  • Paginator (Migration from Cake 1.3 to 2.0

    i am struggling with the paginator in cakephp 2.0. While i am trying to migrate my application to 2.0 i cant find any solution to jump directly to the last page. In 1.3 it was quiet to do that from outside like this: echo $this->Html->link(__('Flights'), array('controller' => 'flights', 'action' => 'index','page' => 'last')); but this little trick putting 'page:last' in does not work anymore in 2.0. Of course there is a Paginator function called last, but this would only help if i would be already inside the app. My Problem is to access from an outside link directly the last page of the paginator.     I've been struggling this for a while and I simply can't figure this out. Here is my code: <?php foreach($list as $id =>$name) { echo("<td style=\"vertical-align:middle;\"> <a href=\"item=$id#confirm\" role=\"button\" data-toggle=\"modal\"> Buy</a></td></tr>"); }?> <html> <div class="modal small hide fade" id="confirm" tabindex="-1" role="dialog" aria- labelledby="myModalLabel" aria-hidden="true"> <a href="redeem.php?item=<?php echo $id; ?>"><button class="btn btn-danger"> Buy</button></a></div> The main issue here is that the $id from the foreeach is not the same as the $id in the div class link. Instead the link is the end value of the foreach list.

    The main page ("parent.html") has a link that ajaxloads a page ("page1.html") into a div ("targetdiv") in the main page, like so: parent html: $("#targetdiv").html(loading).load('page1.html'); This works fine and "page1.html" is loaded into "targetdiv". The "page1.html" also has a link in it that is supposed to ajaxload another page ("page2.html") into "targetdiv" (onto itself), like so: page1.html: (in "targetdiv") $("#targetdiv").html(loading).load('page2.html'); This does not work; "html(loading)" comes up in "targetdiv" and stays there, "page2.html" is not loaded.     I have an application with set limits on subscription attributes i/e a user can have five projects for subscription A but have ten for subscription B At present I run a check on there current usage when linking to the create action and if they are over there limit I do not display the link to create a new project. On the view (for the new project ) I again run the check (in a helper) to see if they can create a new project and if they are not I display a message stating so and a little upgrade link. Is this a secure method of stopping a user bypassing there subscription attribute limitations ? What about direct PUT requests etc ?

    I have some scenario like this: Product- Platform- mylibs(version-1) Product- mylibs(version-2) i.e Product uses mylibs (version-2) directly. Product also uses platform (which is also a dynamic lib) and platform uses my libs (version-1). The names of the libs used by product and platform are same. Only versions are different and both these versions are not compatible. Is there a way with ".so" libs in linux that Platform can link to one version and product can link to another version of the same libs having the same name?

  • Make 2 links same height in columns?

    I have a setup where i have a unordered list on a page with x <li><a href="#">Link text</a></li>. They are via CSS set to 50% width each, so that i have 2 items on each line. My problem is that 2 links on one line, can vary in height as they have different link text. My question is; how can i, via jQuery, set the same height for each (the a is styles with a border bottom, so it would look best if they alined) on the same line? But not all in the sections should have the same height, only on a "pr line" basis. Hope it makes sence :)

    I'm building a database class and thought it'd be a good idea to incorporate some form of SQL injection prevention (duh!). Here's the method that runs a database query: class DB { var $db_host = 'localhost'; var $db_user = 'root'; var $db_passwd = ''; var $db_name = 'whatever'; function query($sql) { $this->result = mysql_query($sql, $this->link); if(!$this->result) { $this->error(mysql_error()); } else { return $this->result; } } } There's more in the class than that but I'm cutting it down just for this. The problem I'm facing is if I just use mysql_real_escape_string($sql, $this->link); then it escapes the entire query and leads to a SQL syntax error. How can I dynamically find the variables that need to be escaped? I want to avoid using mysql_real_escape_string() in my main code blocks, i'd rather have it in a function. Thanks.
