• How to adjust wallpaper to make it fit the screen, for netbook using window 7 starter?

  I have a netbook, with window 7 starter. I was trying to change the wallpaper, and found this application: John's Background Switcher which said that I can make slide show of themes, I guess it's as you set wallpaper with window 7 ultimate. The default wallpaper was still fine until downloading that application. After trying it, error occurred, I couldnt change the background, so I closed it, but then the default wallpaper changed its size, the central image dropped out of screen, can see aaprt of it on `bottom right hand corner. I tried to adjust the image into center, but it didnt work when i right click on desktop - Graphic option - panel fit - "center image". Anybody can help me? how to adjust it back to normal as original?

• WPF Storyboard flicker issue

  With the code below, the control flickers whenever the image is changed for MouseOver/MousePressed? I am using Storyboard and Double animation.The image display is very smooth with WPF Triggers but not with Storyboard. • datagrid height issue in nested datagrid( when using three data grid)

• Javascript Noob Question. Need Help With Simple Script

  Hi everyone, I am new to JavaScript (only a couple of days of reading a book) and I am stuck on this code snippet. I have looked at it over and over again but cannot seem to figure out why it is not working. I am sure it is something really simple that I have just looked over but I really just need a fresh pair of eyes to look at this. The code is supposed to update a placeholder image on a page without the page having to reload. But when I am clicking on the link of an image, it is taking me to the link where the image is located instead of replacing the placeholder image. • Joystick input in Java

  Hi all, I am making a 2D game in Java and I want to use a joystick to control the movement of some crosshairs. Right now I have it so the mouse can control those crosshairs. My only criteria for this is that the control for the crosshair must stay in the game window unless a user clicks off into another window. Basically I want my game to capture whatever device is controlling the crosshairs much like a virtual machine captures a mouse. The joystick I am using (Thrustmaster Hotas Cougar) comes with some pretty advanced features, so that may make this easier (or harder). I have tried the solution listed on this page, but I am using a 64bit computer and for some reason it does not like that. I have also tried to use the key emulation feature of my joystick, but with little success. Here is what I have so far, any pointer would be appreciated.   Hi everyone, I am new to JavaScript (only a couple of days of reading a book) and I am stuck on this code snippet. I have looked at it over and over again but cannot seem to figure out why it is not working. I am sure it is something really simple that I have just looked over but I really just need a fresh pair of eyes to look at this. The code is supposed to update a placeholder image on a page without the page having to reload. But when I am clicking on the link of an image, it is taking me to the link where the image is located instead of replacing the placeholder image.   I wanna take a rect from CGPDFPage (the portion of image around the user's touch point(x,y)) and scale it by a scaleFactor (ie 2x). Below the code I've used to get CGPDFPage's rect. The problem with it is the scaleFactor support. The idea is: 1) pageRect size is pageRect.size *2 2) myThumbRect (the region to zoom) become resultImageSize/scaleFactor (because the final output will be scaleFactor times bigger) 3) pointOfClick (x,y) become pointOfClick(2x,2y) 4) scale up the context by factor CGContextScaleCTM(ctx, scaleFactor, -scaleFactor); 5) grab the rect However the result is an empty image.   LowDown: I am trying to create a Document Viewer in WPF. It will allow the user to preview selected documents and if they want, compare the documents in WPF. So they can view them side by side. The layout is this: Left side is a full list box. On the right side is a Collection or an Items control. Inside the items control will be a collection of the "selected documents" in the list box. So A user can select multiple items in the list box and for each new item they select, they can add the item to the collection on the right. I want the collection to look like a image gallery that shows up in Google/Bing Image searches. Make sense? The problem I am having is I can't get the WPFPreviewer to bind correctly to the selected item in the list box under the itemscontrol. Side Note: The WPFPreviewer is something Micorosft puts out that allows us to preview documents. Other previewers can be built for all types of documents, but im going basic here until I get this working right.   Hi, I'd like to know how to build an SMTP multipart message in the correct order so that it will render correctly on the iPhone mail client (rendering correctly in GMail). I'm using Javamail to build up an email containing the following parts: A body part with content type "text/html; UTF-8" An embedded image attachment. A file attachment I am sending the mail via GMail SMTP (via SSL) and the mail is sent and rendered correctly using a GMail account, however, the mail does not render correctly on the iPhone mail client. On the iPhone mail client, the image is rendered before the "Before Image" text when it should be rendered afterwards. After the "Before Image" text there is an icon with a question mark (I assume it means it couldn't find the referenced CID). I'm not sure if this is a limitation of the iPhone mail client or a bug in my mail sending code (I strongly assume the latter). I think that perhaps the headers on my parts might by incorrect or perhaps I am providing the multiparts in the wrong order.   TLDR: I have an Openlayers map with a layer called 'track' I want to remove track and add track back in. Or figure out how to plot a triangle based off one set of coords & a heading(see below). I have an image 'imageFeature' on a layer that rotates on load to the direction being set. I want it to update this rotation that is set in 'styleMap' on a layer called 'tracking'. I set the var 'stylemap' to apply the external image & rotation. The 'imageFeature' is added to the layer at the coords specified. 'imageFeature' is removed. 'imageFeature' is added again in its new location. Rotation is not applied.. The image will move in coordinates as it should though. So what am I doing wrong with the redraw function or how can I get this image to rotate live? If I were to draw a triangle with an array of points & linestring. How would I go about facing the triangle towards the heading. • Help needed with drawRect:

  Hi, I'm having a fundamental issue with use of drawRect: Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The application needs to draw a variety of .png images at different times, sometimes with animation, sometimes without. A design goal that I was hoping to adhere to is to have the code inside drawRect: very simple and "dumb" - i.e. just do drawing and no other application logic. To draw the image I am using the drawAtPoint: method of UIImage. Since this method does not take a CGContext as a parameter, it can only be called within the drawRect: method. So I have: - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { [firstImage drawAtPoint:CGPointMake(firstOffsetX, firstOffsetY)]; } All fine and dandy for one image. To draw multiple images (over time) the approach I have taken is to maintain an array of dictionaries with each dictionary containing an image, the point location to draw at and a flag to enable/suppress drawing for that image. I add dictionaries to the array over time and trigger drawing via the setNeedsDisplay: method of UIView. More specifically: drawRect: starts to bloat quickly and contain code that is not "just drawing" code the UIView needs implicit awareness of the application state the overall process of drawing is now spread across three methods at a minimum And on to the point of this post: how can I do this better? What would the experts out there recommend in terms of overall structure? How can I keep application state information out of the view? Am I looking at this problem from the wrong direction. And right now when it's starting over, the pictures doesnt come from the right side anymore :( The reason for which I have created the slideLeft function, is that afterwards I need to create 2 functions, where the user can interrupt the slideshow manually pressing a left or right button. • Touchpad mouse problem

  Hi all. I have a toshiba satellite and its been behaving weirdly. It only works at the password prompt screen to logon but as soon as I am logged in, it just stops working. Left nor right button clicks are working. I am running vista home. Any pointers on how to go about this? Thanks.

• OpenVPN, Great on Windows, VERY slow on Mac...

  Hello, I'm not really an IT Pro, but this seemed like the best place to ask this question... I have setup VPN networks in the past, for fun, and everything was great, but now I've set one up for my boss, and while my computers all work great, his Mac machines are almost too slow to work with. Its pretty much vanilla configs all around, anyone have any ideas? Its a TUN routing setup over UDP. Back Story: My boss travels a lot, and wants to be able to access all his files from the road, and is also pretty paranoid about security (even though knows almost nothing about computers). SO i figured a VPN would be the answer. I went with OpenVPN, but there are some other issues. The only ISP we can get in our area besides Dial-UP is a crappy Satellite provider, that doesn't offer public IPs unless your willing to pay, so while the computers and VPN setup are pretty vanilla, the routing and structure is strange to get around this limitation. Specs: Its OpenVPN2, and there are six machines using it (only three actually use it, the rest are my test machines), one Windows 7 laptop, two XP Desktops, one OS X 10.5 Desktop, one 10.6 Desktop, and one 10.6 Laptop. One XP Desktop sits at my house and acts as the server (6Mbs/2Mbs FIOS connection). One XP desktop sits at the office and hosts a webpage that will wake up the Main Mac Desktop from sleep, and also ping all the machines on the VPN and show their status. The main office mac (10.6) stays in sleep mode until it gets the Wake-On-Lan packet from the Office XP, and then it auto connects to the VPN and opens itself up. The reason for all this is the Satellite private IP crap means i cant directly access the office machines outside of the LAN, so everyone connects to my house first, then they talk to each other from there. The Wake On Lan weirdness is because my boss doesn't want to leave the main Mac on all the time, and making a quick and dirty webpage was the easiest way to send a Magic Packet from inside the LAN without confusing my boss. The VPN uses Client Config files to make static IPs for the client. The only thing i found in google was some changes to the VPN MTU settings (down to 1400) but no real help. Oh, and i forgot...all the windows machines just have OpenVPN start as a service. The Mac laptop uses tunnelblick (an OpenVPN GUI) and the Mac Desktops use OpenVPN in normal command line mode. The idea is to turn off encryption on the ssh tunnel (to save bandwidth) and turn on maximum compression (to save more bandwidth). This is because it's a satellite link. Am I going about this the wrong way? Should I create an ssh tunnel on x.x.x.218? I use iptables to stop squid on x.x.x.224 from reading port 80, but to feed from port 6999 instead (i.e. via the ssh tunnel). Do I need another iptables rule? Any comments greatly appreciated.
