  A while back, I came across a random password generator for the command line that displayed a grid of "memorable" passwords. Output was something like this: adam@host:~$ CantRememberThisCommand lkajsdf aksjdfl kqwrupo qwerpoi qwerklw zxlkelq The idea was that you could run this utility while someone was looking over your shoulder, and still pick a password with some level of secrecy due to the large number of choices. I cannot remember what this utility was called. Oh interwebs, can you help?

• iPhone4: Keep playing songs after song selected from Search iPhone screen ends?

  When I first got my iPhone 4, if I selected a song from the "search iPhone" screen (when you hit home twice), iTunes would start playing a playlist of all my songs, starting with the selected one. I recently updated it to 4.2.1 (I don't remember exactly what I was at before). Now, when I select a song from the "Search iPhone" screen, iTunes starts playing a playlist containing only that song. Is there a way I can get the old behavior back?

• Speed-up large number of files deletion on NTFS volumes

  Every now and then I need to delete a folder containing something like 500k files from an NTFS volume. I do this with Windows Explorer. Since NTFS journals all the service data changes each deletion is carried out serially and so the whole 500k files deletion takes ages. I remember when I did the same in FAT32 it ran uncomparably faster. Is there any way to speed up deletion of large number of files on NTFS volumes?

• iTunes video black screen until select computer output

  I don't remember this happening before, but now whenever I play any video in iTunes (podcast video, movie, TV show, iTunes extras stuff but the menus work) it just shows a black screen with the sound playing. If I stop it, select "Computer" in the little output control on the iTunes video control panel that pops up, then play again, it works fine. What the heck? Tried rebooting, updating, with and without external monitor. OSX 10.6.6

  In Ubuntu, when we right-click a icon and use "open with", there is an option to remember that application for that file's type. For some reason, my system is no more memorizing the application (I think it was aftare some update). And, even when I have already used the "open with" command, the application is not showing in the "open with" list, so I have, everytime, to go to "open with"-"Other Application". Any hint to solve this?

  I want to keep icons for shortcuts in thumbnail view. eg: my pics folder is in thumbnail, but I want to easily see my familiar icons for shortcuts to various outside folders I drag the pics into, amongst the hundreds of pics and subfolders within my pics (which display the same as shortcuts at a glance) I had it like this on my last machine but I can't remember what I had to do.   As a general rule of thumb, if there are two similar GPUs from the same line (i.e. an NVIDIA GTX 260 vs a NVIDIA GTX 280), will the less powerful or more powerful GPU run hotter? This is assuming all other factors stay the same - hardware configuration, cooling setup, ingame settings, etc. Or does this depend entirely upon the GPU itself? I do remember reading that the GTX 280 in this example was terribly inefficient with power and cooling.

• Can you disable the Ctrl-S (XOFF) keystroke in Putty?

  I do a lot of ssh-ing, and periodically I hit Ctrl+S, which naturally sends an XOFF, and causes all kinds of problems (not to mention it takes a while for me to figure out what happened, then another while to remember that I need to press Ctrl+Q to recover. I would much rather instruct Putty to never ever let me type XOFF. Any ideas?

  Is it possible to setup a mail server on a Linux machine without root permissions? I want to be able to create two aliases for a given mail ID. But if I remember correctly, it is no possible to do this without root privileges because I need to edit the configuration file and then restart the mail server.
