  I've a table with 2 columns and each column is 800px wide. I want to show this table in 800x50 window. So there should be horizontal and vertical scrollbar to view complete table. While I've found few related solutions (this and this) on SO, they only work if table width is smaller than screen size. In my case screen size is 1200px and total table width is 1600px. How could I do this? i want to achieve something like this.

The problem is in that "img/loading.gif" and safari (on winXP): in ff and ie I have no problems, and I clearly see the animated gif. In safari I can't see it. If I change the image with a (obviously static) png the image appears... Am I doing something wrong? What's the problem with safari?

  What I am trying to do is open up a JFilechooser that filters jpeg,gif and png images, then gets the user's selection and inserts it into the JEditorPane.   On a website, I want to display the main navigation as an unordered list. • Search Form in Responsive Design - Remove Search button on Mobile

  I'm working with a search box in the header of a responsive website. On desktop/tablet widths, there's a search input field and a styled 'search' button to the right. You can type in a search term and either click 'SEARCH' button or just hit enter on the keyboard with the same result. When you scale down to mobile widths, the search input field fills the width of the screen. The submit button falls below it. On a desktop, clicking the button or hitting enter activate the search. On an actual iphone phone, you can hit the 'SEARCH' button, but the native mobile keyboard that rises from the bottom of the screen has a search button where the enter/return key would normally be. It seems to know I'm in a form and the keyboard automatically gives me the option to kick off the search by basically hitting the ENTER key location....but it says SEARCH. So far so good. I figure I don't need the button in the header on mobile since it's already in the keyboard. Therefore, I'll hide the button on mobile widths and everything will be tighter and look better. So I added this to my CSS to hide it in mobile: #search-button {display: none;} But now the search doesn't work at all. On mobile, I don't get the option in the keyboard that showed up before and if I just hit enter, it doesn't work at all. On desktop at mobile width, hitting enter also not longer works. So clearly by hiding the submit/search button, the phone no longer gave me the native option to run the search. In addition, on the desktop at mobile width, even hitting enter inside the search input box also fails to launch the the search.   I have two div elements that are twins (i.e. their dimensions and contents are identical). I want to move of those div-s over another, so that their corners are at exactly the same coordinates. What I try to do is: var offset = $('div#placeholder').offset(); $('div#overlay').css('position', 'absolute').css('left', offset.left + 'px').css('top', offset.top + 'px') -- but this causes the overlay to be exactly (or almost exactly, taking subpixel accuracy into account) 16px below the placeholder (below, i.e. overlay_top = placeholder_top + 16px). I'm aware that offset() gives position relative to the document, and position: absolute sets position relative to body element, but compensating for body offset() doesn't help much (I'm getting 8px offset, equal to margins): offset.top -= $('body').offset().top; offset.left -= $('body').offset().left; Also, compensating for body margins (in case they were different that offset() didn't help, as they were set to 8px). Does somebody know what I'm doing wrong here? UPDATE: Take a look at here - I'm getting the same result in FireFox 3.6.3 and Opera 10.10.

  I can't figure out why this page: http://wohf.squarespace.com/newsletter/ gets cut off at the bottom in safari, seems to work fine in all other browsers (as far as I found so far)!!   hi, i have a page with dynamic data loaded by some ajax and lots of javascript. the page contains a list from which the user can choose and each selected value loads new data to the page. one of these data items is a url provided to an iframe. i use jQuery BBQ: Back Button & Query Library to simulate the browser-back behavior. all works well besides the fact that when i click the back button for the first time the iframe goes back to its previous location and then i need to click back again to make the page go back. is there a way to disable the iframe's back behavior?
