  I'm having a few issues with my dedicated Windows server that has a Plesk panel: 1.) I can't send e-mail via PHP's mail() function, it always returns the following error: SMTP server response: 550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable or not local Which setting should I alter in order to enable sending mail? 2.) The exec() and passthru() PHP functions don't work; their outputs are blank even when I try to run simple commands such as dir. Is there an option that I can toggle in the control panel to enable this functionality?

  I have a small PHP/MySQL project in the works and I'm looking for somewhere to host it. My criteria are: Ability to run PHP/MySQL (either natively, or contains the ability to install). Ability to manipulate the web server, so I can make pretty URLs. Not spammy (if you've ever looked for hosting, you know what I mean). Semi-professional - no ridiculous downtime or long response time. I obviously don't need anything spectacular (I'm not aiming to be the next Facebook) but something that doesn't seem cheap. Reasonably priced - obviously this is a side project for fun so I'm not planning on making or dispensing any sort of "serious" revenue.

• Handle php out of memory error

  I have a Drupal based web site on a relative small vserver (512MB RAM). Recently the website begins to return php out of memory messages like this: Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 17039360) (tried to allocate 77824 bytes) in /home/... All php.ini memory limit parameters are set to off (-1). Propably the website has gained of complexity, content, etc. But I cannot interpret fine that message: Does that mean that the whole request has allocated 17MB(?) right now and cannot get 7MB(?) more from the OS. Has the web server spend all memory or has the OS no more memory to allocate ? I'm not shure if the memory overhead is coming from the web server or another service, because when I get the out-of-memoy message I can't get into the server with ssh. After a while all runs fine again.

  The situation: We are about to roll out what is essentially a logging service. As we are rather PHP heavy, the current implementation use it. We will have about 200 computers (most on the same network) that will each send, via HTTP POST, around 5000 requests/day. With each request containing about 300 bytes of data. The receiving end is hosted at Amazon and is a very simple PHP form with some simple validation that puts everything in a database. Now, I've recently been introduced to Node.js and I'm curious as to if it would be a good fit for the backend here. Granted I could easily build something to test this. I want there to be a setting which will allow this for the pages that need it and will load ACE editor instead of a different wysiwyg editor. The challenge here is that on the pages which I do not explicitly tell it there will be code, I want to reject any inputs that code. • Can't connect Alienware M11x wireless to internet thru families router

  Morning All, Have an Alienware M11x loaded with Win 7 Premium with the Dell half card wifi. Also have a Netgear and Belkin USB external adapters (b/g and N to include dual radios. No joy either. Families Internet is served thru Charter and they use a Motorola Router. No matter if we reset the router, I cannot connect to the Net but can talk to the router. BTW... my brother only uses WEP as a number of connected items are old and my folks are not in a high threat area for attacks. Frustrated, as I know what I'm doing but this really has me stumped. • PHP - Resize an image and fill gaps of proportions with a color

  I am uploading logos to my system, and they need to fix in a 60x60 pixel box. I have all the code to resize it proportionately, and that's not a problem. My 454x292px image becomes 60x38. The thing is, I need the picture to be 60x60, meaning I want to pad the top and bottom with white each (I can fill the rectangle with the color). The theory is I create a white rectangle, 60x60, then I copy the image and resize it to 60x38 and put it in my white rectangle, starting 11px from the top (which adds up to the 22px of total padding that I need. I would post my code but it's decently long, though I can if requested. Does anyone know how to do this or can you point me to code/tutorial that does this?

So the owner needs a system to enable disable the site. Let me give an example... owner.com will have an admin panel where he can either disable or enable the client.com. when he disables the client.com should display a custom message instead of loading the files. client.com is written i a way that i will process requests from owner.com and also the other way round. so, here i want a list of the concepts with which we can implement the ownership and control over client.com any suggestions, links, references, answers will be helpful.
