to help. Any clues? Is this a bug in the position calculation in JQuery? Or is this some css bug? Versions are 1.4.2 and 1.8.0
