  • Android Notification Bar Number

    - by JonF
    I've been able to successfully display the notification number count on the Android emulator. However, it doesn't display anything when I use it on an actual Android phone. Any suggestions on why there might be a difference?

  • Why use FQDN as DNS-server option in DHCP?

    - by Filip Haglund
    I've seen multiple default configurations of DHCP-servers with a FQDN set as the DNS-server option. Doesn't this imply a catch-22, or the need for that DNS-server to be in the hosts file of every single client? example from dhcp3-server in debian 6: option domain-name-servers ns1.internal.example.org; I can see how using a dns name is convenient because it's only an A-record to change, and they can be load balanced if wanted, but I don't see how the client is going to resolve the name. Why are people using FQDN's as DNS-server addresses in DHCP?

  • 550 relay not permitted

    - by Nick Swan
    Hi, we are using Fogbugz on our server to do customer support emails. Occasionally though we get errors coming back when sending emails of: 550 relay not permitted This seems to happen at random though, sometimes sending an email to a person works, next time to the same person it'll bounce back. I've tried setting up reverse DNS with the server host and creating the SPF record in GoDaddy but we still get some of these errors. Is there anything else I can do, and is there a way of testing these are actually configured correctly? Many thanks, Nick

  • DKIM for email through Google Apps domain with external outbound relay

    - by David Gardiner
    I'd like to enable the new Domain Keys DKIM email authentication feature for a domain hosted in Google Apps. Some of my users use an external SMTP gateway (such that when they send email, it doesn't go through smtp.gmail.com). I have an SPF record configured for the domain, and this allows the external SMTP gateways as valid SMTP hosts. (I realise SPF is different to DKIM) Will enabling DKIM adversely affect the external gateway email? eg. Are the externally sent emails at risk of being marked as spam because they would not have the DKIM signature, or will DKIM only positively benefit emails sent through Google's SMTP server?

  • SaveFileDialog problem (C#) (VS2008)

    - by typoknig
    Hi all, I am having an issue with SaveFileDialog for some reason. All I want to do is extract data from a text box line by line and write it to a text file, then save that text file to the desktop. The first bit of code works fine (though it doesn't save to the desktop). The second bit of code is what I want to use, but when it creates the text file the text file is empty. What did I do wrong in my second bit of code? This code works, but it does not save to the desktop and it isn't as nice as the second code. //When the Save button is clicked the contents of the text box will be written to a text file. private void saveButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { int textBoxLines = textBox.Lines.Count(); if (File.Exists(saveFile)) { result = MessageBox.Show("The file " + saveFile + " already exists.\r\nDo you want to replace it?", "File Already Exists!", MessageBoxButtons.YesNo); if (result == DialogResult.Yes) { TextWriter tw1 = new StreamWriter(saveFile); for (int i = 0; i < textBoxLines; i++) { tw1.WriteLine(textBox.Lines.GetValue(i)); } tw1.Close(); } if (result == DialogResult.No) { MessageBox.Show("Please move or rename existing " + saveFile + "\r\nBefore attempting to save again.", "Message"); } } else { TextWriter tw2 = new StreamWriter(saveFile); for (int i = 0; i < textBoxLines; i++) { tw2.WriteLine(textBox.Lines.GetValue(i)); } tw2.Close(); } } This code does not work, but it is what I want to use. //When the Save button is clicked the contents of the text box will be written to a text file. private void saveButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { int textBoxLines = textBox.Lines.Count(); Stream saveStream; SaveFileDialog saveDialog = new SaveFileDialog(); saveDialog.Filter = "txt files (*.txt)|*.txt|All files (*.*)|*.*"; saveDialog.FilterIndex = 2; saveDialog.RestoreDirectory = true; saveDialog.FileName = (saveFile); saveDialog.InitialDirectory = (Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.Desktop)); if (saveDialog.ShowDialog() == DialogResult.OK) { if ((saveStream = saveDialog.OpenFile()) != null) { StreamWriter tw = new StreamWriter(saveStream); for (int i = 0; i < textBoxLines; i++) { tw.WriteLine(textBox.Lines.GetValue(i)); } saveStream.Close(); } } }

  • VB .Net LINQ query to determine whether more than one element has the same value for a property?

    - by Alex Hope O'Connor
    I am trying to write a LINQ query which will return true if there are multiple objects which have a property with the same value. Here is what I have come up with so far: Formatters.Where(Function(f As DataModel.Formatter) _ Formatters.Select(Function(f2 As DataModel.Formatter) f2.Name.ToLower()).Contains(f.Name.ToLower())).Count > 1 However the above always returns true as long as their are more then 1 elements in the list, can someone please give me a hand with this? Thanks, Alex.

  • SQL Server 2008 FTS CONTAINSTABLE Not Returning More Than Five Rows

    - by Elijah Glover
    I have a single table called "Indexes", it contains one nvarchar and three ntext columns (all Full Text Indexes). Index is up to date. CONTAINSTABLE(Indexes, *), 'test', 5) //5 results No matter what I change the above keyword too, it only returns the first 3-5 results. It should roughly return 90-120 results, for the above query. SELECT count(*) FROM Indexes WHERE [Description] like '%test%' //122 results How would I start to troubleshoot this problem?

  • Using a MiFi via WDS

    - by Joril
    I have a Huawei R201 MiFi connected to the internet, and I'd like to use its internet connection even from devices that don't have WiFi, so I grabbed a wireless router I had lying around and configured WDS so that it'd connect to the MiFi, and this is working nicely (I can ping the MiFi from the router web interface). The next step was connecting my PC to the router via ethernet cable, but now I'm stuck... The PC can ping the router, but not the MiFi (they're all on the same subnet). Since the router can ping the MiFi, I guess this is some kind of routing issue? Should I get a more "flexible" router, such as one with DD-WRT maybe? Is what I'm trying to do even possible? (For the record the PC is running Lubuntu 11.10)

  • jquery two ajax call asynchrounsly in asp.net not working...

    - by eswaran
    Hi all, I am developed an web application in asp.net. In this application I have used jquery ajax for some pages. In this application, when I make two ajax call asynchrounoulsy that would not do as I expceted. what is happening is even the second ajax call finishes i can see the result when the maximum time out ajax call finished. I mean i can see the both results in the same time, not one by one. for an example. I have 3 pages 1) main.aspx - for make two ajax request. 2) totalCount.aspx - to find the total count. (max it takes 7 seconds to return, as corresponding table contains 3 lak records) 3) rowCount.aspx - to find the row details. (max it takes 5 seconds to return result). due to this scene, I have planed to make asyn call in jquery ajax in asp.net. here is my code... function getResult() { getTotalCount(); getRows(); } // it takes max 7 seconds to complete // as it take 7 seconds it should display second.( I mean after the rows dispaying) // but displaying both at the same time after the max time consuming ajax call completed. function getTotalCount() { $.ajax({ type : "POST", async : true, url : "totalCount.aspx?data1=" + document.getElementById("data").value, success : function(responseText) { $("#totalCount").attr("value", responseText); } }) } // it takes max 5 seconds to complete. // after finished, this should display first.( i mean before total count displays) // but displaying both at the same time after the max time consuming ajax call completed. function getRows() { $.ajax({ type : "POST", url : "getrows.aspx?data1=" + document.getElementById("data").value, async : true, success : function(responseText) { $("#getRows").attr("value", responseText); } }); } I would like to know, If there is any possible to make asyn call in jquery ajax in asp.net. I searched in net, I got some points that says we cannot do this in asp.net ref link: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg55125.html if we can do this in asp.net How to do that? thanks r.eswaran.

  • What are the main differences between SRV records and TXT records?

    - by Chris Adams
    Hi there, I'm trying to consolidate domain names for the servers I look after to just use one panel instead of 3 or 4, and one thing stopping me is that the provider I originally wanted to move them to only lets me the following kinds of records: A MX NS CNAME TXT The first four I understand, but I'm not sure about the relationship (if any) between SRV records and TXT records. Can I use TXT records in the place of SRV records? They both seem to be general text records to just point at a particular server without needing to specify a particular protocol, so it doesn't sound like a totally unreasonable assumption, but I'd rather check here before I break something. If I can only set the above records, does that mean I'm essentially unable to so any SRC record redirecting? Thanks!

  • vPopmail / xinetd.

    - by Lorren Biffin
    I'm attempting to setup vpopmail on my CentOS server (Media Temple). Everything is working like a charm, with the exception that I cannot login to the server from any pop3 client. Upon trying to login I get the following error: Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server mail.(mydomain).com responded: Login failed. I'm running qmail (of course) with xinetd (not tcpserver). I've placed a file called pop3 into the folder /etc/xinetd.d with the content: service pop3 { disable = no socket_type = stream protocol = tcp wait = no user = root server = /var/qmail/bin/qmail-popup server_args = mail.(mydomain).com /home/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw /var/qmail/bin/qmail-pop3d Maildir log_type = FILE /var/log/xinetd.log log_on_success = HOST log_on_failure = HOST RECORD } Can anybody offer any guidance here? I've been unsuccessfully trying to make this happen for over a week.

  • Run script when POST data is sent to Apache

    - by Nathan Adams
    Among my several years of running servers there seems to be a pattern with most spam activity. My question/idea is that is there a way to tell Apache to run a script when POST data is detected? What I would want to do is perform a reverse DNS lookup on the client's IP address, and then perform a DNS lookup on the hostname in the PTR record. Afterwards, perform some checks, excuse the pseudo-code: if PTR does not exist: deny POST request if IP of PTR hostname = client's IP Allow POST request else deny POST request Though I don't care about GET requests, even though they can be just as malicious, this idea is targeted towards spam comments which use POST data to send the comment data to the web server. In order to make sure there isn't much of a time delay, I would run my own recursive DNS server. Please do note, this isn't meant to be a sliver bullet to spam, but it should decrease the volume. Possible or impossible?

  • Expression Too Complex In Access 2007

    - by Jazzepi
    When I try to run this query in Access through the ODBC interface into a MySQL database I get an "Expression too complex in query expression" error. The essential thing I'm trying to do is translate abbreviated names of languages into their full body English counterparts. I was curious if there was some way to "trick" access into thinking the expression is smaller with sub queries, or if someone else had a better idea of how to solve this problem. I thought about making a temporary table and doing a join on it, but that's not supported in Access SQL. Just as an FYI, the query worked fine until I added the big long IFF chain. I tested the query on a smaller IFF chain for three languages, and that wasn't an issue, so the problem definitely stems from the huge IFF chain (It's 26 deep). Also, I might be able to drop some of the options (like combining the different forms of Chinese or Portuguese) As a test, I was able to get the SQL query to work after paring it down to 14 IFF() statements, but that's a far cry from the 26 languages I'd like to represent. SELECT TOP 5 Count( * ) AS [Number of visits by language], IIf(login.lang="ar","Arabic",IIf(login.lang="bg","Bulgarian",IIf(login.lang="zh_CN","Chinese (Simplified Han)",IIf(login.lang="zh_TW","Chinese (Traditional Han)",IIf(login.lang="cs","Czech",IIf(login.lang="da","Danish",IIf(login.lang="de","German",IIf(login.lang="en_US","United States English",IIf(login.lang="en_GB","British English",IIf(login.lang="es","Spanish",IIf(login.lang="fr","French",IIf(login.lang="el","Greek",IIf(login.lang="it","Italian",IIf(login.lang="ko","Korean",IIf(login.lang="hu","Hungarian",IIf(login.lang="nl","Dutch",IIf(login.lang="pl","Polish",IIf(login.lang="pt_PT","European Portuguese",IIf(login.lang="pt_BR","Brazilian Portuguese",IIf(login.lang="ru","Russian",IIf(login.lang="sk","Slovak",IIf(login.lang="sl","Slovenian","IIf(login.lang="fi","Finnish",IIf(login.lang="sv","Swedish",IIf(login.lang="tr","Turkish","Unknown")))))))))))))))))))))))))) AS [Language] FROM login, reservations, reservation_users, schedules WHERE (reservations.start_date Between DATEDIFF('s','1970-01-01 00:00:00',[Starting Date in the Following Format YYYY/MM/DD]) And DATEDIFF('s','1970-01-01 00:00:00',[Ending Date in the Following Format YYYY/MM/DD])) And reservations.is_blackout=0 And reservation_users.memberid=login.memberid And reservation_users.resid=reservations.resid And reservation_users.invited=0 And reservations.scheduleid=schedules.scheduleid And scheduletitle=[Schedule Title] GROUP BY login.lang ORDER BY Count( * ) DESC; @ Michael Todd I completely agree. The list of languages should have been a table in the database and the login.lang should have been a FK into that table. Unfortunately this isn't how the database was written, and it's not really mine to modify. The languages are placed into the login.lang field by the PHP running on top of the database.

  • Is there an audio recording application/tool that has Tivo-like functionality?

    - by Bob
    I do a lot of live speech recording that requires me to quickly jump back and then transcribe a particular piece of the audio, then go back to recording again, while still maintaining the full audio file. So Far I've done this by splitting the audio and running one line to a recorder (for the whole audio), and one to my computer. Then I use something like Audacity to record, and then stop/go back whenever I hear something worth transcribing. This requires me to stop the recording, then start it up again and I end up missing chunks of the speech I'm listening to. Is there a tool that would let me rewind, then listen again and continue listening at a buffered distance from the audio recording, the way Tivo does with television shows?

  • How to set RpcClientAccessServer for a Exchange 2010 mailbox database to a load balancer

    - by Archit Baweja
    I have 2 Exchange 2010 servers each with a Mailbox Database. I have also setup a Hardware Load Balancer (KEMP LoadMaster 2200 to be precise) to load balance the CAS role access. My HLB has an IP of 192.168.1.100. I've setup the DNS A record for mail.mydomain.com to point to 192.168.1.100. However when I try to set the RpcClientAccessServer on a mailbox database using Set-MailboxDatabase "My Mailbox Database" -RpcClientAccessServer mail.mydomain.com I get an error saying Exchange server "mail.mydomain.com" was not found. Please make sure you have typed it correctly. + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [], ManagementObjectNotFoundException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : 4082394C Any ideas?

  • Can I somehow know which replacement is taking place from within a callback of preg_replace_callback

    - by jayarjo
    I'm using preg_replace_callback to substitute particular tokens within the string. But apart from actual token I need to know as well whether that token was first, second or third in a subject string. Is there any way to access that info? I found an argument $count in preg_replace_callback definition (http://php.net/manual/en/function.preg-replace-callback.php), which counts replacements, but I'm not sure if it is accessible from within callback. Any example of the usage in described context?

  • Hosting a site on amazon ec2

    - by Khalid Mushtaq
    I have recently bought an amazon ec2 instance. Now I want to host a website. I have googled and found some useful info but there is some confusion in my mind. Suppose domain name is "http://www.example.com" That's what I have done so far. I have configured my domain locally on amazon ec2 instance and it's working fine when I open that url in amazon ec2 instance's browser. I have used http://www.example.com in /etc/hosts file point it to 127.0.0.1 to open locally on instance. I have got one elastic ip address and associated it with the instance. I have changed http://www.example.com A's record with the elastic IP that I have got in above step. Now what should I do? When some user will open my website anywhere in the world, will it get pointed to my instanace's ip address? Have I done proper configurations for website on instance?

  • Execution Plan Optimization when where clause is removed then added back

    - by nmushov
    I have a stored procedure that uses a table valued function which executes in 9 seconds. If I alter the table valued function and remove the where clause, the stored procedure executes in 3 seconds. If I add the where clause back, the query still executes in 3 seconds. I took a look at the execution plans and it appears that after I remove the where clause, the execution plan includes parallelism and the scan count for 2 of my tables drops for 50000 and 65000 down to 5 and 3. After I add the where clause back, the optimized execution plan still runs unless I run DBCC FREEPROCCACHE. Questions 1. Why would SQL Server start using the optimized execution plan for both queries only when I first remove the where clause? Is there a way to force SQL Server to use this execution plan? Also, this is a paramaterized all-in-one query that uses the (Parameter is null or Parameter) in the where clause, which I believe is bad for performance. RETURNS TABLE AS RETURN ( SELECT TOP (@PageNumber * @PageSize) CASE WHEN @SortOrder = 'Expensive' THEN ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY SellingPrice DESC) WHEN @SortOrder = 'Inexpensive' THEN ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY SellingPrice ASC) WHEN @SortOrder = 'LowMiles' THEN ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY Mileage ASC) WHEN @SortOrder = 'HighMiles' THEN ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY Mileage DESC) WHEN @SortOrder = 'Closest' THEN ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY P1.Distance ASC) WHEN @SortOrder = 'Newest' THEN ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY [Year] DESC) WHEN @SortOrder = 'Oldest' THEN ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY [Year] ASC) ELSE ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY InventoryID ASC) END as rn, P1.InventoryID, P1.SellingPrice, P1.Distance, P1.Mileage, Count(*) OVER () RESULT_COUNT, dimCarStatus.[year] FROM (SELECT InventoryID, SellingPrice, Zip.Distance, Mileage, ColorKey, CarStatusKey, CarKey FROM facInventory JOIN @ZipCodes Zip ON Zip.DealerKey = facInventory.DealerKey) as P1 JOIN dimColor ON dimColor.ColorKey = P1.ColorKey JOIN dimCarStatus ON dimCarStatus.CarStatusKey = P1.CarStatusKey JOIN dimCar ON dimCar.CarKey = P1.CarKey WHERE (@ExteriorColor is NULL OR dimColor.ExteriorColor like @ExteriorColor) AND (@InteriorColor is NULL OR dimColor.InteriorColor like @InteriorColor) AND (@Condition is NULL OR dimCarStatus.Condition like @Condition) AND (@Year is NULL OR dimCarStatus.[Year] like @Year) AND (@Certified is NULL OR dimCarStatus.Certified like @Certified) AND (@Make is NULL OR dimCar.Make like @Make) AND (@ModelCategory is NULL OR dimCar.ModelCategory like @ModelCategory) AND (@Model is NULL OR dimCar.Model like @Model) AND (@Trim is NULL OR dimCar.Trim like @Trim) AND (@BodyType is NULL OR dimCar.BodyType like @BodyType) AND (@VehicleTypeCode is NULL OR dimCar.VehicleTypeCode like @VehicleTypeCode) AND (@MinPrice is NULL OR P1.SellingPrice >= @MinPrice) AND (@MaxPrice is NULL OR P1.SellingPrice < @MaxPrice) AND (@Mileage is NULL OR P1.Mileage < @Mileage) ORDER BY CASE WHEN @SortOrder = 'Expensive' THEN -SellingPrice WHEN @SortOrder = 'Inexpensive' THEN SellingPrice WHEN @SortOrder = 'LowMiles' THEN Mileage WHEN @SortOrder = 'HighMiles' THEN -Mileage WHEN @SortOrder = 'Closest' THEN P1.Distance WHEN @SortOrder = 'Newest' THEN -[YEAR] WHEN @SortOrder = 'Oldest' THEN [YEAR] ELSE InventoryID END )

  • Memory efficient int-int dict in Python

    - by Bolo
    Hi, I need a memory efficient int-int dict in Python that would support the following operations in O(log n) time: d[k] = v # replace if present v = d[k] # None or a negative number if not present I need to hold ~250M pairs, so it really has to be tight. Do you happen to know a suitable implementation (Python 2.7)? EDIT Removed impossible requirement and other nonsense. Thanks, Craig and Kylotan! To rephrase. Here's a trivial int-int dictionary with 1M pairs: >>> import random, sys >>> from guppy import hpy >>> h = hpy() >>> h.setrelheap() >>> d = {} >>> for _ in xrange(1000000): ... d[random.randint(0, sys.maxint)] = random.randint(0, sys.maxint) ... >>> h.heap() Partition of a set of 1999530 objects. Total size = 49161112 bytes. Index Count % Size % Cumulative % Kind (class / dict of class) 0 1 0 25165960 51 25165960 51 dict (no owner) 1 1999521 100 23994252 49 49160212 100 int On average, a pair of integers uses 49 bytes. Here's an array of 2M integers: >>> import array, random, sys >>> from guppy import hpy >>> h = hpy() >>> h.setrelheap() >>> a = array.array('i') >>> for _ in xrange(2000000): ... a.append(random.randint(0, sys.maxint)) ... >>> h.heap() Partition of a set of 14 objects. Total size = 8001108 bytes. Index Count % Size % Cumulative % Kind (class / dict of class) 0 1 7 8000028 100 8000028 100 array.array On average, a pair of integers uses 8 bytes. I accept that 8 bytes/pair in a dictionary is rather hard to achieve in general. Rephrased question: is there a memory-efficient implementation of int-int dictionary that uses considerably less than 49 bytes/pair?

  • iphone Odd Problem when using a custom cell

    - by Brodie4598
    Please note where I have the NSLOG. All it is displaying in the log is the first three items in the nameSection. After some testing, I discovered it is displaying how many keys there are because if I add a key to the plist, it will log a fourth item in log. nameSection should be an array of the strings that make up the key array in the plist file. the plist file has 3 dictionaries, each with several arrays of strings. The code picks the dictionary I am working with correctly, then should use the array names as sections in the table and the strings en each array as what to display in each cell. so if the dictionary i am working with has 3 arrays, NSLOG will display 3 strings from the first array: 2010-05-01 17:03:26.957 Checklists[63926:207] string0 2010-05-01 17:03:26.960 Checklists[63926:207] string1 2010-05-01 17:03:26.962 Checklists[63926:207] string2 then stop with: 2010-05-01 17:03:26.963 Checklists[63926:207] * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSRangeException', reason: '* -[NSCFArray objectAtIndex:]: index (3) beyond bounds (3)' if i added an array to the dictionary, it log 4 items instead of 3. I hope this explanation makes sense... -(NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView{ return [keys count]; } -(NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger) section { NSString *key = [keys objectAtIndex:section]; NSArray *nameSection = [names objectForKey:key]; return [nameSection count]; } -(UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { NSUInteger section = [indexPath section]; NSString *key = [keys objectAtIndex: section]; NSArray *nameSection = [names objectForKey:key]; static NSString *SectionsTableIdentifier = @"SectionsTableIdentifier"; static NSString *ChecklistCellIdentifier = @"ChecklistCellIdentifier "; ChecklistCell *cell = (ChecklistCell *)[tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier: SectionsTableIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { NSArray *nib = [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"ChecklistCell" owner:self options:nil]; for (id oneObject in nib) if ([oneObject isKindOfClass:[ChecklistCell class]]) cell = (ChecklistCell *)oneObject; } NSUInteger row = [indexPath row]; NSDictionary *rowData = [self.keys objectAtIndex:row]; NSString *tempString = [[NSString alloc]initWithFormat:@"%@",[nameSection objectAtIndex:row]]; NSLog(@"%@",tempString); cell.colorLabel.text = [tempArray objectAtIndex:0]; cell.nameLabel.text = [tempArray objectAtIndex:1]; return cell; return cell; } - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:indexPath]; if (cell.accessoryType == UITableViewCellAccessoryNone) { cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryCheckmark; } else if (cell.accessoryType == UITableViewCellAccessoryCheckmark) { cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryNone; } [tableView deselectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath animated:NO]; } -(NSString *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView titleForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section{ NSString *key = [keys objectAtIndex:section]; return key; }
