  I am looking into solutions for providing multiple login methods to my site. I found rpxnow.com and they map user accounts from all the different networks. My question is how do they know that I am user1 on twitter and bigdude2 on facebook? I'm hoping it goes beyond email lookups. The end result I want is a unique user in my database no matter what account they sign in with, dupes are a no-no, but most likely inevitable I am guessing.

exist for the emailaddress dont update data else create a user and update its profilexml from data fecthed from gedcom. for this i think i need some soln by which i can do only one roundtrip to database and can update all user's xml. or i can execute one sp to get userid from all users where i'll check if user exist then return userid else insert basic data and return inserted userid then for every user make xml from data and update it. please provide be suggestion what is best practice to do this kind of development. if need any more details please write me

I'm starting simple and just trying to extract the name (\gpx\name).   I am attempting to understand the world of WIF in context of a WCF Data Service / REST / OData server. I have a hacked up version of SelfSTS that is running inside a unit test project. When the unit tests start, it kicks off a WCF service, which generates my SAML token. This is the SAML token being generated: <saml:Assertion MajorVersion="1" MinorVersion="1" ... > <saml:Conditions>...</saml:Conditions> <saml:AttributeStatement> <saml:Subject> <saml:NameIdentifier Format="EMAIL">4bd406bf-0cf0-4dc4-8e49-57336a479ad2</saml:NameIdentifier> <saml:SubjectConfirmation>...</saml:SubjectConfirmation> </saml:Subject> <saml:Attribute AttributeName="emailaddress" AttributeNamespace="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/claims"> <saml:AttributeValue>[email protected]</saml:AttributeValue> </saml:Attribute> <saml:Attribute AttributeName="name" AttributeNamespace="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/claims"> <saml:AttributeValue>bob</saml:AttributeValue> </saml:Attribute> </saml:AttributeStatement> <ds:Signature>...</ds:Signature> </saml:Assertion> (I know the Format of my NameIdentifier isn't really EMAIL, this is something I haven't gotten to cleaning up yet.) Inside my actual server, I put some code borrowed from Pablo Cabraro / Cibrax. This code seems to run A-OK, although I confess that I don't understand what's happening. I note that later in my code, when I need to check my identity, Thread.CurrentPrincipal.Identity is an instance of Microsoft.IdentityModel.Claims.ClaimsIdentity, which has a claim for all the attributes, plus a nameidentifier claim with the value in my NameIdentifier element in saml:Subject. It also has a property NameClaimType, which points to "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/claims/name". It would make more sense if NameClaimType mapped to nameidentifier, wouldn't it? How do I make that happen? Or am I expecting the wrong thing of the name claim? Thanks!

• do not require smtp authentication for a specific domain using hMail server

  One of my clients has a needlessly complex e-mail setup for a couple of domains, which is causing problems when they try to send e-mail between them. They have a couple of domains where mail follows a slightly weird path: Users connect to an Exchange server to send e-mail The exchange server relays the message to an ISP-owned SMTP server as a smart host The ISPs server delivers the mail to the mail exchanger specified in DNS The mail exchanger is another server that runs hMailServer The Exchange server connects to the hMail server via POP3 and retrieves the messages. The problem arises when they send mail between addresses in the same domain, or two addresses that are present on the hMail server. hMail requires SMTP authentication when sending from local to local addresses, so the messages don't arrive. Removing SMTP authentication isn't really an option, as the server has been the target of spam being sent from spoofed local addresses. SMTP authentication prevents this. It is possible to add the ISP's mail server as an IP range with specific rules, but this seems inelegant. Bearing in mind I only have access to the hMail server and not the Exchange server, is there a better way of going about this?

  I have a class that I am using to model my data in MVC. I have added some DataAnotations to mark fields that are required and I am using regular expressions to check valid Email Addresses. Everything works fine if the object is posted back to MVC and I have the ModelState property that I can check to confirm that the class is valid but how do I check to see if the class is valid outside of MVC using the same class and Data Anotations that I have already set up?

• Environment variable does not get read?

  I have a console application in Visual studio. i have log4net stuff with smtp appender in my app.config file. I have set environment variable in my code (i.e. my email address) and trying to reference this environment variable to send email. However log4net doesn't seem to read this value when the application is run. Columns for tables: users: uid, displayname, email gamehistories: gid, pubID, start (datetime), end (datetime) gamescores: gid, uid, score I am trying to produce the following result set given a userID (uid): Opponent's displayname, my score, opponent's score, duration Any ideas? Is my design ok? How can I query these tables to get game histories for a given uid?

• Could this server log mean my server is being used as a proxy?

  I came across the following entry in my access.log: 58.218.199.147 - - [05/Jun/2012:12:56:04 +1000] "GET http://proxyproxys.com/ HTTP/1.1" 200 183 "-" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)" Normally when I see a full URL entry in my access.log I assume it is log spam with people trying to get me to access their site. These entries are normally followed with a 404 response. The above entry is followed with a 200 'success' response! Doing some searching it would seem that this can occur when someone is trying to use your server as a proxy. This disturbed me more - especially because the URL in question has the word proxy in it. I want the SVProgressHUB to be displayed during this hang time, how can I do this?

  I have an issue with sendmail on my server (ubuntu 12.10) with php, mysql,and wordpress installed. Basically I want to create a contact form in my blog to receive emails from visitors directly into my gmail account but it doest work!
