• Vim (Windows) - new help files do not work

  I have downloaded several new plugins which come with a help file. None of them seem to work from within Vim. I have the Windows version of gVim and the install dir contains a folder called: vimfiles vim72 Both folder contain a plugin and doc folder. Where am I supposed to put the plugin? So when I use :help [helpfile], it says it cannot find it, but I can see it in the doc folder.

• Problems Embedding Video using FCK Editor

  Hello, I am using FCK Editor 2.6.4 and having problems trying to embed a (non-YouTube) video into a content area. I found this previous question / post: [EDIT -- as a new user, I am only able to post one link in this post. The post in question is titled, "Can I embed video using FCK Editor?") and have investigated all of the proposed solutions, but none of them work properly: 1 -- Using the "Embed Flash" button in the control panel almost works. However, the video I am attempting to add contains a querystring with parameters, like this: http://static.animoto.com/swf/w.swf?w=swf/vp1&e=1275795594&f=mGQklEgxXKs9vfEIdGnWsA&d=132&m=p&r=w&i=m&ct=Homes%20in%20Eagle%20Creek&cu=http://hometoindy.com/eagle-creek-real-estate.php&options= and in using the Flash embed tool, it encodes all of the "&" characters to "&", thus breaking them. If it were just for me, I could manually change them back, but clients who use this will not know how to do that. 2 -- I have installed the YouTube video plugin, and it works great... for YouTube. But it cannot be used to embed non-YouTube videos (it automatically changes the URL to YouTube, no matter what). 3 -- I have installed the EmbedMovies plugin, but it throws a javascript error when attempting to add a video file (such as the above) to a page. (The EmbedMovies plugin page on SourceForge says it has been updated for FCK Editor 2.6, but it does not work.) 4 -- Pasting directly into the editor window (of course) does not work. The only way I've been able to make this work is by pasting into the Source panel, and this is not a good option for clients who are not familiar with HTML. So, is there a good, working plugin for FCK editor that will allow me to quickly and easily embed a video such as the one above into a content area? I don't need to be able to see or preview it in the editor window; I just need it to work when the page is loaded on the front end. Thanks!

Is it feasible to get the thumbnails of the pics automatically through code after been uploaded by admin? Suggest me the available libraries to get thumbnails of the pics where the size and shape of the pic being uploaded can be modified. The plugin should either be in C# or JQuery.

• Starting jetty with spring xml as a background process/thread

  My goal is to set up a jetty test server and inject a custom servlet to test some REST classes in my project. I was able to launch the server with spring xml and run tests against that server. The issue I'm having is sometimes after the server started, the process stopped at the point before running the tests. It seems jetty didn't go to background. It works every time on my computer. But when I deployed to my CI server, it doesn't work. It also doesn't work when I'm on VPN. (Strange.) The server should be completed initialized as when the tests stuck, I was able to access the server using a browser.   I'm using Masonry and Embedly plugin to display embedded content, I've put together an example in jsfiddle.net/anir/pBtbb/3/ It appears the Masonry plugin loads first and it causes the overlapping problem (they only show correctly when you resize the result window) I've read that I could use callback functions or retrigger Masonry once embedly has finished rendering content, but I don't know how to do it. Can you help me? Is there any other solution to fix this?

  If you have a hard disk image (including partition table, multiple partitions,...), is it possible to let Linux treat it as a regular hard disk? By "regular hard disk" I mean I would like to have the image show up as, for instance, /dev/hdx and its partitions as /dev/hdx1,... (I know I can mount one of the partitions in the image using "mount -o loop,offset=x ..." but I don't really like this option.)

  I need to mount a remote filesystem on a linux box using the afp protocol. The linux box runs an old Debian 4. I downloaded the source code of mount_afp, compiled it and installed it with all the required packages. Then created /etc/fuse with the following command: mknod /dev/fuse c 10 229 (according to the instructions here) I can mount the remote filesystem as root by executing: mount_afp afp://USER:PASSWD@REMOTE_SERVER/FOLDER /mnt/MOUNTPOINT/ but the same command fails when run as normal user (of the local machine). After reading here and there, I created a group fuse, and added my normal user U to the group fuse: [prompt] groups U U fuse Then modified the group of /dev/fuse, that now has the following rights: 0 crwxrwx--- 1 root fuse 10, 229 Feb 8 15:33 /dev/fuse However, if the user U tries to mount the remote filesystem by using the same command as above, U gets the following error: Incorrect permissions on /dev/fuse, mode of device is 20770, uid/gid is 0/1007. But your effective uid/gid is 1004/1004 But the user U with uid 1004 has also gid 1007 (group fuse). I might think the problem is related to real/effective/etc. ID, but I do not know how to proceed and could not find any clear instructions. Could you please help me? There is also another problem. If I mount /mnt/MOUNTPOINT as root and run ls -l /mnt, I get: drwxrwxrwx 15 root root 466 Feb 8 16:34 MONTPOINT If I run ls -l /mnt as normal user U I get: ? ?????????? ? ? ? ? ? MOUNTPOINT in fact when I try to cd /mnt/MOUNTPOINT I get: $-> cd /mnt/MOUNTPOINT -sh: cd: /mnt/MOUNTPOINT: Not a directory Then I unmount /mnt/MOUNTPOINT as root and run again ls -l /mnt as normal user U I get: 0 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 6 Feb 8 15:32 MOUNTPOINT/ After reading Frank's answer, I killed every shell/process running with privileges of user U. Still U cannot mount the remote filesystem, but the error message has changed. Now it is: "Login error: Authentication failed". The problem is not related to remote login/password since the same command works perfectly when run as root of the local machine. Since I cannot get mount_afp to work with normal users, I decided to follow mgorven's suggestion. So I run the commands: mount_afp -o allow_other afp://USER:PASSWD@REMOTE_SERVER/FOLDER /mnt/MOUNTPOINT/ and mount_afp -o user=U afp://USER:PASSWD@REMOTE_SERVER/FOLDER /mnt/MOUNTPOINT/ The mount succeeds but user U cannot access the mount point. If U executes ls -l in /mnt U@LOCAL_HOST [/mnt] $-> ls -l ls: cannot access MOUNT_POINT: Permission denied total 0 ? ?????????? ? ? ? ? ? MOUNT_POINT Is it so hard to have this utility working?

  I tried to view the superblock by command "dd" in ext3 file system. dd if=/dev/sda3 bs=4096 skip=1 count=1 of=superblock But the result in superblock file is not correct(I compare the value of Inodes count I got from dumpe2fs). The device file /dev/sda3 is started at the boot block and then the superblock of the group0? And another question is the boot block and superblock's size are both BLOCKSIZE(here is 4096)? The disk format of ext2/ext3(I think they are the same) are shown below:

  I'm using following makeprg to get my tex files compiled in vim: setlocal makeprg=pdflatex\ \-file\-line\-error\ \-shell\-escape\ \-interaction=nonstopmode\ $*\\\|\ tee\ \/dev\/tty\ \\\|\ grep\ \-P\ ':\\d{1,5}:\ ' which yields great results (errors displayed properly, tex compilation shown while busy,...) Yet, when there are errors and the quickfix window pops up, its status bar is cluttered up with the makeprg string: pdflatex\ \-file\-line\-error\ \-shell\-escape\ \-interaction=nonstopmode\ $*\\\|\ tee\ \/dev\/tty\ \\\|\ grep\ \-P\ ':\\d{1,5}:\ ' Is there a way of changing the quickfix title/statusbar?

  So I have to preface that I'm not familiar with tomcat/catalina, but trying to troubleshoot this anyway.   I need to access a Linux box via SSH & Samba that is hidden/connected behind another one. Setup :- A switch B C |----| |---| |----| |----| |eth0|----| |----|eth0| | | |----| |---| |eth1|----|eth1| |----| |----| Eg, SSH/Samba from A to C How does one go about this? I was thinking that it cannot be done via IP alone? Or can it? Could B say "hi on eth0, if your looking for 192.168.0.2, its here on eth1"? Is this NAT? This is a large private network, so what about if another PC has that IP?! More likely it would be PAT? A would say "hi 192.168.109.15:1234" B would say "hi on eth0, traffic for port 1234 goes on here eth1" How could that be done? And would the SSH/Samba demons see the correct packet header info and work?? IP info :- A - eth0 - 192.168.109.2 B - eth0 - B1 = 192.168.109.15 B2 = 172.24.40.130 - eth1 - 192.168.0.1 C - eth1 - 192.168.0.2 A, B & C are RHEL (RedHat) But Windows computers can be connected to the switch. I configured the 192.168.0.* IPs, they are changeable. Update after response from Eddie Few problems (and Machines' B IP is different!) • How do I allow remote access to mysql using xampp?

  I'm using xampp and navicat to manage mysql on two dev machines (laptop & desktop). The laptop is my main machine, while the desktop acts as a local dev server for the group. Connecting to mysql via localhost in navicat is working fine on the laptop. Is there a way (other than the http tunneling method) to allow access to the desktop from the laptop via navicat?
