  • RegCreateKeyEx - does it update the returned handle on failure?

    MSDN documentation seems silent on whether RegCreateKeyEx ever updates the value of the handle referred to by its second-last parameter when it fails. My tests have only shown it not to update this - i.e., I set h = 0 before the call, pass &h to a call to RegCreateKeyEx to open a non-existent key, and see h = 0 after the call. Does anyone know of any situation in which the handle would be changed?

    If I am on a website#1, and I enter my username/pwd for website#2 on a login page that is on website#1, and website#1, behind the scenes, makes a httpwebrequest to website#2 and posts to the login page. If I then navigate to website#2, should I be logged in? website#2 uses formsauthentication and I call a httpHandler that is on website#2 and pass it the username/password via the querystring. Should this work?

    I have a non-apache web server running on port 8000, but this cannot be accessed from behind corporate firewalls. So, I would like to use my apache 2 server as a proxy to this other web server. I've tried using: RewriteEngine On RewriteRule /.* http://buildbot.synergy-foss.org:8000/builders/ [PT] ... but this does not work; I get: Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. However, it worked fine with [R]. Update: Also, when using ProxyPass, I get this error: Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server.

    I've got code that takes a PIL image and converts it to a ctypes array to pass out to a C function: w_px, h_px = img.size pixels = struct.unpack('%dI'%(w_px*h_px), img.convert('RGBA').tostring()) pixels_array = (ctypes.c_int * len(pixels))(*pixels) But I'm dealing with big images, and unpacking that many items into function arguments seems to be noticeably slow. What's the simplest thing I can do to get a reasonable speedup? I'm only converting to a tuple as an intermediate step, so if it's unnecessary, all the better.

  • Why is .NET Post different from CURL? broken?

    I dont understand this. I ran this code below and the result json string was the link is expired (meaning invalid). However the curl code does the exact same thing and works. I either get the expected string with the url or it says i need to wait (for a few seconds to 1 minute). Why? whats the difference between the two? It looks very F%^&*ed up that it is behaving differently (its been causing me HOURS of problems). NOTE: the only cookie required by the site is SID (tested). It holds your session id. The first post activates it and the 2nd command checks the status with the returning json string. Feel free to set the CookieContainer to only use SID if you like. WARNING: you may want to change SID to a different value so other people arent activating it. Your may want to run the 2nd url to ensure the session id is not used and says expired/invalid before you start. additional note: with curl or in your browser if you do the POST command you can stick the sid in .NET cookie container and the 2nd command will work. But doing the first command (the POST data) will not work. This post function i have used for many other sites that require post and so far it has worked.     I updated some entries in the hosts file "C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc" to make google for example point to 127.0.0.1 # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol. # # For example: # # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host 127.0.0.1 localhost ::1 localhost 127.0.0.1 google.com This works fine under windows Vista, but not under Widows 7. When I type google, it goes directly to Google's website. For info, I am not using a proxy server. I think there are some temporary DNS settings that must be flushed, but I don't know how, anyone knows how to fix this? Thank you.

    Lets say, i want to restrict a file to my visitors. I mean , i have an xx.avi file to be streamed/downloaded, and the visitor paid me for the bandwidth and the size of the file. In amazon s3, i cant control the file at all .(there is a very basic control thing which is not ok for me) Only way is my server can proxy the file, like it fetches the file from amazon s3 storagenode and send it to the owner with authentication approval by a php script. But this way i would double up the bandwidth usage and again there would be latency problem since my server needs to get the file from amazon s3. So i was wondering if there is a better solution or any cloud storage service that lets us to control the file restriction to my visitors. Thanks

    I have a front end server acting as a gateway proxy for many (a dynamic 'many') building monitors with embedded webservers. They are accessed with a URL like: http://www.example.com/monitor1/ http://www.example.com/monitor2/ ... I'm trying to restrict access to these monitors to only the users that own them. So what I need is a way of specifying rights to users or groups for specific directories. The standard auth mechanisms I see in Apache won't work because I need to specify every location. I'd prefer some dynamic map or script. Any suggestions?

    I have an ActionResult returning from a strongly typed view where I manually validate some conditions, pass in an error message, but would like to preserve the users responses. Since my View is strongly typed, I am calling it like this: return View("PrincipalInvestigatorForm", new SmartFormViewModel(sections, questions)); My problem though, is that the error message is displayed but all the users data is wiped. How do I preserve the "ViewState" in MVC? Is there an easy way?

  • Disable address bar in Internet Explorer 9

    I'm trying to disable the address bar in IE9. I've done a significant amount of searching on this and just can't seem to find a way to make it happen. A lot of web resources discuss how to do it in IE8, but not IE9. The reason you might ask? I have an application being hosted in a remote desktop farm that links to web pages outside of the application into Internet Explorer. I need to ensure users are limited to just going to the pages the program pushes them to. I realize I could use a proxy server to limit where they can go, but I'm trying to find a really simple way to just disable the address bar instead. I can't use Kiosk mode because it puts the browser into full screen mode. This won't work for my situation as I need to give users what appears to be a regular browsing experience without an address bar.

I dont want to pass DataTable as parameter as it is newbie programming. Could you pls help me learn some more advance features. I searched over it and got to Func< delegate but could not come up with a solution.

However, when I tried using send(grid) I get a TypeError: send() argument 1 must be string or read-only buffer, not instance.
