  • How to get Visual Studio to step into third party assemblies

    - by ForeverDebugging
When I'm debugging or even coding, it would be really uesful to examine third party assemblies but I can only see their metadata. Given that tools like reflector can decompile assemblies, is there someway or some tool which would allow visual studio to do the same thing? If I happen to have access to the PDB files for an assemblies, would placing them into my applications bin folder allow me to examine the assemblies content through visual studio?

  • Functional testing of a 3-rd party java program

    - by Dmitri Nesteruk
I have a 3-rd party java application (I don't own source code) and I want to perform functional testing on it, similar to the way it's done in watin/watij/selenium/nunitforms etc. Can anyone suggest a library that I can use to do this sort of testing. What I'm interested in is clicking the applet's buttons, reading off text values, and the like. Thanks!

  • Adding a third table to a Join

    - by John
    Hello, This query works fine: $sqlStr = "SELECT s.loginid, s.title, s.url, s.displayurl, l.username FROM submission AS s, login AS l WHERE s.loginid = l.loginid ORDER BY s.datesubmitted DESC LIMIT 10"; Would this work if I wanted to join a third MySQL table (called "comment") to it? $sqlStr = "SELECT s.loginid, s.submissionid s.title, s.url, s.displayurl, l.username, count(c.comment) countComments FROM submission AS s, login AS l, comment AS c, WHERE s.loginid = l.loginid AND s.submissionid = c.submissionid ORDER BY s.datesubmitted DESC LIMIT 10"; Thanks in advance, John

  • Create window as child in third party application.

    - by Nathan W
I'm trying to get my C# form to be parented correctly in a third party app, I have the handle to the control that I would like my form parented to but just can't seem to get it to work. I would like to create my form so that it is part of the MDIClient, handle 005E0ED6. Just like Window 01D7157D. Is this possible? If so can it be done in C#?

    - by MrSnowflake
Hi guys, I'm trying to make an ActivityGroup which has it's own interface, which should be persistent between Activities. I have it working for my own Activities. But when I try to launch a 3rd party activity (from it's Intent{action="ACTION_HOME", category="CATEGORY_LAUNCHER"}) I get a java.lang.SecurityException because the Activity I want to start does not have the same UID as the calling Activity. Does anyone knows how to cirumvent this?

    - by Ying
    Hi, I have a groovy list of lists i.e. list = [[2, 0, 1], [1, 5, 2], [1, 0, 3]] I would like sort it by order of the first element, then second, then third. Expected assert list == [[1, 0, 3], [1, 5, 2], [2, 0, 1]] I started with list = list.sort{ a,b -> a[0] <=> b[0] } but that only sorts the first element. How do you finish? Thanks

    - by donaldadams1951
I am writing an application that needs to read a data field on another Delphi program and I do not have access to the source code of the 3rd party program. The data field contains the "foreign key" to a record I need to retrieve or create in my application. I would appreciate any links to knowledge or components that will help me with my program.

  • Understanding the Customer Form in Release 12 from an AR Perspective!!

    - by user793553
Confused by the Customer Form in Release 12??  Read on, to get some insight into the evolution of this screen, and how it links in with Trading Community Architecture. Historically, the customer data model was owned by Oracle Receivables (AR).  However, as the data model changed and more complex relationships and attributes had to be tracked and monitored, the Trading Community Architecture (TCA) product was created.  All applications within the E-Business suite that require interaction with a customer integrate with TCA. Customer information is no longer stored in the individual applications but rather in a central repository/registry maintained within TCA.  It is important to understand the following entities/concepts stored in TCA: Party: A party is an entity with whom you can have a potential business relationship.  A party can be either a Person or an Organization.  The Party entity is completely independent of any business relationship; this means that a Party can exist even if you have no transactions with it.   The Party is the "umbrella" entity under which you capture all other attributes listed below. Customer: A customer is a party with whom you have an existing business relationship.  From an AR perspective, you can simplify the concepts by thinking of a Customer as a Party. This definition however does not apply to all other applications. In the Oracle Receivables Customer form, the information displayed at the Customer level is from TCA's Party information record. Customer Account (also called Account): An account contains information about how you transact business with a particular customer.  You can create multiple accounts for a customer.  When you create invoices and receipts you associate it to a particular Account of a Customer. Location: A Location is an address.  It is a point in space, typically identified by a street number, a street name, a city, a state or province, a country.  A location is independent of what it is used for - you do not associate a purpose to a location. Party Site: A Party Site is associated to a Party.  It is the location where a party is physically located.  When defining sites for a Party, only one can be an identifying address.  However, you can define other party sites associated to a party. You can define purposes/usage for Party Sites. Account Site: An Account Site is associated to a Customer Account. It is the location associated to the account you are transacting business with. You can define business purposes (also called site uses) for an Account site. • Monday at Oracle OpenWorld 2012 - Must See Session: “Using the Right Tools, Techniques, and Technologies for Integration Projects”

    - by Lionel Dubreuil
Don’t miss this “CON8669 - Using the Right Tools, Techniques, and Technologies for Integration Projects“ session with Timothy Hall - Sr. Director, Oracle: Date: Monday, Oct 1, Time: 3:15 PM - 4:15 PM Location: Moscone South - 308 Every integration project brings its own unique set of challenges. There are many tools and techniques to choose from. How do you ensure that you have a means of consistently and repeatedly making decisions about which tools, techniques, and technologies are used? In working with many customers around the globe, Oracle has developed a set of criteria to help evaluate a variety of common integration questions. This session explores these criteria and how they have been further organized into decision trees that offer a repeatable means for ensuring that project teams are given the same guidance from project to project. Using these techniques, the presentation shows how you can reduce risk and speed productivity for your projects Objectives for this session are to: Discuss common questions that arise at the start of integration projects Review various decision criteria and approaches for getting to a consistent set of answers Explore how these techniques can be used to reduce risk and speed productivity

  • Silverlight 4 - MVC 2 ASP.NET Membership integration "single sign on"

    - by Scrappydog
Scenario: I have an ASP.NET MVC 2 site using ASP.NET Forms Authentication. The site includes a Silverlight 4 application that needs to securely call internal web services. The web services also need to be publically exposed for third party authenticated access. Challenges: Securely accessing webservices from Silverlight using the current users identity without requiring the user to re-login in in the Silverlight application. Providing a secure way for third party applications to access the same webservices the same users credentials, ideally with out using ASP.NET Forms Authentication. Additional details and limitations: This application is hosted in Azure. We would rather NOT use RIA Services if at all possible. Solutions Under Consideration: I think that if the webservices are part of the same MVC site that hosts the Silverlight application then forms authentication should probably "just work" from Silverlight based on the users forms auth cookies. But this seems to rule out the possibility of hosting the webservices seperately (which is desirable in our scenario). For third-party access to the web services I'm guessing that seperate endpoints with a different authenication solution is probably the right answer, but I would rather only support one version of the services if possible... Questions: Can anybody point me towards any sample applications that implements something like this? How would you recommend implementing this solution?

  • Integration testing - can it be done right?

    - by Max
I used TDD as a development style on some projects in the past two years, but I always get stuck on the same point: how can I test the integration of the various parts of my program? What I am currently doing is writing a testcase per class (this is my rule of thumb: a "unit" is a class, and each class has one or more testcases). I try to resolve dependencies by using mocks and stubs and this works really well as each class can be tested independently. After some coding, all important classes are tested. I then "wire" them together using an IoC container. And here I am stuck: How to test if the wiring was successfull and the objects interact the way I want? An example: Think of a web application. There is a controller class which takes an array of ids, uses a repository to fetch the records based on these ids and then iterates over the records and writes them as a string to an outfile. To make it simple, there would be three classes: Controller, Repository, OutfileWriter. Each of them is tested in isolation. What I would do in order to test the "real" application: making the http request (either manually or automated) with some ids from the database and then look in the filesystem if the file was written. Of course this process could be automated, but still: doesn´t that duplicate the test-logic? Is this what is called an "integration test"? In a book i recently read about Unit Testing it seemed to me that integration testing was more of an anti-pattern?
