    I have taken backup of SQL Server 2008 DB on server, and download them to local environment. I am trying to restore that database and it is keep on giving me following error. An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement or batch. (Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo) ------------------------------ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The media family on device 'C:\go4sharepoint_1384_8481.bak' is incorrectly formed. SQL Server cannot process this media family. RESTORE HEADERONLY is terminating abnormally. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 3241) For help, click: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?ProdName=Microsoft+SQL+Server&ProdVer=09.00.4053&EvtSrc=MSSQLServer&EvtID=3241&LinkId=20476 I have tried to create a temp DB on server and tried to restore the same backup file and that works. I have also tried no. of times downloading file from server to local pc using different options on Filezila (Auto, Binary) But its not working. After that I tried to execute following command on server. BACKUP DATABASE go4sharepoint_1384_8481 TO DISK=' C:\HostingSpaces\dbname_jun14_2010_new.bak' with FORMAT And it is giving me following error. Msg 3201, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Cannot open backup device 'c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\Backup\ C:\HostingSpaces\dbname_jun14_2010_new.bak'. Operating system error 123(The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.). Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.   • Calling Msbuild from Php - Wrong Codepage and Culture

    Continuing a previous question I asked here, I now need to move to vs2010. I've gotten the most recent weekly build of WiX 3.5, the June 5th 2010 version. Here's the relevant lines from my installer: <ItemGroup> <BootstrapperFile Include="Microsoft.Net.Framework.4.0"> <ProductName>.NET Framework 4.0</ProductName> </BootstrapperFile> <BootstrapperFile Include="Microsoft.Windows.Installer.4.5"> <ProductName>Windows Installer 4.5</ProductName> </BootstrapperFile> </ItemGroup> and <GenerateBootstrapper ApplicationFile="MySetup.msi" ApplicationName="MyProgram" BootstrapperItems="@(BootstrapperFile)" Path="C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\Bootstrapper\" ComponentsLocation="Relative" OutputPath="$(OutputPath)" Culture="en" /> However, it's just not working.   • Visual C# GUI Designer - Recommended way of removing generated event handler-code & basic tutorial

    Hi, I'm new to the Visual C# designer so these are general and pretty basic question on how to work with the designer. When we for instance add a label to a form and then double-click on it in the Visual C# designer (I'm using Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition), the following things happen: The designer generates code within Form1.Designer.cs (assume default names for simplicity) to add the label, then with the double-click it will add the event handler label1_Click to the label within Form1.Designer.cs, using the following code this.label1.Click += new System.EventHandler(this.label1_Click); and it adds the event handler method to Form1.cs private void label1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { } If I now remove the label only the code within Form1.Designer.cs will be removed but the label1_Click method will stay within Form1.cs even if it isn't used by anything else. But if I'm using reset within Properties-Events for the Click-event from within the designer even the label1_Click method in Form1.cs will be removed. 1.) Isn't that a little inconsistent behavior? 2.) What is the recommended way of removing such generated event handler-code? 3.) What is the best "mental approach"/best practice for using the designer? I would approach it by mental separation in the way that Form1.cs is 100% my responsibility and that on the other hand I'm not touching the code in Form1.Designer.cs at all. Does that make sense or not? Since sometimes the designer removes sth. from Form1.cs I'm not sure about this. 4.) Can you recommend a simple designer tutorial that assumes no Visual C# designer knowledge but expects/doesn't explain C#.   • Properly registering JavaScript and CSS in MVC 2 Editor Templates

    How do I properly register javascript blocks in an ASP.NET MVC 2 (RTM) Editor template? The specific scenario I'm in is that I want to use Dynarch JSCal2 DateTimePicker for my standard datetime picker, but this question is in general to any reusable javascript package. I have my template working properly now but it has my JS and CSS includes in my master page and I would rather only include these things if I actually need them: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../../Content/JSCal2-1.7/jscal2.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../../Content/JSCal2-1.7/border-radius.css" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="../../Scripts/JSCal2-1.7/jscal2.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="../../Scripts/JSCal2-1.7/lang/en.js"></script> So obviously I could just put these lines into my template, but then if I have a screen that has 5 DateTimePickers, then this content would be duplicated 5 times which wouldn't be ideal. Anyways, I still want my View's Template to trigger this code being put into the <head> of my page. What I'm finding is that when I use Google's Webmaster Tools to fetch my site (to see what a GoogleBot sees) it sees this.     Good morning, everyone. I'm on a short-term contracting gig, trying to patch some vulnerabilities in their legacy code. The application I'm working on is a combination of Classic ASP(VBScript) and .Net 2.0 (C#). One of the tools they have purchased is Fortify 360. Let's say that this is a current classic ASP page in the application: <%@ Language=VBScript %> <% Dim var var = Request.QueryString("var") ' do stuff Response.Redirect "nextpage.asp?var=" & var %> I know, I know, short and very dangerous. So we wrote some (en/de)coders and validation/verification routines: <%@ Language=VBScript %> <% Dim var var = Decode(Request.QueryString("var")) ' do stuff if isValid(var) then Response.Redirect "nextpage.asp?var=" & Encode(var) else 'throw error page end if %> And still Fortify flags this as vulnerable to Header Manipulation. How or what exactly is Fortify looking for? The reason I suspect that Fortify is looking for specific key words is that on the .Net side of things, I can include the Microsoft AntiXss assembly and call functions such as GetSafeHtmlFragment and UrlEncode and Fortify is happy. Any advice?

    I want to grab a user's uploads (ie: BBC) and limit the output to 10 per page. Whilst I can use the following URL: http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/bbc/uploads/?start-index=1&max-results=10 The above works okay. I want to use the query method instead: The Zend Framework docs: http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/zend.gdata.youtube.html State that I can retrieve videos uploaded by a user, but ideally I want to use the query method to limit the results for a pagination. The query method is on the Zend framework docs (same page as before under the title 'Searching for videos by metadata') and is similar to this: [code] $yt = new Zend_Gdata_YouTube(); $query = $yt-newVideoQuery(); $query-setTime('today'); $query-setMaxResults(10); $videoFeed = $yt-getUserUploads( NULL, $query ); // Output print ''; foreach($videoFeed as $video): print '' . $video-title .     I'm trying to read a PDB file into a C# application. When I call loadDataFromPdb or loadAndValidateDataFromPdb with a file that I know exists, I get an HRESULT of 0x806D0005. Unfortunately, I have no idea what that means. I have the list of possible results [here](http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/2008hf0e(v=VS.80).aspx) but I'm afraid I can't conclusively determine the problem. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Or at least a method of checking what that corresponds to?     I'm trying to spoof Opera (under linux) to be an other browser, in this case iPad for some testing purposes. Now I know sites can check which browser is accessing the using for example in PHP $useragent = $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']; and in javascript navigator.userAgent (or navigator.platform). In firefox you can use an addon to easily switch your useragent and other relevant information, but in Opera it seems it bit hard to do. First in opera.ini you can do: [User Agent] Spoof UserAgent ID=1 But this is limited to a predefined list of UserAgents. No room for custom ones. Also in opera.ini [ISP] Id=iPad This will add iPad to the User Agent of Opera. It's a start and works most of the time on the sites. In opera.ini you can set a 'User JavaScript file' to load a custom JavaScript file before loading a website: [User Prefs] User JavaScript File=/opera_dir/userjs/load.js In load.js you can do: navigator.userAgent = "Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; U; CPU OS 3_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/531.21.10 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.4 Mobile/7B334b Safari/531.21.10" Because this file gets executed before loading the website I can modify the UserAgent, but this won't work when a site is checking the UserAgent via PHP, but it works for sites checking with Javascript) So here's my question: is there another way of spoofing a complete custom UserAgent?

    We're using a FileStreamResult to provide video data to a Silverlight MediaElement based video player: public ActionResult Preview(Guid id) { return new FileStreamResult( Services.AssetStore.GetStream(id, ContentType.Preview), "application/octet-stream"); } Unfortunately, the Silverlight video player downloads the entire video file before it starts playing. This behavior is expected as our Preview Action does not support downloading partial content. (side note: if the file is hosted in an IIS virtual directory we can start playback at any location in the video while it is still downloading. however for security and auditing reasons we can't provide a direct download link. so this is not an option.) How can we improve the Controller Action to support partial HTTP content? I assume we first have to inform the client that we support it (adding an "Accept-Ranges:bytes" header to a HEAD request), then we have to evaluate the HTTP "Range" header and stream the requested file range with a response code of 206. Will that work with ASP.NET MVC hosted on IIS6? Is there already some code available?   • HTML5 video (mp4 and ogv) problems in Safari and Firefox - but Chrome is all good

    Hi folks, I have the following code: <video width="640" height="360" controls id="video-player" poster="/movies/poster.png"> <source src="/movies/640x360.m4v" type='video/mp4; codecs="avc1.42E01E, mp4a.40.2"'> <source src="/movies/640x360.ogv" type='video/ogg; codecs="theora, vorbis"'> </video> I'm using Rails (Mongrel in development and Mongrel+Apache in production). Chrome (Mac and Win) can play either file (tested by one then the other source tags) whether locally or from my production servers. Safari (Mac and Win) can play the mp4 file fine locally but not from production. Firefox 3.6 won't play the video in either OS. I just get a grey cross in the middle of the video player area. I've made sure that both Mongrel and Apache in each case have the right MIME types set. From Chrome's results I know there is nothing inherently wrong with my video files or the way the files are being asked for or delivered. Anyone got any clues? Or even a clue as to how to diagnose the problem? For Firefox I looked at https://developer.mozilla.org/En/Using_audio_and_video_in_Firefox where it refers to an 'error' event and an 'error' attribute. It seems the 'error' event is thrown pretty well straightaway and at that time there is no error attribute. Very helpful... :( Help enormously appreciated! Thanks in advance... Chris
