  • Fast, lightweight XML parser

    - by joe90
I have a specific format XML document that I will get pushed. This document will always be the same type so it's very strict. I need to parse this so that I can convert it into JSON (well, a slightly bastardized version so someone else can use it with DOJO). My question is, shall I use a very fast lightweight (no need for SAX, etc.) XML parser (any ideas?) or write my own, basically converting into a StringBuffer and spinning through the array? Basically, under the covers I assume all HTML parsers will spin thru the string (or memory buffer) and parse, producing output on the way through. Thanks //edit Thanks for the responses so far :) The xml will be between 3/4 lines to about 50 max (at the extreme)..

  • Why am I getting a segmentation fault when I use binmode with threads in Perl?

    - by jAndy
Hi Folks, this call my $th = threads->create(\&print, "Hello thread World!\n"); $th->join(); works fine. But as soon as I add binmode(STDOUT, ":encoding(ISO-8859-1)"); to my script file, I get an error like "segmentation fault", "access denied". What is wrong to define an encoding type when trying to call a perl thread? Example: use strict; use warnings; use threads; binmode(STDOUT, ":encoding(ISO-8859-1)"); my $th = threads->create(\&print, "Hello thread World!\n"); $th->join(); sub print { print @_; } This code does not work for me. Kind Regards --Andy

    - by dexter
i have created a file argument.pl which takes several arguments first of which should be in form of a year example of argument : 2010 23 type here 2010 is a year my code does something like: use strict; use warning use Date::Calc qw(:all); my ($startyear, $startmonth, $startday) = Today(); my $weekofyear = (Week_of_Year ($startyear,$startmonth,$startday))[0]; my $Year = $startyear; ... ... if ($ARGV[0]) { $Year = $ARGV[0]; } here this code fill $Year with "current year" if if $ARGV[0] is null or doesn't exists now here instead of if ($ARGV[0]) is it possible to check that the value in $ARGV[0] is a valid year (like 2010, 1976,1999 etc.)

  • Expression Web 4 - Master Page Error

    - by Eric J.
I created an ASP.Net Web Application in VS 2010. That in turn creates an example Site.Master, Default.aspx, and several other example files. I then opened Default.aspx in Expression Web 4 and get the error message The Master Page file 'Site.Master' cannot be loaded. Default.aspx can still be displayed fine in VS 2010. • Opacity in CSS, some doubts

  • Why this doesn't work: [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver]Access denied for user

    - by bvandrunen
So I know that there is a very similar question to this all over the web as well as stack overflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2539961/error-access-denied-for-user-mysql-server but my question I think is different. So I have set up a linked server and it works...I have the correct permissions set up for my IP's that I am using. However the problem arises when our user "webuser@correctIP" tries to access it. Therefore, any user using window authentication is allowed to access it and works great...but any that are not using windows authentication are blocked. However, I have tried all the common solutions such as setting up a strict password, changing security settings in Microsoft SQL Server etc. Nothing is working. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. FYI: I am using this from Microsoft SQL Server 2008 - mysql (through myphpadmin)

  • Store web content in XML using wiki markup

    - by Mike
Does anyone have an XML style sheet that'll convert wiki-like markup to HTML? Or is that a bad idea? I only found one style sheet that'll convert HTML to wiki-like markup, view-source:http://mozile.mozdev.org/0.8/demos/html2wiki.xsl . Or is this a bad idea? Basically, instead of following strict rules with my XML tags to format my content, I thought it'd be best to have something like this: <content> \## This is my heading </content> That way I'm free to display my content however I feel without having to modify my style sheet. Any ideas?

  • Anchor tags and target behaviour? - HTML

    - by RadiantHex
Hi folks, I must say that despite this being a newb question, I don't think I have totally mastered HTML a tags. Whenever I want to open a link in a new tab I add target="_blank", works fine in chrome and firefox. Not in IE7-8. I think the behaviour might have something to do with the DOCTYPE, but I'm not entirely sure. I'm currently using HTML 4.01 Strict. Right now what I am trying to understand is: How to open links in new tabs in IE7-8 How to open links within small windows Help would be very much appreciated! :)

  • Fibonacci sequence subroutine returning one digit too high...PERL

However, it's one too high. Does this have something to do with the recursion? Thanks.

  • How do I do automatic data serialization of data objects in Haskell

    - by Adam Gent
One of the huge benefits in languages that have some sort of reflection/introspecition is that objects can be automatically constructed from a variety of sources. For example in Java I can use the same objects for persisting to a db (with Hibernate) serializing to XML (with JAXB) or serializing to JSON (json-lib). You can do the same in Ruby and Python also usually following some simple rules for properties or annotations for Java. Thus I don't need lots "Domain Transfer Objects". I can concentrate on the domain I am working in. It seems in very strict FP like Haskell and Ocaml this is not possible. Particularly Haskell. The only thing I have seen is doing some sort of preprocessing or meta-programming (ocaml). Is it just accepted that you have to do all the transformations from the bottom upwards? In other words you have to do lot of boring work to turn a data type in haskell into JSON/XML/DB Row object and back again into a data object.

  • Multiple CSS Classes: Properties Overlapping based on the order defined.

    - by Jian Lin
Is there a rule in CSS that determines the cascading order when multiple classes are defined on an element? (class="one two" vs class="two one") Right now, there seems to be no such effect. Example: both divs are orange in color on Firefox <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <html> <head> <style> .one { border: 6px dashed green } .two { border: 6px dashed orange } </style> </head> <body> <div class="one two"> hello world </div> <div class="two one"> hello world </div>

  • How do I get the output of Win32::Process command in Perl?

    - by rockyurock
    I am using use Win32::Process for my application run as below. It runs fine, but I did not get any way to get the output to a .txt file. I used NORMAL_PRIORITY_CLASS rather than CREATE_NEW_CONSOLE to get the output on the same terminal itself, but I don't know how to redirect it to a txt file. /rocky #!/usr/bin/perl use strict; use warnings; use Win32::Process; Win32::Process::Create(my $ProcessObj, "iperf.exe", "iperf.exe -u -s -p 5001", 0, NORMAL_PRIORITY_CLASS, ".") || die ErrorReport(); my @command_output; push @command_output,$ProcessObj; open FILE, ">zz.txt" or die $!; print FILE @command_output; close FILE; sleep 10; $ProcessObj->Kill(0); sub ErrorReport{ print Win32::FormatMessage( Win32::GetLastError() ); }

  • I'm starting a new project in Perl, how should I begin?

    - by Brad Gilbert
The question is about how to start a new Perl project. How should I create the skeleton of the Project? What should the directory layout look like? How do I start testing? What build system should I use? Should I even use a build system? I have been writing Perl programs for a while now. I only started to run tests on my recent programs. I know Perl the language fairly well, now it is time to learn the way to build full blown Perl projects. I already add these to the beginning of every Perl file: use strict; use warnings; # and occasionally use autodie; I have also used Moose.

  • Does the order I declare pointers really matter in C? getcwd() problem...

    - by chucknelson
On a Solaris 5.8 machine, I have the following code: [non-working code] char *buf; char *dir; size_t psize; psize = (size_t) 1024; dir = getcwd(buf, psize); On this unix machine, the above does not work and I get a segmentation fault when trying to run the program. It only works if I declare dir before buf: [working code] char *dir; char *buf; ... dir = getcwd(buf, psize); When using another flavor of Unix, such as Mac OS X, I don't get any of these what seem to be very strict rules on how to write the code. Can anyone explain what's going on with the above example? Thanks!

  • How to retrieve a bigint from a database and place it into an Int64 in SSIS

    - by b0fh
I ran into this problem a couple years back and am hoping there has been a fix and I just don't know about it. I am using an 'Execute SQL Task' in the Control Flow of an SSIS package to retrieve a 'bigint' ID value. The task is supposed to place this in an Int64 SSIS variable but I getting the error: "The type of the value being assigned to variable "User::AuditID" differs from the current variable type. Variables may not change type during execution. Variable types are strict, except for variables of type Object." When I brought this to MS' attention a couple years back they stated that I had to 'work around' this by placing the bigint into an SSIS object variable and then converting the value to Int64 as needed. Does anyone know if this has been fixed or do I still have to 'work around' this mess? edit: Server Stats Product: Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Edition Operating System: Microsoft Windows NT 5.2 (3790) Platform: NT INTEL X86 Version: 9.00.1399.06

  • How to get rid of this w3 validation error?

    - by Pandiya Chendur
I developed a web page and now i am validating it with w3c HTML4.0... I got one error it says Error Line 30, Column 57: there is no attribute "DATA-FLEXMENU" href="about.php" class="mainlink" data-flexmenu="flexmenu1">About Us</a></div> You have used the attribute named above in your document, but the document type you are using does not support that attribute for this element. This error is often caused by incorrect use of the "Strict" document type with a document that uses frames (e.g. you must use the "Transitional" document type to get the "target" attribute), or by using vendor proprietary extensions such as "marginheight" (this is usually fixed by using CSS to achieve the desired effect instead). Any ways of getting rid of this error .... Any suggestion...
