  Can't access from my Same comp to same comp to test if all is ok. Tried all mentioned posibilities. Tryd my ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx / localhost with / without :5900 added with / without in "Remote desktop" checked "Configure network automatically to accept connection" with / without in router WRT54G enabled port 5900 forwardet to my comp 192.168.1.3 UPNP is enabled. I can connect to one other comp whitch isn't using router and checked "Configure network automatically to accept connection" and to one through TENDA W311R+ router where i've put port forwarding to 5900 and there works xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:5900 What's wrong? What have i missed?

• Configuring Network without Default Gateway

  I'm trying to connect my desktop and laptop using an ethernet connection. I usually configure network from the command line but this time I decided to give Network Manager a try, so I went to Network Connections, and selected manual IP configuration. At first I left the default gateway field blank, since I don't need a default gateway. Turned out network manager doesn't let me save the connection unless I enter that field, but entering a phony gateway messes up with my Internet connection. Anyway to do this setup?

• After deploying services I get incorrect public adress

• Frame rate on one of two machines running same code seems to be capped at 60 for no reason

  ISSUE I recently moved a project from my laptop to my desktop(machine info below). On my laptop the exact same code displays the fps(and ms/f) correctly. On my desktop it does not. What I mean by this is on the laptop it will display 300 fps(for example) where on my desktop it will show only up to 60. If I add 100 objects to the game on the laptop I'll see my frame rate drop accordingly; the same test on the desktop results in no change and the frames stay at 60. It takes a lot(~300) entities before I'll see a frame drop on the desktop, then it will descend. It seems as though its "theoretical" frames would be 400 or 500 but will never actually get to that and only do 60 until there's too much to handle at 60. This 60 frame cap is coming from no where. I'm not doing any frame limiting myself. It seems like something external is limiting my loop iterations on the desktop, but for the last couple days I've been scratching my head trying to figure out how to debug this. SETUPS Desktop: Visual Studio Express 2012 Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Laptop: Visual Studio Express 2010 Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit The libraries(allegro, box2d) are the same versions on both setups. Where I'm at My understanding of al_get_time() is that it can return different resolutions depending on the system. However the resolution is never worse than seconds, and the double is represented as [seconds].[finer-resolution] and seeing as I'm only checking for a whole second al_get_time() shouldn't be responsible. My project settings and compiler options are the same. And I promise its the same code on both machines. My googling really didn't help me much, and although technically it's not that big of a deal. I'd really like to figure this out or perhaps have it explained, whichever comes first. Even just an idea of how to go about figuring out possible causes, because I'm out of ideas. Any help at all is greatly appreciated.

• Broadcom bcm4313 Ubuntu 13.10 connection time out

  After upgrading to Ubuntu 13.10 I keep getting connection timed out every few seconds at which point i have to disconnect and reconnect to the WiFi network. • DHCP won't start / subnetting

  I recently changed the IP address on an Ubuntu 12.04 server I have in my lab, which is running isc-dhcp-server. After doing so and modifying the dhcpd.conf file, my dhcp service would not start. I basically used the same configuration, except I modified everything to use /25 scopes rather than /24. When I try to start / restart the service, I see the following: MY@ubuntuserver:~$ sudo service isc-dhcp-server restart stop: Unknown instance: isc-dhcp-server start/running, process 20918 It looks like it starts, but it isn't actually running and Webmin states that the DHCP service is not running. So my question is, does isc-dhcp-server support subnetting (CIDR) style scopes, or must they be class A / B / C scopes (doesn't seem likely)? I've double checked the interface reference (this is a VM with only one defined eth0 interface) and everything else I can thing of.

• Web hosting announced downtime and how it affects FORWARD domain names?

  Our web hosting provider that holds our FORWARD domain names announced that at some point in the next couple weeks they will be migrating servers and that this will cause a 5-10 minute downtime at some point in that week during what happens to be our core business hours. They cite for technical reasons it is impossible to give an exact date or time when this downtime will occur. My questions are: If my domains are set to FORWARD to a static IP on servers not hosted by the web hosting provider in question then will this affect the DNS servers correctly routing to my website? Are their legitimate technical reasons for such a wide window of time, or could this just be a blanket statement to cover laziness in not being more organized with their server migrations? Are such downtimes normal for web hosting providers, or should I start to consider other providers?

  I need to send server reports to myself from my remote servers, and I don't mind them going to spam, so I don't need SPF, DKIM, etc. I tried using mailutils to send something like this: uptime | mail -s "uptime" [email protected], but the emails don't go through. In /var/mail/root I received a message saying the HELO was invalid. So then I tried also adding -r root@my-ip, and now I don't get any error messages but I don't receive the email either. How can I do this?

• Ubuntu 12.10 WiFi Problems

  I have a 32 bit machine running Ubuntu 12.10 with WiFi on it. I have a WPA2 network at home, but if I leave the USB Adapter plugged in while it boots, it infinitely keeps asking for the network password but never connects. If I plug it in after boot, it will connect but then I can't access ANYTHING on the LAN or Internet because "the DNS servers are unreachable". Now, if I leave the computer on a while, I get lucky sometimes and it MAGICALLY decides to connect for a little bit, lock the machine though and the Internet's gone again. The weirdest thing, is when I am connected but can't get to the internet, I do a netstat or ifconfig wlan0, I do have an IP address and everything. It says I'm connected but its not. I have a Realtek RTL8188CU USB adapter.

• Adding a 'network' USB printer

  I have a HP Deskjet 1050a printer, hence the 'network' in the title. Its a bog standard USB home printer. I have it attached to my router (has a USB port in it). I have got it connected and working to with Win8 PC and also a MacBook Air. Can't seem to get it to add as a printer to my Xubuntu laptop(s). It doesn't get detected automatically (not an actual network printer) and i've tried multiple options to get it working. It seems to add it but when printing a test page its saying the printer isn't connected. Ping works fine so it can see it, just can't add it as a printer. With Win8 I had to create a port with the IP of the printer (192.168.1.253 in this case), is there an Ubuntu alternative to do this?

• why does our network printer not show up on some of our macs, but does show up on others? [on hold]

  We lost power in our building and now cannot get our HP laser jet 5200 to be recognized by half of our computers. We are all Macs, some running OS 10.7.5 can see the printer, others running 10.7.5 cannot, and those running 10.8.5 and 10.9 cannot. We've re-booted the router, turned off and on printer and macs—no go. The printer displays an IP address (dynamically assigned) but we can't access it. Tried to see it using CUPS—same story, can see it on some systems, not on others. Any thoughts?

When I log in to konsoleh, I see which IP-address it points to at the moment, but not where I can change it. Does anyone know how to do it? Thanks! Solution I called Hetzner support. It was because I had to log in with my client id, not with my domain. Then I could just click on the A-record and edit it.

• Rsyslog problem after ubuntu upgrade 10.4 to 12.4

  I was using Ubuntu 10.4 until last week for storing the log informations of a external device with rsyslog. After upgrading to ubuntu 12.4 the logging of TCP doesn't works anymore. (There are just no pakets visible - not even with tcpdump - aold ubuntu machine still sees the pakets.) UDP works with the identical configuration on the ubuntu machine and a "use UDP" on the external device. Are there any changes in rsyslog, that could explain this? • Google search preview shows content not on the website

  My website google search entry is messed up. In the preview in google search results, I get things like cracks, serials, random ip addresses. I scanned all files and my computer for viruses and malware and could not find anything. I also tried to download and reupload all content from a friend's computer and still that content persists. I also scanned the source code of all files, but the content does not appear in any file. Google also does not detect any malware on the website, as seen in their webmaster tools. I have searched using the same keywords in other search engines such as bing and yahoo and the search results there are fine. I am quite clueless as to what the causes would be for this and what would be a possible remedy.

I tried to add my enterprise email address to evolution mail, I tried both server types exchange mapi and microsoft exchange. With exchange mapi i get this error message "Authentication failed. MapiLogonProvider: Failed to login into the server" With Microsoft Exchange I get this error "Could not connect to server . Make sure the URL is correct and try again." • How to recover organic position in Google results after server down?

  I have several sites that were doing quite well in terms of organic SEO rankings. I have the important sites setup in Google's Webmaster tools. Long story short, the system was down for about two weeks. Now in AdSense and Analytics, I am seeing that the page views are SLOWLY increasing. and I would like to know if there is anything I can do now to try to expedite the process of regaining those positions. Since there were several errors from that server, is it possible that Google will now rank any site from that IP address lower due to those two weeks of errors? • Site inaccessible by some people, fine for others [on hold]

  A couple of days ago my website www.howellphoto.com (hosted by one.com, wordpress site) started loading really slowly, and I have been unable to access any pages linked from the homepage. Several of my friends have found the same issue, yet many are able to access the site without problem. Live support at one.com have not been all that much help, requesting the ip addresses of a few people who cannot access the site, and saying it could be a firewall issue. Wordpress support (my site was created in prophotoblogs) have been better and have updated all plugins, etc, but can see no issue from their end. My main issue is that even if there was a local fix that I could do on my computer, this would not help wih any potential customers visiting my site for information! This is driving me crazy!!! • Transfer a ssh session between the same physical devices from one network to another

  My server has 2 IP addresses via two networks. Due to some restrictions,my client will be able to access only one of the network at a time. Hence, I want a way to transfer a live ssh session with all the open applications seamlessly from one network to another. The physical devices (client and the server) are the same.
