• jQuery datepicker returns "inst is null" error when loaded via AJAX

  I'm loading content via an AJAX call into a table row added to the DOM on the fly. I'm calling the datepicker functionality in my callback function and the calendar shows fine. However, when I click on the date, I get an error: inst is null.   I just downloaded jQuery UI Tabs. In the included index.html file, it works fine, CSS and all, with no customization. I copied the files over to my web server, keeping the directory structure intact, and copied the content code to my already-existing index.html, but it does not work. • How to configure a GridView CommandField to trigger Full Page Update in UpdatePanel

  I have 2 user controls on my page. One is used for searching, and the other is used for editing (along with a few other things). The user control that provides the search functionality uses a GridView to display the search results. This GridView has a CommandField used for editing (showEditButton="true"). I would like to place the GridView into an UpdatePanel so that paging through the search results will be smooth. The thing is that when the user clicks the Edit Link (the CommandField) I need to preform a full page postback so that the search user control can be hidden and the edit user control can be displayed. Edit: the reason I need to do a full page postback is because the edit user control is outside of the UpdatePanel that my GridView is in. It is not only outside the UpdatePanel, but it's in a completely different user control. I have no idea how to add the CommandField as a full page postback trigger to the UpdatePanel. The PostBackTrigger (which is used to indicate the controls cause a full page postback) takes a ControlID as a parameter; however the CommandButton does not have an ID...and you can see why I'm having a problem with this. Update on what else I've tried to solve the problem: I took a new approach to solving the problem. In my new approach, I used a TemplateField instead of a CommandField. I placed a LinkButton control in the TemplateField and gave it a name. During the GridView's RowDataBound event I retrieved the LinkButton control and added it to the UpdatePanel's Triggers. This is the ASP Markup for the UpdatePanel and the GridView <asp:UpdatePanel ID="SearchResultsUpdateSection" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:GridView ID="SearchResultsGrid" runat="server" AllowPaging="true" AutoGenerateColumns="false"> <Columns> <asp:TemplateField> <HeaderTemplate></HeaderTemplate> <ItemTemplate> <asp:LinkButton ID="Edit" runat="server" Text="Edit"></asp:LinkButton> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> <asp:BoundField ...... </Columns> </asp:GridView> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> In my VB.NET code. I implemented a function that handles the GridView's RowDataBound event. In this method I find the LinkButton for the row being bound to, create a PostBackTrigger for the LinkButton, and add it to the UpdatePanel's Triggers. This means that a PostBackTrigger is created for every "edit" LinkButton in the GridView Edit: this did not create a PostBackTrigger for Every "edit" LinkButton because the ID is the same for all LinkButtons in the GridView. Private Sub SearchResultsGrid_RowCommand(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewCommandEventArgs) Handles SearchResultsGrid.RowCommand RaiseEvent EditRecord(Me, New EventArgs()) End Sub This new approach didn't work at all because all of the LinkButtons in the GridView have the same ID. After reading the MSDN article on the UpdatePanel.Triggers Property I have the impression that Triggers can only be defined declaratively.   I am designing a WIX 3.6 installer project, during the installation we need to grand the user create file permission to the install folder(INSTALLDIR, especially with the default install folder, the Program Files, the user normally can't create file in the installation. We've experienced some failures). I guess it can be achieved by setting a Permission element, with CreateFile property. However, the INSTALLDIR is a directory, and only such elements as CreateFolder, File, FileShare, Registry, ServiceInstall can have permission element. So could anyone tell me how to do that?   Hello I have a sign up form that is displayed to all new site visitors. If a user fills out the form, the next time they visit the site, I would like to display a "welcome back" message where the form would usually sit. I am trying to do this via the jquery cookie plugin (http://plugins.jquery.com/project/Cookie).   In my Android project, I want to loop through the entire collection of Drawable resources. Normally, you can only retrieve a specific resource via its ID using something like: InputStream is = Resources.getSystem().openRawResource(resourceId) However, I want to get all Drawable resources where I won't know their ID's beforehand. Is there a collection I can loop through or perhaps a way to get the list of resource ID's given the resources in my project? Or, is there a way for me in Java to extract all property values from the R.drawable static class?

• Linear Layout and weight in Android

  I always read about this funny weight value in the Android documentations. Now I want to try it for the first time but it isn't working at all.   I created new web project using VS 2008 with enabled Ajax template with C# and Framework 3.5. I added Ajax reference to the project and I can see all Ajax toolkit in my tool box. • Ruby on Rails simple_navigation Gem

  I'm using the simple_navigation gem with RoR 2.3.5 It all seems to work correctly, I followed the info in the RDoc (seen here http://rdoc.info/projects/mexpolk/simple_navigation) However, when I actually render out the simple_navigation menu on my main application.html.erb file it escapes all of the html in it (multiple escapes actually). I end up with junk like this which in a browser ends up with all kinds of disjointed text and ["\ things everywhere. <ul class="simple_navigation" depth="0" id="simple_navigation_default"> ["<li class=\"menu\" drop_down=\"true\" id=\"simple_navigation_default_menus_home\"><a href=\"/home\">Wellcome</a><ul depth=\"1\" id=\"simple_navigation_default_menus_home_menus\"> [\"<li class=\\\"menu\\\" drop_down=\\\"false\\\" id=\\\"simple_navigation_default_menus_home_menus_settings\\\"><a href=\\\"/home/settings\\\">Appliction Settings</a></li>\"] </ul> </li>"] What am I doing wrong?   Hi, I have a problem with parameters replacing by Spring JdbcTemplate. So if the user is brasilian I'd send him the column pt_br from the table fix_i18n, otherwise if he's american I'd send him the column en_us. What I get from this method is a PostgreSQL exception org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: ERROR: syntax error at or near "$1" If I replace fi.? with just ? (the column name of the locale is unique, so if I run this query in the database it works just fine) what I get is that every object returned from method has the string locale into the field name. I.e. in name field I have "en_us". Can you please help me as to what i am doing wrong. And yes if i send just batchProgressMetricsList.get(0) in MAV it just works fine.

• Change Edit Control Block (ECB) Link URL in SharePoint

  Is there a way to dynamically change the hyperlink associated with an ECB menu in WSS 3.0? For instance, I have a list with 2 fields. One field is hidden and is a link, the other is the title field which has the ECB menu. The title field currently links to the item's view page - but we want it to link to the link-field's url. Can I get the actual item's GUID here? If I can get the item's ID I can send it with the list ID to an application page that will get the right URL from field in the list and forward the user on to the right site.

• Using bindings to control column order in a DataGrid

  Problem I have a WPF Toolkit DataGrid, and I'd like to be able to switch among several preset column orders. This is an MVVM project, so the column orders are stored in a ViewModel. The problem is, I can't get bindings to work for the DisplayIndex property. No matter what I try, including the sweet method in this Josh Smith tutorial, I get: The DisplayIndex for the DataGridColumn with Header 'ID' is out of range. DisplayIndex must be greater than or equal to 0 and less than Columns.Count. Parameter name: displayIndex. Actual value was -1. Is there any workaround for this? I'm including my test code below. Please let me know if you see any problems with it. Update 5/1/2010 I was just doing a little maintenance on my project, and I noticed that when I ran it, the problem I discuss in this post had returned. I knew that it worked last time I ran it, so I eventually narrowed the problem down to the fact that I had installed a newer version of the WPF Toolkit (Feb '10). When I reverted to the June '09 version, everything worked fine again. So, I'm now doing something I should have done in this first place: I'm including the WPFToolkit.dll that works in my solution folder and checking it into version control. It's unfortunate, though, that the newer toolkit has a breaking change.

  I've a java process that is working on some large data set in memory. I've seen it crash with a SIGSEGV signal sometimes, so i was wondering some potential causes and fixes could do.
