• How can I rewrite a subdomain to go to a specific file in a specific folder?

  I've done searching for my answer and have tested a few solutions, but nothing has worked so far. I'm trying to get a URL like this: http://baseball.sports.com to rewrite to... http://pro.sports.com/baseball-index.php However, I still need to keep the domain the same (http://baseball.sports.com). The reason being I have about 5 subdomains (baseball, football, soccer, etc) that I want to run off the same code base (pro.sports.com). Everything is on the same server. I'd be happy to answer any other questions that would help me get a resolution. I truly appreciate any direction that can be given to me to solve this. Thanks! --Nick

• XNA 2D Rotated Rectangle Collision Response

  I am using Rotated Rectangles which collide using the Separating Axis Theorem and they work perfectly fine for collision detection using Intersects and Contains. However, I am starting to use faster objects in my game now and there is the issue of the two object overlapping during collision due to their higher velocities. I would like to do a collision response where I find out how much they are overlapping in the X and Y and put position them outside of each other. I would like to use something like this: http://go.colorize.net/xna/2d_collision_response_xna/index.html. But I am having some issues trying to adapt this to handle the rotation of the bounds. Is this possible? Are there any resources out there that I can look at?

  Hi, Sorry if the question is not worded well, I'm a new to both 3D and OpenGL. How could I go about obtaining the 3D coordinates of the occluding object, at the point where occlusion is happening (i.e. the 'intersection' of the object in front/closest to the screen)? Just to offer a [very] rudimentary, visual, example, if you were to form an index-finger cross, with your right hand closest to your face, I'd like to know the coordinates of the part of your right finger which obscures the other finger (obviously back within the OpenGL context - no jokers ;-) ). If there is a way to find out both about the occluder (hider) and the occluded (hidden) objects in OpenGL, then that would be of great use, also. Cheers Rich

• After a domain change, what can I do to recover lost traffic, rankings, impressions etc? [duplicate]

  This question already has an answer here: How do I rename a domain and preserve PageRank? 3 answers I moved my site to a legacy exact-match domain I purchased about a couple of months ago. I have seen significant reduction in traffic, impressions, and rankings. I did all the right steps/best practices: change of address in GWT, map old site hierarchy and match to new site for 301 redirects etc. Indexation has gone through the Google process: old site has all but dissappeared from he index and new site is indexed, albeit with some 404 errors which I am addressing. Does anyone else who has gone through eh domain change process have any thoughts/advice? Thanks!

  For a website with dynamic content (new content is constantly being added), should I only include the newest content in the sitemap or should I include everything (with a sitemap index)? What are the best practices for sitemaps esp. for large sites? Also, is there anyway to make google (and other search engines) only crawl the pages in the sitemap? • Strange issue with Wordpress sites, is it PHP Memory?

  This has happened to me twice with the same host and I want to know the real cause. I have multiple wordpress sites hosted on a shared server. One day when I attempt to visit any of the sites, the webpage simply downloads the index.php file. It happens on all wordpress sites but not on static sites hosted there. I understand this is a php issue on the server, but what could be happening specifically? the only thing I could find when searching is something to do with memory limits. Is this common? Should I be worried about this host?

• Can anyone list some real examples of 'HTML5' being used in the wild?

  I am using HTML5 in the same way everyone seems to be using it these days, meaning: HTML5 tags, Canvas / 3D / javascript and CSS3. I am struggling to find examples of sites that are using these technologies practically and that are not just a demo of something cool someone has managed to do using Canvas or CSS3 transforms or shapes. I am looking for sites that have a nice visual look but also take advantage of things like animation, scrolling and offset à la Silverback or the Canvas to create an interactive and I guess 'Flash-looking' site. But its too complicated and also I do not want to create symlinks and mount and all the stuff mentioned there.   Does anyone know where I can download a driver for the VAKOSS TK-487-UK illuminated keyboard to run on Ubuntu? Or at least how to control the USB port so that it stops flickering on and off. The USB port works fine but the Keyboard is not recognized by Ubuntu... Already read the post on youtube and script but did not work either...tried changing USB ports, rebooting, etc. This has been going on for a week.   I have an awesome URL, I've had it since the mid 90's, and up until around 2002 I was having an awesome time writing music reviews and features into static pages and adding their URL to static index pages and everything was just great. Then things got complicated really fast, and for one reason or another I handed the site over to a very talented friend who turned it into a db based site run by cf. Now, here I am around twelve years later putting it all back together using mysql, php and css on a need-to-learn basis and even though I'm sooo close to where I want it to be I realize, erm, it should have been written using mysqli etc etc ad infinitum. So I'm wondering at what point do I just give in and hire a developer to take over, how much does it even cost, and how do I know I'm working with someone who is better than I am?

When I attempt to use the Ubuntu Update Manager to update to 11.04, I get this error message: Failed to Fetch Fetching the upgrade failed.There may be a network problem. Sure, Google will need some time to index new pages and we expect our SERP positions will be not so good as they are now for some time. We also have an old idea to remove www from our domain name. It seems, it's the right time to do these two works together with publishing the website with updated contents.   I'm building a strange div shaped structure and I need a hint to resolve a clicking problem. This is a jsfiddle to show you the issue. The structure for each element is: <div class="views-row"> <div class="diamonds-container"> CONTENT </div> </div> I have a onclick() event on .diamonds-container but the .views-row div of the next element [with red or blue background..] go over the container and stop the click event on it. I tryed to play with the z-index but I didn't have the expected result. How can I achieve this structure with a correct click event on diamonds-containers ? I think I can track the .views-row click with javascript and trigger manually a click on the previous diamonds-container but this will be my final option. How can I achieve this without javascript?

• How do I recover a site after WordPress' Automatic Update has failed?

  I manage several WordPress websites, and successfully recently used the Automatic Upgrade feature to bring them up to 3.1. However, on one of the sites, I received a 503 (I believe it was 503). After that I was presented with "The service is unavailable." whenever I tried to access any page, including the index page, wp-admin, etc. I had similar problems before when a WordPress site got stuck in maintenance mode, and all I needed to do was login via FTP and rename or delete the .maintenance file. I tried that in this case, but that didn't do the trick. I am now presented with "Fatal error: Call to undefined function require_wp_db() in **\wp-settings.php on line 71" I can't figure out how to fix this problem, and I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas. I had target keywords which were ranking very well for about 1 month, within the top five and even appearing in first place. In an attempt to maintain good positioning, I followed guidelines by adding robots.txt, an xml sitemap redirecting non-www to www redirecting index.php to root domain adding htaccess 301 redirect for old pages I added rich snippets created a google+ account, verified my picture to appear, I went through each of the webmaster issues with duplicate titles and meta descriptions and improved header tag document outlines i even created a few more blog posts to keep the content freshing and moving. So now my website appears on page 2 with my target keywords - and all because I followed the guidelines. What is happening? I see competitors with stagnant content superglued to position 1.

  I'm using c++ and D3D11 and I'm trying to create a (pretty) large terrain, lets say 4096x4096, maybe larger. I've got the basics of terrain creation and already split it up into chunks. But, when I'm rendering them (every chunk has its own vertex and index buffer, as well as its own heightmap), there are still little pieces missing between them.
