  • Populate FILE field with default text

    I'm trying to reutilize code that generates FILE fields for use when something is to be added to the database, and grayed out (and disabled) with data already in the database when the item in question is being edited or viewed in detail. However, I can't seem to get the text to fill the field. I'm using this: echo '<input type="file" name="small[]" value="' . $value_from_database . '" DISABLED><br>'; Am I missing anything? If not, are there any decent workarounds?

    I wrote simple class in JS witch works, but i had problem when i try use setInterval with it. Ex. if i do something like that ball = new ball(5,10,0, '#canvas'); ball.draw(); ball.draw(); ball.draw(); ball.draw(); It works. But this: ball = new ball(5,10,0, '#canvas'); setInterval(ball.draw, 100); Not work.     Hi! I had develop an intranet on CakePHP witch in one part generates a custom PDF using DOMPDF. The problem is that i have a memo field (mysql text) witch i print after getting the result from PHP nl2br function. The problems is that in some ocasions, this text is too long (even on font-size: 6px) and i need some way to make a page break (get again de header, and footer etc)... or maybe a nice way to get a second column to continue with the text inside. any ideas? thanks so much

I have a form with some imported values, and there is a field of witch imported value can be changed via a combobox.   • CSS- How to align background image over bottom border line? Jsfiddle included

    I have an image I am trying to display over the top of a bottom border, but it is being arranged behind the bottom border element (in this example, named "divider"), and I can't get it to align correctly. I would like the image to be displayed in the middle of the the border element and over the top of it. Vertically, I am trying to get the 1px line on the left and right side of the image to align with the 1px border to appear as if it is one element.   • Submit button on nested form submits the outer form in IE7

    I have the following code on my Home.aspx page: <form id="frmJump" method="post" action="Views/ViewsHome.aspx"> <input name="JumpProject" /><input type="submit" value="Go" /> </form> However, when I click the "Go" button, the page posts back to Home.aspx rather than going to ViewsHome.aspx. I even tried adding some script to force the form to submit: <input name="JumpProject" onkeypress="if(event.keyCode == 13) { this.form.submit(); return false; }" /> But still even if I press ENTER, the Home.aspx page is reloaded. The only thing I can see that might be borking things is this form is actually a child form of the main POSTBACK form that ASP.NET injects into the page. I'm sure there's something stupid I'm missing and this post will get 800 downvotes instantly banishing me back into the n00b realm, but perhaps I haven't gotten enough sleep lately and I'm missing something stupid. This is on IE7 and an ASP.NET 4.0 backend. I also have jQuery libraries loaded on the page incase jQuery can improve this somehow. Thanks!

  • main content wrapper div get's pushed down the page in IE

    I have a 2 column layout, with the left side for navigation and the right side for the main content. The right side content has a wrapper div that looks like: Now this looks fine in FF and GC, and it IE but if I change the padding to anything over 4px that section gets pushed down below the left navigation. #content { padding:3px; // 4 makes it get pushed down } Does this mean IE has a different way of calculating the width of all my elements? Is this a common problem that has a solution for it?

  • Loading/Displaying large amount of data on webpage.

    I have a webpage which contains a table for displaying a large amount of data (on average from 2,000 to 10,000 rows). This page takes a long time to load/render. Which is understandable. The problem is, while the page is loading the PCs memory usage skyrockets (500mb on my test system is in use by iexplorer) and the whole PC grinds to a halt until it has finished, which can take a minute or two. IE hangs until it is complete, switching to another running program is the same. I need to fix this - and ideally i want to accomplish 2 things: 1) Load individual parts of the page seperately. So the page can render initially without the large data table. A loading div will be placed there until it is ready. 2) Dont use up so much memory or local resources while rendering - so at least they can use a different tab/application at the same time. How would I go about doing both or either of these? I'm an applications programmer by trade so i am still a little fizzy on the things I can do in a web environment. Cheers all.

    We have an Intranet website, and a WPF windows executable installed on every workstation. How can we create a hyperlink on the intranet website that will launch the locally installed executable? Ideally we want the launch to be seamless. Is there a way of setting the browsers trust settings so that it won't display a security warning dialog for this executable? We have full admin capabilities on each workstation, and each user only uses Internet Explorer. We also know the correct local path for the exe.

  • Microformat combination to use with events data on a map

    I have event data displaying on a map and I am currently using the geo microformat alongside it however it's not particularly rich to have just a list of locations without any details of what they correspond to. I've been looking at combining microformats to achieve this and looking for some thoughts on the subject here is the data i am marking up: event title, event location [latlong], event address, contact phone, link to full details My initial thoughts are to use an hCard along with geo? I have a simple MVC application and my view is missing one thing I could really use. I want to select a local file just to retrieve it's filename. I know it's relatively easy to use the form tag helpers for uploading: <%= file_field 'upload', 'datafile' %></p> I wonder how I could get the filename from the selected file, without uploading the file.
