    We have a page where a user can sign a pledge to recycle by clicking a pledge button. A script writes it to a text file which updates the number on the page. In the past 2 days there have been 185 pledges signed but only 63 page views in GA. I trust that they are unique pledges and not just people adding multiple fake names and entering it. Is there anyway to get a better report from Google Analytics?

    I have built a testing service and I wonder if I should be concerned that search engines will consider similar titles as duplicates. For example: Some URLs title can be differed from others by only one word such as "Senior" and "Junior" Title A: C++ Online Test for Juniors Title B: C++ Online Test for Seniors Another example is with the "+" sign: Title A: C Standard Library Online Test for Seniors Title B: C++ Standard Library Online Test for Seniors Should I assume search engines will understand there is a difference in the titles?   • Problem connecting to certain wifi networks

    I'm using lenovo u300s (it has Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030 card), and I can connect to wireless network at home with no problem, but I can not connect to any networks at my university. I'm not sure if it's the case but most of university networks are open and you need to sign up your username as you enter browser. There is also an eudoroam network, but I can not connect to it either. Any suggestions? Yes I have the latest ubuntu version.

  • puppetca never returns anything

    Hi: I'm trying to configure Puppet on Ubuntu, and strangely I am never able to generate a certificate because my server never shows any pending certificate requests. Put differently, on the server I am running puppetmasterd and on the client I am able to connect to the server, but the client continues printing notice: Did not receive certificate warning: peer certificate won't be verified in this SSL session and yet the server never sees the request mrisher@lab2$ puppetca --list [nothing shows up] mrisher@lab2$ puppetca --sign clientname.domain.com clientname.domain.com err: Could not call sign: Could not find certificate request for clientname.domain.com Edit: There was a suggestion that autosign was happening, but that does not seem to be it. There is no autosign.conf file, and when I run puppetmasterd --no-daemonize -d -v I receive the following output: info: Could not find certificate for 'clientname.domain.com' every time the client says notice: Did not receive certificate I checked the certs on the server and there don't seem to be any: mrisher@lab2:~$ puppetca --list --all mrisher@lab2:~$ sudo puppetca --list --all + lab2.domain.com // this is the server (master) mrisher@lab2:~$ sudo puppetca --list [blank line] mrisher@lab2:~$ Note: This is mostly running the default install from Ubuntu, if that gives any leads.   • Docs for OpenSSH CA-based certificate based authentication

    OpenSSH 5.4 added a new method for certificate authentication (changes). * Add support for certificate authentication of users and hosts using a new, minimal OpenSSH certificate format (not X.509). Certificates contain a public key, identity information and some validity constraints and are signed with a standard SSH public key using ssh-keygen(1). CA keys may be marked as trusted in authorized_keys or via a TrustedUserCAKeys option in sshd_config(5) (for user authentication), or in known_hosts (for host authentication). Documentation for certificate support may be found in ssh-keygen(1), sshd(8) and ssh(1) and a description of the protocol extensions in PROTOCOL.certkeys. Is there any guides or documentation beyond what is mentioned in the ssh-keygen man-page? The man page covers how to generate certificate and use them, but it doesn't really seem to provide much information about the certificate authority setup. For example, can I sign the keys with an intermediate CA, and have the server trust the parent CA? This comment about the new feature seems to mean that I could setup my servers to trust the CA, then setup a method to sign keys, and then users would not have to publish their individual keys on the server. This also seems to support key expiration, which is great since getting rid of old/invalid keys is more difficult then it should be. But I am hoping to find some more documentation about describe the total configuration CA, SSH server, and SSH client settings needed to make this work.
