I'm using RHEL 5.3, shipped with gcc 4.1.2 and boost 1.33.
So, there's no boost::unorded_map, no make_shared() factory function to create boost::shared_ptr and other features available in newer releases of boost.
Is there're a newer version of boost compatible with the version of gcc?
If yes, how the upgrade is performed?
We use a fucking ridiculous amount of goddamn bandwith man. It really pisses me off because now I have to fucking upgrade my goddamn account and my site doesn't make jack shit for money.
So how the fuck can I automatically reduce the whitespace and shit? I'm GZipping the output already.
I really want to upgrade to Visual Studio 2010. But since I do a lot of development for the Pocket PC version of Windows Mobile I cannot. (I develop for a Symbol device that does not support Windows Phone 7, so that is not a option.)
Does any one know any kind of time frame of when Microsoft plans to add support for Smart Device Projects into Visual Studio 2010
Can I separate merged model into source parts? Need to do it for reason of upgrade to new versions my every or not every source part of db. It must work under 10.5, so i cant use inferredMappingModelForSourceModel.

I am using VS2008, and planning to upgrade to VS2010 next March hopefully.
I'm working on an upgrade project and build management is done in Maven 1.0.2. Java version will change to J2SE 5.
Please include in your answer if you have first hand experience on that particular combination (Maven 1.0.2 and J2SE 5)
Thanks

I want to parse a timestamp from a log file that has been written via
datetime.datetime.now().strftime('%Y%m%d%H%M%S')
and then compute the number of seconds that have passed since this timestamp.
I know I could do it with datetime.datetime.strptime to get back a datetime object and then compute a timedelta. Problem is, the strptime function has been introduced with Python 2.5 and I'm using Python2.4.4 (an upgrade is not possible in my context).
Any easy way to do this?
I'm working on the upgrade of my c# visual express 2008 project to a newer version.
How do I manage this without having to copy the whole project directory and work into the copied directory project?
Hope made myself clear
thanks
Why is it that I have to upgrade to VS 2010 to build/run .NET4 projects? This seems somewhat ridiculous to me. Why should the run-time that my code runs against, or the compiler that the IDE invokes (hopefully) generically through MSBUILD rules have anything to do with the IDE I am using?
Hi. We're building a site and wish to build for the same set of browsers Google Apps/Docs and YouTube support. Though not recommended, they seem to be detecting specific browsers/versions vs. features/functionality. What's the best way to support a minimum set of browsers while displaying a message to the users of older browsers to upgrade? What's the minimum set of browsers that the major sites are supporting? Thanks.
Hi there
We've been developing apps since .NET 2 release and not we are planning to upgrade to .NET 3.5. What is the best approach upgrading from .NET 2.00 to 3.5?
BTW ... the external components that we use are:
1. EntitySpace - ORM
2. Microsoft Enterprise Library
3. Microsoft ReportingViewer 9
I am appreciated your feedback.

I'm working with an older version of Rails and ActiveRecord that does not have the :primary_key option in has_many relationships of more recent ActiveRecord versions and unfortunately I don't get to control when we upgrade. Is there any way to hack this solution via :conditions or :finder_sql options?
Can anyone help me on how this error arises?
My previous version of MySql.dll is 1.0.7.30072 then I have upgrade my MySql.dll version into 1.0.10.1 to prevent opening new MySql transaction when the previous transaction is not yet committed.. Is it the error arises because of the new dll?
Using Oracle 10g. ( 10.2.0.4 )
Possibly by looking at either logs or system tables is there a way to determine which version of the oracle client each connection is using.
Our systems initially had 8.1.7 Clients, and then 9.X clients.
We attempted to manually locate all machines that had older clients and upgrade them to to 10.2 Clients.
We are seeking a method to audit (from the server) if we were successful in upgrading all of our client machines.

/Subversion noob
I had installed the trial version of Visual Studio 2008. I decided to
uninstall it and install the licensed version I just purchased.
However, no matter what I try, the installation will not change from the trial to using my new license. I have completely removed the Visual Studio, but still it will not upgrade.
What can I do beside reformat my machine? (yeah right, like this is gonna happen)
I'm building a little script that will connect to an IMAP account and grab the content of the email and also the attachments. It works well for the most part, but when a really large file comes in, it causes the script to time out. Is there any way that I can check the file size before trying to grab it? I think that would be the simplest solution. Otherwise, I may have to upgrade to a server that has more memory.
Is there any method or plugin available that will alert the user to upgrade an app if the version they are using is not the latest? I suppose I could ping a web service to check what the current version is and compare with the user's version and go from there. As an aside, is there a way to check the current version of the app (some property I don't know about) or do you simply have to hardcode the version as some float variable or something?
Thanks
Are there any fixes for this?
This issue effects a machine recently upgraded to sp3 from sp2.
CSS images and backgrounds not rendered on yahoo mail or wellingtonpeoplescentre.org.nz.
IE8 is a recent upgrade from IE7.
FF3.6.3 is a fresh install. firebug proves .css is received by FF3.
Owner is kind of freaked by what she is seeing.
Was wondering if any C++ programmers have tried out the VSTD2010? If so, is there anything new that will help us (unmanaged) C++ programmers become more productive? Anything that Visual Assist X is not already doing? =p Or anything in particular that would want me to upgrade from VSTD2008?
