  • HTTP Request from a PC to load the contents of a wap site

    - by cocoatoucher
When I try to load a wap site with PHP HTTP request from my PC, host of the web site recognizes that I'm sending the request from a PC and redirects me to their actual web site and I can't load the wap site. Is there a way to behave like a mobile browser and prevent this redirection? Although an answer regarding any programming language is ok, a php specific answer will be better.

  • Valid URL-string as NSUrl becomes null

    - by Mike
Hello, another issue where I seem to have found an solution for ObjC but not MonoTouch. I want a NSUrl from an URL (as string). The string may contain whitespace and backslashes. Why is NSUrl returning null for such string, even though these are valid urls in a browser? For example: NSUrl foo = NSUrl.FromString(@"http://google.com/search?\query"); foo == null Any suggestions?

  • How can I get IE8 to accept a css :before tag?

    - by William Calleja
I have the following CSS code .editable:before { content: url(../images/icons/icon1.png); padding-right:5px; } this is used in conjuntion with the following markup: <span class="editable"></span> In every other blessed browser in the world my icon is appearing, but IE8 seems to have a problem with this. Isn't the :before pseudo-element CSS2? isn't content: also a CSS2 command? what gives?

  • How does one quickly access ruby and rails documentation when using vim?

    - by 46and2
Hey all, What method are vim users out there using to quickly access documentation for both ruby and rails (other than switching to the browser to use ruby-doc or railsapi?). I was trying to adapt this script (http://vim.wikia.com/wiki/Online_documentation_for_word_under_cursor) to do the trick however it's only going to work if the cursor is over a class name and I'd like it to work with both class and methods. Thanks.

  • html.actionlink with .net 4.0 renders empty links

    - by tmfkmoney
This should hopefully be a simple configuration problem. When my application targets .Net 3.5 This code <%= Html.ActionLink("Forgot your password?","ForgotPassword") %> renders this: <a href="/Account/ForgotPassword">Forgot your password?</a> When my application targets .Net 4.0 The same code renders: <a href="">Forgot your password?</a> It's dropping the url part. backwards compatibility is supposedly enabled in my web.config. <pages controlRenderingCompatibilityVersion="3.5" clientIDMode="AutoID"> Ideas?

  • Google gadget to read https rss feeds?

    - by Carl
Anyone run across a Google Gadget RSS reader that can read https feeds? I haven't been able to find any, and I'm not sure if this is because a) I'm the only one that needs one and/or b) there is something nasty about the browser security model here that I'll find out if I try to roll my own. Thanks much in advance.

  • R: ESS shell.exec speed

    - by Musa
I am using ESS in Windows XP. I have noticed that shell.exec is much slower with ESS than with RGui (the problem occurs when I try help(ls) for example, the help is displayed much faster in RGui, I tracked it down and it is due to shell.exec). Is there any reason for this? How can I fix it? My default browser is Firefox.

  • iPhone - stdint.h file not found!

    - by Mike
I am dealing with a project designed for iPhone OS 2.0 and I am intending to keep compatibility with this version while offering new OS 3.x functionality. When I set the base SDK to iPhone OS 3.1.3 and Target OS for 2.0, Xcode gives me this error during compilation. 'stdint.h' file not found /Developer/usr/lib/clang/1.0.1/include/stdint.h:32:16: fatal error: 'stdint.h' file not found The strange thing is that the file is there, on the path it says it is not. if I set the target OS for 3.x the problem vanishes. how to solver that? thanks for any help.

  • PHP: Cookie only sent to http://www.xxx.com and NOT http://xxx.com

    - by Axel
Hi, I have a php login which sets 2 cookies once some one login. the problem is that if you login from : http://www.mydomain.com and you go to http://mydomain.com you will find your self not logged in, I think that's because the browser only send the cookies to the first syntax. It's only one domain, the difference is the www. before the domain name, so how to set cookies to the whole domain whatever there is www. or not ? Thanks

Or if it is not possible to skip webbrowser.open when running on a shell without x?

  • Would it be possible to speed up Android Emulator by removing unnecessary apps\

    - by Stan
I am using Android SDK 1.6 and developing some simple apps. It seems everytime Android Emulator loads every default apps, like message music browser etc... I guess this cause the booting process slow (takes 1 minute overhead for me to test the code every time). Would it be possible to take these apps out and just have my apps on the emulator? My purpose is to have a faster boot up time on emulator. Thanks.

  • convert integer to a string in a given numeric base in python

    - by Mark Borgerding
Python allows easy creation of an integer from a string of a given base via int(str, base). I want to perform the inverse: creation of a string from an integer. i.e. I want some function int2base(num,base) such that: int( int2base( X , BASE ) , BASE ) == X the function name/argument order is unimportant For any number X and base BASE that int() will accept. This is an easy function to write -- in fact easier than describing it in this question -- however, I feel like I must be missing something. I know about the functions bin, oct, hex; but I cannot use them for a few reasons: Those functions are not available on older versions of python with which I need compatibility (2.2) I want a general solution that can be called the same way for different bases I want to allow bases other than 2,8,16 Related Python elegant inverse function of int(string, base) Interger to base-x system using recursion in python Base 62 conversion in Python How to convert an integer to the shortest url-safe string in Python?

  • Ruby on Rails Invalid Authenticity Token when using IE

    - by Jaan J
Hi, well for some strange reason IE gives me and InvalidAuthenticityToken error almost every time a POST query is used. Seems to be that IE does not like the "/" and "=" characters sometimes found in authenticity_token. So I wondered if anyone has actually found a solution to this? More strange is that no other browser seems to behave that way. Thanks in advance.

  • CFHTTP and IIS 7 Connection Failture (NOT SSL)

    - by Dave Quested
I'm trying to do a very simple CFHTTP GET call to a local website running on IIS7, however it throws a 408 Connection Failure. I've done all the obvious things: The site is listed in the hosts file locally I've added the CFHTTPPARAM tags for IIS compression issues (deflate;q=0) Surfing to the URL in the browser works fine Doing a CFHTTP to google.com works fine, no local sites work at all. When searching on Google there are others that have had this, but no solutions. Anyone successfully got through this issue?

  • ABCpdf attach Doc to email

    - by Barryman9000
I've used ABDpdf to render a pdf and stream it to the browser, but I'm wondering if I can attach the rendered pdf to an email. Has anyone ever done that? I'm hoping there is a way that doesn't require me to save the pdf to a temp directory then attach the file, then delete it.
