  I have a platformer that is in progress, part of this has a camera which I only want to move when the character moves out of a certain threshold, to try to accomplish this I have the following if statement: if(((Mathf.Abs(target.transform.position.x))-(Mathf.Abs(transform.position.x)))>thres){ x = moveTo(transform.position.x, target.position.x, trackSpeed); } in unity/c#. In pseudocode it means if((absolute value of player x) - (absolute value of camera x) is greater than the threshold){ move { however this does not seem to work correctly. it appears to work for the first couple of times the threshold is reached, however the distance between the camera and the player has to increase every time for the camera to move.   I don't know how to reproduce this problem, because I don't regularly play music or sound. All I know is that, sometimes, I'll load a video (from youtube or from a local file) and there will be no sound. • Mouse and keyboard stop working after suspend or screensaver lock

  If I leave the computer and let it run into screensaver and lock the screen, the mouse left click won't go back to work. If I suspend the computer, the keyboard won't get back to work. It started after upgrading to Ubuntu 11.04. Any tips to solve this problem? • Laptop buttons not working on a Dell Latitude e6400

  I have install Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit on my Dell Latitude E6400 laptop. I have the latest bios version for my laptop (A32) which I downloaded from the official Dell website by checking updates that matches the service tag on my laptop. I'm having serious problems with all the mouse buttons on my laptop. The right-click button doesn't work at all under any circumstance. The left click button only work when clicking on icons in the left side-bar and in the top menu (like clicking on the power icon in the top-right corner or clicking on the file menu). However none of the buttons work in any of the applications even simple one like the file browser (home folder). For example when I try to click on a folder inside nautilus it doesn't work or when I try to click on the "x" close icon to close the window it also doesn't work. Can you help me figure it out?

  When you combine multiple filters, Reporting Services uses AND logic. Once upon a time, there was actually a drop-down list for selecting AND or OR between filters which was very confusing to people because often it was grayed out. Now that selection is gone, but no matter. It wouldn’t help us solve the problem that I want to describe today. As with many problems, Reporting Services gives us more than one way to apply OR logic in a filter. If I want a filter to include this value OR that value for the same field, one approach is to set up the filter is to use the IN operator as I explained in Part 1 of this series. But what if I want to base the filter on two different fields? I  need a different solution. Using the AdventureWorksDW2008R2 database, I have a report that lists product sales: Let’s say that I want to filter this report to show only products that are Bikes (a category) OR products for which sales were greater than $1,000 in a year. If I set up the filter like this: Expression Data Type Operator Value [Category] Text = Bikes [SalesAmount]   > 1000 Then AND logic is used which means that both conditions must be true. That’s not the result I want. Instead, I need to set up the filter like this: Expression Data Type Operator Value =Fields!EnglishProductCategoryName.Value = "Bikes" OR Fields!SalesAmount.Value > 1000 Boolean = =True The OR logic needs to be part of the expression so that it can return a Boolean value that we test against the Value. Notice that I have used =True rather than True for the value. The filtered report appears below. Any non-bike product appears only if the total sales exceed $1,000, whereas Bikes appear regardless of sales. (You can’t see it in this screenshot, but Mountain-400-W Silver, 38 has sales of $923 in 2007 but gets included because it is in the Bikes category.)

  I have icedtea6-plugin installed on my Ubuntu box. The weird thing is, when I am browsing the internet, certain website are able to use the Java and some websites are not. For instance, I am able to log in to my bank at nordea.dk. They use a Java applet to authenticate the user. But when I try to use keepvid.com, it says "Loading Java Applet". And then after a minute or two it says "Error: Please click here to download Java. If you already have Java, please restart your browser and try again." The thing is I've restarted my computer, closed and opened my browser(chromium) and none of it seems to help. Could someone please point me in the right direction to solve this problem? Thanks.

• Gnome3 pointer barrier not working with dual monitors

  I have a dual monitor setup using Gnome3. Misc Info : In the past I used Fedora, there was a pointer barrier between my two monitors in the upper left corner so that I can hit the hot corner when moving from the right monitor to the left monitor. Problem : However, with my new Ubuntu installation, the barrier no longer exists and my mouse pointer glides straight to the next screen. This makes that hot corner nearly useless. I've looked around, messed with the values in /usr/share/gnome-shell/js/ui/layout.js, but I can't figure out how to make the pointer barrier work. may someone suggest hot to get the full utilization of hot cornet.

  I recently upgraded to 12.04 LTS. My Compaq Presario CQ-40 324la touchpad worked after first restarting after installation. But after restarting a second time, the touchpad is completely disabled, without having changed anything in the system. I've tried solutions but haven't had good results. The applications I've installed (fro "solutions" are: Pointing Devices Synaptiks Dconf-Tools I've also tried updating GRUB, adding this line: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash i8042.nomux") I tried these commands in a terminal. • Bluetooth not working on Acer 3820tg (Ubuntu 12.04)

  After upgrading to 12.04 (it was done by a complete reinstallation), bluetooth doesn't work anymore. Before (I think it was Ubuntu 11.04), I just followed instructions on this page and copied /lib/firmware/ath3k-2.fw to /lib/firmware/ath3k-1.fw and everything was fine. • glx not working, optirun works, gnome in fallback mode

  It all started when I installed nvidia's own driver. Uninstalling it and reverting back to nvidia-current didn't solve the problem, so I have been playing with this for a while. Now nvidia-current seems to be functional. It seems glx support is missing, and my intel graphics is not responding. gnome loads only in fallback mode.   I have been having trouble with Ubuntu on my Dell XPS 8300 (Actual image of the desktop). I have heard that the AMD Radeon HD 6450 has trouble with Ubuntu, and I believe that it is the source of the problem (though I am no expert by any means). When I boot the computer and choose to run Ubuntu, on a rare occasion both monitors (I have an AOC and a Samsung) will display their correct desktops, however most of the time, one of the desktops will be shifted away from its proper position and awkwardly positioned on the screen (showing the login box in the middle/right etc). If anyone has any advice on how to fix this, that would be greatly appreciated.

  I am usually behind a proxy server in college so I connect to the ethernet or wifi using manual IPv4 addresses only inside college. I have been trying really hard to get the internet work at home, there is no proxy and I have set the network to use automatic dhcp. It seems like it is not able to connect to the port, It gets disconnected after some time automatically and then tries to reconnect. The same thing is happening with wifi networks also, after some time i see a pop up asking for authentication and ultimately its not able to connect. What might be the problem here. I looked up some similar questions and checked the /etc/network/interfaces file and looks like this: auto lo iface lo inet loopback I have no idea what those lines mean but there is no configuration for eth0 or wlan0. Any help is deeply appreciated. Ubuntu loses it charms due to these small glitches.

  I'm a noob to Ubuntu, but not computers. I installed a full version of Ubuntu version 12 whatever it is. I run it on a machine that has Win7/Win8 on another hard drive. My wireless adapter is some tiny USB stick I got on eBay - it works great in Windows, but I can't get it to work in Ubuntu. More precisely, Ubuntu is providing me a list (sometimes) of wireless networks in the area and when I try to connect to mine it just keeps password prompting me even though the one I use is correct. I looked over all the settings multiple times and don't believe there is anything in error regarding what it takes to connect to my network. So, I thought maybe it is a driver issue and came across NDIS. I thought I should try installing it, but I don't know how when I can't connect the Ubuntu machine to the Internet. I tried some commands to no avail. I have the Ubuntu installation disc and it shows a NDIS common and utils .deb files in there. Can someone out there help me out to get this wireless setup so I can get online?

  I've made the leap from Windows to Ubuntu 12.04 for about a week now. All has been going well and i even managed to fix the slow Internet issue but i definately need specific help with this one. I share a laptop with my brother who installed Tor, tor-geoipdb and torsocks. I removed these applications as I realised the Internet was slow for some reason. The problem I have now is that Deluge will not download anything, I tried to uninstall reinstall but still the same thing. Can you help???

The "Cooking" lens is supposed to show recipes, but I just get a blank result - nothing is found. I have another lens which I assume is the youtube lens I installed, that sits and searches forever when I switch to it, and even type a search into it.
