  • CoreData : store images to DB or not?

    Hi.I am making an app that it takes photos from web site for some Username and shows it on UITable with username then when clicking user name it shows photos for this user and then clicking to name of photo it shows full screen photo. My question is I am using NSData to get photos from internet.Am I have to save also those data to CoreDAta? I am using like when pressing name of user it again creates NSData and downloads photos from internet and shows them on UTable. And it takes time. What is good approach? and How can save this images to CoreDAta? Main post shows the problem as an example scenario. 1) Now the problem is find and replace some string without considering the tags. The tags may shows up within a single word. String may contain multiple word. Tag only appear in the content string or the document. The search phrase never contain any tags. We can easily remove all tags and do some text operation. But here the another problem shows up. 2) The tags must be preserve, even after replacing the text. That is what the example shows. Thank you Again for helping

  • Delphi App has "No Debug Info" when Debugging

    We have built an application that uses packages and components. When we debug the application, the "Event Log" in the IDE often shows the our BPLs are being loaded without debug information ("No Debug Info"). This doesn't make sense because all our packages and EXEs are built with debug. _(each project) | Options | Compiling_ [ x ] Assertions [ x ] Debug information [ x ] Local symbols Symbol reference info = "Reference info" [ ] Use debug .dcus [ x ] Use imported data references _(each project) | Options | Linking_ [ x ] Debug information Map file = Detailed We have 4 projects, all built with runtime pacakges: Core.bpl Components.bpl Plugin.bpl (uses both #1 & #2) MainApp.exe (uses #1) Problems Observed 1) Many times when we debug, the Components.bpl is loaded with debug info, but all values in the "Local Variables" window are blank. If you hover your mouse over a variable in the code, there is no popup, and Evaluate window also shows nothing (the "Result" pane is always blank). 2) Sometimes the Event Log shows "No Debug Info" for various BPLs. For instance, if we activate the Plugin.bpl project and set it's Run | Parameter's Host Application to be the MainApp.exe, and then press F9, all modules seems to load with "Has Debug Info" except for the Plugin.bpl module. When it loads, the Event Log shows "No Debug Info". However, if we close the app and immediately press F9, it will run it again without recompiling anything and this time Plugin.bpl is loaded with debug ("Has Debug Info"). Questions 1) What would cause the "Local Variables" window to not display the values? 2) Why are BPLs sometimes loaded without debug info when the BPL was complied with debug and all the debug files (dcu, map, etc.) are available?

  • Mercurial central server file discrepancy (using 'diff to local')

    Newbie alert! OK, I have a working central Mercurial repository that I've been working with for several weeks. Everything has been great until I hit a really bizarre problem: my central server doesn't seem to be synced to itself? I only have one file that seems to be out-of-sync right now, but I really need to know how this happened to prevent it from happening in the future. Scenario: 1) created Mercurial repository on server using an existing project directory. The directory contained the file 'mypage.aspx'. 2) On my workstation, I cloned the central repository 3) I made an edit to mypage.aspx 4) hg commit, then hg push from my workstation to the central server 5) now if I look at mypage.aspx on the server's repository using TortoiseHg's repository explorer, I see the change history for mypage.aspx -- an initial check-in and one edit. However, when I select 'Diff to local', it shows the current version on the server's disk is the original version, not the edited version! I have not experimented with branching at all yet, so I'm sure I'm not getting a branch problem. 'hg status' on the server or client returns no pending changes. If I create a clone of the server's repository to a new location, I see the same change history as I would expect, but the file on disk doesn't contain my edit. So, to recap: Central repository = original file, but shows change in revision history (bad) Local repository 'A' = updated file, shows change in revision history (good) Local repository 'B' = original file, but shows change in revision history (bad) Help please!   • How do I display a view as if it's the front page via a module?

    I have a simple view that feeds a home page. I have a custom module that registers some specific URLs in hook_menu that I pass into my module so I can pass them as arguments into the view. I can get the module to display the view all right, but it doesn't use the teaser/is_front view that outputs when I access the home page. I looked through the APIs but I can't seem to figure out how I can output the view via my module as if it's the front page, meaning $is_front is true and the teasers would appear. The reason I'm not passing in the arguments via the URL bar into the view itself is: My argument list is known and finite The argument order is mixed, meaning I will sometimes have /argument1, /argument1/argument2 or just /argument2. I only want to capture the first level URL as an argument for specific, known strings (e.g. I don't want to pass /admin into my view but I do want to pass in /los-angeles, which I register in the menu system via hook_menu in my module) Here are some examples to make this more clear: /admin - loads the admin page /user - loads the login page /boston - passes into the first argument of the view; shows in front/teaser mode / - shows view with no arguments /bread - passes into argument 2 of the view; shows in front/teaser mode /boston/bread - Passes into argument 1 and 2 of the view; shows in front/teaser mode Maybe I'm going about this the wrong way?   • iPhone:How to make navigation top bar style to same like "Black Navigation Bar" programmatically?

    I have a Navigation project which has only a TableView. By default, i could see the navigation bar there when running the application. I want to change the navigation bar style to same like if we see in I.B there is one called "Top Bar" which has "Black Navigation Bar" style (Which shows Black navigation top bar but some kind of Gray shade will be there). I want the same in my navigation bar now, not any other color or style. How do i fix it? Note: 1. I used "self.navigationController.navigationBar.barStyle = UIBarStyleBlack;" , but it shows the navigation bar in utter black color. I don't want that, i want some kind of Gray shade in black, similar to "Top Bar" which has "Black Navigation Bar". I tried some tint color addition to the above, like "self.navigationController.navigationBar.tintColor = [UIColor grayColor];" but i observe the same utter black shows in navigation bar. I tried "navigationBar.barStyle = UIBarStyleBlackTranslucent;" but it doesn't fit and show with status bar properly. Instead it overlaps(hidden) half black with status bar and half black shows outside. Could someone teach me? Thank you.

  • I’m screwing up this LEFT JOIN

    I'm doing a left join on several tables. What I want to happen is that it list all the businesses. Then, it looks through the photos, videos, specials and categories. IF there are photos, then the tables shows yes, if there are videos, it shows yes in the table. It does all that without any problems. Except for one thing. For every photo, it shows the business that many times. For example, if there are 5 photos in the DB for a business, it shows the business five times. Obviously, this is not what I want to happen. Typical remotes won’t work completely in all external websites. So, you’ll still need a keyboard to be able to perform some operations such as switching to full screen mode. The Boxee app offers a more fully remote friendly environment, but unfortunately lacks a good portion of the Clicker.tv content.   • General monitoring for SQL Server Analysis Services using Performance Monitor

    A recent customer engagement required a setup of a monitoring solution for SSAS, due to the time restrictions placed upon this, native Windows Performance Monitor (Perfmon) and SQL Server Profiler Monitoring Tools was used as using a third party tool would have meant the customer providing an additional monitoring server that was not available.I wanted to outline the performance monitoring counters that was used to monitor the system on which SSAS was running. Due to the slow query performance that was occurring during certain scenarios, perfmon was used to establish if any pressure was being placed on the Disk, CPU or Memory subsystem when concurrent connections access the same query, and Profiler to pinpoint how the query was being managed within SSAS, profiler I will leave for another blogThis guide is not designed to provide a definitive list of what should be used when monitoring SSAS, different situations may require the addition or removal of counters as presented by the situation. However I hope that it serves as a good basis for starting your monitoring of SSAS. I would also like to acknowledge Chris Webb’s awesome chapters from “Expert Cube Development” that also helped shape my monitoring strategy:http://cwebbbi.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!7B84B0F2C239489A!6657.entrySimulating ConnectionsTo simulate the additional connections to the SSAS server whilst monitoring, I used ascmd to simulate multiple connections to the typical and worse performing queries that were identified by the customer. A similar sript can be downloaded from codeplex at http://www.codeplex.com/SQLSrvAnalysisSrvcs.     File name: ASCMD_StressTestingScripts.zip. Performance MonitorWithin performance monitor,  a counter log was created that contained the list of counters below. The important point to note when running the counter log is that the RUN AS property within the counter log properties should be changed to an account that has rights to the SSAS instance when monitoring MSAS counters. Failure to do so means that the counter log runs under the system account, no errors or warning are given while running the counter log, and it is not until you need to view the MSAS counters that they will not be displayed if run under the default account that has no right to SSAS. If your connection simulation takes hours, this could prove quite frustrating if not done beforehand JThe counters used……  Object Counter Instance Justification System Processor Queue legnth N/A Indicates how many threads are waiting for execution against the processor. If this counter is consistently higher than around 5 when processor utilization approaches 100%, then this is a good indication that there is more work (active threads) available (ready for execution) than the machine's processors are able to handle. System Context Switches/sec N/A Measures how frequently the processor has to switch from user- to kernel-mode to handle a request from a thread running in user mode. The heavier the workload running on your machine, the higher this counter will generally be, but over long term the value of this counter should remain fairly constant. If this counter suddenly starts increasing however, it may be an indicating of a malfunctioning device, especially if the Processor\Interrupts/sec\(_Total) counter on your machine shows a similar unexplained increase Process % Processor Time sqlservr Definately should be used if Processor\% Processor Time\(_Total) is maxing at 100% to assess the effect of the SQL Server process on the processor Process % Processor Time msmdsrv Definately should be used if Processor\% Processor Time\(_Total) is maxing at 100% to assess the effect of the SQL Server process on the processor Process Working Set sqlservr If the Memory\Available bytes counter is decreaing this counter can be run to indicate if the process is consuming larger and larger amounts of RAM. Process(instance)\Working Set measures the size of the working set for each process, which indicates the number of allocated pages the process can address without generating a page fault. Process Working Set msmdsrv If the Memory\Available bytes counter is decreaing this counter can be run to indicate if the process is consuming larger and larger amounts of RAM. Processor % Processor Time _Total and individual cores measures the total utilization of your processor by all running processes. If multi-proc then be mindful only an average is provided Processor % Privileged Time _Total To see how the OS is handling basic IO requests. If kernel mode utilization is high, your machine is likely underpowered as it's too busy handling basic OS housekeeping functions to be able to effectively run other applications. Processor % User Time _Total To see how the applications is interacting from a processor perspective, a high percentage utilisation determine that the server is dealing with too many apps and may require increasing thje hardware or scaling out Processor Interrupts/sec _Total  The average rate, in incidents per second, at which the processor received and serviced hardware interrupts. Shoulr be consistant over time but a sudden unexplained increase could indicate a device malfunction which can be confirmed using the System\Context Switches/sec counter Memory Pages/sec N/A Indicates the rate at which pages are read from or written to disk to resolve hard page faults. This counter is a primary indicator of the kinds of faults that cause system-wide delays, this is the primary counter to watch for indication of possible insufficient RAM to meet your server's needs. A good idea here is to configure a perfmon alert that triggers when the number of pages per second exceeds 50 per paging disk on your system. May also want to see the configuration of the page file on the Server Memory Available Mbytes N/A is the amount of physical memory, in bytes, available to processes running on the computer. if this counter is greater than 10% of the actual RAM in your machine then you probably have more than enough RAM. monitor it regularly to see if any downward trend develops, and set an alert to trigger if it drops below 2% of the installed RAM. Physical Disk Disk Transfers/sec for each physical disk If it goes above 10 disk I/Os per second then you've got poor response time for your disk. Physical Disk Idle Time _total If Disk Transfers/sec is above  25 disk I/Os per second use this counter. which measures the percent time that your hard disk is idle during the measurement interval, and if you see this counter fall below 20% then you've likely got read/write requests queuing up for your disk which is unable to service these requests in a timely fashion. Physical Disk Disk queue legnth For the OLAP and SQL physical disk A value that is consistently less than 2 means that the disk system is handling the IO requests against the physical disk Network Interface Bytes Total/sec For the NIC Should be monitored over a period of time to see if there is anb increase/decrease in network utilisation Network Interface Current Bandwidth For the NIC is an estimate of the current bandwidth of the network interface in bits per second (BPS). MSAS 2005: Memory Memory Limit High KB N/A Shows (as a percentage) the high memory limit configured for SSAS in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS10.MSSQLSERVER\OLAP\Config\msmdsrv.ini MSAS 2005: Memory Memory Limit Low KB N/A Shows (as a percentage) the low memory limit configured for SSAS in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS10.MSSQLSERVER\OLAP\Config\msmdsrv.ini MSAS 2005: Memory Memory Usage KB N/A Displays the memory usage of the server process. MSAS 2005: Memory File Store KB N/A Displays the amount of memory that is reserved for the Cache.   • "Hide from exchange address lists" not working in Exchange 2007

    Hiding a user by checking the "hide from exchange address lists" from exchange management console is not working. The user still shows up in GAL. When I ran Get-Mailbox -Identity _user_ | FL I got HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled : True So the check-box is working but the user still shows up. It's been over 3 weeks since hiding the user so it's not a time issue. This is what I have tried: Using Outlook in online mode Using OWA Regenerating GAL Un-checking then re-checking the "hide" check-box

    I'm kinda desperate here I have a Windows 2003 Server and when I try to call http://localhost I get a 404 error I have localhost configured to c:\inetpub\wwwroot\ and whatever file I create there it always shows a 404 This is what I see on the log file 2010-07-22 14:54:06 W3SVC1 127.0.0.1 GET / - 80 - 127.0.0.1 Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+6.0;+Windows+NT+5.2;+SV1;+.NET+CLR+1.1.4322;+.NET+CLR+2.0.50727;+.NET+CLR+3.0.4506.2152;+.NET+CLR+3.5.30729) 404 0 3 I tried restarting IIS with no luck, the eventvwr shows no error whatsoever.     Internet disconnects and reconnects, computer is in a peer to peer workstation with two other computers XP o/s. Only one computer has this problem the other two don't disconnect. Computer's connect to switch no router is being used. Ipconfig shows a DHCP connection, local area connection status shows packets being sent out but packets are not being received or being received at a extremely slow rate. Tried Winstock tool, reinstalling network card driver, restored to previous date, checked ethernet cable and release/renew IP.

  • Netgear WG311 v2 not identified on Windows 7

    I have a Netgear WG311 v2 wireless card. It was working fine on vista. Now I have installed Windows 7 and the device is not identified. Device Manager shows it as an Ethernet card. When I update the driver using the list provided with the Windows distribution. It shows it under Wireless devices in Device Manager but it says device cannot start code 10. Any idea on how to install it.

    I have a trendNET wireless/wired router, and inside the LAN I have a webserver on 192.168.10.103:80. Does anyone know how I can access the webserver from outside the LAN? I setup a "VirtualSever" to portforward publicIP:8080 to 192.168.10.103:80, but it never loads. Port scanning the external IP shows the port as "filtered" on the router, and from the inside, it shows 192.168.10.103:80 as open. Does anyone know how I can make this work?

  • Eucalyptus/ubuntu-server-11.04 - instance is running but can't access it

    I've installed Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud on a server and I'm able to bring up an instance from a image and the instance shows that is running. I see the IPs allocated to that instance but for some reason I can't access it via SSH. euca-describe-groups shows: GROUP admin default default group PERMISSION admin default ALLOWS tcp 22 22 FROM CIDR 0.0.0.0/0 I'm on the same network as the instance so I'm sure is not an networking problem (like routers, switches etc.). Any ides?

  • I disconnected my cellphone while transferring files to its Mini SD card. Now the files aren't there

    I use Ubuntu 9.10, and the MiniSD card shows as having the space used as if there were files. Baobab (the disk usage analyzer) shows that the card only has 118 MB used (of the 401 Ubuntu claims there are). Of course, I already tried the obvious (rebooting the phone, adding and removing files, etc.), but I don't want to format my card, because I still have some files on it, the transfer to my computer is slow, and because I use an old wire it fails often.

  • Excel 'recently used list' not showing on start menu, but working within excel

    In windows 7 when you pin Excel 2007 to the start menu, it usually has a small arrow which shows your recently opened documents. Mine only shows permanently pinned documents. It used to work until I tried Office 2010 and then uninstalled it. If I open Excel and click on the file menu, I can see all the recently opened documents so they are being recorded somewhere... Any idea on how to restore it so I can view them on the start menu - Which I always used before?

  • Starting Powerpoint show from ActiveX button

    I have several slide shows where topic related shows are launched from another show which acts as an index page. This worked fine in 2007 but now in Office 2010, whilst the show is still launched correctly from the index button, Powerpoint reopens on top of it, so now the show is hidden behind the Powerpoint startup page. Its very annoying, does anyone have any idea what is going on? Regards avondata
