  • PHP> Sort query results by name while letting each letter be on the top sometimes

    Hi, I'm currently working on a site that will display a list of online shops, Each shop will be stored on my database and I'll be using PHP to select and display them. But since those shops will pay me, I want to let each shop to be on the top of the list sometimes, (for example if the shop name starts with a "Z", they will probably complain for being on the bottom of the list all the time, so I want to keep it fair). So I thought about letting each letter be on the top of the list for an hour, but i have no idea how to do that.. Is that even possible? Thanks in advance!

  • jQuery AutoComplete with three levels of suggestions?

    I am building a django based application and its time to add the DHTML stuff. One of my fields represent a database field with this format databaseName.tableName.fieldName I would like to have javascript autocompletion in three levels, say once I type part of the database names I get a list of all matching databases, one that is selected I get a list of all tables, and once that is selected I get a list of all fields in that table, all in the same textfield.     This is a Flex 4 application: I have created a list as the following: <s:List id="previewList" horizontalCenter="14" verticalCenter="-112" itemRendererFunction="listItemRendererFunction" click="controller.previewListClickHandler()"> </s:List> And I have the itemRendererFunction: public function listItemRendererFunction(item:Object):ClassFactory { var cla:Class = SimpleItemRenderer; if( item.save == true ) { cla = ColorItemRenderer; } else { cla = SimpleItemRenderer; } return new ClassFactory(cla); } The application works fine if the listItemRendererFunction is inside fx:Script. However, when I put the listItemRendererFunction into a class and change to the following: itemRendererFunction="controller.listItemRendererFunction" in the List component. If I run the application, I get the " Error #1009". Please advice how to fix it.

This tooltip doesn't belong to this list, it is in other div. Now, when i move mouse over that div, i get an alert - i left the list.     What is more efficient way to make methods return IList<T> or IEnumerable<T>? IEnumerable<T> it is immutable collection but IList<T> mutable and contain a lot of useful methods and properties. To cast IList<T> to IEnumerable<T> it is just reference copy: IList<T> l = new List<T>(); IEnumerable<T> e = l; To cast IEnumerable<T> to List<T> we need to iterate each element or to call ToList() method: IEnumerable<T>.ToList(); or may pass IEnumerable<T> to List<T> constructor which doing the same iteration somewhere within its constructor. List<T> l = new List<T>(e); Which cases you think is more efficient? Which you prefer more in your practice?

    Ok so I am very new to html and the web. Right now I am trying to generate list items on the fly and then have them post back to the web server so I know what the person is trying to obtain.     Hi, I have two list boxes and some JQuery function that does the following: $(document).ready(function () { //If you want to move selected item from fromListBox to toListBox $("#AddButton").click(function () { $("#fromListBox option:selected").appendTo("#toListBox"); }); }); I have a button that when clicked moves items from one list to another. This works, however when I do "View Page Source" in chrome, the list contains the original list and not the newly added items. I expected appendTo to change the DOM but clearly this is not what is happening. Why is this? JD

  • Sorting in Lua, counting number of items

    Two quick questions (I hope...) with the following code. The script below checks if a number is prime, and if not, returns all the factors for that number, otherwise it just returns that the number prime. Pay no attention to the zs. stuff in the script, for that is client specific and has no bearing on script functionality. The script itself works almost wonderfully, except for two minor details - the first being the factor list doesn't return itself sorted... that is, for 24, it'd return 1, 2, 12, 3, 8, 4, 6, and 24 instead of 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, and 24. I can't print it as a table, so it does need to be returned as a list. If it has to be sorted as a table first THEN turned into a list, I can deal with that. All that matters is the end result being the list. The other detail is that I need to check if there are only two numbers in the list or more. If there are only two numbers, it's a prime (1 and the number). The current way I have it does not work. Is there a way to accomplish this?   • Cached data accessed by reference?

    I am running into an odd problem, and this is the only thing I can think of. I'm storing a list in cache, and I am randomly losing items from my list as users use the site. I have a class that is called that either goes to cache and returns the list from there, or if the cache is over a certain time frame old, it goes to the database and refreshes the cache. So when I pull the data from cache, this is what it looks like.... results = (List<Software>)cache["software"]; And then I return results and do some processing, filter for security, and eventually it winds up on the screen. For each Software record, there can be multiple resources attached to it, and based on how the security goes they may see some, all, or none of the records. So in the security check it will remove some of those resources from the software record. So my question is.... when I return my results list, is it a reference directly to the cache object? So when I remove a resource from the software object, it is really removing from cache as well? If that is the case, is there any way to not return it as a reference? Thanks!

So it must not be part of the result. Now I want a view that returns the content elements including the right order. The result could be: { "content" : ["second", "first"] } In this case the order of the elements is already as it should be. Can you correct my mistakes and write a reduce function? Remember that the third document must not be part of the result. Of course you can write a different map function also. But the structure of the documents (one definig element document and an entry document for each entry) cannot be changed.

  • How would I initialize these two lists so that modifying one doesn't modify the other?

    I'm aware of why this is happening, but is there any way to do this without having to implement ICloneable or a Copy() method? Preferably .net 2.0, but 3.5 is fine if it is necessary. Essentially I'm trying to implement an undo method. In most cases I can just perform the reverse action in the Undo(), but for others that is not possible. So I want to keep two lists. One for the list of items that I will be modifying, and one for the original, unmodified list of items. This way if I need to do an undo, I just delete the modified items and replace them with the originals. Most of the ways I've tried to assign the _originalItems variable doesn't work, so what would I need to do? public MyClass(List<SelectedItems> selectedItems) { _selectedItems = new List<SelectedItems>(selectedItems); _originalItems = ?? }

  • Java Persistence: Cast to something the result of Query.getResultList() ?

    Hey everyone, I'm new to persistence / hibernate and I need your help. Here's the situation. I have a table that contains some stuff. Let's call them Persons. I'd like to get all the entries from the database that are in that table. I have a Person class that is a simple POJO with a property for each column in the table (name, age,..) Here's what I have : Query lQuery = myEntityManager.createQuery("from Person") List<Person> personList = lQuery.getResultList(); However, I get a warning saying that this is an unchecked conversion from List to List<Person> I thought that simply changing the code to Query lQuery = myEntityManager.createQuery("from Person") List<Person> personList = (List<Person>)lQuery.getResultList(); would work.. but it doesn't. Is there a way to do this ? Does persistence allow me to set the return type of the query ? (Through generics maybe ? )
