  • UITableViewCell rounded corners and clip subviews

    I can't find anything anywhere(search engines, docs, here, etc) that shows how to create rounded corners (esp. in a grouped table view) on an element that also clips the subviews. I have code that properly creates a rounded rectangle out of a path with 4 arcs(the rounded corners) that has been tested in the drawRect: method in my subclassed uitableviewcell. The issue is that the subviews, which happen to be uibuttons with their internal uiimageviews, do no obey the CGContextClip() that the uitableviewcell obeys.     I've configured a db w/ a FileStream group and have a table w/ File type on it. When attempting to insert a streamed file and after I create the table row, my query to read the filepath out and the buffer returns a null file path. I can't seem to figure out why though.     Here is my sample abstract singleton class: public abstract class A { protected static A instance; public static A getInstance() { return instance; } //...rest of my abstract methods... } And here is the concrete implementation: public class B extends A { private B() { } static { instance = new B(); } //...implementations of my abstract methods... } Unfortunately I can't get the static code in class B to execute, so the instance variable never gets set. I have tried this: Class c = B.class; A.getInstance() - returns null; and this ClassLoader.getSystemClassLoader().loadClass("B"); A.getInstance() - return null; Running both these in the eclipse debugger the static code never gets executed. The only way I could find to get the static code executed is to change the accessibility on B's constructor to public, and to call it. I'm using sun-java6-jre on Ubuntu 32bit to run these tests.

    I am using Tablerow+TextView to make a simple view for blog posts and their replies. In each TableRow I put a TextView in. Now I have two issues: The text which is longer than the screen won't automatically wrap up to be multi-line. Is it by design of TableRow? I've already set tr_content.setSingleLine(false); [update] This has been addressed, I think I should change Fill_parent to be Wrap_content in textView.tr_author_time.setLayoutParams(new LayoutParams( LayoutParams.**WRAP_CONTENT**, LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT)); The Table won't scroll like ListView. My rows are more than the screen size. I expect the table could be scrolled down for viewing just like ListView. Is that possible?   • UISegmentedControl makes UITableView slow/lag?

    So I have a nicely working UITableView consisting of 3 rows (each including and image, and a varying number of text fields). Now the 4th row has a UISegmentedControl. As soon as I added it, the UITableView lags/jumps/skips. When I take it away again, everything is smooth. How can I add the UISegmentedControl and still have smooth scrolling?

The problem is most annoying when you scroll all the way to the bottom of the gridview, and you still cannot fully see the last row items in the grid due to the ad. I'm not sure if this is the standard way that AdMob ads work. If this is the case, adding some padding to the bottom of the grid (if that's possible) would due the trick. That way the user can scroll a bit further, and see the last row in addition to the ad. I just switched from using LinearLayout to RelativeLayout after reading some similar issues with ListViews. Now my ad is along the bottom instead of above the grid, so I'm getting closer. Thoughts? -Kevin

    I have a scenario where I have single entry point Servlet and further Servlets that requests are forwarded to that undertake heavy processing. I am looking at options to distribute this load and I would like to know if it is possible using Tomcat or another platform to forward requests between Servlets sitting on different servers using a cluster type configuration or similar.   • Reusable calendar popup like iCalendar/scheduler on iPad? Not a date picker wheel.

    I need a date picker that shows an actual calendar (similar to the built-in calendar feature on the iPad.) Is there a reusuable widget? How could I easily implement one? The date picker wheel is terrible because it doesn't show you the day of the week (Sun, Mon, Tue...) and isn't really needed on the iPad where you have enough room to show a calendar which is a very user friendly way of letting someone pick a date (it is mentally easy to find the third Tuesday from today.)

    If I create a Google apps script, can I hook it up to Google spreadsheet to run based on an event, or must I manually invoke it? I don't know if Google spreadsheet supports any events. For example: a Google app script that strikes out rows in the spreadsheet that have been marked completed by way of a column having the digit 1 beside completed rows. I would like this to run whenever a row is modified, or even when the spreadsheet is first loaded.

    I have a Maven2 project which I am editing in IntelliJ IDEA 9.0.2. I am trying to build it and debug it within a Glassfish 2.1.1 container. This is only working sometimes. Occasionally it is giving me an error, telling me it can't deploy. Other times, it deploys, but does not run the filtering on the POM, not replacing a variable in the sun-web.xml file (and other container specific files) leaving it as ${targetenv} instead of replacing it with the value it should. I think I am missing something here, and have something very confused, but I have no idea what. Any help would be most gratefully received.

    While trying to encrypt a given input using Elliptic Curve Cryptography in Java I'm using the following algorithms for generating the cipher and the key: KeyPairGenerator g = KeyPairGenerator.getInstance("ECDSA"); Cipher cipher = Cipher.getInstance("ECIES"); Now as expected, the cipher isn't accepting the keys generated by the ECDSA algorithm. I get the error as - must be passed IE key. I searched for the ciphers being supported by these 2 methods here: http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/security/StandardNames.html#Cipher Unfortunately no else algo is supported for ECC. Has anyone used ECC generated keys to encrypt/decrypt an input? Which algo should I use for both so that they don't clash with each other?

    Hi, When I export the content of the display tag table I use the data shows up fine, but the header cells are surrounded by html span tags, which is slightly annoying. I can imagine why Displaytag uses spans around the column header's text, but it shouldn't transpose in the exported data I think. Since my app starts with four visible rows at least the position numbers cycling from 0-3 makes sense. But the rest is a mess: Why is getview called for each row four times? Where are these convertViews coming from when I haven't scrolled yet? I did a bit of reseach, and without getting a good answer, I did notice that people were associating this issue with layout issues.   • Lotus Notes rich text field to RTF File - VB

    Here is my problem, I am doing a data migration from Lotus notes to another type of software that does not support Rich Text Fields. I am trying to write a VB 2005 program that will take any rich text fields that are found and place them into an RTF file - which will be uploaded as an attachment in the new software. I cannot get the program to take the rich text formating or objects to the RTF file, only the plain text. I have tried everything under the sun using the COM library to get these objects out to no avail. Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you in advance Bryan

    Hi I have a special requirement for one of my applications where I need the servers nounce (Handshaker.srv_random) when verifying the client certificate. Yet JSSEs X509TrustManager only passes me the certificate, no other information of the handshake. I have located the place, where checkClientTrusted is called (inside ServerHandshaker) and it would be easy to extend it to also allow some X509CustomTrustManager to be called with all required information. Yet this would require me to recompile JSSE... I also found jsse sources in openjdk. Now for my questions: What is the easiest way to compile jsse from openjdk? Can the resulting jsse.jar be used as a replacement for the (original) sun jre as a replacement for the included jsse.jar? Is there another (more standard compliant) way to archive what I am trying to do? I did not find a hook to use my own handshaker... Regards, Steffen
