    So I have a website that I recently made changes to, and one of the changes was removing a page from the site. I deleted the page, it doesn't exist anymore. However, when you search for my site, one of the results is the page that I deleted. People are clicking on the page and getting an error. How do I remove that page from the search results?

But if I try this in Python: import urllib site = 'http://bitbucket.org/tortoisehg/stable/wiki/Home/ReleaseNotes' req = urllib.urlopen(site) text = req.read() I get the following: 500 Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. What am I doing wrong?

(I do not intend my site being in competition with them - mine would be more of a social networking site). Has anyone had experience with it in a large production site? I haven't run a huge sample of markup through it yet, but so far it has seemed to do the job fine.

    Here's my scenario. I have a web site, which automatically posts updates to Twitter using cURL at the moment. But I hear Twitter is going to turn this feature off and move to OAuth. I tried implementing OAuth in my site, but the user actually has to manually authenticate before being able to post anything to twitter. How can I use OAuth and still let my website post updates automatically, without me having to manually click on "authenticate"?

I use a Frame to show a website, unfortunateli some of my websites use flash, and seems to want to install a flash plugin - my frame doesnt seem to accept this behavior so it fails giving me a http 500 internal server error. I keep getting an repeated login box prompt, and it appears that it has to do with the Themes images and the CSS style sheets.   • Redirect all requests to a subdirectory

    I have a drupal site install at example.com/drupal but now that the site is built I want to forward all requests to that directory, without it ever showing "drupal" in url. I think this can be done with .htaccess, but I didn't know if that was a hack-y answer. I'm using mediatemple's GridServer so I don't have complete control over apache settings and stuff, although I do have SSH.

  • Does Google punish content duplication across multiple country domains?

    I like the way Google handles internationalization, with domains such as google.co.uk, google.nl, google.de etc. I'd like to do this for my own site, but I'm concerned that Google will interpret this as content duplication, particularly across countries that speak the same human language, as there won't be any translation to hint that the content is different. My site is a web application, not a content farm, so is this a legitimate concern? Would I be better off with subdomains of my .com? Directories?

    We are using htaccess basic authentication on one of our sites. One of our clients tried accessing the site and failed logging in multiple times. Now when visiting our site they simply get a "Can't Display Webpage" error. I believe I've had this before and I believe there IP's got banned after so many failures.     In their dev site,AOL says the contacts api would coming soon from the year 2008-_- but I can't find anything about it since then, and I find in window live add contacts site: http://cid-7b76c1c8e1ade1ea.profile.live.com/connect/ They have a program to port contacts from AOL, that is this only for Microsoft. Is there another method to do this?

The whole site is written in .net. None of the site is database driven so most of it works, except for the contact form. The output on the site simple states there was an error with "There has been an error - please try to submit the contact form again, if you continue to experience problems, please notify our webmaster." This is just a simple message it pops out of it gets to the "catch" part of the email function.
