  Every time I call JPA method its creating entity and binding query. My persistence properties are: <property name="hibernate.dialect" value="org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle10gDialect"/> <property name="hibernate.cache.provider_class" value="net.sf.ehcache.hibernate.SingletonEhCacheProvider"/> <property name="hibernate.cache.use_second_level_cache" value="true"/> <property name="hibernate.cache.use_query_cache" value="true"/> And I am creating entity manager the way shown below: emf = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("pu"); em = emf.createEntityManager(); em = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("pu").createEntityManager(); Is there any nice way to manage entity manager resource instead create new every time or any property can set in persistence. • What mutex/locking/waiting mechanism to use when writing a Chat application with Tornado Web Framewo

  We're implementing a Chat server using Tornado. The premise is simple, a user makes open an HTTP ajax connection to the Tornado server, and the Tornado server answers only when a new message appears in the chat-room. Whenever the connection closes, regardless if a new message came in or an error/timeout occurred, the client reopens the connection. Looking at Tornado, the question arises of what library can we use to allow us to have these calls wait on some central object that would signal them - A_NEW_MESSAGE_HAS_ARRIVED_ITS_TIME_TO_SEND_BACK_SOME_DATA. To describe this in Win32 terms, each async call would be represented as a thread that would be hanging on a WaitForSingleObject(...) on some central Mutex/Event/etc. We will be operating in a standard Python environment (Tornado), is there something built-in we can use, do we need an external library/server, is there something Tornado recommends? • Unable to reserve a job with beanstalkd

  I have tried on two different servers to get beanstalkd up and running and do a couple tests (locally on MacOSX compiled from source, and on a CentOS server installed with yum) I can get the server running either with sudo beanstalkd -d -p 11300 or sudo beanstalkd -p 11300 & I then tried using the php lib and it just froze. Connecting directly: telnet localhost 11300 I do the following to mimic the PHP test script: use foo USING foo put 0 0 120 5 hello INSERTED 1 reserve-with-timeout 0 TIMED_OUT If I just run reserve It's stuck indefinitely. Any ideas?

• Trouble getting Flash socket policy file to work.

  Basically I'm using Flash to connect to a Java server. Despite my Java application replying to the , in the Flash debug log it lists (not sure about the order as there are lots): * Security Sandbox Violation * Connection to 192.168.1.86:4049 halted - not permitted from http://127.0.0.1:8888/Current/wander.swf Warning: Timeout on xmlsocket://192.168.1.86:4049 (at 3 seconds) while waiting for socket policy file. This should not cause any problems, but see http://www.adobe.com/go/strict_policy_files for an explanation. Error: Request for resource at xmlsocket://192.168.1.86:4049 by requestor from http://127.0.0.1:8888/Current/wander.swf is denied due to lack of policy file permissions. What I don't understand is, the server (port 4049) receives the request, outputs the policy file and then closes the connection, surely it shouldn't time out? The policy file I'm using is: <?xml version="1.0"?> <cross-domain-policy><allow-access-from domain="*" to-ports="*" /> </cross-domain-policy>

Under application in Event Viewer on the MQ machine it displays two errors. They are: “Channel program ended abnormally. Channel program ‘system.def.surconn’ ended abnormally. Look at previous error messages for channel program ‘system.def.surconn’ in the error files to determine the cause of the failure. • Why AVCaptureSession output a wrong orientation?

  Hey guys, So, I followed Apple's instructions to capture video session using AVCaptureSession: http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/qa/qa2010/qa1702.html. One problem I'm facing is that even though the orientation of the camera / iphone device is vertical (and the AVCaptureVideoPreviewLayer shows a vertical camera stream), the output image seems to be in the landscape mode. I checked the width and height of imageBuffer inside imageFromSampleBuffer: of the sample code, and I got 640px and 480px respectively. Does anyone know why this's the case? Thanks!

• How can I ignore an http request without clearing the browser?

  To prevent duplicate requests (i.e. pressing F5 right after clicking a command button), I've setup my page base class to ignore the request if it's detected as a duplicate. When I say 'ignore' I mean Response.End() Now I thought I've seen this work before, where there's an issue, I just Response.End() and the users page just does nothing. I don't know the exact circumstance in which this worked, but I'm unable to repeat it now. Now when I call Response.End(), I just get an empty browser.
