Rewriting usort function because of fatal error (PHP bug)

The two following usort functions throw fatal error Base lambda function for closure not found in our productive environment (PHP 5.4). This seems to be a known PHP bug that should be fixed by now (https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=52144), but it still occurs for us. Anyway, we unfortunately don't have time to figure out what's wrong with our PHP configurations etc. We would like to rewrite these two functions without the use of anonymous functions, so that the error doesn't occur anymore. Ordering of a multidimensional array ($array) by value of key "position": usort($array, function($a, $b) { return $a['position'] - $b['position']; }); Ordering of a multidimensional array ($array) according to the order of a second array ($position_order): usort($array, function($a, $b) use($position_order) { return (isset($position_order[$a['ftid']]) ? ($position_order[$a['ftid']] - $position_order[$b['ftid']]) : 1); }); Especially the latter causes some headache, as we don't know how to pass the "outside" array $position_order.

Function calls in virtual machine killing performance

I wrote a virtual machine in C, which has a call table populated by pointers to functions that provide the functionality of the VM's opcodes. When the virtual machine is run, it first interprets a program, creating an array of indexes corresponding to the appropriate function in the call table for the opcode provided. It then loops through the array, calling each function until it reaches the end. Each instruction is extremely small, typically one line. Perfect for inlining. The problem is that the compiler doesn't know when any of the virtual machine's instructions are going to be called, as it's decided at runtime, so it can't inline them. The overhead of function calls and argument passing is killing the performance of my VM. Any ideas on how to get around this?

JavaScript using toString on a Function object to read text content

Calling toString() on the function below returns different strings across browsers. I understand this is because ECMA-262 15.3.4.2 leaves wiggle room for each vendor. Chrome returns the comments in addition to all syntax. Sadly Firefox 3.6 omits the comments. Based on Firefox's behavior I haven't tested IE, Opera, or Safari. function foo() { /* comment */ var bar = true; } Specifically, I am attempting to embed meta data within a specially formatted comment block within a function. Later the return value of the functions toString() method would be parsed and values returned as an object. I've been unable to locate compatibility tables or alternatives to toString(). Does the community have any ideas? Btw, pre-processing JS files isn't an option. :( Thanks a lot. :)

My problem is, i have a table User and Table Group (this table use to authorization for user - it mean when user belong to a group like admin, they can login into admincp and other user belong to group member, they just only read and write and can not login into admincp) each user maybe belong to many groups and each group has been contain many users and they have relationship are many to many I use hibernate for persistence storage. and struts 2 to handle business logic. When i want to implement login action from Struts2 how can i get value of group member belong to ? to compare with value i want to know? Javascript/jQuery: Varying parameters on a custom function

I'm writing a plugin that will allow parameters to 'set it up.' But I predict the user won't always want to set up every aspect of the function. function This_Function(a,b,c,d); For instance, maybe they'll only want to set up a and c, but not b and d (they'll just prefer to leave those as defaults). How do I write the function (or the parameters for that matter) so that the user can customize which functions they would prefer to pass? I have a feeling it involves parsing input, but I've seen many other functions with this capability. Thanks in advance for the help.

I'd like to write a MySQL stored function that returns multiple rows of data. Is this possible? It seems to be locked at 1 row -- can't even return 0 rows. Function naming: sendCharacter or receiveCharacter?

I'm trying to name a function that runs when a character is received by the object. For the caller, it should be named sendCharacter, so that it can call: object->sendCharacter( character ) ; That looks nice for the caller.. but for the receiver, it implements a method /// Called when this object is do something /// with a character /// from the caller void sendCharacter( char c ) ; So for the recipient class, it looks like this method will actually send a character out, not receive one. So then, I could call the function receiveCharacter /// Called when this object is do something /// with a character /// from the caller void receiveCharacter( char c ) ; But now the caller does this: object->receiveCharacter( character ) ; Which just looks odd. How can I better name this function?

Add to a table with javascript

I have a table which looks like this: <table id='t'> <thead> .... </thead> <tbody id='t_tbody'> </tbody> </table> thead is filled with content tbody is empty I want to use javascript to add this (for example) to t_tbody: <tr> <td>Name</td> <td>Points</td> <td>Information</td> </tr> How can I do this? I need a function which adds the above to t_tbody. Note that simply using document.getElementById('t_tbody').innerHtml+="<tr>...</tr>" works fine in FF, but not in IE. Also note that I need to use raw javascript (ie. no frameworks) for this project, as I am finishing a project which has already been mostly completed using raw javascript.

I have millions of these rows so I need to find the next class in the row. Javascript - Function call will not enter function body

I have a function acting as a constructor that, when called, gets as far as the function definition in the debugger, but never to the function body. Is there a common reason this may happen that I am overlooking? Example code below: myconstructor.js function MyConstructor(optionalParam) { //this breakpoint gets hit var newobj = {}; //breakpoint never hit //code to check for null parameter //other code }; main.js var myConstructor = new MyConstructor(); There must be something I have overlooked, but I can't see what that is. Is there anyway to show a hidden div in the last row of a html table

i have an html table. here is a simplified version: <table> <tr> <td><div style="display: none;" class="remove0">Remove Me</div></td> </tr> <tr> <td><div style="display: none;" class="remove1">Remove Me</div></td> </tr> <tr> <td><div class="remove2">Remove Me</div></td> </tr> </table> i have javascript that clicks on Remove Me in the last row and it deletes the html row using: $(this).parents("tr:first").remove(); the issue is that when i remove this last row, i also want the "Remove Me" text to now show up on the second row (which is now the new last row). how would i show this div so that it would dynamically show the "remove me" from the new last row?

[C++] Start a thread using a method pointer

Hi ! I'm trying to develop a thread abstraction (POSIX thread and thread from the Windows API), and I would very much like it to be able to start them with a method pointer, and not a function pointer. What I would like to do is an abstraction of thread being a class with a pure virtual method "runThread", which would be implanted in the future threaded class. I don't know yet about the Windows thread, but to start a POSIX thread, you need a function pointer, and not a method pointer. And I can't manage to find a way to associate a method with an instance so it could work as a function. I probably just can't find the keywords (and I've been searching a lot), I think it's pretty much what Boost::Bind() does, so it must exist. Can you help me ?

Call inner function of jQuery-Plugin-function?

Hello Everyone, I've written an jQuery-Plugin, which I want to use as Object. So I declared some functions within the plugin, which I want to call from any other location, just like an object with methods. Is that even possible? To keep it simple: (function( $ ){ $.fn.myPlugin = function(){ // Here I want methods... function foo() { // do something... } } })(jQuery); Then I want to call the inner function from outside the plugin like: $.myPlugin.foo(); But that doesn't seem to work. So is it even possible? Or are there any other solutions? I don't want to use an normal unrelated jQuery-Class for this purpose. Because this plugin should work together with some other jQuery-Plugins. Thank you
